I don't know. I think this might be the least believable bar fight in movie history.
One of the people Robert Duvall punched out is a voice actor named Travis Willingham. Duvall thought he was a stunt double and actually hit him in the face.
Subby clearly wasn't paying attention:
" Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good. That honour, courage and virtue mean everything ; that power and money ... money and power mean nothing. That good always triumphs over evil. And I want you to remember this.... that love....true love never dies ! Remember that boy ... remember that. Doesn't matter if it is true or not, a man should believe in those things , because those are the things worth believing in......"
I believe Hub taught those ruffians to be good men that day.
You misspelled "best"
I saw it a year ago while waiting for jury duty. It was surprisingly entertaining. About 1/3 of the movie is Duvall and Caine arguing with each other, 1/3 is the tough guy from Leverage acting out a 1940s serial, and about 1/3 cheesy family friendly filler involving a kid and some apocryphal treasure. The lion only shows up about half-way through and has little bearing on the overall movie.
This was a family favorite for a while. Don't know if I want to watch it again and ruin the memory if it's not as good as I remember.
I dunno, the slowness of it is kinda charming.
Don't understand what is so unbelievable about this, personally, but I'm glad you shared, good memories of Secondhand Lions.
Yeah, but fun movie.
