Seattle Game Hunting - $5 Good Game Challenge

hey guys metal Jesus here recently I invited Kelsey Lewin my bud riff from the pixel game squad and my wife to run around the Seattle area on a quest $7 this is the real gem right here my life flashed before my eyes there's great we are gonna be hitting up two of the area's most popular retro gaming stores to try and find the game with the best Metacritic score for five dollars or less I think I might have found my $5 game it's 5:15 do we been here for four minutes all three of us are big video game collectors but who will find the best game for under five dollars I'm gonna see what it is yet because I don't want to give it away four minutes all right I gotta step on my game [Music] [Music] this is a great store this is another castle in Edmonds and as you can see it's a retro gaming store as well as a full arcade and also a bar back there but they may open for us this is the kind of stuff I normally like in the retro world I've been super into like collectibles and figures and knickknacks and accessories especially a lot of the little stuff that people think like oh this is a cheap little stupid thing a lot of times I go for that stuff I don't know why I like that stuff a lot I'm overwhelmed I don't even know we're starting to stay under I found one that I like it's pretty simple but I think I might have found $95 again it's 550 do we been here for four minutes I'd have to talk them down 50 cents in order to make it qualify so it's $5 $5 because that's what you're asking about tax so I so if I could talk about a 5 bucks - 4 nein then I'm just scared I it's one of those games like your brain is like do I like it because I like yeah but will the Metacritic score be enough in Island I do like some bad games and I so you know Barbie as the Island Princess not eight dollars and I've been distracted by the PC games they should move along you know super collapse I know nothing about this but it is the perfect $5 I'm not saying this in my game I'm just saying puzzle games at this point we've been walking around for about a half an hour I don't know if any of us are any closer to actually finding our game well except for for riff but I don't know exactly what that is yet but we decided to take a little break and check out the arcade and wow it does not disappoint oh good old place so as you can see it's a mix of pinball and arcade machines however it didn't take us long to find the four player pac-man battle royale game we just had to play this this is so much fun so this was a nice diversion it was very cool they opened it up to us early that's why I don't see anybody else here but we are on a quest and it's time to check out legacy of the wizard for my peg is my choice not too many people talk about it but it's a great NES game a fantastic game a cheap game it's like an RPG s platformer digger a lot of different things and it is beautiful music as well and I'm gonna get it down because I'm gonna do the discount thing so this that's pretty smart he's done the smart thing there I'm worried I'm worried because I'm I'm not gonna get that big of a discount I can already tell you I I'm feeling this one I'm feeling feeling this yeah what does it read okay you guys are trying to hide it from each other don't whine which one is it oh this game is awesome and the Wii version is gonna get discounts are you just watching oh she's of strings well there might be a little penalty for being slightly over I think I don't know if this is gonna be my final submission or no we have decided that yet I guess but I got low Kuroko - on the PSP which is a great game and bonus airheads which definitely adds like 5 metacritic points yeah totally yeah the days not oh I'm going with my sleeper head of legacy a wizard no one even knows about it [Music] this is awesome I don't know what this is but this guy's belly button says boobie so I'm going for it it's also cheap it's apparently a skating game of some sort I don't know we're gonna try it out how much I think it's me like five dollars and ten cents or twenty cents so like that which qualifies for disqualification good god wow that got really close you know I'm so sorry my life flashed before my eyes there is great so that was store number one and we are leaving with games in hand but the day is not over oh no we are gonna head from Edmonds down to Seattle to check out Kelsey's pink gorilla store in the U district at pink gorilla we have another chance to find that elusive good game for under five dollars we need to we need to address something here it seems like you have an unfair advantage no and I'll tell you why okay you told me up until I met you for lunch today that we were doing a five dollar bad game challenge I changed the rules so where to look ya know texting during this because he's gonna tell ya I wanna you can't look at your follower the price five dollars yeah oh yes okay no we won't hey she's better at keeping my business afloat than I am right my first thought is to check out the PSP cuz the games are good and usually cheap but nothing catches my eye so maybe the Wii I go to the Wii because the Wii is full of games that people and the other hidden gems good and cheap just like you bet just like me that's me in a nutshell but I'm striking out on the Wii nothing catches my eye so maybe some imports for dollar soccer or football no they come on soccer in Japan do they yeah wait a sec read this it's a how's this work well oh yeah you're right shut up Steve is it called baseball durian yeah cute so it's called something different in Japan well I guess see that's the Japanese translation so sometimes I'm right there fighting oh and I'm wearing heels today because I knew I was gonna be filming with you guys I don't want to be a man I don't know why this is so difficult I mean they have a ton of stuff here but I'm just not feeling it I mean I'll find a good game and you know it's usually six bucks seven bucks and that's totally fine normally but I got to keep this under five and then Kelsey comes up with this dang it you see that here's all the interns are three bucks each oh that would be good yeah hey actually uncharted 2 is a fantastic game that's this is a fantastic game I'm not lying either super spec bball and then yes really honestly fantastic for player volleyball games next gen so okay so let's decide it buying discs only is this cheating somehow no why would it be cheating it isn't the purpose of this to like kill the game yeah willing to show people like that there are cheap games under $5 this wall is like all these Bioshock 2 Borderlands brutal legend call duty black ops 1 or 4 - all these are under $5 they're all gonna have good ratings so this is like the wall the wall to win you just like have to pick one of these and she'll be honest I mean you're absolutely right if you didn't care about the the cases or whatever you can buy a ton of games which one do you think is higher high higher rating black ops of one or two I think I think black ops 2 would be higher rated of these two but I think Modern Warfare 2 is gonna be the highest rated for sure my that's my favorite I think it's the most high regarded in the wool of someone who has a call duty clan tag tattoo this is like what everybody the hype is was modern warfare 2 I love how so I got a lot of conversations you have a tattoo to go along with it I do as the guy who's got the you know yeah yeah excuse me sir America skating unfortunately oh yeah I want more skate man I'm calling your model or two but I'm gonna raise it black ops 2 I like this I think that that's gonna be you know why because it's technically newer and it would have a little bit more development into it so I think to grab I think it's gonna be rated higher even though that's that's that's what I'm saying this is just the normal Mega Man games like Mega Man 1 2 3 4 5 6 these are just like the NES ones but on PlayStation and I follow that yeah in Japan yeah you should do the $300 pink gorilla cow only from this store what you're supposed to do is I need to get the lowest Metacritic score so you need to spend the most amount of money on the worst games you would just start with your back room and all the other cases that you sell 50 cents yeah all right we're obviously having a great time hanging out but this is a challenge and we need a winner so each of us has a game selected from each store that we visited today we just need to choose which one we want to submit which one we think has the higher Metacritic score right off the bat I'm gonna go first I wanted to choose Resident Evil 4 on the Wii but I couldn't need to down to 5 bucks so close so it doesn't count and it sucks because this is a Metacritic score of 90 100 and pretty well so I this is not qualified but I went with what I think is another great game and that is call of duty black ops 2 not quite as high in 83 I know to be hired that I honestly don't see did I I thought it'd be 3 you can go next yeah sure Wow all right I feel like I might clutch it I was I was a little too overconfident in this one and local Rico to which I picked up at the first story or ad which is it's good so a Metacritic score of 85 oh all right so you're like it's a fun game on the PSP it's one that I recommend you watch everyone pick up just because it's so easy to pick up and play fun game but now that I'm you know as a little too confident this one either we have copies of like GTA 4 for like four dollars he pointed out Charlie should have done this he pointed out no three really any of the grand theft I was wrong to be very highly rated yeah but that's a great answer because that is a game that kind of goes under the radar it's super fun this is a better recommendation it is it really is the way it's nice you have the bumpers is so clever you know the bouncing it's a great game ok the game I was gonna pick but I didn't pick it as legacy of The Wizard by brøderbund on NES great game fun game great music great soundtrack under five dollars about is the price for it but it's not the game I picked and thankfully because it wasn't as high as I was thinking I was like at a 70 the game I did pick is call of duty modern warfare 2 okay on Metacritic Metacritic upon checking is that a 94 I do you never going back at the end of this game and it's like it's it's hard to say if that one's detected be that much better than yeah I mean the first by call duty games all have that they're amazing avatar Wow alright Congrats well played sir well made all right so that's our game hunting where can people find you on the Internet pixel game squad on YouTube or Facebook Instagram Twitter all that all that Jess Kelsey I'm Kelsey Liu and i'm youtube.com slash Kelsey Lewin or on Twitter at Cal fluid awesome alright guys thanks very much for watching thank you for subscribing and teeka a huge shout out here at the end -
