is hey what's up guys this is jamie kennedy and although i look like i stormed the capitol on january 6th i was not there ah but i am here at the grimm life collective right please follow this channel this is the channel that takes you on a tour of all the locations in scream that's right this is the channel that takes you on the official tour of every location that scream one was filmed that's right the 25th anniversary is coming up i happen to be in the movie my name is randy and they even found an ice cream shop in our fictional town of woodsboro that sells real-life scream ice cream that's right they have done it and i have to tell you there's so much history when we filmed this movie in terms of where we filmed the school that was the high school in santa rosa didn't want us because they thought we were a stupid horror movie and they wanted the beautiful jennifer conley billy crudup movie inventing the abbotts and although that was a hot script at the time i'm sorry where is it at in the pantheon of things i think they're wonderful people but god damn it we were just kicked to the curb and now look at us so we want to say thank you and there are certain rules you must remember to abide by to successfully survive a horror movie number one you can never have sex number two you can never drink or do drugs and number three most importantly more than anything is follow you know what i slash them and i gash them actually hey sydney this is michael and jessica of the grim life collective visiting the filming locations of 1996 scream by wes craven ah oh wait my identity is known oh it's okay this is kind of weird most of the time when people go to wine country in case you didn't know it most of scream was filmed in wine country here in california most of the people come to wine country to taste wine the grimlife collective we come here for scream thank god that's a fake knife somebody just drove by and saw jessica and i in complete scream costume and they gave us the thumbs up and they laughed and they kept driving by which is a good thing because we have some filming locations to do who knows maybe they'll come back for pictures does that mean that we're an official ghost sighting oh that was good jessica if you're a fan of wes craven's 1996 movie scream and you've seen it countless times like jessica and i have then you were probably very familiar with the locations that they used in the movie so you might be asking yourself wait a second michael and jessica wait a second grimms why on earth are you guys in the middle of nowhere this looks like nothing that i remember from the movie scream or you'd be correct except for one thing this driveway right here which we can't get into we've tried we tried contacting the owner which is perfectly fine they didn't get back to us this gate right here and this driveway leads to casey becker's house the opening shots of the movie scream where drew barrymore gets gutted and her parents find her hanging from a tree so we tried to get the gate a couple times a little call box here so i'm going to go ahead and try pressing it again for good measure because if the answer it'd be awesome all right hold the phone just one second is it me or did that call box kind of sound like the phone casey's phone from the beginning of the [Music] movie hello why don't you want to talk to me and that's it it hangs up like what if somebody answered and it was ghost-faced on the other side kind of scary listen no you listen to little you hang up on me again i'll cut you like a fish understand i really wanted to start this video off with the opening shots of the movie here on this property at this house this infamous most memorable scene but sadly it's not going to happen so even though i can't give you the house i can give you the driveway the next stop on our scream filming locations tour is woodsboro high school which in real life is the sonoma community center and you can see that written above the archway on the building there in the movie they had a sign that said woodsboro high school now in this scene it's one long shot they start off right about here and the camera pans down across the lawn and gale weather is a standing dressed in yellow just to the left of this tree and as the camera pulls backwards right where jessica's standing that's where her news van would have been and then the camera comes down this way now all of this shrubbery and the plants they weren't here at this time in fact i think a lot of the trees were new but as the camera pans over this way you see this door right around the tree here you see that door right there in sydney she would have been walking this pathway right down towards where i am standing right now to the left of this building is a parking lot and in the movie that's where the school buses can be seen in the background here's another shot of the sonoma community center and you can see it clear as day the front entrance here you know what jessica it is kind of cool i mean right now technically we're in wine country but this does really feel like i don't know like a different neighborhood a different world i just can't believe casey's dead oh it's all right it's all right there there there there and i know you guys watch our videos because of our crazy reenactments and because we're doing a scream video jessica is going to be ghostface in this scene and you'll see exactly why because we're going to line up some shots you ready for this baby ghoul it's so creepy pretty much this entire second floor is what they used when they were filming scream and we're going to walk you through and point out some things and i find it very interesting that there is a mop bucket here because you may remember a mock bucket scene damn little shits would you call me huh now in this scene you can line up a couple different things right above where jessica is there are some windows including right above that door they brought in fake lockers for the movie and they would have been right over here in this area and you can see these two doors behind sydney and matthew lillard and rose mcgowan's character tatum as they're talking all of a sudden somebody screams and somebody dressed in the ghost face costume comes running down the hallway like jessica and bad taste yeah i'm sorry it's been bad taste there she goes and she keeps going [Applause] after the guy in the scream costume runs down the hallway sydney obviously upset runs down the hallway herself and she runs into her boyfriend billy loomis who's played by skeet right here and they have that little little talk where he's like how could you think it was me sydney i'm your boyfriend [Music] you still think it's me no no i i don't and if we're gonna be technical about it i think this is as close as we're going to get to the actual shot [Music] now you see that lamp post on the right hand side of the screen in the movie there's an aerial shot that comes down it sweeps right down past that lamp post and that gazebo right there and the camera turns over to right where jessica is sitting this fountain the group would have been all sitting right here talking about whether or not a man or a woman could actually commit the crimes and gut someone in fact jessica's sitting right where billy and sydney would have been you and i want sitting to be safe all students are encouraged to return to their homes probably from school ground avoid strangers walk in twos and three classes yeah they ask me hey they ask you like to hunt what are you saying that i killed her it would certainly improve your high school queue still was with me last night okay yeah it was was that before or i have to be sliced and done what's really cool is back then they still had plants on the four corners of the fountain here but instead they were like these wooden flower pots now that they have these concrete squares but if you look very closely in the scene the tile work of the fountain is still the same [Music] i love that basically jessica and i are just hanging out in woodsboro right now straight ahead in the center of the park is the water fountain where they would have been sitting talking and over here across the street is the woodsboro police station and we just got word by somebody who was walking by saying that hey we need to go to this ice cream shop because inside they have some scream related things the place is called noble folk ice cream and pie bar it's been a hot day 110 degrees i think it is so we can go for some ice cream i'm okay with that i wasn't kidding when i said that they have some scream treats in here look at that shirt that is freaking cool and if a shirt or a sweater is not your thing you can get some stickers i think they're stickers or at the very least just cards nope they're stickers those are cool i like how the design is just so simple and ghostface's face is part of the ice cream cone man so we just got some ice cream it is an extremely hot day and typically we don't really do this because you know you don't want to get sick when you're out sorbet just got sorbet and i got triple berry how is it it's amazing yeah it's homemade they make it right in the store so if you haven't been able to tell right now we're sitting right where the gang was sitting at the beginning of the movie talking about whether it was a a man or a woman who was committing the killings it's good right what else did we get water bottle hold it up let's see it that's so cute yeah i dig it yeah it's really cute well sadly it looks like we're not going to be able to get a closer look at the house that was used for sydney prescott's home in the movie scream but if we were to take this driveway up to the top of the hill that's where it would be it turns out at the top of the hill there are two houses and while we were down here filming one of the homeowners came home not sydney's house but the people who owned the neighboring house and we asked them if we could follow up the driveway to get shot of the house that they used for scream and he said sadly no you i can't let you guys do that plus the the homeowners of sydney's house doesn't want to be involved with any of this so is what it is for most of the houses that they used for the movie scream they're pretty out in the middle of nowhere which makes sense because they did a lot of extensive filming at those locations this house here this was the home of rose mcgowan's character tatum now most of the filming i guess pretty much all of the filming took place right over here on this porch it was a wrap around porch and this is where sydney and tatum were talking about sydney's mother's relationship with cotton if we walk around to the side of the house almost to the back we get a better shot of the porch at almost the angle that they would have been filming this scene from now tatum and sydney would have been sitting on the railing on that porch everything matches up the railing the posts even that second story window right above where they would have been sitting like i said they didn't really film much here in fact they're probably looking for a wraparound porch and since this is right around the corner from the supermarket they just chose to film it here the next stop on our screen locations tour is this building that's behind me right now this was bradley video store and now a very cool scene happening here between stu and randy basically they're talking about who the killer was and billy was in the background talking to girls and randy jamie kennedy says oh man that there's no class to that i mean if you were the lead suspect in a horror movie well if you're a lead suspect in a murder why are you hanging out in the horror section and also this is where jamie kennedy randy kind of loses it and says everybody's a suspect oh now that's in poor taste what if you were the only suspect in a senseless bloodbath would you be standing in the horror section there's a formula to it a very simple formula everybody's a suspect we talked to some of the people that have been here for quite some time you know working in this area and living here and they said that this building has been vacant for the past five six years which is interesting because when you start looking through the windows which we've been doing you can tell that it was a video store at one point this is it it's been completely gutted how crazy is that this shot right here you can see that octagon shape on the floor as well as those two support beams about the center of your screen we watched this scene quite a bit trying to see if we can see those in the background sadly we couldn't but if you look on the wall in the background you can see two signs one says box sets and tv shows and the other one says blu-ray discs there is however something that you can match up right over here just because walking towards it are the double doors in this scene in the background you can see these double doors opening and closing and customers coming in [Music] jesus this place is back tonight man it's a little hard to tell because there's a giant tree in about the center of your screen right next to the church that's blocking off the peak in this scene but in this scene dewey comes riding right down this street and in it you see those green awnings on the left hand side of the street those are still here those could be seen in it and he pulls over and he parks right over here in this area now you see those windows they've changed quite a bit but you can see those windows in the shot which means right over here it's called oakville grocery company as soon as we turn the corner you're going to see it this was the woodsboro police station i'm just going to be a few minutes girls don't go too far [Music] another thing that's really cool you see that white wall that's right in front of us that's the side of the woodsboro police station and it didn't look like that back in 95 96 when they made scream instead it was like this this stone wall but if we come over here on the other side of this little art piece there's a scene where dewey walks right in front of it and he's eating an ice cream cone and it's a very comical scene and they're standing right in front of these double doors julie where the hell you been i was keeping an eye on sydney i thought you quit back in the 90s wes craven and gang were here and there they turned this space into the woodsboro police station today in 2021 it is the bon ton studios and it's changed quite a bit but you can still make out the way that it used to be in this scene you can see in the very background this portion of this room that first little cove right there which is a dressing room there's a square door there and now it's rounded and right here they had one of those letterboard signs [Music] the next stop on our scream location tour is here at a place called pacific market in santa rosa in this scene sydney and tatum are walking right up this little walkway right past where jessica is standing i'm sorry where ghost face is standing the door used to be back in the 90s it used to be right here where these windows are it's not like that today a lot has changed a lot always changes when it comes to filming locations today in 2021 this is the entrance just like the outside of the supermarket here the inside is completely different they completely remodeled it but we went inside and we talked to the people who work here and they confirmed that there's one particular aisle that they filmed in so we're gonna go check that out it changed a little bit but you'll you'll see the scene the camera walks ahead of sydney and tatum as they walk right down this alleyway getting food for stu's party and they start talking about some issues that sydney's been having with her boyfriend billy loomis in the movie sydney and tatum walk right past these coolers and they get to right about here you can tell that there's two different coolers here and in the movie there's a break in the wall which means they would have stopped right about here now what's really neat about the supermarket scene it seems very trivial but there's a point at the very very end one of the very last shots you see ghostface watching them his reflection in the cooler door you're just creepy the freezer door that you see goes faces reflection in is actually that of an ice cream cake and it doesn't look like they make the same brand anymore but it still is interesting that it says ice cream and frozen food right here in the same exact area where they filmed it looks a lot different but it's the same now let's mix a little bit of lore here let's do candy man and scream if we say ghost face name three times let's see if he appears in the cooler door how funny is this ready ghost face ghost face ghost face well i be it works it's him billy and
