us in this place tonight I am going to go to the Gospel according to Luke the 33rd chapter I'm sorry the fourth chap and I'm going to focus in on verse 33 through 36 the Gospel according to Luke the fourth chapter verses 33 through 36 now in our ministry we make a confession on how we receive the Word of God before I bring the Word of God I give instructions because it has to be the spirit over the mind that's the divine order of God if it is the mind over the spirit there's a disorder and whenever there's a disorder there's a breakdown so I don't want nobody to leave out of this massive place with a breakdown the Bible says the letter killeth but the spirit giveth life my educated mind can kill this word the only way I'm going to understand it I've got to place the spirit over my mind so would you just stand for a moment lift your Bible your iPad's your smartphone if you don't have any of those just place your hand over your heart thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee and repeat after me if you will if I receive this word with my mind only this word will be dead for me but if I receive this word with the spirit over my mind over my emotions over my fleshly desires this word will be life for me lord I don't need religious form and fashion need life now before you take your seat look at somebody tell him receive life you may be seated in the presence of the Lord Jesus has come that you might have life and have it more abundantly Luke 4 beginning at verse 33 the Word of God says and in the synagogue there was a man which had a spirit of an unclean devil and cried out with a loud voice saying let us alone what have we to do with thee thou Jesus of Nazareth now come to destroy us I know thee who thou art the Holy One of God and Jesus rebuked him saying o thy peace and come out of him and when the devil had thrown him in the midst he came out of him and hurt him not and finally verse 36 and they were all amazed and speak among themselves saying what a word is this for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits and they came out I want to talk just for a few moments on the subject Satan has no authority would you look at somebody tonight and tell them Satan has no authority well let's look at this tonight because there is a connection between Jesus and the demons right here in our text there is a connection between Jesus and the demons what was the connection both were from the spirit world both from the spirit world so listen to the conversation the demons are talking to Jesus listen to what they tell Jesus we know who you are you may be fooling people down here looking like a man walking like a man marry your mother Joseph your daddy we know who you are the Holy One of God we know you we used to live on the same street we came from the same place we know who you are now what they were doing they were challenging the authority of Jesus on earth this is what they were really doing they were letting Jesus know you are out of your territory Jesus you had authority up there but not down here you cannot challenge us he on earth you don't have the power because you are from the spirit world try that up there but don't try that down here actually I could hear the demons say we're actually from the same place so you're here illegally and we're here illegally you have no authority so Jesus were equal with power so get away from here leave us alone you know it's like it's like the Atlanta Police Department coming to Johannesburg with me and they got their lights flashing and if you get in the way they try to cool you over and give you a ticket you would laugh at the Atlantic Atlanta Police Department are you crazy you ain't from Johannesburg you better get away from us you can't give us a ticket you are out of your territory this is the way that the demons felt about Jesus you are in the wrong territory now why was Satan and the demons so comfortable in believing that they had as much power and as much authority on earth as Jesus they were relaxed and they were comfortable because before Jesus came there was no attack as it related to their authority nobody challenged their authority nobody knew how to cast out demons nobody knew how to take authority over the devil so they had a free-for-all so here comes Jesus and the demons say leave us alone what are you doing why are you bothering here bothering us here don't you know we've been here longer than you we have been here for a long time so now the demons feel relaxed that's what happens to people who are in a place for a long time you can be in a place for a long time and feel as though you have all right you think you have the right the legal right but it does not necessarily mean that because you have been in a place for a long time I experienced that in my own life I was not born in the United States of America I was born in Canada a little place called Windsor Ontario Canada so in coming to the United States I was blessed to move to a city called New Orleans Louisiana I knew that there was paperwork involved but I got busy and I forgot to get the paperwork done and so I was called to a church called greater Saint Stephen in New Orleans the ministry began to grow thousands of people join the ministry I was busy I was busy doing services of its services on a Sunday and I was busy I was busy and then two years after I started pastoring I married the love of my wife my life Deborah we've been married over 42 years god blessed us at that particular time because when I experienced this it was 1982 so I had two children I had a girl and a boy everything was fine because nobody attacked my authority as a United States citizen Donald Trump wasn't nowhere around for that nobody questioned my authority as a United States citizen until I was invited in 1982 I was invited to go preach in Paris France I was excited 32 year old pastor opportunity going overseas told my wife get ready I'm taking you to Paris I was excited to be able to go minister in a new country so we had to get passports we had to get passports so ma'am my wife and I we went to the passport place she had no problem giving her passport because she was born in the United States here you are mrs. Morton hope you have a great trip I'm waiting on my passport they said sir you can't get a passport to go to France because you are not a citizen of this country oh I got so upset what do you mean I'm not a citizen of this country I Pascal the largest church in Louisiana I am preaching all over the United States I married my wife here I've got two children here how dare you tell me I'm not a citizen of this country the lady looked at me and said sir I am sorry you are not a citizen and so you are actually here illegally I'm still upset I said go get a supervisor members that work there thank God that they did work there because they think they cooled me down and back then in 1982 they called me Rev Ralph I think you need to cool down cuz you don't have no papers and they actually can deport you for a year in a day a day so if I were you just work along with them I went back to the lady said yes ma'am I was wondering what can I do to uh to get the paperwork done there seems to be some kind of mix-up and I got busy and I didn't get my papers but all I'm trying to tell you tonight even though I was in New Orleans for a long time I was still there illegally you can be in a place for a long time never challenged and because you never challenged you feel it's though that everything is all right so some of you and I don't mean to get in your business but some of you have found that out living with somebody you wasn't married to and the man dies and you want the house you want everything and you trying to explain to people listen I took care of this man I cleaned his clothes dirty clothes I've cooked for this man what you mean telling me I have no legal right to what he's left because you've been in a place a long time don't mean you legally right so that's the problem that we are facing here the demon said we have been here a long time how dare you Jesus trying to catch demons out we're here getting into people and warning their lives how dare you trying to tell us we got to get out of here and that's when Jesus said in effect demons shut up I command you now to come out of the man and the Bible says they came under the man because Jesus had the power and one thing I want to let you know he did not break the rules Jesus while he was on earth was operating as the Son of Man anointed by the Holy Ghost he had authority why don't you look at somebody tell him he had authority but but peple I gotta show you in just a moment how he had authority because he had authority Matthew the eighth chapter beginning at verse 28 this is what the Word of God says in Matthew 8 beginning at verse 28 and when he was come to the other side into the country of generis there met him two possessed with Devils coming out of the tombs exceeding theorists so that no man might pass by that way in verse 29 says and behold they are cried out saying what have we to do with you Jesus thou son of God are you come hither to torment us before the time the demons knew that Jesus had a set time they came from the same place demons knew that they would not have authority always because they came from the same place but I want you to see this tonight they said Jesus it's not your time we know we're going to be destroyed but not yet you ain't here on a white horse and ain't time yet you don't have that kind of authority yet but they also knew that it was not their time they challenged the authority of Jesus because they did not understand the virgin birth do you think that the virgin birth was just some spectacular show that it was some kind of movie that was purpose to the virgin birth I don't want you to think that it was just a story that Jesus came and there was no room in the end and so they had to put him in a stable but wise men came would give Shepard's came with gifts angels sang glory to God in the highest that's just not some spectacular story there was a reason why Jesus had to do it that way I mean after all he was God he could have just snapped his finger and he was dead but I want you to see something about Jesus Jesus went through the process here's the son of God that came down and was placed inside of Mary for nine months he went through the nine-month process all of the things that the mother had to go through for these nine months was for a purpose Jesus gotta said why do I have to go through all of this I'll time my life up for nine months like this but he had to do it because Jesus was going to come here legally through the process through a woman to let the world know I'm legally here so here is Jesus he's gone through the process because he would have been challenged in his life just think about it if the Police Department stopped Jesus and said somebody told us that you're here here legally show us your birth certificate Jesus could have pulled out his long-form birth certificate born Bethlehem mother marry father unknown that's on a lot of birth certificates in the United States so Jesus would have been able to show his legal birth certificate so now here's the demons walking around trying to take over people come here demons show us your birth certificate Satan you seem to be the one in charge show us your birth certificate well I don't have no birth certificate who is your mama I don't know where no mama who is your daddy I don't know I don't have no daddy so the authorities could have said well you gotta get out of here because you are here illegally and that's that's what I want to close with tonight because Satan has no authority he's here illegally stop trying to act like he's because they look for the Wikus mind because a spirit has to have a bath so Satan the only way that he can get Authority you got to give him your body the only way that he can get Authority is you got to give him your mind but I've come all the way to Johannesburg to speak to somebody tonight and you gotta speak it in your own life Satan you cannot have my mind my mind belongs to Jesus and I don't care what comes of what goes my mind he's only Jesus and I'm so glad because the Holy Spirit is the spirit but I welcome him in my life I need somebody to speak it in this place to make the devil mad
