the current use of pens in closed or semi closed waterways by the Tasmanian salmon farming industry is no better than cattle feedlots plus the fact that they don't have to have any effluent management processes in place is disgusting . you just have to look at what happened in Boston Bay / Port Lincoln South Australia some years ago when a storm from an unusual direction stirred up all the sedimentary effluent in the bay and killed most of the feed lot pen tuna
