hey guys welcome back to the channel and if you're new here welcome we are on the celebrity reflection and this I hate to admit it this is our first time on a Celebrity Cruise we've been on several Royal Caribbeans and I say that because celebrity is an affiliate of Royal cvan International so we wanted to do kind of a comparison of the brands just to see where this Falls and maybe this is a cruise that you might want to take yourself so we're going to show you guys around we want to show you what restaurants they have here activities the entertainment and anything else that we can find to do and let you see what the celebrity reflection has to offer this ship has a realy Caribbean feel that I really just can't put my finger on yet but seems much more elegant than your traditional Royal Caribbean cruise the reflection is the largest of five ships in the solstice class the standout features include the lawn Club it has real grass on it a martini bar and a variety of restaurants in fact the reflection offers 12 restaurants cating to all taste from a buffet and poolside Grill to Italian Steakhouse and fine dining French themed restaurant with 10 bars on board there are plenty of places to grab a drink as well here's a little negative of the dining areas of the 12 restaurants found on reflection only four are included in the cost of your cruise those are the main dining room the Ocean View cafe Mass Grill and the spa Cafe the other restaurants are considered specialty restaurants that you will have to pay extra for and they are the La Petite Chef this is the one that offers a projection of a tiny Chef making your food on the table it's kind of a cute concept the other specialty restaurants are the Tuscan Grill Morano the lawn Club Grill the porch sushi on five Lumin and blue I do feel celebrities should add a few more restaurants into their included ones having so many specialty restaurants that you have to pay a premium for after you've already paid a premium to be on the ship just isn't great for the pocketbook let's talk about the overall food quality I've always heard that celebrity was known for great food and compared to other cruise lines that we've been on I would agree they do have good food I would say overall the buffet was a kind of a hit and miss there were a couple days that the food was just fantastic and a couple where it was just okay for the main dining area we had good food most every night the main food was good dessert was lacking a couple of nights uh for the specialty dining we didn't try any on this cruise but we talked to several people who had we heard great reviews from all of them but a couple were mixed on Le Petit Chef the main complaint was that the menu choices were limited and the food quality was just okay for the price that they had to pay I didn't hear any negatives on the other restaurants there are several bars located on the reflection but a couple of our favorite were the martini bar and the assemble lounge if you enjoy a nice Martini these guys at the martini bar are Masters and make amazing martinis they also put on a great show this is also an ice bar too which really adds to the experience The Ensemble Lounge is a great area with some fantastic bartenders this is where you can get a good cocktail some scotch or even your favorite drink they also have live entertainment in the evening so speaking of alcohol let's touch on the drink package and if it's worth it celebrity has three packages to choose from the alcohol packages that are the classic drink package and the premium drink package and they also have a non-alcoholic drink package that covers bottled tea specialty coffee smoothie sodas Red Bull that type of stuff now the alcohol classic package covers drinks up to $10 per serving and the premium drink package which covers up to $17 per serving the price of these can vary depending on the length of your cruise and the time of your sailing we had the premium drink package and a couple of our friends had the classic package our friends said that they had a hard time finding drinks that the classic PL would cover using the alcohol that they liked they mainly had lowcost daily special cocktails drinks using lower shelf alcohol domestic beer and sodas a lot of the craft beer and cocktail Tails were priced at $11 and over making them just Out Of Reach for the Classic Plan if you enjoy your cocktails and your specialty drinks you may want to splurge for the higher package if you just drink domestic beer and you don't care about the cocktails or specialty drinks then you will probably be just fine with the Classic Plan so what is included in the price of your cruise if you don't want a drink package at all well you can enjoy non bottled water coffee tea milk lemonade and any dispenser jues these are all included in the price of your cruise so what type of activities are on board celebrity reflection well the Leo deck has a large outdoor pool surrounded by several hot tubs as well as an adultsonly Solarium with indoor pool and hot tubs reserve for guests that are 16 and over there's no water slides go-karts rope courses rock climbing walls anything like that on Celebrity they do however have a children's and teams program that you can drop the kiddo at the cruise that we were on did have a few teens and children on board but nowhere near the amount that you would see on a tri typical Royal Caribbean cruise the kids club seemed a little lacking in activities in comparison to a Royal Caribbean cruise but they did have plenty of stuff to keep the little ones busy another big hit is This ship's lawn Club it's a half acre of real grass it's specially restaurant the lawn club and Grill and the porch that are up around that area and it's private rentable Cabanas for those who want a little extra shade and to relax privately away from the pool area this area also has a putting green and a large TV screen to relax while you're sitting on the lawn and watch a movie in the evening the reflection did have several shows during our sailing the Broadway style shows were just okay they aren't the level of production that you would find on some of the other ships but the actors did a great job they also had comedians magicians and singers during the evenings after the shows you could go to the forye area and join in with the fun with say a silent disco party or any other activities that they had that evening during the day they had game shows like Deal or No Deal Bingo trivia and a variety of other activities throughout the ship including a curling competition in the foyer I did like how much the crew interacted with the guests in on this ship in compared to some of the others they had competitions like officers versus guest Water volleyball and uh officers and guest cornhole tournaments let's talk a little bit about the cabins we stayed in a balcony room and overall enjoyed it even though it's an older ship they did a great job with the cleanliness you can definitely tell that the furniture and decor are dated but overall the room had a nice feel because it's an older room it's lacking on electrical plugs and they don't have any by the beds either if you're planning a trip on this ship you may want to consider packing like a three-way plug or a multiple plug adapter the beds were comfortable and the bathroom is your standard Cruise Line bathroom they do entice you with a stocked mini bar but even if you have the drink package these do cost extra we clarified that with our room attendant so there are sodas and some uh as you can see here some small alcohol like the airplane bottles and stuff but like I said those cost extra you can put your stuff in there if you want to store it but don't take anything out one question that do get a lot is what is the dress code on a cruise ship well on the celebrity daytime is casual shorts t-shirt these are common along with sundresses for women poolside swimsuits and coverups are a perfect choice when it comes to the evening attire celebrity reflection has a fairly casual approach to the dress code the guidance is smart casual and above so this means for men uh slacks polo style shirts or button- down shirts it's a little looser for the women though who will be comfortable in like casual dresses blouses skirts pants or even Capri on evening formal nights passengers can elect to go even dressier if they want even so for men jackets and ties are not required but feel free to wear them if you would like to some of the things that are not permitted in the evening to dinners are t-shirts swimsuits robes bare feet tank tops baseball caps and pool wear where these are not allowed in the main restaurant or specialty restaurants at any time shorts and flipflops are not allowed in the evening hours as well now you can wear this stuff to the buffet this only applies to the main dining area and all specialty restaurants if you're like us WiFi at C is very important even while traveling we still have to run our business and stay connected Celebrity Cruise is equipped with the new starlink WiFi and it has two plans to choose from the basic plan and the Premium plan we had the Premium plan and a couple people that we were with had the basic plan they said that the basic plan was okay they were able to do some things but it was a little slow and laggy at times with our Premium plan we never had any issues at all it was just like being on land the internet was fast and loaded our Pages quickly if you need to stay connected then you may want to splurge for the Premium plan if it's not a big deal to you and then you'll probably be fine with just the basic plan so when it comes to the overall feel of the ship I think it has a more laid-back sophisticated feel this seems to be a more laid-back relaxing ship than you would fine with a rural Caribbean Cruise Line Service overall was great however and the widespread upselling of drink packages and specially dining particularly during the first 48 Hours of the cruise can be somewhat off Pudding we were asked numerous times about specialty dining even while we were eating lunch they could become a little pushy uh trying to get you to purchase this but after the second day that pretty much went away I don't know if maybe they sold out or all of the spots or if they just gave up or what but uh it got better after about the second day overall we had a great time on the celebrity reflection and I think it's a great option for those who are looking for a more relaxed laid-back Cruise feel I don't think I would recommend this for families who are looking for a lot of activity or Cruisers who need something to keep them constantly entertained even though we saw a variety of Ages on the cruise I would say that the demographic seem to lean a little towards the older Cruisers I hope that you found this video useful and if you did
