Missing child Sabrina Allen found after 12 years of searching

she was kidnapped when she was 5 years old now 12 years later after a secret rescue mission this Mexico Sabrina Allen is back in the United States it's a story Fox 7 has been covering from the beginning box editor Rudy cos he was the first to break the good news this morning he's joining us now Rudy Meyer Christine Sabrina's father Greg Allen said he got the news about her rescue yesterday while he was sitting in a dental chair getting his teeth clean this afternoon he was all smiles although he has yet to be reunited with the child that he lost so long ago it's been 12 years since Sabrina Allen was kidnapped Wednesday afternoon federal and local authorities announced the search for her is finally over today is a new day a new beginning those words were not lost on Greg Allen Sabrina's father this has been a long road a room is ready for Sabrina and Greg Allen's Northwest Austin home but through the years it has gone through some changes like his daughter these renderings show how the cute five year old is now a 17 year old a father-daughter reunion has not yet happened but when it does Greg says it will begin with a simple request I'm gonna ask her if I can give her a hug she uh she's in pretty bad shape as my understandings the nightmare for Greg began in 2002 when his ex-wife Dora Lawrence did not return from a court-ordered visitation with Sabrina several rescue attempts were made over the past few years and despite all the failures Greg refused to give up hope the last weeks have been quite a roller coaster you know are they gonna get away again they've gotten away so many times but they didn't get away and we're here so now we're really focused on what needs to come next this special operation was launched about four weeks ago when investigators got a tip and that tip led authorities to a small apartment where Sabrina and her mother were living the secret rescue mission took place in a town southeast of Mexico City Tuesday morning by the evening Sabrina and dar were on a commercial flight bound for Houston and a phone interview one of the team leaders Phillip Kline described the trip home there were a lot of Tears last night on many sides whenever you have a fugitive that's been on the run with a child for 12 years I think the emotions finally let loose Darin Lorenz is charged with aggravated kidnapping and was booked into the Travis County Jail Sabrina she's been taken to a special facility to help her adjust to her new life it's not expected to be an easy transition my understanding is that she's been subjected you know intense parental alienation and we have a long road ahead of us but for the first time in more than a decade it will be a journey taken as a family greg has since remarried and has other children who have never met their older sister and he tells me that they can't understand why she isn't home yet and why they can't see her and like their father they're desperate to see her there's no timetable though as to when that will happen Bertie what else do we know about her life while in Mexico but we asked Greg about that and we said that it's her understanding his understanding that her mother's and Sabrina spent most of the time holed up in an apartment she didn't go to school in her teenage years and we're not quite sure exactly what they were doing where she was working who was supporting them and also as far as the capture the FBI US Marshals office they were involved who actually got her now we understand that the FBI was there on scene and also the a special recovery team a private investigation recovery team but it was the Mexican police and the Mexican immigration agents who actually made the arrest I'm also told that there was a brief struggle and one Mexican officer was injured but she's expected to recover from her injuries great story Thank You Rudy
