this is my rat candy oh wait I mean this is my cat Randy she is cute cuddly and a sadistic murdering psychopath I greatly desire to harvest her skull but since I've been told that may injure her I figure the next best thing to do is to make one but not just a regular cat skull oh no but the coolest cat skull to ever exist the sabertooth cat also known as the Smilodon imagine it walks into the room with a bunch of other prehistoric mammals like the Gigantopithecus megatherium direwolf and Mastadon and it's like hey guys I'm the Smilodon anyways I digress and the thing we're going to make it out of is this billiard eightball why because it's really cool and it makes a good thumbnail and the tools we're going to use in order to make this is my rotary CA and also a bits I was sent to by of bits sent to me by ironically Sabertooth I promise this is not sponsored by them we're going to give them a shot see if they work out and I'll go ahead and put a link to their stuff in the description if you want to check it out okay the first bit we're going to use is this diamond Bell not from save a tooth basically the reason I want to use this one it's very smooth I just want to remove the glossy finish so I can then draw designs onto it and be able to actually see them now that we've removed the glossy finish I'm going to use a cheat code it's very looked down upon in the art Biz but it's called a [Music] reference and the first thing I think I'm going to do is decide okay so I want the eight to be right [Music] here after we have our Center Line I went ahead and made this oval shape which I'm going to carve down to kind of create a flattish spot that'll allow to draw the pattern on a little less distorted and the bit I'm going to use to do that is a sabertooth [Music] bit wow that's unexpected let us try something else okay I think I may have figured out a solution I took some polymer clay and smooshed the ball into it so that after baking it acted like a cradle so that I could grind away a perfectly concentric flat spot which then glued into the Cradle the flat spot would align the ball in a way where I could cut off the eight on the opposite side perpendicular to the center axis that way after removing another slice I would realize all of that was a complete waste of time mainly because of the steel wire running through the entire center of the ball you don't want to be like this this is disgusting but thankfully through the magic of editing you don't have to wait for the new ball to arrive and for me to do all of the aformentioned stuff to it which brings us to now so you probably noticed that while carving just a few seconds ago I carved right through the eight like it disappeared which is kind of a big deal because the whole you know eight ball if there's no eight then it's just a ball so I had an idea the eight actually only goes about an eighth of an inch deep but the skull in fact one moment please here's a print off of the skull if you put it on a regular ball there's too much material above it that has to be ground down and by the time I got to the top of the skull the eight would be gone just like you saw so my idea is to lower the eight further into zabal so that way when I carve it I won't carve away all the way through it oh by the way yeah I just glued that on with some super glue I don't know this whole video may not actually happen because it won't work but if you're watching it than it did so hooray all right enough celebrating let's get start carving [Music] so now that we have our side profile cutout the way we want we're going to go ahead and do it again but to the top and I can hear you right now saying but barie why did you cut its big teeth off e sorry and my response to you is oh do shut up and trust me so the reason I removed the teeth is because not only will it be way easier to carve the in the mouth but also I thought it would be really cool to make them out of a CU ball so you know this is another type of bilard ball just the white one that you hit with the stick it's the perfect color and it'll make my life easier and that's what we're going to do okay like before I draw on the silhouette outline then again like before I create a polymer clay support that after baking and gluing it on will keep it stable and upright when cutting it out on the Bane [Music] saw and while we're at it let's go ahead and cut a slice out of the C Ball [Music] and now we carve slowly rounding over corners and carving in divots referring back to the reference frequently so we know how deep to go and where to carve [Music] okay now that we've gotten to this point um we're just going to need to keep going and if you would also like to keep going and not give up may I recommend checking out this video sponsor better help I know I've spoken about my issues with anxiety panic disorder before but this time I want to tell you about my very first experience with it I was in my early 20s I'd gone to go see a movie and I was sitting there in the theater and all of a sudden my chest started feeling super constricted and I thought my heart was doing this like flip-flopping thing which made me think I was having a heart attack I sat there sweating and having full body trimmers for the entirety of the movie which really sucked but thankfully I've outgrown most of those symptoms and the main thing that helped me get through all of that was therapy some of the reasons why I really like better help besides being affordable is they make it incredibly easy to connect with one of their over 30,000 licensed therapists who are trained to listen and give you helpful unbiased advice in usually as little as 48 hours all from your phone or computer you just fill out a short questionnaire then they automatically pair you with a therapist and if for some reason it doesn't work out you can always switch to someone else so if you want to take ownership over your mental health like I'm doing then consider clicking the link in the description or you can go to betterhelp.com bobbydukearts and sign up to get 10% off your first month and so you can connect with a therapist and see if it helps you too so basically as you can see here just carving comparing like obviously the darker shaded areas here are sunken in see how I just kind of carved in there through here just open up those spots for the jaw doohickey to go up into the other jaw doohickey thing open up and uh yeah my goodness you are a disgusting grass uger of a man please love me ew no we broke up ages ago and plus I'm married I bet you don't even remember my name I do remember it's Captain Jack Maro bone Cold Steve Austin moli skulkin Bone Jangles Indiana bone John bone Joy James bone no it's Charles well let's get back to carving [Applause] [Music] so so [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] hey honey what are you doing oh uh I was I was just doing our taxes okay well dinner's ready okay we're pretty much done I take that back I lied I just lied just then I was a liar because we still have to carve out the little holes for the big twofers up front and then glue the go in it later down the road but right now we got to sand everything but also you got to sand it in a way that doesn't sand out your details you've carved so that means you have to sand with the flow keep sanding until you've sanded but after sanding we must polish oh look I'm a smile iton if you're not careful I may smile at [Music] you okay enough of that that's stupid let's get back to [Music] [Music] work hey finished it's guys [Music] but wait before you go click the link in the description to my new merch store and if you want to look really cool while looking cool while supporting me directly then buy something we've got hoodies and shirts and nothing else and hats I mean look at that adorable child
