last time and i made sure that he only mentioned my name at the beginning of the of the show and after that my homeboy vex but you can understand my situation come on understand your situation be objective less than we are not even sure if we're going to live to see half of 103. so listen we just had to do that man yeah man i understand i understand we had baptism i'll tell you what happened first ella called me and said from i saw the phone ring and i saw his name and looked up and saw his name say yes you know i'm in trouble no yes that means they're ready to start so by the time we went over and we started to do the you know one and two little things and so forth and we were doing the social distancing and we were within our numbers yes and i i you know you looked on your clock and you saw oh gosh it's 2 25 p.m and i have not told ella jackson yeah you heard it here first on ejc virtual church bible class i forgot all about ella joe last week because i was so overwhelmed with um the 103rd celebration and we had a great time um mom and dad represented you um you you you weren't missed that's fine that's right i was here holding it down yeah i will vote because i watched this program over last night just to make sure because i only catch the part last week when you were referring to a special someone i'm like so well you know i've known me you know you just threw me away like that no man i would never do that i would never do that uh how are you doing i'm doing well or no i'm doing fine where were you today churches are closed where do you think i'm soils so we looked at the wayward the wayside soil the rocky soil the foreign soil and the good soil so you had a good teaching experience everybody in the air had a name because you're the way award one and jody's well we had a great time this morning tuned in to listen to um sister little trivia listen the girls dropped my words yes ma'am come on i've been catching it later in the week yeah yeah we have been if you're wondering what we're speaking about we're actually speaking about project 1.214 which is happening at agle park um with uh with the young professionals group and trevine little has been speaking for this week and she really has been decoding the word of god and today she just dropped it boom boom boom it was really um i i really liked the the spiritual tone the spiritual focus and the spiritual insights that she has been given for the entire week yeah yeah so i was at hp today yes yeah i was at hb today ejc virtual church bible class yes it's good to see the largest bible class anywhere uh yeah yeah you all know that you all know that so drop us a little love in the in the chat where we're going to be bringing up our presenter in shortly we have been looking in in 2021 on on a focused series so what we're doing and we have an exciting one coming up in april yep ella joe and i signed off on that this week so we signed off on what is going to happen um in april and we're going to be doing it differently again so what we're trying to do is to ensure that you cut you consistently have a stream where you're able to understand the word of god in a systematic way so we're not just jumping all over the place every week we're going to be building up on each of the things that we'll be doing and then you're going to see we're going to go back into a focused prophecy focus on prophecy in the month of may and uh then we're going to do sanctuary we have we have things lined up for you so stay with stick and stay with us right here on ejc virtual church so this month elijah we are actually looking on key principles in bible study key princesses and bible study because many times individuals are actually many of us in the church well not you not me clearly but um many of us in the church are not aware as to how to give a bible study what to do and and even for those of us who do it we can always learn and sharpen our skills and that is why we have who do we have we have pastor sadiq beckford yeah he's the senior pastor of the rollington district of churches and he was here with us last week via zoom and this week we'll have a little twisting up going on a little change in it he will be with us live in studio oh today he will be live with us in studio if if we could get him in the studio right now he was actually yeah don't worry about you know he's i'm not here on the set so but yeah and my producers are going to be on us because i see one of them sitting around the back i'm not going to call her that's one of them sitting around the back so i know she's just waiting to tell us time time and and we're gonna be like um let's see if we can do that up again um kathy ann says welcome back pastor oh thank you so very much somebody welcomed me back did the ella joe welcome back a while ago oh he didn't do that i don't think he actually did that did you welcome me back home welcome back thank you yeah after one week uh victoria thomas happy school pastor oh juliette buckley uh we have a number of individuals here joining us live really appreciating this um really really yeah thank you so very much let's keep the link going and so we have with us in studio today um pastor sadiq bradford the pastor for the rollington seventh day adventist church and he has been sharing with us what he refers to as biblical scene investigation investigation so i don't know if we're going to continue this year and welcome welcome pastor pastor hey how are you doing i'm good you you're just coming out of the pool uh not quite so everything else was in the pool but it was um hard almost say the wrong thing it was a heartwarming experience to see men and women give give their hearts to the lord jesus christ and for that amen indeed grateful how many how many got baptized today look at that three from wellington town seventh adventist church yeah three from north street it was a combination today right after that we give god thanks and so you know if you could see heaven there's a big party right now in heaven and for that we are grateful all right all right so we're gonna throw it to pastor sarika beckford who's gonna bring us up to three o'clock then we're gonna break we're gonna have some music and then we're gonna throw back to him and we're gonna have an engagement on how to do bible studies so at this time pastor siddiqui back for it all right thank you very much and brothers and sisters ladies and gentlemen i am delighted to be with you in studio this uh this time last week i was teaching from home but it is my delight and privilege to be here with us this evening and so before we get to the powerpoint presentation i would like to recap briefly and then we go to the powerpoint presentation i welcome those of you who are online and those of you are ready and are engaged so go for your pens your papers your notepads ipads so on and so forth as we are going to delve into a wonderful study yes last week i did say i was playing csi that's crime scene investigation i downloaded it on my phone i enjoyed playing that game and while i was playing that game the spirit of the lord said to me that bible study is like playing is like csi hence our topic bsi biblical scene investigation i did say that they are three major categories number one in the game is to search for clues search for clues of that is you are sent on a crime scene you should search for the clues the things that you think would identify the culprit the the criminal the perpetrator having done so you must go to the lab analyze the evidence and finally arrest the criminal and i did say that the analogous analogous concepts is the analogous concept is one a searching for clues means observation what does it mean observation that is to observe and analyze the evidence it means to interpret the text in its original context and finally arrest the criminal that means to apply or to contextualize the analyzed truth and ladies and gentlemen uh persons have reached out to me last week and uh based on what was said that persons are enjoying the concept easy to to to follow and i want to let you know that this is for anyone who has a basic literacy uh or numeracy uh the the observation aspect of the presentation this evening promises to be very very interesting and intriguing you can't miss you can't uh skip a beat do not touch that dial stay right with us so just before you get into that part of it we want to make sure that those who are watching and and for those who missed last week who had to watch um and by the way you can watch all the bible classes uh in the order that they have been done they're specially created for us so that you can be able to see them so last week you ended with a point that i wanted to pick up on you spoke about mental preparation when we come to the word of god do we come to the word of god as though we have already understood the word or we come into the word of god to gain insights into the word and i've asked that because ella joelle had read a question from someone which you answered um last week or tried to escape the answer for when you stated that um you know it can you get new insights from the world you like new life new light from the world i would answer that with a quotation from christ object lessons but i'm going to leave it there but go ahead pastor sadiq and and speak to us on that all right so the question was can you find new truth from the text and from my understanding and observation of the text there is a primary truth that is revealed by the holy spirit so i said last week i prefer to answer that question that you can see different perspectives a different angle and what is happening is the truth that is buried in the text is being unraveled it's being revealed in the process of prayer and meditation and contemplation on the text so as um as an interpreter of the text myself i prefer to say that we see different um aspects of the truth that is buried in the text so as i prefer to say uh mental mental preparation uh pastor o is very important and we are trying to ground the idea that as you study for physics chemistry law or anything else you go with that mental preparation and you go knowing that you need to spend some hours you go knowing that you need to learn the technical terms of et cetera et cetera and so that is the mental attitude that one needs as you go into the the text the heart preparation and now mind preparation understanding that you would need to spend enough time studying the word and pastor before you you're stating something that elijah we need to explore a little because the bible was not written in a 21st century world it was not written given our own unders um our own world as it exists right now it did not have the dynamics of the culture and the experience that we actually have no eligible it actually was shaped within a different context which which aligns with archaeology that we were studying what that we looked at last month right in our series and it's very important in la jolla when we come to the text we we first have that understanding and appreciation because many times we're reading the text from a modern perspective and um homolytically we are taught in school to ensure that we first go back to the culture we first understand what the text is saying not what we want the text to say not what we are hearing the text to say because it was written within a particular sphere of time do you think that we in studying the scriptures that we engage in a a a spiritual work which can have negative implications if we don't actually understand the context yes um i right away my mind goes not really so up not really so applicable to the question that you're asked in terms of a negative work um without applying the context but my mind goes to how sometimes we innocently uh juxtapose our modern reality on the scriptures right throughout the earlier books of the scriptures um mostly in yeah up to the judges and so forth there's a term that is used remains on to this day on to this day you know the stones remain unto this and naturally we would and that's sodom and gomorrah is destroyed you know innocently we'll read that and say oh sorry indeed at the time of the writer is actually right exactly yeah up to that point which was thousands of years ago possibly now if if if without understanding the context of the scriptures and applying it to the text at that point in time and then pulling out the principles we would apply our modern culture our modern um the things that we do today right maybe different from the the ancient culture back then we will be applying our understanding to the scriptures and then missing the point of it right and unfortunately sadly what has been done oftentimes in the church is that we apply our modern understanding to a different context in scripture and then we use that as a beating stick over others yeah many times we use some nice bible passages i mean i've listened to some individuals speak and preach and teach and they draw on some wonderful bible passages but it has no relevance to the issue that they're speaking about enough but when when when it is when it is quoted um you get the amines and you get the thing but it has no practical relevance to it i hear what is smith helping me out with gospel workers page 310 um it says quote while we hope must hold fast to the truths which we have already received we must not look with suspicion upon any new light that god may send end of quote all right i'll take that one add another one from christ object lessons but i'll bring it up at another time i'm going to allow pastor sadiq his time to share with us the presentation that he has go ahead pastor sadiqi over to you all right thank you very much so at this time turn your attention to the screen at this time bsi biblical scene investigation first insight on how to study the bible now we are at this step the three steps to biblical interpretation three steps the biblical interpretation and that this chapter we at this step we are praying lord help me to see for as you see three major steps observation you're asking the question what does it say the second step is interpretation or or exegesis i will talk about that what does it mean it's very important what does it mean and finally we're asking the the question what does it mean to me but before we get to what does it mean to me you first need to know what is there and what did it mean or what does it meant and that is to say how it was perceived by the ancient uh people and this is very important most of us we go to the final final step you open the bible what does it what does it mean that's what we would do we go to the bible what does it mean before we spend some time so bible study it's like a portrait it's like a portrait i want you to imagine you are an artist and you are typing you're going to paint and as you you're painting here it is that this is indistinct it's not you're not too sure what is happening but as you continue to paint as you continue to paint there is it's getting more distinct you're seeing the form things are coming together nicely things are coming together and it's coming together you can see okay that it's looking like that a portrait so before you get to the personal application the process you need to go through the process that will help you and so ladies and gentlemen the as was said the first a principle is observation the first principle is observation and what does it mean searching for clues that is observation in the game to search for clues means to observe one of uh i like this story about two um lawyers sherlock and watson once sherlock asked watson on a crime scene they were at a crime scene and sherlock asked the question watson how many steps are there sherlock said he doesn't watch and said i don't know uh sherlock asked have you seen the steps before he said i always see them and so brothers and sisters watson see the steps but he didn't observe the steps very important it was the steps were seen but not observed and sometimes being unnoticed doesn't necessarily mean it's invisible sometimes we read the passage and there are some things that we didn't see that doesn't mean it is invisible it means it must be noticed one of my great uh friends dr larson says you cannot interpret what you didn't see you cannot interpret what you didn't see so we must observe before we interpret that's where we are we must in before we interpret look at the screen tell me what you see do you see an age woman do you see an aged woman or do you see a young woman what do you see an aged woman or a young woman you could zoom in and pass the op for him i want to let you know that i am what is it nearsighted that means so i'm really trying uh i really no really seriously i'm trying to figure it out uh bring it back up again what do you see the both of them are there both of them are there yeah that thing that looks like the ear all right so we we move on in the chat tell me what you see in the chat tell me what do you see it's very important for you to observe let's let's look at the some examples and i hope that you can see this tell me observe what are three difference you see in the drawing and so my co-hosts will help me here uh look at the draw and tell me quickly three difference that you have seen in the drawing three difference just one two three in the chat you could also uh communicate to us i hope that we could see uh three difference the picture at the bottom there the window is missing on the hose the window is missing a little could you bring it up back thank you yes windows 17 on the right that thing is missing from underneath it that window thing on the right there is okay yeah i'll take another one and move on in the chat tell us you're observing 3d friends that you and the hand is one one of them has something like a watcher or something on that bracelet oh the lady that's running with the what looks like a phone that's disconnected all right thank you somebody's saying well the cord is longer all right all right let's look at the other one we won't have time to look at this but what we are what we have just done is to pause and observe very important point as we go forward i think it was plato who said those who wish to succeed must ask the right preliminary questions and as you get into the text you must ask the right prelim questions every journalists every journalist knows how to ask the right questions and let us look at some of the questions the journalists journalists ask they call them the five w's and h number one who is speaking as you are reading the text i want you to ask the question who is speaking you are observing who are the recipients what is repeated you are observing these things what is happening where is this taking place at a temple at the church wherever it is taking place you're asking the relevant questions what is the literary form if i were to say once upon a time what you what what what would you expect me to do to tell you a story a fairy tale stuff a fairy tale absolutely you need to ask and we will we will spend some time looking at that i want to parenthetically insert at this time that the god we are hard wired to hardwire to interpret narratives over 40 percent of the bible is narrative why that's very important but we'll spend some time on that as we go forward what is the context what is the context what do you what do you taste as you read the passage isn't that interesting what do you taste or you smell what are you hearing what you are doing is you're observing the passage that's what you're doing what can you feel what do you smell do you smell of issa's a pottage or stew that his brother gave him do you smell it where is this taking place very important you're asking the right questions to observe what is said when is it happened how is the truth illustrated and how is the what is the emotional state of the characters these are very important ladies and gentlemen for you to observe you want to know what is in the passage and on your screen you're seeing there as you read most of us when we read our imaginations uh do not come alive what do you see bring that bring that back please what do you see the colors the patterns the shape the size what do you smell what do you feel is very important as you observe the passage and so let's practice so john chapter 11 verse 1 uh it says after these things jesus was can see was walking in galilee for he was unwilling to walk to judea because the jews were seeking to kill him so let's ask the relevant questions who was walking no not too fast that's who who was walking yes the the answer was given there who was walking jesus was walking you are observing the passage who was walking when was he walking according to the text when was he walking after these things after these things what is after these things what are these things you need to when having asked that question seeing that john 7 verse 1 begins this uh this is the beginning of the chapter for you to answer this question then it's prudent for you to go to chapter six to find out and to define what are these things where was jesus walking where was walking according to the text he was walking in galilee not in judea why why was he walking the text says because he they he was unwilling to walk in judea that's what the tech said why because the jews wanted to kill jesus i hope ladies and gentlemen what you are seeing is that as you are observing the text you are asking the right question you are not applying anything to your life you are not interpreting at this time for the teaching process i will distinguish them like that i know over the years as you study sometimes you do one and the same thing at the same time but for the teaching process see you ask the text the right question and you find the answer proverbs 31 1-3 very important passage we know this passage here's the question how many times the word sun is mentioned how many times i leave you so answer that how many times i see i say three three times son is being mentioned right who ruined kings according to the passage pastor obi who ruined kings according to the passage who online who ruined kings how many times the word listen is mentioned all right so pastor always asking the question if women ruin kings oh i don't you don't hold the microphone and say you you don't want this master to say that all right all right how many times the word listening is meant is is mentioned i leave you to answer that but i hope that you see this is what it means to observe you are looking at the text as a detective is crime scene what is and this as you look at matthew 14 25 shortly before dawn jesus went out to them walking on the lake when the disciples saw him walking on the lake they were terrified and they asked the question is it a ghost they said and cried out in fear what is the emotional what is the emotional state of the disciples there's terror there's fear they're afraid they were afraid naturally so cause you know it's a ghost or that's what they believe and here's a question what was what were they afraid of the ghost or the storm or both what do you say as as you ask the question the text is right question why should they be afraid if jesus is with them you will see the text in different ways when you ask the right question right we are not interpreting so you can't disagree with me i'm just showing uh you uh as we go forward we know this text about the the the synagogue leader who came to jesus he pleaded earnestly with jesus why he pleaded earnestly with jesus why why did he plead with jesus verse 23 there my little daughter is dying please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live aha so he was desperate was he if you ask the text the right question familiar text that you know where did this happen was it at a church a temple was it in the in the open field as it were was it on the street where did this happen i hope that you see is very important every text you have read before pause and ask the right a question here's another familiar one the woman with the issue of blood and we wish we had time to really observe a number of things that are happening how many years she was bleeding for real quick yes i heard somebody said 12 years yeah 12 years she was bleeding for how did she feel did the text say can you be imaginative if someone has been bleeding for 12 years how did she feel how did she feel yes was she broken asking these questions why would she go back to why would she go to jesus the text said she had suffered many things under the care of many doctors but now she mustered the strength to go to jesus is it this woman like your neighbor who has been going through a lot but perhaps your neighbor has given up and this lady has not why what made the difference you're asking the right questions um i want you to look at the middle of this all right that paul uses the sarah and agar to make a point right and these things are being taken figuratively the woman represented two covenants one covenant is from mount sinai and bears children who are to be slaves the question is how did paul illustrate the truth about covenants how did you do it it's right there in the text but if you ask the right questions then the right questions then you will get the right answer and we could spend we could spend the rest of the evening to really look at this and to ask all sorts of questions but time weren't permitted ob oh yeah professor i i'm following you with the narrative application because it's easy to ask the question with the narrative but when you get to some of the pauline epistles it's no longer necessarily a narrative as its much deep theology how would we then apply that same principle within the scope of the non-narrative aspects of the biblical text the same principle same principle you're asking who is talking paul what did he say perhaps he said present your bodies for example as a living sacrifice to whom he said these things who are the recipients as you listen to paul did and i'm going ahead of myself right here because a part in the presentation you will see that sometimes that paul in galatians shocked the is a shocking statement we say an emphatic statement and what did paul say paul went right into this address to them in galatians in the book of galatians he didn't say hello he didn't say hi you didn't say how are you just right to them then you pause and ask why did paul do that that why did paul do this usually he wouldn't have you can ask the same five questions when where how in narratives and pauline epistles all right get the point loud and clear pasta because i want to make sure that before we get to 3 30 we cover as much ground as possible um so you're saying the first aspect of it is probing i would call it probing yes you you probe the text so you don't just um you're it's not just reading of the text is asking yourself questions that can help you to better understand the text correct absolutely all right so let's this is ejc virtual bible class we're here we're going to go straight to 3 30 um if you're just joining us we are actually going through some bible study guides um tips for how you can be able to understand the bible in a clearer manner and you have been engaging so far with pastor sadiki in the in the chat have been following it uh so thank you so very much keep your questions coming and uh towards the end of the program we'll then interface with him with some of the questions that you may have pastor all right thank you all right getting very interesting so we go on also we need to observe things that are repeated related compared and contrast let's get right into this all right so some specific things to observe you want to observe reasons what does the bible say as it relates to the reason for this or the reason for that let's look at this you we want to observe results for doing thing and i think that there is an example here ephesians 5 4 let no unwarsome word proceed from your mouth but only such word as is good for edification right edification according to the need to the moment that it may give what grace to those things you're observing this you're observing reasons yes i have to pause there because this is so important to bible study many times we just get the the dictate and many times we just get the lined text but what you're saying pastor is that we must go beyond just the mere uh dictate and understand the rationale behind it absolutely and that is very key ella joel to understand in many passages in the bible i've heard people take bible passages out of context when the context is specific to a particular rationale and they take it out apply it to something else not understanding they're taking it away from the rationale so a very good point there um students and i want you to bear that in mind thank you thank you we're observing contrasts very important very important contrast we are observing comparisons we are observing illustrations and there is a text here we know this eli did this but samuel that is a contrast and uh sometimes you see this contrast in what is called biographical contrast you see the first time well the life of is the life of sorry eli sons versus the life of samuel you are observing that you're observing comparisons illustration for samuel you're observing comparisons absolutely watch these comparisons then shall the kingdom of heaven be lightened onto ten versions that is what you are making notes so in your bible study you're underlining lightened you are highlighting that word you're circling that word for your observing comparisons that is very important for interpretation very very important for interpretation and look for word like as as like usually in the kjv that's how it tells you that there's a going to be a comparison right anyone who listens to the word of god but does not do what it says is like you get that right a man who looks in the mirror etc etc comparison you're observing uh comparison right i know that is you are observing uh comparisons and a metaphor um i want you to look carefully at this keep me as the apple of your eye keep me as the apple of your eyes a time won't permeate to me to get into like some metaphors very very simple i'm saying very simple if you can read the gleaner paper you can read the bible like this observing the conversa the conventions of grammar for a better understanding for the holy spirit did speak through languages all right let's rush on a little bit i think it's going to get a little bit more interesting here we you want to observe repetitions yes first corinthians chapter 13. how many times you have read charity and charity and charity uh repetition and this is not just true for the narratives but also true for the epistles all right god gave them over that's um romans chapter one god how many times god gave them over god gave them over underline those underline those how many times god does that uh by a biographical contrast we'll look at a little bit on that already so i will skip just to maximize our timed need to questions you want to observe the questions that are asked shall we sin that grace may abound you need to uh under underline the question i preached on the the uh revelation chapter 6 17 ask the question who shall be able to stand another question adam where are you adam where are you and i think i'm um oh boy you're praying for me this is so important and i think i may just have to uh we may just have to stop here but i want to show you something here that's very important and that is uh important importance of connectives right and and my god shall supply all your needs but the connectives now go go forward go forward a connective in grammar connectives in grammar is anywhere that connects phrases and clauses all right and this is we see this so many times in the bible but shows contrast it's very simple you're observing these things you were dead in sin and trespasses but god that's a contrast you as you study the bible underline that because there's two opposing ideas that you need to interpret as you go on john 3 16 but have everlasting life those who don't have god don't have everlasting life but have everlasting life very of important i hope that you are catching these and learning as we go forward the kjv has this word but now shows contrast too but i was afflicted i went astray but now i keep my word all right so i will skip this but now you see uh that their terms of conclusion what time do i have you guide me terms of conclusion for because therefore so that and for this reason i'll show you share with you a few of the examples of this and think that's it therefore all over the bible you will see that therefore no notice that chapter 1 chapter 5 verse 1 begins therefore and if this is a word that tells you that paul is concluding something that was said it means therefore it's only prudent for you to go back to chapters four perhaps three even one to listen to that argument as he builds that argument as the ideas progress and having said abcd d therefore therefore and you want to observe that as your read you're not interpreting at this point you are observing and somebody's saying pastor i have not been doing this for many years i've not been doing this and god has spoken to me god loves me um so pastor i think i could continue without doing this does god use the knowledge you have oh yes will god speak to you just open your bible like this and god speak to you yes he will do that but god wants to bring you to another level god wants to use the best of your fat mental faculties and when god reveals truths that will help you to have a better understanding then god wants us to do so i see it's a copyright well let me go first yes you know pastor i just want to um kind of hang on to that point because many when we go through sessions like this in learning how to study the bible there are many who turn away to say no i don't need to learn from the theologians i need i don't need to learn all of these systematic things and bring in what they perceive to be principles from the world and then applying it to understand scripture but that's not what's happening here what we're doing is taking how the human mind works it's really just logical and yes god speaks to us god can use us god can open our eyes to many things in scripture without us having to go through theological school or go to seminary i didn't go to seminary but there's much that god has taught me from scripture that many believe that i did go to seminary but i did not but it's many of these principles that you're now going through i applied in the study of the scriptures and it's really boring fruits so there's much that we can learn much that can enrich our spiritual lives and bring rich truth out of the scriptures oh yes listen this is interesting but we're down we're down to the wire and there are three bible passages i want you to to work with me on no pasta so let's go let's go let's go we're gonna we're gonna work this i'm not i'm just i don't have you on set or so just come and put up some nice things on screen and talk to my students let's go to acts chapter nine um no let's go to acts chapter eight let's let's go to acts chapter eight and in acts chapter eight there is a very interesting encounter that is the first one and then the second one i'll give you after so acts chapter 8 and verse you can pick up at verse 24. uh um could have given the text again all right acts chapter eight let's pick up at verse 27. okay right verse 27 says walk us through because i'm trying to make sure that we pull everything together as we close off 20 acts chapter 8 verse 27 onwards and he arose and went and behold the man of ethiopia an enoch of great authority under candice queen of ethiopians who had the charge of order treasurer and had come to jerusalem for to worship was returning and sitting in his chariot reading isaiah's the isaiah that should be the prophet then the spirit said unto philip go near and join thyself to this chariot and philip ran thither to him and heard him read the prophet isaiah's and said understand this thou what don't read us verse 31 and he said how can i except some man should guide me and he desired philip that he should come up and sit with him verse 32 the place of the scripture which he read was thus he was led as a sheep to the slaughter and like a lamb done before his sharer so opened he not his mouth in his humiliation his judgment was taken away and who shall declare his generation for his life is taken from the earth and the eunuch answered philip and said i pray thee of whom speak the prophet this of himself or of some other man verse 35 then philip opened his mouth and began at the same scripture and preached unto him jesus i think this is a perfect way for you to tie up your entire bible class let me see you do it now pastor let's go yeah all right so what we have been looking at is observing and observing the passage that's what we are doing and so you we three are going to be doing that this evening and you you also so we are not interpreting we are observing so as you read the passage you are asking the the question number 20 verse 25 27 for dropping that i'm not too sure if this is the literal unit of this passage well maybe i'm saying something i didn't teach you i'm not too sure if this is a literary unit that we that has a certain that single idea but say we jump in at 27 and he arose and went who arose i don't know who arose and went and he he saw a man of the the ethiopian eunuch so what does that mean ethiopian eunuch is it a person whose uh can to produce children i don't know some i'm writing i'm making notes in the bible is who is the ethiopian eunuch um does this mean that this person is from ethiopia i need to observe these uh of things as i go on and uh so you you can help me join even yeah pastor you mentioned some things between last week and this week that i think are just captured right here in the midst of this text because this is philip with the ethiopian eunuch and he's on israel the holy spirit says to him listen need you to go on hitch to hit yourself to his card and actually help him and it shows the number of questions that you said he ought to ask because in verse 34 the eunuch actually asked him i pray thee of whom speaketh the prophet of himself or of some other man because here is he reading the passage has no understanding in respect to what the passage or whom the passage is speaking and here comes philip enroute by the holy spirit and he now is able to give him insight into the passage now many times in reading and in studying the bible you need help so even after you would have probed you might have the question in your mind but you would need to go to some source to actually find some help with the text and that i think is what a lot of individuals don't do eligible they don't invest in spiritual tools to assist them with with the understanding of the text their individuals who believe okay i can just take up my bible and start reading and that's it and as pastor sadiq has said the lord can indeed reveal to you anything in his word he that's the lord the question is i think what pastor um sadiq coming here if you if you want to it is saying is that in probing we must also be open to the fact that we may have to gain insights or help from someplace else absolutely that that that would definitely be the next step and that is interpretation for at this point like a detective you're going to the crime scene you don't know what has happened you're just looking perhaps fingerprint may be on this you're asking the right questions so here in the passage as you have a lighted pastor at this point you are not exegeting you're not interpreting your ass you're probing that's right where where was he coming from this ethiopian eunuch why the book of isaiah i mean you have exodus you have the the five books of moses are important books but why isaiah why isaiah 53 it it well i say isaiah 53 how do i know that but you you you are you are asking why isaiah where in isaiah was he reading when you do that you have a better of what was communicated or what the holy spirit revealed so when when it comes for to interpretation it is 90 even to 100 that your interpretation would be spot on for the holy spirit is guiding you to see what was communicated and then the holy spirit will guide you how to interpret and thus apply let's go let's go past the study here because this is getting interesting listen don't miss this an idea simpson is asking the question that i really want us to get to can you get the help from the holy spirit and i i before we answer the question i need your um ella joy to come with me to acts chapter 10 i need you to go to acts chapter 10 and i i need you to to to explain that passage because the coming of the truth to the gentiles did not happen overnight it was not just a smooth transition but the holy spirit worked in a different way to actually get the insight talk to us about that so in this passage we find that there's a centurion a man by the name of cornelius a roman centurion he he's a devout man he's a man of faith but he's not a man of religion because he's not of the jewish faith but he believes in the jewish god and he he carries out the rights he prays and so forth and god comes to him in our vision to tell him to send for man named peter right now around the same time peter himself has received that vision from god and in that vision he's shown this this this sheet descending from heaven and it's filled with all sorts of unclean animals right and um peter here is the voice of god he knows the voice of god and god is instructing him to get up to kill what he sees in the sheet rise no peter says no lord and he enters into this conversation with god to say i i have never eat anything come on anything unclean from my birth until now and god tells him what i have called nothing that i have made common or unclean and this goes on and on pause but just before you go on with the story that fits in with the very thing that pastor siddique is saying of probing because when he heard the voice of god he he knows what the word has already said and said so he what he does is say that listen lord this no not in commandant peter's ever come so the word of god coming to us in the present moment must be consistent with the word of god already established yes but in addition to that um i i don't want to kind of venture into the interpretation part no we we're not going to the interpretation but but um many of our brothers and sisters of different faiths take this passage as one um as as as as reason for christians eating things that god has declared right because that's common and that's the interpretation that's the interpretation but what we need to understand in probing this is that what god is using similar to what paul had done when he made reference to sarah and agar the two women in order to bring across this this this teaching of the covenants similarly god is using a metaphorical kind of symbolism to bring this across the people the same point that he was raising again so we remember pastor sadiq he spoke about the fact that we should look out for comparisons contrast metaphors etc so even in this very chapter we are seeing ella joel the application of the principles that pastor has been saying so with the probing that peter did peter was able to gain an insight and i'm not going to jump ahead of pastor siddiqui because he hasn't gone into interpretation yet but i wanted to recognize that even when we hear the word of god we ought to probe it and this is why the the people in thessalonica and the people in berea were actually put up as an example by paul as individuals to be modeled after in bible study because they sat they listened they wrote they they took copious notes then they went home and they studied again what happens today is that many persons are are not taking any notes are not recording or not digesting it and not going to study it again so the idea that pastor is saying i am showing you is very real and the question nadia asks in respect to um yes elijah's mic is a little low for true um the the question that um nardia simpson has raised is one that is very germane what one is very important do we need something else other than the bible to understand the bible or can we just come to the lord pour out our hearts to the lord and the lord give us the insight i think that's a very critical question and um pastor i'm going to turn it back over to you oh yes last week i shared a text that the holy spirit who inspired the bible the word of god he is the one who will interpret the word of god and some theologians call this process the process of illumination says the holy spirit who will reveal to you the truth of the text and that's a very important and that is why the process of observing interpreting and applying is a prayerful process you are saying in step one observation lord help me to see interpretation lord help me to understand and finally lord help me to apply and so that's very important and that makes the difference between an agnostic scholar a perhaps and a child of god that the a person who is not born again it's not dependent on the holy spirit no we perhaps know some of these things that i'm teaching they are very good in interpreting the bible but as it relates to the intent of scripture it's not just the gathering of information or to interpret it on a basic level that the ultimate the ultimate intention of bible study is for transformation of life you and i must be born again the holy spirit must changed us and he's the one who will definitely guide us in understanding indeed the holy spirit does but i don't know pastor beg for it is answering the question because the question passed the book for it is all right let let me take it into romans chapter 10 let's go there romans chapter 10 verse 11 through to verse 15. let me see if i can help to get the answer out today romans chapter 10 11 through to 15. because it's a very important question so romans chapter 10 11-15 who is going to read so this says romans 10 11-15 for the scripture saith whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed for there is no difference between the jew and the greek for the same lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him for whosoever shall call upon the name of the lord shall be saved how then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed and how shall they believe in whom they have not heard and how shall they hear without a preacher and how shall they preach except they be sent as it is written how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things could you repeat the question but the priest yeah so when we say the holy spirit when we say that we are doing the interpretation understanding of the text do we need the holy spirit alone without any other help or do we or or does the lord work through other means as well okay that's the that's the question yes all right do you need the holy spirit alone or do you need the holy spirit and okay um if i try to answer this way if if the question means you only need the holy spirit and you don't know you don't need to know the conventions the convention of of grammar that we're talking about you don't need perhaps to go to school you don't need to read if that is what is asked then no then the holy spirit working through the language working through the study that we are talking about so if that is the question in one sense if you mean that you need the holy spirit full stop and if that means the holy spirit will guide you through the varied processes and that is you study the grammar you look at the historical context the sociological context so on and so forth if that's what you mean yes but if you mean holy spirit doesn't need to use language i respectfully disagree with that if that's what the person means all right ella joe do we do and listen guys uh we we're going up to four o'clock with bible study today so the holy spirit just touch everybody right here ejc producer so we're gonna allow you pastor to go back to your presentation and take us a little deeper but i want elijah to touch on us because that's um it's a it's an important question um ella joelle how do we interplay do i need to have extra biblical tools to be saved let me ask that first question to be saved to be saved no no grace alone let's set a lot so we don't need extra extra biblical tools to be saved clear do we need extra biblical tools to gain a full insight of the biblical context i believe so and i say that because i'm taking it from the angle of spiritual gifts believers are all given different spiritual gifts to some they are given the gift of tongues a gift of um interpreting tongues a gift of so forth and so forth but what i want to get to is the gift of knowledge the gift of teaching the gift of wisdom so there are some individuals whom god has blessed the church through them with this this this this divine inclination to be able to go deep into the word to see things and god opening things up to their understanding from the scriptures no this is not for their personal benefit to go around and be proud and mighty and say oh i'm a spiritual king correct but no this is to feed the flock and to guide the flock into deeper understandings of the truth so from that perspective there we need to honor and we need to respect that god has endowed persons with these gifts and it is from the lord and if the lord has placed the gift within your realm you shouldn't be fighting against the lord to reject the gift and then now there's the other side of it we all need to have that humility to recognize that i can learn from individuals as well some people don't believe that they need to learn from elders and pastors and evangelists um some people in the chat i'm joining with them uh um two individuals say i'm gonna pick out two of them horace williams says sometimes you don't need anything but the spirit and i agree with you sometimes you don't need anything else but the holy spirit um someone has posted a very powerful quote in the scripture um from the bible nathaniel says there are times when the holy spirit will give interpretation without any outside help but there are times when he will guide you to someone who will help and that's true is true but rodney smith puts it this way what he says all other means that shed light on the word of god are used by the holy spirit and also all of them are true you know brethren it's not it's not something that uh there are times when i'm immersed in just reading the bible and i don't need anything else but the holy spirit totally correct but there are times when i come upon a biblical passage and i'm telling you i know the holy spirit has to go help me a little bit more than yeah and i do get that insight and that is the same thing that philip did for the eunuch that's the same thing peter did for cornelius and there are numerous instances in the word of god when jesus came himself and magnified the word of god and he interpreted even the very old testament scripture in a new way to the understanding of individuals so the question yes we need the holy spirit always need the holy spirit but we must also be open to the vehicle or the medium through which the holy spirit makes himself available for us to receive understanding and insight absolutely and and i need to say something right here on that because the using the ethiopian story god leading philip to help him interpreting the text that was the work of the holy spirit when you are by yourself at home and you kneel in prayer whatever you do reading the text and you are just reading the text as it is we sometimes call that the literal sense of the text you read the text you're observing you're using the language you know and the holy spirit speaking to your heart it's the same holy spirit who will lead you to a concordance or a commentary or whatever the the the the that it is so it is the it is still using one method alone to to instruct us because when you share that um a while ago that you know there are times when it's just you the holy spirit and the bible and there are things drawn out of the scriptures to your understanding um just today um this morning i was praying over in my mind that you know i want to study this certain aspect of scripture and i'm going through my head how i'm going to approach it from the scripture and so forth and it was a bit confusing yeah and i i was just in my study and my my bookshelf was there to my left and i really have not done this in a while as student i just looked through the books that were there wasn't looking for anything right intentionally right and i just came across this book that a friend of mine who lives overseas had sent down for me and i said you know i don't look through this in a while i pulled it out and when i scanned through the contents and i scanned through the book i realized this is exactly what i want exactly now this is the difference though when when we speak about getting extra biblical assistance when we speak about getting help in understanding scriptures from other persons i'm not going to take all that the person has written hooklang and cinco and run with it as gossip it's still probing like the koreans still probing the probit yeah i'm going to compare it yes so the the the piece of literature it references a lot from sister white and so forth what i did was i i looked looked at the reference of the where that what where that particular quotation was taken from right and then i found the quotation and i read around it correct i kept examining to get some more i found i wrote it beside it to expand upon it and the reality is and folks don't don't miss this the bible was written in a particular culture it was written a particular time the more you get yourself immersed in that culture the more you get yourself immersed in that time the more for example just as how we had the archaeologists coming in on telling us stuff that really blew our minds a couple of weeks ago it helps us to see the biblical narrative in a new way the biblic it doesn't change the truth of god it doesn't take away from the rule and the presence and the vibrancy of the holy spirit but it does indeed shed some critical light ella cephalon coming says i was thought one of the principle of studies is that before drawing a conclusion on a subject as a good student you should look at the materials on the subject including historical and other sources and that's correct you are you are not doing yourself justice as a speech as a preacher as a teacher of truth or as a student of truth if you just just going to say you're going to take up the word and of course the holy spirit can speak to you and save you strictly just like that but if you want to get the full fridge overall understanding of the word you have to go a little bit deeper than that so ella um pastor you have you you have you have seven minutes let's go yes so let me let's go back to the screen um like to share just a little deeper let's go back to the screen as we are looking at things to observe we are also observing expressions of time and that is really you're identifying the time or the sequence of event and in the five questions the five w's this is when that's what you are doing let's look at our text here you want to look at the words until after these things are telling us time then when soon now that's what you are looking at all right and so as you are observing the passage you're observing time the expression of time and let's look on an example the bible says after these things the word of god came unto abram in a vision saying fear not when did the word of god came to him after these things and you need to as you read the text then you will see what time is that very important you're observing your underlining and he took with him peter and the two sons of zebedee and began to be sorrowful and very heavy then said he unto them after he took them he said what he said unto them my soul is exceeding sorrowful it's very important when did he say that then and that is the time he said that very important as we uh press on for the seven minutes here now peter sat without the palace and the damsel came unto him saying thou also was with jesus of galilee when now at that time at that time let's press on a bit and when he was gone out into the porch another mate said to him said unto them that there where they were this fellow was also with jesus then again an expression of time you're underlining when did it happen at that time we continue to observe things like advice admonition and warnings are promises as you read the bible is this a promise to observe is this a warning is this an admonition or an advice go back to that slide it says listen my son listen my son listen my son i i'm admonishing you fear not for i am with you isn't that a promise as you read you're observing these things observation i think you're also observing the atmosphere of the text and this is illustrated by i long for you with all my the affection of christ that's the atmosphere of the text i long for you with all the the affection of christ you want to make a notation as you're observing you want also to notice emphatic statements he will never leave us nor forsake us an emphatic statement you want to circle those emphatic statements he will never do that and uh this is what i was talking about paul says i'm shocked you have left you you have left the gospel of grace from before a different gospel that is a paul said i am shocked and also you want to observe the literary form i'm going to skip this because i'm going to spend a little time with this for interpretation so i'm going to skip that very important and uh go back and pause just for uh 20 seconds here many times when we study the bible we do not give we do not identify the literal form and that is very important and i'm going to tell you why this is so important in bible studies we say meaning is genre dependent all right write that down file it somewhere we're going to get there but let me just press on to something i think that you're gonna like this and we're closing off right here you want to observe design patterns admittedly this will take a little time as you study the bible but i want to let you know that the bible writers have have skillfully through the guidance of the holy spirit place patterns in scriptures and as you study as you read the bible year you will discover them for example seven times in the creation narrative god said i saw that it was good and he gave what was good he gave to adam and eve but as you continued the sad movie that makes me cries this eve saw the fruit and she took it and gave to her husband as you continued to read sarai she saw her handmade and she encouraged her husband to sleep with her and as we we go on next slide so aaron saw the idol he made and he made an altar before it aiken saw the accursed thing and the israelites saw saul other nations having king and this is the pattern look at this pattern they saw they took and the disaster followed that's the pattern and the egypt as a pattern in the bible is very interesting time won't permit us to get into that but as you continue to study the bible you will pick up these patterns right so god saw that it was good he gave it to us and the man apart from christ saw other things and it was bad for us i give you a little tips of interpretation there but as you're reading you're observing these things and we're going to pause we're going to stop right here for uh forward for this session this is it this is ejc virtual bible class don't you just love it i i really do appreciate our bible class team right here at each easter maker conference and for the privilege that we have to share with you truths on the word of god now i've seen a number of questions some of them i won't be responding this week um veronica is asking could you please explain some more on the unclean with peter all right i promise you we'll start with that next week next week we're going to be having dr martin hannah from andrews university to tackle with us some of the most difficult passages in the bible we want you to join with us but i'm also giving you the opportunity if you have any difficult bible passage that you want insight understanding perspective on to put it in the chat at this time put it just just type in the bible passage we'll go back through them and we'll look at them and if we have sufficient time to deal with the number that we have uh because i know dr hannah will be dealing with some on his own then we'll be able to deal with that so the unclean one is is is one that we can touch first thing next week so ella joe right don't for me to do because i'll forget i'll definitely forget somebody else was asking about when we're going to get back to our study in revelation promise you after we finish this series in march we're going to go to a doctrinal a heavy doctrinal matter for april and then in may we're going to be back on bible prophecies with ella joelle and myself so you can bear those things in mind and so yeah i think this is getting um a little excited in here yeah it is and we got extended time we weren't able to finish everything but pastor you have given us key insights on how we can be able to probe the scripture and i think that's the point so whether or not you agree with the biblical scenes in um that's not the issue the point is uh that we are asking individuals in studying to prove ask questions you'll be able to elicit better responses and something pastor that i want us to really have a home is the link between the old testament and the new testament because even in the passage that we looked on with uh with the eunuch and and and philip you recognize that he was reading from the old testament scripture and so that's another key uh pastor you would say oh yes yeah yes absolutely i mean the first century christians remember they didn't have a new testament as we have it now they have the old they had the old testament so they were reading the old testament and as you're going back to revelation we would discover that revelation has many illusions and quotations from the old testament so that is very uh as a matter of fact the whole new testament is built upon the old testament even the very uh the very gospels jesus kept jesus kept rather responding and applying and reinterpreting in the light of um biblical truth uh the the the understanding that the jewish people had out of the day in respect to the word of god this is interesting next week we're gonna turn it up a lot more you can't afford to miss it 2 30 is when we're going to be starting you have to be here and you have to be on time as we take on some of the big bible passages that are very difficult individuals have questions about them it has you know boggled people's mind and so next week we're going to be having our special guest pastor dr martin hanna from the andrews university sharing with us to ensure that we can be able to get some critical insights we have some winners from last week's quiz over to you ella jordan yes we have some winners we have here petrona harris washington god songs like like your voice and what a god give and it it was beautiful it was a blessing as i am sitting here horse from sock service that that was amazing there are no orphans of god dana clark can you speak i'm trying to 10 it was good yes man that's great enjoy ourselves with the lord you know god is good you have to show it of course you have to move your feet sometimes and you know but those of us who can't move his clap game was strong like a rhythm you know a strong club yes ma'am that is what god wants of us a strong club a strong dance a strong amen yeah a strong short eye you see how much giant sim doing yes the lord gave us many many joints just saying amen so theo how are you i am horse i said that already yeah but apart from the hoarseness yes how are you i'm i'm good i'm happy to be here i'm i'm happy to be here with you you all and yeah i'm all right all right well from morning you know today is global youth day and children's day can emerge too um and our young people they have been out in the streets from morning until noah i i assume that some of them are still out there and our theme for today is reaching out act of service prayer technology so we're reaching out through acts of service through prayer and through technology very powerful stuff we're talking about all right uh this morning our speaker was pastor brian shaw we heard from him very powerful sermon there i am called are you called yes you are called you don't have to answer that i can answer it for you you are called theo right and yeah you are called oh okay yeah i was talking about you right and um we also had sister stacia with us uh she gave us a rundown of what global youth day is all about you know us being the sermon us going out and we also heard some of the projects that are being undertaken by the zones right across east jamaica conference no this afternoon theo we're going to be seeing some images of the work that was done today the holy and godly work that was done today yeah sanctified so we have quite quite a bit to look forward to this afternoon would you like to pray as we begin our service i will continue our service i would let us pray just like how you were singing and praising i invite you just pause wherever you are just pause close your eyes as we pray heavenly father we thank you for music we thank you for energy we thank you for that thing that bubbles up inside of us when we are connected to you that makes us cannot help but to praise and to serve you lord our young people have served you today and many are still serving you today and by serving you they are giving your name glory and praise you reminded us in matthew lord jesus that no man lights a candle and puts it under the bushel but they place it somewhere that everyone can see and benefit from the light and our call was let your lights shine so that men may see the glory not my glory but of my father in heaven oh lord as we sing as we pray as we praise as we serve may your name be lifted up may your purposes be carried forward and even as we go through the different aspects of the youth going this afternoon oh lord please inspire us more directions more opportunities more areas give us the means to go further and further in jesus name i pray amen amen amen all right so i believe that brother fringe has uh some information some photos and videos lined up for us so we're going to be taking them shortly i see somebody asking in the chat how is sister adis doing she's doing okay continue to pray for her mom but at least he's doing okay um that is from roxanne nelson smith um so yes she addis is doing quite well thank you so very much for your purse on behalf of her mother all right theo uh anything happened up by your section today in guava gap right there were some packages there were some packages that i believe and if they didn't go today there are people identified for them to go i understand that's a big push for global youth day in in terms of not just the word but actual things that people need are going out to them i know that in zone guava get falls in zone three so i know that zone three the call went out for the packages to be picked up this week i know many people responded came and got their packages so a lot of people are feeling the touch of the adventist church and in so doing feeling the touch of god and the touch of the gospel i'm very happy for that today amen amen theo uh sorry not theo french are we ready for those videos and photographs no the photographs that you'll be seeing are just um they the extent of what happened today and what continues to happen throughout today and also for the rest of the week actually because i know that some churches as theo just mentioned some churches will be continuing their their um deliveries we're seeing here ramble sda church yes um he's getting a care package i think that's a covey care package here you had one of those today uh i needed it i don't have coffee oh you're just having to show them right what is there right so we're going to ask you to go back and we saw content earlier that's rallington tone sda seeing some nice macaroni and cheese some maggi spice it up um and what was that again beans and here is another care package uh being delivered um we're not sure what's in that bag but somebody's being impacted by whatever is in there oh look at that yes yeah nice nice several care packages they're going out and um these things are really required or needed in in this difficult time look at that ministry right there this looks like that looked like the halfway tree was this is zone four because we're seeing the the the back uh-huh this is centaurmas in purple yes yes i'm getting that feeling right right and here's the elderly gentleman again getting his covet 19 package not leaving the young people out yes yes all right uh i'm not even seeing the signs so well to place this ooh masks and it looks like there are some little love notes on there as well i'm sure those are bad passages hey drivers are not left out all right yes connecting with people personally yes not just putting things into their hands but to speak with them and prayer that looks like pastor lewis pastor flynn oh that's pastor fletcher yes he was in pembroke hall today yes 12 or young men at the content gap sda church yeah sister jean boris received her presents from um right water what is life right all right blessing them yes before they go out more masks with the love notes and we're seeing the priority magazines they're seeing a bottle of water and we're seeing some stuff way in the back there now some nice pretty that looks like um that's definitely zone three this is definitely zone three why oh charlton yes i know this lady from shorter yes children our children are out in their numbers so the young people the older people and the children the children kind of together everyone and i think we covered some of those i see you have something sunlight here yes i just came here right with legs by french all right so this is a box that went out today with the care packages um you can see it it says global youth day reaching out i remember to stay safe from your oh i remember to stay safe from your friends the adventists nice all right now in this box here theo we have a hand sanitizer hand sanitizer you know what this is for to sanitize your hands beautiful beautiful class and it's a quite a good size bottle so we have this and then we have a nice pack of wipes all right you see that we're not advertising we're just talking about the wipes and those are for wiping hands wiping hands and surfaces too i guess um yeah so we have wipes times and enough just a quick snap we have a soap want to see it again we have already ready ready soap all right and then we have the all-important mask and then then we have a priority magazine so while we're catering to their coven needs we're keeping them company with the word right sorry physical needs together we can defeat it how fitting how fitting you know with the whole covey package and then to have this magazine also talking about covid so this is what uh we gave out today um just as you would have seen on the various videos and photographs this is the package that was given out today yes they are over to you yeah so in addition to these things there was and there was a concentrated effort to gather people and make friends right it's one of the things that we saw that jesus did and in fact many people call it the jesus method not so much just always going out with with a sermon and and danny i believe that some of the shirts that they were wearing said be the sermon at the back right that has been that has been one of the the the statements that the conferences have been using that our lives are the sermon not just the sermon that like pastor shah preached today but our lives are the sermon so i know a part of global youth day and beyond global youth day is to integrate to make friends of god's people and in so doing pull them into his arms this was something that we discussed i believe last week how last week was possibility awareness week or possibility ministries week and we sent out a call for everybody to not see it as something that the church should do or they should do but that i will do that's what the theme of the year is i will go not danny not a deal not ruthan but i will go they have a responsibility to go for themselves so as the as the young people and our children and many of our adults went out today to deliver these packages they went to connect with people not just to preach but to connect with people and we also have to take on that mission for ourselves right you would be surprised and i challenge you you would be surprised how many of the people that you have interacted with for years don't really know what you believe okay okay hold on they know that you're an adventist but do they really know what you believe or do they simply know what kind of church you belong to you go to the shop twice a week and that lady of said good morning to and paid her how much money and get the stuff have you ever taken the minute to connect with her and connect your faith with her that taxi man who is your taxi val right you're going to call him and say hey you're ready and have you taken a moment to connect that's what i'm trying to bring out here personal connection all right yes go ahead you see somebody no i feel i feel some music i feel some music and you did say that we're gonna we're gonna have some music yes we're going to be having some music quite shortly um from one called minister jones he uses his voice as the sermon and so he is here with us today to minister to our hearts my heart theo's heart and your heart so we do enjoy that we do hope that you will enjoy this musical selection as he comes to us um minister hill kyle jones especially since dany and i and especially since danny i had money casting anymore exactly in a better manner right because otherwise it would have been french or pierre it could have been very rough all right brothers and sisters minister hill kaya all right so we have to um all right so let's check the chat for you and see what they are saying if anybody has been out um today okay milton henry this is nice i want to go with zone one you know milton didn't go with zone one he should have gone yes milton explain yourself yes you should have gone all right i see persons commenting on the song service you haven't seen michael because michael has gone back on his far journey so you'll see him next week again all right um let me see let me see erica hendricks what seems to agree with the whole be the sermon thing erica i'm hoping that's your personal commitment to be the ceremony all right so we just see everybody mentioning um talking about the song service talking about the i will go that they are ready to go as well and we don't we don't just want you to say it you know we don't just wanted to type it in the chat because that is just going a part of the way you have to go all the way god is looking for action he's looking for people who are active you can't stay in your house and then save you tell yourself that you're going you're really sitting down same place you have to actually get up and go and even if you can't move as we've been saying there are different ways that you can get the job done take up your phone man make a call um send a a whatsapp change your status put something on your status that can bring somebody closer to jesus for our young people you guys are always on social media use the digital space for god's glory all right and we don't just want you today alone theo to be the sermon you should be the ceremony every day yes if you if you have to then you know you bring up a wonderful point go ahead if you have to put on the sermon then you're not being the sermon exactly you have the sermon you have on the ceremony yeah maybe you're familiar with the sermon but be the sermon is something that you are enough said right so are we ready no for hill kyle let's now go to minister jones many times i've questioned certain circumstances of things i could not understand see many times in trials weakness blurs my vision and my frustration get so out of hand but it's then i am reminded i'll never be forsaken never had to stand one test alone but as i look at all my the spirit rises up in me it's through the fire my witnesses needs to roam oh yes he never promised that the cross will not be heavy no the hills will not be hard to climb he never offered a picture without fighting but he said help will always come in time just remember when you're standing in the valley of decision and the adversary says give in but just hold on my lord will show up and he will take you through the first again listen i know within myself that i might surely perish but if i trust the mighty hands of god he'll shield the flames again again [Music] he never promised that the cross would not be heavy his will not be hard to claim my god he never offered victory without fighting but he said help will always come in time just remember when you're standing in the valley of the season and the adversary says giving but just hold on my lord will show up and he will take you through your purse again just so we'll know my lord will show up and he will take you through your first again again again amen you know theo that's one of my favorite songs and i have many favorite songs but i like that song sort of defeats it i mean nothing is cast in stone you can you know change danny clark happy sabbath and we are not alone okay good oh hi good day how are you not too bad and you you didn't hear that did you yeah that was just an internal thought but it's fine it's fine we're family right what you hear here beautiful beautiful we have with us this young man right here um and you know i had his name knight tomlinson right so facey the old brain not so bad after all all right and who is sir knight tomlinson uh i feel at night tomlinson is a humble young man uh one that esteems to bring old and live the bible be as perfect as christ was perfect one who tries to touch each one or change each one's life that they come in contact with okay all right you said something interesting here you have a question i want to ask him here because i have one go ahead yes my my absolute first question is that sounds amazing well i don't know what that looks like yes what what is it that was your question i think i like so what does that look like all of what you just said how do you live that out uh for me my life is a bit of how to say it a bit of everything yes so i'm a son an uncle uh a youth leader a student leader a philanthropist uh kind of a counselor a great friend and most importantly a believer in christ how you how you managed to do all of that the man has 28 hours in his day he has one thing 28 hours ah that's the secret you have 28 hours in your day yeah yes no man so how do you manage all of that i mean many young persons are out there saying i'm i'm i have school some of them just have school and church you know them counseling manager so how you manage that long list it goes to show that sometimes we don't know that we're doing it until somebody points it out to us but just know that just you waking up just you maybe even telling someone good morning you are showing them who christ is brother theo i have two questions yeah i i have two questions you want me to just say that i said it doesn't seem weird no it's brother field it's field question it's perfectly fine uh do you mind me asking you how old you are i am 17 years of age all right i am enjoying this ay because some things you wouldn't expect are coming out and i i hope that our 17 year olds and many of our 17 year olds were out today but i hope that those who didn't quite have the strength find a bit of inspiration from where they feel now i am not separate from your knight tomlinson henry so my next question you mentioned the counselor sun believer core is the thing you said last but i think that's the core but you also mentioned philanthropist yes indeed what sort of philanthropy are you involved in uh in 2018 to 2019 i was a youth parliamentarian stemming from that was an initiative that i started called youth voice and since the coveted 19 it changed to fill a voice because we now have to step away from just catering for youths and catering for everybody so we see fewer voice fully voice or theme or or main vision is that everybody that we come in contact with what a young old on the bus or even creeping they must be able to at least say that through us they have one broken stigma two their life has changed and three they have benefited broken what kind of stigma oh dear lord she's asking all my questions you just asked like two guys this is how we work right breaking the stigma breaking the stigma okay during my tenure as a youth parliamentarian we found that inferior studies majority of our youths are unattached unattached meaning that after high school they did nothing so they weren't any doctor they weren't a lawyer they weren't any police they weren't any soldier and let me point out utes these are not the only job these are just the job we hear of coming up but they did not get to be in the job that they chose so they basically thought that you know it's just time for me to just give up but or organization i don't want to see my organization because it's a team and i am a core believer in team because there is no iron team yes so or organization we aim to change all of this and change the concept on how youth think on a whole where or core theme at night's reduction is where bravery meets work so night's production yes where bravery meets work all right continue so in breaking the stigma we try to make it where you seem to think that if they don't attain a certain standard then they have no voice they can't say anything they don't have any input we also show that whatever age you are at where whatever status whatever class you are at you can make a major difference because all voice codes so how do you go about doing this you're saying that you you're breaking the stigma what what methods do you use we first started out with using saint andrew israel so during that time we the discussion on the table was the reintroduction of physics civics in schools and also a retirement age on our leaders so i said that or you should be able to make because reintroduction of civics they are the ones who are going to be taught civics do they want to be taught it is it really important to what they want to do why not let them have a voice so i went to the team and i said team this is our objective we want to cater to the social demographical background whether of the the garrison or whether of the uptown this is where we want to have it this is how we're going to go about it when we look back you know we said no man if you go from this approach they're going to think that no eve if they come they're not going to be able to you know speak freely speak freely rather so let us take this approach and by taking this approach we more than achieved what we wanted to and through that project we decided hey we're going to continue what did you achieve what what were your goals and what of that goal did you achieve our goals was to have a small city like about 10 persons come and they would say what they learned through physics through civics and how it has impacted their day-to-day life we did not get 10 we did not get 20 we did not get 30 but we got 50. on top of that 50 we also had the police youth club there we also had other leaders there and persons who we didn't even expect to be there and also persons from the church was there and we found that not only was it that we thought we would just be or discussion like we would just come and talk talk talk or talk and they just listen call it the food and then just go but it wasn't like that you know one youth it takes one person to stand up say something and then all the others by thinking you know they start thinking and they say you know sir true you know we can also do this and by that the discussion started and by about the end of the year you know our consensus was being given into the datum to create the data in the reintroduction of civics in school i got a question i got a question so i'm enjoying what i'm hearing regarding you know all of this civics and yeah there is a there is a sense i think that um there's an imbalance in between male and female youth in terms most of the times when people say unattached youth they're really talking about unattached men young men have you found have you found that imbalance that you know maybe young men need a little bit more push or or do you find it just you have a good balance across your board in terms of coming into this program or these discussions uh indeed there is not a balanced playing field i say you know the same ratio of male is there to female no in most cases we'll find it that there's more race of males compared to females and especially if we look at the after matriculating from about fifth form through to university we see where the the the numbering of males start to dilapidate as as we continue you know but it goes to show that the males that go through they tell their story that you know it was through this person who gave me an extra push you know it was through that and if you look now into the numbers of persons who didn't of males who didn't go or didn't make it through we realized that either one they were introduced to badness and they thought that you know these are the way you know push god mega you know or they were introduced or they were just forced to grow up most persons were forced to grow up you know father gone more on a business i have a younger brother so they no feel or they know think that the care of this younger sibling or the cure of my life now fall on me to hell with school and you saw you saw kindness and opportunity and involvement indeed as a good a vehicle for this yes hey the the proof is in the what i got the proof is in the pudding i don't like pudding but um proof is in the mango is in the julie manga okay let's be specific right um how do you integrate i mean you just doing it in and of itself is good enough right but how do you know integrate what you know as a christian with what you do at nights nights production yes nights right right knights production is the main company but youth's voice all right that's part all right so the involvement with the name yes how do i integrate what i know with christ now the the motto that we took where bravery meets work came through you know thinking um what's a night what's the main role of a knight and looking it up you see where it's a it's a brave person if you even go on google it's a brave person who did such and such but we are saying we took the approach where most of us are adventists most of us grew up in the adventist church so and we basically learned basically most of our teachings through the adventist church i myself my background as it relates to communication mass communication started at the adventist church and it was through the adventist church through the push of the communication department that you know we started and how we put that is that each time we see you know devotions and even we normally take the approach that we try to take the approach that christ takes whenever time we're doing anything because we know only through christ all things are possible and it is through him that we have our talents right right as i i know that there are quite a few interesting questions in the chat one of the main ones is how can i join but don't answer that yes the answer right here uh my question is who made you do this who who poked you in and said i'm like theo you need to do this get involved in this man who who made it no one it was a free choice yeah my own choice you just woke up one morning and and saw space and filled it it's not that i saw space it's it's that ah how do i see it say it like it happened man come on i'm going to tell you this story when i was five uh i as i said i had a little bit of everything but i didn't i want to say i grew up watching cartoons and like the normal five-year-old would do i grew up watching parliament uh yes so how fun and i i grew up saying you know that during when i was five that was in 2010 so during then was the the dude's encouragement so you know i i was like yes i you know i i said what in 2010 europa i was five oh my god that hurts yeah i feel aged but um don't feel aged i feel hurt like carrying on theo yes so i i grew up and i said to my grandma you know not being able to speak fully at the time i said grandma you know i want to be a politician i must be a politician you know you know i must meet bruce you know he's running the country the wreck is it before him right the country terms of a call remember helping my five-year-old five-year-old okay that was my speech okay you know carl let me help him yeah to run the country yeah and growing up having all these opportunities having friends of different background eat up upper middle lower and you know experiencing it for myself seeing all of this evolving and you know changing and you know saying you know my kiana district because you know evie society people still have a look for me a particular way because i will come from i said i want to be if it's even that only person who shows someone that they can rise above everything i will be that one person theo avisha miller sorry avisha i apologize avisha fuller avijafullah your story is resonating with her and she says wait my age my age i think theo that you're causing some people to look and say but he's my age i'm as all as he is what have i been doing with the talents and the time that the lord has given me one of the questions i have seen uh popping over and over is how do i join this this this movement and one person was 13 i'm sorry i'm not finding the message no no now that was 14 and they're asking how do i join you can join by going to our instagram page is a nice journey night's journey one and you can shoot us at dmm at dm sorry we have not yet finalized everything we are still in the starting node stage because we we said you know what in order to start out instagram at night journey one we are there we don't we have not yet set an instrument there's no age limit all can join all are welcome so theo what's next for um for you guys what's next what's your next project our next project is it's supposed to be curing kovid yeah there's one yes that don't stop working straight through wednesday thursday y'all didn't get what i was saying he said his next project was and i said curing kovic yes no i thought you said i heard three i heard between those three days we distributed about 200 care packages wow yes and we are planning to go again by the first week in april to deliver hopefully 80. where do you deliver these care packages or first one was done in shooters hill straight up to eight mile i believe and trust me it was well received can just imagine yes when we went i i when we meet up i said guys how well do this nobody know that will come in what is going to happen i said yeah if i tell you don't worry about you there's so worried where's the bravery i was like all right all right all right we're gonna go let's see what happened we went i came out the the van and i saw one person at a shop and i said you know we are here from such and such and we are distributing such and such you know you know anyone that's in interested they say i mean we're there right here inside the shop we're interested where we are on time yeah man all right let me say tom come here come here come for this go go go call me sir mr pat's down the road tell him come on time some time everybody come on i was like yeah man by time by time we'll finish right there if we didn't move everything would have finished just right i've been gone hey be right here before we go too much further uh just just tell me you mentioned dming you guys through the instagram page but uh one of our one of your potential members says that because of her age she has she's not quite allowed to go on instagram so if there's an email address the email is scenes dot feel knight tomlinson wait wait wait let me let me let me type this so that's s t dot phil knight tomlinson tomlinson yes fear is typing in a chat guys just in case you're wondering what's happening at gmail.com gmail.com as well as nights production one okay so guys theo is just responding to somebody in the chat who would really love to join um this association or right it's a group here um so there's just assisting somebody in the chat who needs the email address but if you want to join and you're on instagram you can just go and follow them or send them a dm that's a direct message a couple years a couple of months ago or years ago i did not know what they meant but it's fine we learn every day dm is direct message because i know some of you in the chat were wondering what that means yeah man so when you go on instagram there's this little icon at the top that you can use to send a message so you go there and that's how you direct message somebody d m and very good danny right i'm learning i have to show them what i'm learning right well sir theo thank you so very much for sharing with us today any final words a final word to a young person maybe somebody in the chat not sure what to do encourage men sorry i'm so sorry now she's staring at carry on i'm gonna jump on what you mentioned as well there i think based on how it was typed i believe it's a young person who was asking for prayer for their grandfather um zaiden i believe is asking for prayer for his grandfather and i would love if you could pray sure no problem after they yes ah utes it's never easy when talking to you it's because sometimes when you think well when a second this is a young person saying that this is never easy i have to level my generation you know my generation is no i'm just happy that y'all are finally admitting it but continue we are not very easy to please so when we say not sure if you're a mom but no you're not but wouldn't it be me though i think he could have figured that out but you know uncle or auntie until i want this and then five minutes after they say no ma i don't wanna honor i want this let's just say parents friends colleagues in youth don't care whatever it is do not give up do not give up the lord is with you he is strengthening you remember he said he knows the beginning from the end as much as how you feel you're at the start and it feels hard to continue remember the reward is sweeter once it is with christ amen do not go against what you believe as a christian because if you do trust me after that everything feels better don't lose christ don't lose sight of christ amen amen so okay are we allowed to ask questions danny no because you asked him to pray but go ahead ask a question so theo i this is something that i firmly believe and i would like i would like to hear your opinion on it and if you could add this to your encouragement a lot of young people i have encountered and for a period of my life when i was way back when when i was a young person sometimes we may think that christianity and walk of faith and pursuing success as the world calls it are incompatible like i mean we must be a christian and have things or or do well in the world like christianity not just for poor people and for people who have the education right i don't want to speak to it i'm curious if you have a word to that yes trust me i i get that a lot and especially on the journey of it when i was a youth parliamentarian most of the things that they did were on sabbaths okay and you know persons would say oh you're not going to make it to the city you know it's better you just step out just with that accent yes the person was from yeah yes so they said no man especially just sit down i was like no man i i made sure i prayed a silent prayer in my head before filling out that application form tell your funny story when i was filming on application form i was one year short as an age yes okay when i got the call was a night before my birthday wow was a night before the age to be alone to sit evening and the morning was that day so i i said lord you know what i want to do if you think through this agency i will be able to fulfill that allow me to be a part of if not i understand and i will continue to serve you i filled it out waited a year and then i got a call and then an email person saying no man you're too young or you must do so you must do that your adventist no man the thing is once you once christ is in the center of whatever you do all things will work out and you you alluded to the fact that persons say you know it's poor people this and poor people yes are part of christianity let me ask you a question have you heard the stories in the bible i don't think so josiah at the age of eight was king yes and was an a jew and jews are people of god abraham david solomon solomon the wisest man who ever lived said all of this when he turned away from christ and came back said all of what he accomplished outside of christ his vanity and vexation this goes to show people that with christ you can attain so much more than what the world out there has to offer you don't have to worry you gain both ways you gain by making it to heaven and you gain here on earth don't worry about yes auntie might be here saying yeah man they are live the hype life and you might be saying but oh until i live life for me i do the same thing i do i mean you can't reach yourself auntie is saying look at him don't even have half of what i have but chirp is him we are continuing cmw i want what he have i wonder what's his secret what what is working in his life that is not working for me many persons who have made it without christ are upset those who make it with christ are the most comfortable cheerful most hopeful people you'll find bless god bless god you i think you can pray now at at this point i think we should cap it with prayer yes it did remind me of the uh zedan zaiden i really hope that that i'm getting your name right but he asked for prayer for his grandfather ah let us pray their most kind and compassionate father we come to you this afternoon knowing truly that if it was not for your shed blood on calvary's cross we would not have been here knowing that as sinful as we are you called us to worship you in spirit and in truth we have knowledge at this time dear lord your powerful healing hands your nail scarred hands dear lord that said if you just believe it will be done and here we have a young man believing that through you his grandpa can be healed from whatever is happening in his life and i too believe that my grandpa who is sick at this moment through you can be healed we ask you lord that you just send your holy spirit to be by his bedside dear lord comfort both or grandparents dear lord comfort them help them to know that you are there with them help them to know that they are already healed dear lord help them to know that through you there is deliverance in jesus name we pray amen amen and with that we'll go to our musical item thank you so much theory [Music] i have seen you in the sanctuary my life [Music] i will praise you as long as i live in your name [Music] your love is [Music] i see you my soul is [Music] i am close beside you your eyes and my soul will be satisfied your love is [Music] [Laughter] i seek you my soul is [Music] [Music] i see you my soul is [Music] happy sabbath brothers and sisters i am sister english and i represent zone 1 federation no we are here at the mustard seed home children's home and we are at the location in my father's house this is on mahgo drive of hager park yes you must be wondering of ugly park zone one well let me tell you a quick story no zone one of course you know we're situated more on the east side geographically and when we initially reached out to muscle team on north street which you'll hear about that project later on they told us about the initiative from the head office that's where we are now and they told us that because they came to special needs they're building a physiotherapy department and they wanted a wash and sink no even though they're not in our zone we took up that mantle and we went and we donated our sink you'll see videos and pictures of that sunday later on so this goes to show that as christian young people we are ready for the mission it doesn't matter which zone it doesn't matter where the call is our purpose is to fulfill the gospel and as you know we are celebrating global use day so this is also a part of our project of donating brothers and sisters we are here representing king of king and the lord of lords thank you hi i'm dion anderson president federation of adventist youth and as katie would have told you earlier we are here on location at our main project mate 25 40 and we would have shared several items today from hardcover notebooks to food items and to some medical supplies with over 19 residents here on location and with their caregivers we know we would have had opportunities to interact with them if we were not in this covid situation but we're still happy to be able to support them and to share our love through these items today [Music] [Music] [Music] good afternoon this is zone 3 youth federation reporting for global youth day 2021 and we had a few churches who were out in our communities impacting families we had estonia community um church the youths distributed tablets to individuals to be able to access online learning we also had persons in the clarksville church area impacting other families with care packages and we also had a youth from the pembroke church reaching out to disabled persons within their community okay we also had a short district of churches they were the sermon they gave up packages today to the um new day old age junior high school on friday and also we are here today in the prem the padma community where we are seeing this in action we were giving out clear packages and they also painted a bus stop with for global usa and that's not all we also went all the way to florence ill church and they gave out care packages within their communities then we have the new avon seventh day adventist church and they had a blood drive and also gave out care packages within their community then we went down to meadowvale seven-day adventist church and wow the spartan pathfinder club of that church they went and they impact two family life a father with four children and a whole elderly lady with our nephew who is disabled and they were given care packages and food items we as a zone ensure that we give and be the sermon by not only our action but by being the ceremony by prior acts of service and being and technology today was indeed a fulfilling day and we are glad that christ could have used us to be the sermon we had with us our own youth director from the union pastor dean fletcher and what a day it was wasn't life impact our last stop was padmore and what a blessing to see a father with his three young children and pastor fletcher close us off with prayer and we feel fulfilled that we have touched lives it was my joy to connect with the youth of the zone three ay federation as they impacted the community by being the sermon they really did reach out and we hope and pray that as they reach out today the results will be astounding as persons experience the love of god and the power of the gospel through lives lived to demonstrate care and affection god bless you and we by god's grace will continue to be the sermon we are the ceremony [Music] welcome to zone four the zone four and happy global youth day to everyone it has been a pleasure and i'm thrilled to be celebrating global youth today with all our youth across zone four we all saturated and inoculated the zone for global youth day our main focus for global youth today this morning was to the margins nursing home in licensing thomas and also the loving care nursing home where we brought care packages we offer words of hope and we offer a word of prayer we had our prayer minute with them they were so enthusiastic and so thrilled to have us visiting with them and just for experiencing jesus the love that we and warmth that the use of the zone just exploded on them today we are just so happy all the churches were involved they came out in great numbers we had seafood church we had bad church we have morant be church we have rumble church all the way in the hills boy all the churches we had white horses churches and all the young people were just out in their numbers delivering care packages and just witnessing for jesus we gave out um priority magazine and we just filled infiltrated the entire zone with our presence god has been good to us we can't complain and over here in zone four we are on fire for christ and we encourage all the others to just come on board and to join zone four as we go out for jesus i will go they went today will you go with zone four i'm ready are you ready thank you [Music] there are days when i feel the best of me is ready to begin in the days when i feel i'm letting go and soaring [Music] how to survive [Music] when i get on my knees i get on my knees [Music] see i don't know how to put this party [Music] i could be in a crowd all by myself almost [Music] close my eyes no darkness [Music] see i don't know how but [Music] when there's on my knees i get on my knees [Music] when i'm on [Music] [Music] my when i'm on my knees bless the lord o my soul and all that is within me bless his holy name i am delighted and grateful to be in the house of god to worship in the beauty of holiness i thank you for that a musical item indeed there is power when we are on our knees oh god has been good to us as young people we did go out and we did share of the the word of god with many of people and for that we are grateful indeed it was rewarding to share the truths with whomsoever we have come in contact for the next few moment i want you to flip with me scroll with me to acts chapter one the book of acts acts chapter one go right over there book of acts acts chapter one i read for you verses six two eight verses six to eight the bible reads when they therefore were come together they asked of him saying lord wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to israel and he said unto them it is not for you to know the times or the seasons which the father had put in his own power but but ye shall receive power after that the holy ghost is come upon you you and you and ye shall be weaknesses unto me both in jerusalem and in all judea and in samaria and onto the uttermost part of the world for the next few moments please permit me to cue you into god's thought with the title i will go empowered i will go empowered god as we open your words we pray you will open our hearts we ask one more time that you will handcuff every demonic force that is assigned to disrupt your word to disrupt this feed in the name of jesus christ of nazareth amen i will go empowered ladies and gentlemen beloved friends it is very important for us to understand the mission of a mission in especially in this time as you look around the brothers and sisters you will find a world that is enveloped in a world wind of chaos mayhem a world of crime and violence we have come to live in an unprecedented unprecedented times that's the time in which we have come to live and brothers and sisters you would have come to the realization that psycho psychology can help but only to a point we have come to realize that the greatest need for modern man is for god to revive our spirit for god to move with power amongst our brothers and our sisters and that's why we are saying this evening as young people ash tag i will go empowered we are recognizing that we must go we must share the gospel we must let men and women know that there is a better person we need to give men the dose of hope not the vaccine per se but the holy ghost and god the father god the son that's what they need and brothers and sisters like the disciples who were broken for their hero had died their star had died and hence friday was a dark day for the disciples friday was a time of discombobulation friday their hearts were broken and its brothers and sisters here in our passage having reassembled having come together they came with the wrong question they came like a regular jews who were looking for the messiah to restore the kingdom to give them the kingdom that's how they came with that anticipation hence they asked rabbi jesus the question when will god restore the kingdom unto them when will god dethrone the romans when will god establish the jewish monarchy when will god banish the oppressive roman empire when will god do this that's the question they ask but the noble jesus said to them you are asking the question that you have no right to ask for this question is out of your depths you're asking a question that you shouldn't be focusing on and so jesus skillfully removed that question from their prefrontal lobe cortex and jesus contrasts that question with something that is much more noble and powerful jesus said but ye shall receive power after that the holy ghost comes upon you why because god said i want you to be my witnesses i want you to be my conduit i want you to be the carrier of truth both to jerusalem to judea and to samaria and ladies and gentlemen the same thing god is saying to this army of young people as the same thing god is saying to you who is watching the word of god said he wants to use you as a conduit he wants to use you as an instrument he wants you to take the gospel to jerusalem called social media he wants you to take the gospel to judea called what's up he wants you to take the gospel to your neighbor he wants you to take the gospel because the gospel is the only thing that can truly solve the needs of human beings the gospel that's the good news of salvation ladies and gentlemen men and women are dying in sin they need the gospel paul said i am not ashamed of the gospel for it is the power of god unto salvation so we must go they were empowered to be sent but here what the first part of the text said before they could take the gospel to the then known world they must be empowered by the holy ghost the third person of the godhead and ladies and gentlemen i will go but i'm not going without power i'm not going without energy i'm not going without the holy ghost i need to tarry for the holy ghost i need to be in a place where the holy ghost can reign down with power what the church of god needs in these last days the church of god young people need the power of the holy ghost that's when we can preach with power that's when we can live with power or send down the rain give us the holy ghost i'm come to my clothes the bible tells that on the day of pentecost fifty days after the passover they were all filled with the holy ghost and peter stood up and preached a crystal-centric message a life-saving message or praise be to god when the holy ghost comes upon you and you go over you won't talk about your achievements you won't talk about yourself but you will lift up jesus you will lift up jesus because he is the one who will draw all men unto himself preach the gospel be empowered you need the holy ghost finally brothers and sisters as i've shared with you that peter preached a crystal-centric message of that message was about jesus oh praise be to god are you in love with jesus this evening because the message i'm taking to the world i will preach the three angels messages and i will talk about the mark of the beast i will talk about the heavenly sanctuary indeed i will preach about the holy ghost but i must preach about my jesus when i talk about the heavenly sanctuary i got to let men know that jesus is the high priest when i talk about the mark of the beast i let the need to let man men know that jesus will seal us up with the holy ghost i need to let men know that jesus is alive and he is well go with jesus go with him with jesus the one who died for your sins the one who died on calvary's cross that one who her blood ran from his hands and flowed from his feet go with jesus tonight as we come to a close you have heard several messages on this platform today or other platforms will you commit to take the word of truth to this dang world for the word of god said he has more power to give you than you need young people will you open your hearts and allow the holy ghost to come on the inside church of the living god will you open up your hearts and let jesus in as we embark on this untried week i want you today to surrender to the working of the holy spirit he will empower your lips he will empower your thoughts he will empower your ministry and so to this evening as you listen to the song as you listen to this song the god who has his eyes on the sparrows is the same god who is watching over you and your neighbors give him a chance in your life why should i feel discouraged why should the shadows come why should my heart feel lonely and long for heaven and home [Music] when jesus is my portion a constant friend is he his eye it's on [Music] the sparrow and i know he watches over me his eyes [Music] and i know he watches me [Music] i sing because i'm happy i sing because i'm free his eyes [Music] and i know he watches over me [Music] and i know he watches i know he watches i know he watches [Music] i'm happy [Music] [Music] and i know he watches over me his eyes [Music] i know he watches me i know he watches [Music] me [Music] i know he watches me indeed god's eyes are on the sparrow and he sees you you may feel like you're moses you feel like you are nothing much as a youngster you may say i have messed up so many times and god can't use me i still battle with sin god can't use me i want you to know the same god who sees the sparrows he sees you and he says just give me a chance and i will make you into the person you ought to be god likes to use known bodies he will use you bow with me as you talk to god as talk to god he will give you the holy spirit pray with me father in the name of jesus christ of nazareth the only true and living god the one who sits on the circumference of this universe you god who spoke and every planet in space took its rightful place god you are the one who causes the world to twirl what a god you are you have carpeted this earth with gracious schwabs you press down the valleys the hills into valleys and you fill the ocean with teeming aquatic animals god you are an amazing god and we come to you this evening because we see that the world that we now exist is not the world that came from your hand is this is not the world with a concord and symmetry this world has been polluted by sin and oh god we pray you will give us the holy ghost you will give us the power so that we can let men and women know that your coming is nigh i pray for someone right now who feels that he or she is not worthy to be used by you i pray god that you will speak to that uh shaken heart i pray god you will strengthen that feeble heart i pray for all of us as children of god that this week we will commit to let at least one person know about your love thank you god for hearing thank you for answering in the name of the resurrected jesus and god's people say amen one of god's people i also will say amen we have spent a day in god's presence we have been celebrating global youth day we've
