Ruger 10/22 Any Good at 100 yards???

[Music] hey everybody how you doing this is about to be a really fun video but recently a bunch of you guys have commented why are you shooting rimfire rifles at 100 yards rimfires are made to shoot 50 yards well we've already proved 17 hmr and 22 mag you can shoot 100 yards just fine that is not far for those uh rounds but a bunch of you guys asked for this one 22 long rifle or 22lr as i like it to call it um we're going to shoot ruger 1022 at 100 yards uh last time i shot this thing which was quite a while ago i think this scope was pretty near dead on but i picked this one because it's probably one of the most common or iconic 22lrs that a bunch of you guys probably have so what we're gonna do i've got three targets downrange at 100 yards first one we're going to check and see where the scope is and then the second two i've got see-through sights on this thing or scope rings so i'm gonna do a group with the scope and then i'm gonna do a group at 100 yards just with the iron sights just for fun and see what i can do but wanted to do a quick video here is a 22lr any good at 100 yards i'm pretty sure the answer is going to be yes but we're about to see what i can do with this ruger 10 22. the ammo i brought out is this norma tech 22 stuff one this is what i have the most of in 22lr for two i've had really good luck out of this uh normal stuff so hoping to give this rifle the best chance that we can give it so let me uh show you the targets here quick and then we're gonna get to shooting we might even stretch out a little bit further than 100 yards and hit some steel up there on the range if we're hitting some stuff but check it out 22lr 100 yards i think we can make it happen all right so here we go in my eyes and my ears now first let me let me mention this real quick because i one i think it's hilarious and two i think it's important so this is all my gear guys nobody's paying me to make this video you're not gonna see in the corner paid promotion or whatever on this video like you will a lot of people especially those rimfire videos uh most of them are paid ads and people are shooting a five thousand dollar for quartz a wing wang rifle and a two thousand dollar victor doodad scope okay this is real life stuff i'm a regular dude i bought all this stuff i paid for this norma ammo i actually bought this from birmingham pistol when i was in alabama a little while back but bone stuck ruger 10 22. this is a simmons eight point scope i bought at walmart um and some normal ammo i bought down in alabama so uh i just thought that was worth mentioning you know you watch a lot of rimfire videos it's not real life they're paid promotions and it's it's a five thousand dollar rig all this assuming that you could find it it's less than 500 for this whole rig normal prices you could probably get this rig for 300 bucks but all that said let's take the first shots on that top target there and see where this scope is at and see if we need to make any adjustments hopefully we're not too far off but i'm going to do my best to give this thing the best chance it can all right top target there [Applause] just right a bullseye i'm actually really excited about that i thought we might have to adjust this scope let's shoot it again let's just do a five shot group there i'm thinking we don't need to adjust it based on that [Applause] bullseye baby a little bit right with that one uh-oh had a failure to eject there out of this ruger i've had this ruger i don't know six years never cleaned it shoot another one nope didn't load her there we go all right so there's a five shot group let me go down to the target beneath it i'm gonna top this off with some rounds here we'll do another five shot group at the target below it and then we'll do a five shot group with the iron sights on this 10 22. some days some days these are the most fun videos just getting out plinking and having fun and kind of challenging yourself and seeing what you can do here so 100 yards here i've got this on 12 power on this simmons if i didn't say that already 12 power zoom that's another thing you see people shooting rimfire videos they're on like 32 power zoom like that's kind of unrealistic too most people don't do that unless they have like a a 5 000 sniper rig and they're shooting competitions but here we go let's shoot for that middle target five shot group [Applause] all right [Applause] high middle [Applause] that one looked a little low [Applause] high again and a little bit high there about a one inch group there maybe now i'm going to look through the rings at that bottom target and i'm just going to use the iron sights just for giggles i want to see how good i can do here so that's that's super far at least for me to be using the iron science but let's see what we can do here with the irons i may completely miss the paper but we're about to find out i've never shot this one this far with iron so oh do we have another another failure to eject there damn it [Music] put that round back in there shoot all these with the irons i'm not even gonna look at the cameras i'm just gonna shoot make sure i'm aimed at the right target [Applause] here [Applause] another jam well that's all we had let's see if i hit that plate at all actually hit one ring on the bullseye not too bad but hey i'm having fun up at 120 yards there's some there's a little row of some orange steel i'm gonna move this camera like i said there's just a row an orange row of some like three and four inch plates we'll see what we can do just plinking on those plates this is going to be at 120 yards so i'm gonna reload this mag up and i'll be right back shoot some longer range on some steel it's fun to hit the steel and hear it all right let's hit that steel here this is at 120 yards with the 1022 here and you know what i'm not even gonna use this i'm just gonna use my elbows just for for fun and make it a little harder [Applause] got em 120 yards three inch plate there hit the one to the right of it [Applause] got him one to the right of that [Applause] got him keep going to the right so three inch plates at 120 yards not even on the rest try to hit that tiny little spinner got it maybe i should stop all my head let's go ahead and empty it i think that's all um we got a damn didn't inject but hey that was a whole lot of fun but appreciate you guys watching it's 120 yards with a ruger 10 22 just off my elbows so i really just wanted to make this video 22lr is definitely a capable 100 yard rifle you can see i'm not even trying and we're getting good groups we're hitting steel at 120 yards before we finish the video let me uh run down real quick and show you those groups on paper all right so walking up to our targets here that is our first five shot group one of them went in the same hole so what is that one two that's a two inch group at 100 yards not too terrible and this we didn't even make any adjustments without that flyer that's almost a one inch group and then down here with the iron sights looks like i hit the target three times not even hardly trying with a ruger 10 22 no practice i'd say that's some pretty acceptable groups um and i guarantee you with a little practice we can do even better than that really checking out which ammo that that rifle likes the best appreciate you guys watching we got snow in the ground here in tennessee that's pretty weird but i just wanted to make a video you guys have been requesting that 22lr at 100 yards it's a piece of cake any old 22 that you have laying around i guarantee we'll do it i shouldn't guarantee you might have some some broken rig that doesn't work right but ruger 10 22 that's the most common 22 that's out there and we're up here even hitting these tiny little pieces of steel at 120 yards without hardly trying and i'm no expert i'm just some random dude with a camera and some bing bangs also piece of this video i wanted to show that you don't need to go get you one of those vola wing wangs and the voodoo wang wangs and spend your hard earned money spend more than what you what i bought my truck for to get you a 22lr unless you're in like a a million dollar competition or hey maybe that really does float your boat you want to get same whole groups at 100 yards and more power to you but everyday people like uh most of you guys and like me hey those uh 22 long rifles man they're actually pretty good and you can stretch them out pretty far they're people that shoot 22lr at a thousand yards that's incredible i
