hello guys crisp here welcome back to another video in this one my friends I'm gonna be testing a GeForce RTX 4068 gigabyte GPU in cyberpunk 2077. this one is the MSI Ventus version of the card we're not manually overclocking it and you can see all of its specs right here in Tech powerapps gpu-z recyclable bar is also enabled right there and over on the left we're pairing it with the ryzen 7 5800x3d and 32 gigabytes of RAM 3600 megahertz cl14 in dual Channel let's get it to it shall we okay here we go let's start by setting this to the high settings preset I'm also going to test Ultra Ultra Ray racing overdrive and stuff like that but I'm starting on high it's going to be a big video by the way let's turn off FSR here and the motion blur as well and this is it the high settings preset without FSR or motion blur High textures at 1080p we're also going to attach 1440p 4K and 8K that less resolution is just for fun obviously and we're using High crowd density now okay it gives 60 plus FPS all of the time the one percent lows are down into the 50s now but that's just because the frame time has little variation right there you can see it it's not completely flat but it feels good very smooth God damn it uh yes I haven't improved my driving skills since the last video by the way yeah for a 300 GPU in 2023 aimed at 1080p gaming it's expected to see 60 plus all of the time in pretty much every title out there without the use of like dlss and stuff like that and frame generation so um if you want the native experience oh my god dude how the hell does Bob manage to do this every single time did you see the impact there the force and then he dies like that like what the hell I want cdfps around this roundabout again guys as you can see it's not really dropping by too much and it's a really intensive area as well so it's good to see these kinds of FPS in cyberpunk for sure um now I'm gonna stop it right there I'm gonna enable dlss super resolution now and increase that sharpness a little bit here because we're at 1080P and everything else is still the same on his settings so 120s 100 plus at the moment oh boy it's actually CPU bounce God damn it why cyber bug developer CD projekt Red please fix use utilization okay this is what was that stutter by the way maybe just a save or something but yeah it's it's very very annoying to see The Horizon CPU only being utilized like what 30 40 Jesus Christ it's on fire I was seeing the FPS and Intel CPUs like the 9900k for example which is also an 8 core 16 threaded CPU I need your car thank you um well those can be utilized up to like 80 or so they can actually use hyper threading on that and not on ryzen CPUs and it's been like this for a while in a previous version of the game you could actually patch it yourself with an hexag decimal edit but right now it doesn't work I I tried so uh well let's let's move on okay it can deliver like a high refresh rate ish experience but you know what to remove CPU bottlenecks all you need to do is enable that frame Generation stuff I'm gonna use quality dlss with it first and then disable the LSS completely aside from dlss frame Asian which is part of the LSS so I'm not going to disable it completely but yeah anyway you can see that with these settings it is running with a really really high frame rate right now 150s that's pretty dang good guys actually better than what I saw in my full review interestingly I think maybe the game didn't apply the settings properly it sometimes happens here in cyberpunk I actually need it to re-record the first part of it in this video because it was using FSR all along I don't know why this game does this but yeah anyway a hundred and fifties that's something that we couldn't have because of the CPU before you know like of course the 4060 wouldn't be able to achieve these FPS without the help of frame generation but uh the CPU itself was also not capable of achieving these FPS and now we're getting them so that is absolutely great to see you know this is like the the most impressive thing about the 40 series to me frame generation removing CPU bottlenecks in a very CPU bound games alright so let's stop it there okay with 152 FPS average this is a high refresh rate experience now guys it's really really nice and smooth and responsive at these frame rates even with frame generation now if you disable I can I can feel it right away if you disable dlss and get a little bit less FPS you can feel the input lag augmentation increase you know right now with like 120 FPS it's not too noticeable but it's definitely slightly more input laggy than it was before all right at this FPS I wouldn't really have a problem enabling frame generation only at around like 60 frames per second for example if you use the frame generation to achieve 60 FPS the game will actually give you the same input like as 30 FPS and then it can feel a little bit off you know so yeah that's it frame Generation by the way without dlss looks pretty good you know kind of like the LSS balanced maybe it's a little bit soft in the slightly pixelated at times yeah if you if you move your camera around there is a bit of noise around the car and pixelation there but it's super minor right still on the high settings and Native resolution let me just see if it's completely applied yep back to the 80s let's bump it up to 1440p and do this thing all over again at this higher resolution here we go 25 60 by 1440 and let's see how many frames we can get at Native res okay well uh I actually thought it would get a little bit higher than this I guess because of the 128 bit memory Buzz or maybe the PCI Express 4.0 times 8 interface on this card um it doesn't scale as well as other gpus especially from the previous generation into higher resolutions you know so you lose a ton of performance by going from 1080p to 1440p and then from 1440p to 4K that's why they aim these gpus like 4060 and the 4060 TI at 1080p gaming and the 4060 TI at 1440p is actually similar or just only slightly faster in 360 TI which is like kind of ridiculous you know all right that said it's still playable at 1440p the vram usage is not maxed out on high settings around like seven gigs of usage why am I so bad like I have a few reads because I'm using a 42 inch monitor and I gotta look at the FPS in the corner and then I can't really see anything that's happening in the middle of the screen it's not me being too bad at the game okay all right I think we've seen enough like 40 FPS around the roundabout area and 50 FPS everywhere else with 51 FPS on average it's okay but I would definitely not play like this I would just enable some dlss on quality and that should put this above 60 all of the time oh yes we're getting exactly the same FPS or at least very similar to what we saw at 1080p native resolution in the high settings so that means that it will get 60 plus 100 of the time here at 1440p vram utilization also went down slightly because it's rendering a lower internal resolution with the LSS of course and yeah around here instead of getting like 45 we're adding 20 more frames per second with super similar visuals like even the reflections are looking great here using the LSS on quality at 1440p um and the high settings interestingly I think I actually think the reflections look better at high settings with quality dlss than they do using the rate racing presets and quality dlss at the same resolution guys because with Ray tracing the reflections are already rendering at a lower resolution because well it's super intensive obviously and then dlss on top of that just makes them super blurry and just they look kind of bad honestly if you just sit there and take a look at all of the reflections with the LSS on at like 1440p quality or 1080p quality they won't look anywhere near as good as they did at Native resolution and that's a bit of a shame because the LSS is supposed to help a lot with rt performance anyway let's stop it there and enable that dlss frame generation with quality dlss again by the way the auto dlss wow it's still looking really good and it's achieving 100 FPS now but the auto dlss at 1440p is actually balanced so we're above the automatic setting for the LSS at this resolution balanced still looks really good in my opinion um but you know quality makes it look super super close to Native res and you should definitely utilize quality at 1440p if you have a 4060 or something similar to that now 100 FPS with frame generation it's definitely feeling like uh maybe 50-ish FPS in terms of input lag it's not as smooth as 60 in my opinion but it's still not bad you know I could definitely play like this all day long the smoothness feels nice especially on a higher refresh rate monitor it feels smooth it's still very playable and it's around 100 FPS and that's the magic you could say of the 40 series that that's basically their main advantage over other cards from past series like the 30 series or the 20 series and it's great but the thing is the higher end the GPU the better it works because of that input lag situation like with the 4090 when I tested that it was just magical guys because you couldn't really feel the input like reduction because it gets like 200 FPS you know let's just turn off the LSS now use frame generation alone with 1440p and it is looking pretty good actually you know I thought it would look a little bit less detailed a little bit smudgier or blurrier you know but no it's really really close to what we saw at Native resolution but it has a bit more noise especially when you turn the camera around really fast you can definitely notice a lot of noise because of frame generation still it's good implementation here in cyberpunk 2077. anyway as we approach the 60fps mark you can clearly start seeing the input lag reductions like it's still gonna be a playable experience don't get me wrong and it feels smooth but especially when you go into first person mode it gets a little bit more difficult to hit those shots because of the added input Lane with 70 something FPS it's still possible and you can definitely get used to it what the hell happened here buddy are you okay it's Bob it's all Bob's fault obviously anyway one percent lows are pretty good and something that I didn't talk about previously and I just noticed and remembered is that frame generation Smooths out that frame time graph so yes you do have that added input lag but at the same time it's that there's a little bit less and micro status less as well so the one percent flows end up being better now let's go up to 4K resolution this is gonna be a bit too much for the 4060 but let's try it out 4K native resolution with the high settings oh boy oh boy oh boy okay this is uh this is not good and I think a lot of people probably expected this kind of performance like lower 20s at 4K high but I mean how much did the 30 60 12 gigabytes get actually I gotta check that out guys I tested it about a month ago or so maybe a couple of months ago I'll leave a link for the 3060 video down below in the description by the way if you guys want to check that out it was getting exactly the same FPS 21 frames per second not in this exact same spot guys but I'm gonna go to the other spot where I tested the 3060 at the high settings in 4k res so at 4K apparently this doesn't have an advantage over the RTX 30 60 12 gigabyte it was right here it was getting 21 FPS and they're like a little bit of different lighting as well but this one is getting like one more frame yep nope still drops to 21. maybe one or two more FPS than the 36 to 12 gigabyte but see the higher the resolution the worse these 40 series mid-range cards will do so with the 4060 here you definitely need to utilize some dlss let's set it to Quality and it definitely saves the day for this little GPU let's see over there around the roundabout if it drops too much it's really stuttery though right away I can tell you that that frame time is looking really terrible compared to previously but if you lock the FPS like 30 it's gonna be smooth and flat okay oh boy oh boy so it is definitely playable with quality dlss at 4K I'm not going to spend too long here at this resolution because probably not a lot of people will play at 4K with the 4060 but here with balanced dlss it's actually performing a little bit better than the RTX 36 too again we're removing that really big bandwidth limitation by lowering the resolution by the use of FSR the LSS not FSR so now it can start stretching its legs a little bit more and pull ahead of that RTX 36 to 12 gigabytes by a little bit thing is at balanced dlss now I I can tell that the reflections are a little bit lower quality than they were at quality so there's that it doesn't look as detailed as before although it still looks very good and of course if you are playing at 4K you do need to set dlss to either balanced or performance quality was still playable though but if you want a little bit extra FPS um this is the way of course 50 somethings right here all right not bad okay it's actually pretty good and it's looking super similar to balanced dlss at 4K you know maybe the reflections are a bit lower quality again than balanced but uh yeah it's passable it's definitely passable and it gets closer to 60fps this time now at 4K performance dlss is actually the auto setting so Nvidia thinks that performance should be the default at 4K I don't think so because you can start noticing a true resolution decrease by using performance I would say like quality or balanced balance is reasonable quality just gives you really close to Native resolution so it's really nice if you can actually handle that but now let's turn off vlss super resolution turn on frame generation turn off the LSS super resolution again because for some reason it always turns itself back on and oh boy oh my God I'm getting the input leg of 15 frames per second basically here guys it is terrible it's completely unplayable I cannot like yep it is bad guys it is bad it's barely enough for 30 FPS it stutters a heck of a lot it's running out of vram maybe if we had enough vram for this it would have been playable you know with like 40 frames or something but this way it is just not possible so we need to use like quality dlss with frame generation I think that's a good combination at 4K to make it look super pretty and we're back again into the 40s all right well that's what we got with the maybe like balance the LSS maybe we got a little bit higher with balanced dlss input lag well now that we experienced 15 FPS input lag it feels a lot better before it is damn it Bobby's gone are you serious are you where is he so it is playable this way it's not really running out of vram anymore which is great but it's not perfect right let's do like performance with dlss frame generation here now we can finally achieve those 60 FPS however now it's looking I wouldn't say as bad as like 1440p native it still looks a little bit better than that um but as soon as you start moving your camera really fast again that noise is there it's noticeable the input lag is like 30 to 40 FPS input lag so it's not great still manageable though I wouldn't really play like this and of course not a lot of people will buy this card for 4K gaming so just stay away alright so now we should probably go back to 1080P and play at the ultra settings this time around with no FSR and no motion blur okay here we are this is ultra settings at Native 1080P and you can see right away we're not even in a super intensive area yet and it's already dropping into the 50s is quite underwhelming for a 300 new product in 2023 in a three-year-old game almost like two and a half year old game it's released in December of 2020. so yeah you can see how a lot of people are very underwhelmed and saying that the 46 is definitely not worth the money I really understand that and I wish we could have seen a way bigger Improvement in raw performance without dlss stuff um with this 4060 because with the 1060 we saw a huge Improvement you know over the 960 it was like 80 90 faster or something like that some crazy stuff there then with the 2060 six gigabyte model it got a good bump up in performance still of like around 40 percent over the 1060 but it was more expensive with the RTX stuff which was brand new at the time then the 3060 was like what 15 or something like that 20 over the 2016 it was really underwhelming but at least it had double the vram and then this is 20 faster than 30 60 and it has less vram I I just don't know what they're doing honestly anyway with dlss on quality and the ultra settings things are way smoother once again you can get 60 plus FPS all of the time this way so there it is the OSS saving the day once again maybe this is the future every game will have upscaling Technologies from now on and you will definitely need what the hell just happened you will need to enable those upscaling Technologies to achieve like the full potential of your cars or playable FPS it's sad once again but it is what it is and let's go ahead and enable frame generation as well and now we're back to the 100 plus FPS Mark while looking a little bit softer than the quality the LSS stuff the thing is on a smaller 1080p native monitor it will look pretty good even like this this is just out of this world performance you could say only available on 40 series with frame generation it also gets this really good frame times with zero stuttering it's great you know again I just wish they weren't selling this okay let's go up to 1440p I turned off the LSS and frame generation and here we are this is native 1440p ultra settings and it seems like it is gonna drop from 30 FPS guys oh boy and by quite a lot look at that damn all right that is a lot worse than what I was expecting actually guys holy crap like at the high settings it dropped to 45 46 or so at ultra settings it's dropping to 26. that is a huge drop in perform Bob Bob I'm so sorry but I really really need to do this you have been avoiding me today not anymore boy you're dead oh my God this is the Avenger of Bob dude hello well okay anyway it is a playable in some areas but it drops so much that it's completely unplayable in others so you should definitely not use ultra settings in 1440p Native res let's go back to the roundabout though right away with quality dlss and I think I'm gonna stay around here from now on because we already saw it's way more intensive here than in the other little roads around here um so yeah it's getting 50s that's a huge Improvement by enabling the LSS not frame Generation by the way just leave me alone me alone I need your car guys I need your car thank you very much please don't ruin the lights for me because I like to see them it's definitely playable now but it's not the greatest experience ever it's like balanced the OSS now it puts us in the 60s that's way better and again balance dlss on a native 1440p monitor looks pretty good actually I played a lot of games with my 360 TI at 1440p balanced dlss like war zone one at the time this one and it looked really nice so this is definitely a very good option here but I think I would just go for a quality dlss and the high set exact portion 40p instead now let's go back to Quality enable frame generation go back to Quality again cdpr can you fix the little dlss setting stuff and not turn on auto dlss every time when you turn on frame generation that's a bit annoying you know Bob Bob yeah yeah okay it's it's not bad actually input leg wise with 80 FPS Feels Alright responsive again not as responsive as it could be with Native 80 FPS but definitely better than what we were seeing at like quality dlss for example okay this is like huge video I'm really sorry but we still got a lot of things to try I gotta stop it there okay um let's turn this off now go up to 4K I'm not even sure if we should do 4k on Ultra because it was already struggling a lot that uh the the high settings let's try like 4K performance dlss here on ultra settings it's not that great guys yeah 30 FPS especially when you are shooting other people here it just doesn't feel good even with performance dlss I would not use the ultra settings at 4K with this card okay let's try with the frame generation though performance please thank you very much and right that's that's okay it's not terrible with frame generation and performance dlss at 4K but it's still not 60 FPS so again if you're playing at 4K just play on high there's no need to use ultra with a card like this let's turn this off and uh back to 1080p we go and I will try the rate racing Ultra preset which again enables dlss on auto by default let's turn this off and this is it alright these are the settings of Ray tracing Ultra at Native resolution it looks really good it gets 30 ish frames per second most of the time actually I think I saw like 30 plus all of the time in my full review of this card but okay it actually does drop from uh 30 and it's starting to stutter quite a bit probably because it's starting to swap some things that should be on vram into the RAM and that vram is just not enough eight gigabytes it's 1080p native with rate racing and we're already starting to see like the car just came out a couple of days ago actually yesterday uh and we're already seeing its struggle at maximum settings because the vram is completely maxed out it's very sad this is something that we didn't see with the GTX 1060 for example 60 gigabyte model that playing everything on Ultra absolutely fine with more than enough vram at the time now we need dlss quality here for it to become a little bit smoother yep there we go this also decreases the internal resolution and once again Nvidia is relying on that dlss internal resolution that's lower um to not run out of V Ram it's now using around like 7.4 7.5 gigs but it is still dropping into the 50s and once again look at those rate raced reflections they look nothing like the high settings Reflections I think I did prefer the high settings Reflections to these ones but what if you enable that frame Generation stuff with the ray tracing and everything all right still okay in terms of responsiveness vram should actually be maxed out in a couple of scenarios maybe I think with a 4060 TI I saw it go up to like 7.9 gigabytes of usage but uh it didn't go past it and it didn't stutter because of the vram or lack thereof um so yeah it shouldn't really happen with this one either so yeah at least you you can play with frame generation which uses a little bit more vram than native resolution and the rate racing and have a smooth experience okay that's it for 1080p let's go up to 1414 now still using the exact same settings it's native res right now oh my God okay it was just applying things guys why is it getting the same FP oh frame generation still enabled I could feel the input like right away guys forgot to disable it here so now that we have it disabled this is native 1440p with rate racing it was still applying there with the 7 FPS that's 20-ish frames per second around the same as we saw at like 4K High settings native resolution so completely unplayable experience to be expected you just need to utilize dlss here with it on quality gets 40s that's a great Improvement and now it's not dropping from 30 FPS anymore it's pretty dang good in that regard although the frame time is a little bit stuttery RAM usage is a little bit higher as well at 14 gigabytes so that means that some things that were supposed to be on the vram already swapped into RAM so yeah it is definitely not recommended for you to play at 1440p with an 8 gigabyte GPU even with the LSS and Ray tracing at the same time what about frame generation let's find out on quality here okay wow way smoother but again that input lag when it's around 60 FPS or 50-ish it's it's too much in my opinion or maybe it was just at the beginning it gets a little bit better you know as you play the game maybe just get more used to it but I do think at the beginning it's a little bit worse when it's supplying things um anyway I'm surprised it didn't stutter more though probably because we aren't playing at Native race okay so this is 4K now native resolution using the ultra RT settings and don't ask me why I'm doing this at this point maybe just to see the beautiful visuals because that's that's the only thing that you can do here you can't even move around freely and comfortably It's Gonna Get You single digit FPS all right it is absolutely terrible yeah let's just stop it there it's completely useless to test this out right now um let's use like uh Ultra performance Doss all right okay and that does reconstruct the image quite well it's a bit blurry in some areas and once again that road is terrible um but yeah it's getting 40 FPS right now so it could be playable like this do I recommend it of course not like that there's no point in doing this Frame generation Ultra performance dlss 4K still not enough to achieve 60 FPS with that still in the 50s right I actually thought it would just crash at Native resin it didn't so there's that and now we're back to 1080P and finally we're gonna try Ray tracing overdrive this is path racing which is much more intensive than the usual Ray tracing that we see oh my gosh all right yeah vram is maxed out it's spilling into the ram as well over here it is atrocious the experience that you get all right with overdrive RT I'm actually going to restart the game again because the vram is was already spilling previously at 4K I doubt it's gonna make a difference but still okay okay well it's already starting to spill again and it's it's pretty much the same thing let's uh try it with dlss because it's definitely supposed to be played with the LSS with overdrive at the same time and even with dlss on quality it gets us lower in 30 FPS at times not all of the time but yeah it will happen at times and of course those Reflections on the ground are just not good all right over here 30 27 again people are crashing into things because I heard it Bob is gonna die hopefully Bob stop pretending you're dead I know you're not dead yet let's go let's go let's go people skill Bob help me dude with the car behind me please can you help me no gosh damn it we gotta get out and they met him with 20 something where's my gun where's my gun Bob what magic did you do to me you you oh oh it was just holster it's okay let's use frame generation at the same time as quality dlss vram is uh really up there at times like I saw 7.9 already let me check again if I can recreate that it was right here 7.8 it can go up by a lot sometimes with overdrive RT but is it a bad experience um honestly I think oh my God I think it actually looked better on his head it's a native resolution that native red sharpness or like quality dlss sharpness it makes it worth it over this and especially with 60 plus FPS all of the time and without the added input lag of uh frame generation if you really want to play with overdrive you should probably get a better GPU all right but I I don't see the point again this is just a technology showcase now just to end this we should try it at 8K I can't help the scientist in me my friends this is 4320p we're gonna get to the overdrive stuff but first I want to set it too low because it's not going to be playable even on low so yeah let's let's see how it does 8K resolution four times the pixel density of 4K wow it is so so detailed this resolution guys but of course even on low settings it heavily runs out of vram and I can't even turn my mouse around anymore oh my god oh boy no no no no no no stop okay okay I'm done I'm done with this I'm done with this please okay you can see like a pretty slideshow I guess let's try it with performance dlss which looks very good still at 8K resolution oh boy would you look at that way faster performance like seven times faster isn't it who would have thought that the performance dlss could give us a seven times or ten times performance uplift in games Well turns out at 8K with the lack of vram it does make that difference we need to try it guys Ultra performance tlss Ray tracing overdrive I'll even have the motion blur enabled because I don't want to navigate this menu for much longer because it's so bad it's gonna crash isn't it I think we should start saying your goodbyes oh my God it's not crashing did you see the motion blur at the beginning though that was so bad holy crap dudes all right bat racing at 8K is actually possible somehow with the RTX 4060 guys I don't know what to do hey oh my God 18 gigabytes of RAM usage we're so so over vram budget right now and if we enable frame generation and keep things on Ultra performance it's just gonna die I think because again frame generation makes it use even more vram look at that Ram going up now oh my God yep there is a point if you heavily heavily run out of vram where frame generation actually makes things worse and we're seeing it right here RAM usage is at 23 gigabytes and it's way worse than it was before and still on Ultra performance the LSS by the way so yeah thanks so much for watching don't forget to like And subscribe if you haven't already again I'm so sorry for the huge video but I hope you guys enjoyed it and as always love you all bye
