Hey except we hope you stop me this your boy in Milwaukee D Jes guess is one of my personal favorite lyricist mm-hmm the guy has had countless things that he's accomplished to this game started out when Tommy Boy Records turned down a dr. Dre deal that could have changed his life AM run he's probably the only person who ever rhyme next side to Eminem and they didn't say that Eminem body them and I'm so more they got like nine thousand records together and I'm not one like [ __ ] said that he bought it maybe as a couple and maybe it's not but I mean every work of the Eminem robbing anybody they say that he's demolishes them probably the only guy that stands his chance he's they were part of a legendary rap group that even they were beefing at one point and they came together and they made was for the better cause of hip-hop let's be able to slaughterhouse and the case you guys don't know did he made a legendary [Music] Funkmaster Flex white must weigh I'm sweating beginning to sweat because because his llamas are respect him and it goes on for flex and it was crazy because a lot of my younger homies and a lot of my people would they were coming up to me and they were showing me this footage and they were shocked and I wanted to respect their shock Ness but I also wanted to say this ain't nothing no like and I want to be disrespectful to what you did right but I'm like this to been doing this for years so in case you don't know who we talking about we told my mother [ __ ] Royce to fine thank you thank you you have such a rich hip-hop history and so I want to take it from the beginning okay I want the fans to actually understand your flight your struggle on how you got to this very moment right here so but I just I just took it from the beginning I've folded you the tape in the beginning so how is a young royce keep get into this game okay so what you want from the very beginning like ha what is your start what is your origins wouldn't how does this happen well I come from Detroit shots a Detroit absolutely yo man I started crazy cuz I just bumped into my man scam I've been doing scam for that's family that he created the drink champs logo make some noise bro I started rappin I was playing basketball in high school I started writing my own raps probably sometime around the 11th grade and I like never told nobody but why you said write your home rats use sounds I saw was helping you before that oh yeah you hear me let me make sure I clear out there like what I started off mimicking people Soleil LL Cool J I'm bad I used to like I memorized the whole video choreography and everything so my dad choreography and everything I'm bad with choreography bro I didn't think about my father used to have his friends and [ __ ] over all right and he used to be like Ryan dude I'm bad [ __ ] bad so I set the stool up and I'll rap the [ __ ] not be doing all the moves and that's like how I started running soon like I can be 40 brainy yellow say I used to girl wrap that [ __ ] exactly like 40 exactly Wow so like that that's how I fell in love with hip-hop so I started writing raps for myself to save for myself sometime around in high school so when [ __ ] used to be doing ciphers and [ __ ] I never would tell nobody that I was writing rice so right around 12th grade me and one of my boys went to the hip hop shop in Detroit hip hop shop and they had no security there pick them up pop shop is this like like SOPs it's like a real underground thing so this is the first time I came to a club and they actually had no security no we're like I like I don't care about security we're just saying like I'm just used to that and these things today just they just says in their rhyme bro it's like oh it's a clothing store no more into my horse the street from um is this a chicken spot I love that chicken from from a hip hop shop yeah on my bucket you went to a different Louis yo - what's up little st. Andrews I love that chicken oh yeah you could tell me that's why everybody doing okay Nakano ladies but yes so this this is like so this is like my first time seeing this is before the internet was like popping and [ __ ] this is my first time seeing [ __ ] battle and like rap about what you wearing battle back before I've never seen that before so I'm looking at ld's I am and then improve these [ __ ] is like how old are they at this time they probably in eight 20s I'm still a teenager when I tells I it was I was still young okay this is Maurice Malone's this is where like that our whole generation came from he's kind of like birth from there I didn't flourish ditto because like they proof was the host he had to mic pass and that's the peace proof yeah he had to mic passing it around so you get to Mike and you can rap and you got like a few seconds to kind of like captivate the crowd or DJ here to put this Gong music on you got a pastor ma you put the gauze baby Apollo yes like the Apollo gay so when I when I first got like the courage to rapped after I win a couple times I got gone so I got gong and I ain't never rapped it again so I'll start going to this other place called a band you showcase after that I got a little bit older the environment was a little bit different you wouldn't stand around a circle of killer SMC's it was more like just a crowd looking at you and him stage was a little elevated so when I rapped there I got a better response if it wasn't for that but you showcase I never would have never exactly your confidence BET Hip Hop Shop almost broke me okay but let me ask you let me ask you that because um four artists that's starting out right now and they had that same experience but you were maybe they had the wrong DJ maybe they played the wrong beats at the time I said the wrong a rap artist bounce back from that because um I think my first show I ever did sup to but I just had a gun on me and I just felt like everybody I had a gun with me and I was like you will about respect every artist to do that so how do you bounce back from whose first show supposed to be really good New Orleans first show is good come on no one's paid dues artists we don't know that it's just like anything man like like I told you I came with playing basketball boxing it all applies is confidence it's all confident God you have to figure out a way to keep your confidence up and not be inside your own head not kind of you know I'm saying like letting them break you know mr. leaky open air mr. Li he lost his job yeah mr. Li oh so now so don't understand is correct that you your first look in the game is 1998 Tommy Boy um yeah but you actually didn't drop out no I mean wait see he was suicided Tommy Boy yeah that's the best year of my life yeah yeah no does 98 I think it was 98 thought it was more like 99 2000 90 okay I don't think it was 98 bro late nineties okay yeah at least early 2000 I went out I start staying in New York with a friend of mine and we start trying to shop a deal at that time you had to get a record deal that was like that was like yeah so I went and took meetings with all the labels Tommy Boy included played on my demo basically got turned down by all of them so I went out there and start [ __ ] with Dre and that's when we started writing for the chronic out this is my second this is another I'm glad we're mobile men what okay that's all relative you don't say so let's go this is prior to em messin with dream yes I didn't know I thought you were going to drain through I was okay okay my bad so I kind of skipped over this okay I mean let me walk you to it okay okay and if I if I start getting scatterbrained and I got to go back to scatterbrained glasses I'm definitely welcome I met mark I seen Marshall the first time I went to the hip hop shop but I didn't meet him until 97 mm-hmm so I was doing this acapella on stage and I said this whack-ass rap I know you I'm gonna keep calling all my old raps wet but they kind of cool back then so I said this long I said this line I said I'm illidan standing in front of a gorilla holding a banana that was around cannabis time that's when Kenny was kind of like so my man my man um introduced me uh me and Marshall and [ __ ] so he was like yo did you just say you know yeah he was like did you just say you illidan standing in front of a gorilla holding a banana I was like yeah like we both thought that was ill so it was like we should work so we start talking on the phone and [ __ ] like that when we eventually got into the studio so he did a song called bad meets evil which became a group Dana said yeah so Marshall said that to you who said that to you what about the line about the banana oh I said the line onstage honey and he said something to me about saying the line cuz he was acting too much um I am yeah he was that to show that he was selling his local Slim Shady oh yeah but he already put out the infinite project yeah right okay I had all that [ __ ] but we never met we never officially right I know exactly who he was uh-huh he didn't know what was right so we got in a studio we did bad meets evil the song but it was just two local dudes getting they're working on some [ __ ] what was he trying to body him cuz I'm for like you be trying to body I feel like you be acting like you don't have like like you like the Floyd Mayweather this [ __ ] thank you thank for real like and I'm gonna get in the box into how I respect your boxing game then I appreciate that yeah we uh I remember being in the studio as a long time ago humbled me whether that's your name I didn't thank you weigh whether think I'd ego I remember being in the lab and some of my [ __ ] was in the studio and the vibe and there was that the white boy his body and me see I was always this is been a beginning yeah this is what we did Bob you see with the first were from yeah cuz I they was always used to me rapping better than everybody in the studio so this [ __ ] comes in with the song concept already he telling me what I should say on the hook he telling me he teaching me about the way work birds roll off the tongue and [ __ ] like cuz I remember like he wrote the hook and it was like where we hit the trees do we look like Vietnamese people so I kept saying we hit the trees we hit the trees till we look like and he was like yo you gotta come by we and hit we hit the trees he was like it rolled off the tongue better like he was teaching me [ __ ] I could could I wasn't even thinking about yes so and then when he laid his verse it was kind of like and it sounded like he rapping better than you you know I remember that being the vibe in the studio so shortly after that he got his deal with Drake so the way we start bonding was we was always talking on the phone and every time I recourse on my send it out there to him you know I'm saying so he could listen to it so when he played Dre everything he had on his demo out of all of the features he had on there Dre was layer that one song right there is the one you should put on help which was featuring me right this [ __ ] was playing trade my demo and I didn't even know it so I met my mom's crib I'm standing my high scrap at the time and I'm in the room I don't know what I'm doing I'm in my room and [ __ ] my dad just come in the room lay eight it's a dr. Dre on the phone dad your dad knows that think this could be dr. Dre Dr Dre or is he one of those guys that don't know at all not my dad even young yeah okay cuz the way he said it I knew it was drained way he said it because you know he'd know trayful he know his voice I thought it was like yo just [ __ ] sounds like dr. Dre is you just call your hi you know how you doing this right there dr. Dre she says so you like us to dr. Dre on before so I'm like wait so I get the phone hello he let yo what's up is Dre that's another metal never met a celebrity in my life and how long just called my mom's house that this is really drained immediately Spector ignored the media today so I'm like oh man how you doing this honor to talk to you he was like yo man I really like your [ __ ] he was like M been playing me some [ __ ] and M didn't tell me he was playing so that's why didn't I didn't know he was the last thing I was expecting so he was like I want you to come out to Cali you know if you can and I'd never been to Cali before either I know I'm help me out with some [ __ ] to be doing it so I flew out there and I started writing and then I also had to re-record my vocals on M song for his album hmm so that's cuz it wasn't up to par for Dre see ya cuz we just did it weed emanated that my man study up but we were just babies me sound like when he got that deal he turned to special trade standards on recording yeah yes so he's a piece of so yo I mean that's how I ended up starting to work on the chronic start bonding with him or start being insight man now when all this [ __ ] start transpiring you know the business is small man let's word get around real fast so all the labels is lay up we won't do another meeting Tommy Boy included so when I went out there to talk to Tommy million yeah I played was hard to resist it my [ __ ] listen I played the voice it was hard to resist that yeah you see I resisted but what what in your heart let me ask you something because a lot of people don't understand this that sometimes like I heard Dre offered you 250 is this correct Anton gorev for you 1.2 something around that area in that ballpark man I just remember it was a big they kept saying a million dollars okay they got the penalty my bad Tommy Boy I was meeting directly with Tom Silverman it was like it was like no it sounds like is that one of your biggest regrets that you went for the money and you need go for the opportunity now not really a regret man it's not regret I mean it's just something it's one of the things you think about as an adult like wow if I was a little bit more mature you know how this business is man it's like you don't know he's a little more mature I was a little bit more mature I probably would have done certain things different you know a lot of times like a lot of times when I go for the money play it's really not to play every single time it's when I go for the passion play yeah it always works out for me but when now when you're young you don't even this what I was you don't even have a full understanding of what your passion is it you know right I didn't had a foresight to be able to see the drink the Dre was starting the real movement he was starting something that she wanted to be a part of [ __ ] the music you know I'm saying like that his album in Marshalls album and then that chronic tour was a movement those are the biggest thing moving the big thing about it was the thing about it was you but I'm sorry to say this I don't want you to feel bad about your mistake but you actually yeah in aftermath you actually belong only part that bothers me when I look at that history is that I look and I'm like I know cuz to you I'm thinking like you off on my kid on the hood that's 750 thousand more yeah yeah then when I'm getting but the thing is you would have probably made triple that I absolutely would have you don't think would have been a 50/50 look what happened with Rakim being on their bus yes that's a good polygamy and I'm sure he partook that because that's the one thing about aftermath is you can be the star there or you can be the [ __ ] guy that's on well I know I know and third-base coach I know for a fact but my experiences we were working with Dre I definitely would have made better music right like the music that I came up with on Tommy Boy it was good all right but Trey is a producer right like I would have been I would have made the album that defined me at an early age that's one that's one benefit that I think I I missed out on you know but in looking at it in retrospect to no man is like if he just if he just would have told me like you know I don't think you should do that I wouldn't do I am yeah in either one of them right either one of home nobody around me made me feel like I was making a bad decision saying like this one point something is like it was just like all right would do you album over there I wish I was your friend back and I got that like I started to realize that going for the money sometimes you're happy for three weeks ya know you learn maturity less than that oh I think I'm from Detroit man like I had a terrible time [Music] you put word get out that you got a million dollars in Detroit gonna shrink oh my god you might as well have that [ __ ] in your pocket well in cash and rubber bands everywhere you go no matter where you go uh you know I mean and it's like it's a very competitive City and at that time getting a record deal was unheard of unheard of when I told my mom and my people in Detroit it when I saw the first artists from Detroit they got I put on um [ __ ] I gotta probably go back to like boss right keno oh yeah awesome Dre Oh boss was dope - yeah at that time it was like uh Shawn was like a big independent seller you know I mean but he didn't have a major record deal he was like he was a legend you know I'm saying but when Marshall got his deal it was like the first in years yeah I was like since like um what was it not Multani from Detroit yeah okay it's a competitive City man it's competitive City so I ran into a lot of problems so I watched a couple of interviews and um to do my research and the thing that nobody really um pointed out is your glasses game is happy Thank You Man you have own custom frames what heaven which is the name of your studio correct you are correct never seen ain't no mention to the skies glasses these are called diamond cut oh that's what it look like that [ __ ] all those just fly these are just flat I could have got my prescription in him I just didn't want wait for him oh okay when I saying them I had to wear him immediately because I knew that this style had just came out and I wanted to be the first one listen he said that was the first one with a mission is to make sure that that's different okay so now you and him hmm something happens where there's a fallout now for this brief moment was a heartbreaking for me because again I don't I've met you I met him but I don't really know you guys but I understand the relationship from you guys in the public's office mm-hmm you guys have this fallen out why wasn't this fall not even happy okay the biggest the biggest part of it was communication I would say lack thereof okay you know like we didn't get the opportunity to say to each other how we felt about the situation hmm there's so many people needed at the bar so many people kind of like instigating it and um saying what they could say to kind of like fuel it did it I think it turned it got a little bit easier for him to just not deal with it at all didn't to try to deal with it and please all of these people and on my end it was like I wasn't doing my part to keep it peaceful I was kind of feeling it too because at that time I felt like I was kind of like defending myself I was standing up for myself well our fans our fans is a little bit slow and I'm sorry they hate when I say they hate when I say that because no yeah so what we're saying is that when the problems occurred there was other people who came in who fueled your mind fueled his mind is that what the situation was between it was between me and his group his crew d12 alright it was proof act now what it not see this that's the thing to light a miscommunication yeah it kind of it kind of Darkness turned into meat me versus proof we kind of got perceived that way just because of how vocal he is how popular he is and how popular I was at the time within that situation it really stems back from an issue between me and bizarre that's market bizarre bizarre me and bizarre both went to the same high school he was real cool where he wasn't real Cooper he was he knew my big brother my Big Brother's age they didn't like each other you know I mean so you remember I told you nobody knew I rapped right so this [ __ ] Bazaar was like the man eyes grew and rapper so as soon as he left he found out that I was rapping now all right I don't like that he yeah like that yeah so he came back he went no no Haven [ __ ] at night he's just a competitor yeah so he can't he came back and I was at the park and he approached me and [ __ ] to battle yeah yeah you know so we battle like now it's my first time actually like knowing and [ __ ] and we battle right we did that so years later I will see him at the hip-hop shop I see him out so he was cool when I start hanging with him everything changed with me and everybody knows it's like once everybody started getting deals everybody was so competitive instead of supportive that's why I always try to teach not teach but always try to like advocate unity within our community in Detroit with the younger artists because when we start getting deals we were the first batch of [ __ ] getting deals in Detroit in years so instead of us unify with each other we all just competed with each other yes I'm just I just so happen with this certain situation we would compete with each other too close under the same umbrella right and it put em in a put him in the position where he pretty much had to choose you know I'm saying so um it could have been it could have been rectified but nobody was taking those steps everybody was just standing their ground you know I mean so so once you do that and you don't [ __ ] with the communication everybody around is trying to fuel it they just make it worse and worse worse and worse and worse and worse so every time we seen each other got more and more weird you know I'm saying gigas was saying this about each other [ __ ] was saying that about each other and I can't blame nobody cuz I know I did my part and then next thing you know a diss record got made then I made it was my first day they dissed you first there was d12 diss you first they put out the first record oh but now and you and em didn't have no it was everybody else um never had a problem being mr. Porter never had a problem being proof never had a problem it was something between me and bizarre alright and then it just grew I just grew into something that it shouldn't have been you know I mean how did you fix it I think it was time you know I mean like a lot of time went by nobody speaking to each other then when we finally uh was it proof passive that was one of the things okay that was one of the things I mean seeing him in that coffin man it was just like yeah yeah god bless it but seeing him in that coffin was just like it was just too surreal you know me like at one point I thought I didn't like him at one point but seeing him in that coffin it broke my heart so much and seeing them all in the front row right and seeing what the family went through and all of these different feelings and emotions it just it makes you feel like life is short but what the [ __ ] would we be for for honey so I mean that was one of the things I think that was one of the things that helped marshal kind of because me and proof me and proof pieced it up way before he passed and he's like we went back on tour together and [ __ ] like that Toph was like one of the happiest guys I know that he was always happy was a friend who lose every tough I forget with a strip club I shot a film that's like keep saying shot um filmed in Detroit um on it was violent eight mile and I did the movie um what uh what was the movie rayj enough oh no no not the horror movie it was some Joyride oh yeah yeah I mean I'm in joy ride Vito and I was out there I'm gonna join and before I get to the joke buttons you're boiling all that stuff checking in checking it was basically almost invented by Detroit Lakes right mm-hmm how I visualize checking it was thesis about homies anyway yeah yeah so sugar little [ __ ] is modeling as the cheddar boys is my [ __ ] I've never felt bad one of them in Detroit and say yo [ __ ] I'm here because that's what they require they asked me they didn't demand it didn't say make a check in [ __ ] when you came my city I was gonna know because I'm loaded as other grimy [ __ ] running around this city that might get you because they know you [ __ ] with me right so I've always came to Detroit and I fought and most of the time these [ __ ] be busy anyway so these think about what Detroit is kind of like the people who patterned that check in in what do you feel about that right now because this is a big controversy about checking in yes I don't know I don't understand why such a controversy I think it's just a lot of people they're they're measuring stick on what respect is is just completely different it's just completely different you know I mean like I learned respect in the household when my dad was my dad ran the household with a iron fist you know I mean so I got punched in the face at home before I ever could get punched in the face in the street well I think that I think that should happen to every kid well I think it should happen every your answer your [ __ ] up it's a fact we spreading it or drink since everyone including your own yes so why is it a base one so goodbye let's go when you go to somebody city you going to the house you know said where's the girl Oh girls like it's like it's like you know sorry if somebody comes to your house man you know like if I go to somebody's house I'm thinking damn man the first thing I do is I look at the carpet like should I be taking my shoes off this guy got white carpet let me take my shoes so I could go to your house for five thousand years and I still will acts you can I go traitor yes like I still be like you I will never go on someone's frigerator that's like I sort of go I can go to your house I still I sort of God still acts you can I use the bathroom like that's just who I am not everybody has that common say but everybody was raised right when I go to somebody ain't no officers like that sounds peace out speaking on my crib mmm this is a good cleaned up a mess that he didn't even make a killer no top the [ __ ] came as a unit hold on rorey just like some bottles I had been drinking and like I was gonna clean it up that's the first thing he did he walked him I also said all shootings you mean re he didn't hit and say if somebody is violent he just picked this [ __ ] up I said this [ __ ] like Kevlar [Music] oh there is other side so I knew chocolate maybe on a street [ __ ] like your death you know me I'm sorry I was a little crazy ya know what I was that was my name your styles are great [ __ ] it's uh I mean yeah I think it's just a respect thing I told ya I totally understand it just because I'm from Detroit maybe if I came from somewhere else the lives would be a little skewed maybe I would look at it like that what they trying to say you know I mean so I understand why some people don't understand it right but I mean everything games for you to understand no but the thing about it is voice right you being from you being from not even from Detroit you being from hip-hop mmm and you know when I got an album called the worid Portus hmm and I have a partner who's from Queensbridge hmm and it's from left right and you go to Queens Bridge and left right cuz your record label tells you you gotta go out there and go promote in this restaurant mmm and then go promote in this guy's and I got a retail store one of the first things you should do is call the two [ __ ] you you know from that's what so I just say your voice man it's my reflux and you can make a decision right from there yeah but now you don't make that call and [ __ ] happens this is a reason why like um I'm just I'm just debating the Kasbah do you think that's the same context that they're using it now just to be double that case I checked in with you for for the whole time I got my drugs from you for 12 years I'll say you know what I think she drops are you gonna do I give it a week it helps the nanny gigs he won't bring it personally those are there to get and what I wanted here's to see you brother - got Debrecen I know I hate you you saying that what's called check-in I'm trying to do devil's advocate right devil's advocate the context is different cuz you're saying you checked in with people you knew these people now are arguing over checking in with people they don't know well guess what if you go to a personal city that's exactly what's gonna happen this is their City you don't know these people in a city you have to meet them you have you don't say especially if you're gonna continue to go to that city it's nothing wrong with saying you're trick-trick what's up chatter boys what's up I don't I'm gonna eat over here I'm gonna be over there like all right cool cuz now if something happened in the city and then you come rushing to them after then it's like maybe you should have said that no they're gonna call after for the beginning and I don't see that wrong with that but I can also see where a young person is also saying well I gotta you know whatever whatever like I can see what they're saying but it's that s actually the wrong thing the way to think you know I'm saying you coming on Bob if you're coming on my basketball court please wear the shoes that I request you to wear no mo you absolutely right I mean cuz he you know I have to be nice they don't think it be whatever you can write whatever you know alright whatever the people from that city wanted to be that's what he could be that's what people don't realize is like hey oh so so now Joe but you guys were actually beefing right before you started slaughterhouse you guys are actually coming at each other not not not technically I mean he didn't come at me he didn't come back at me alright I was firing off on him on my mixtape because he started he just ditched me for no reason that's how he is it's big him up he's a Virgo I'm sorry I'm sorry this is case Joe calls company I had my heart girl today I him just he just dissed me for no reason for I was like I got a call out of nowhere Lal you you notice Joe but [ __ ] I was like Joe Budden oh you didn't know I had never met him cuz I felt like all y'all knew each other in the mind man bro I didn't know Joe I didn't I didn't know him I wasn't following him like I wasn't I'm not gonna say I wasn't a fan cuz I did my wife likes his his first album she used to play it oh so I used to hear some of the songs pump it up when I used to hear some of the songs in black you notice think it's got rap like this so I was aware that he was a high level emcee I was aware but I wouldn't write following his independent would initially started job that you miss thoughts for me bro What did he say I wouldn't did this thing I got myself in this situation bro we're out I was in the Battle of mr. pham be I'll talked about it on your brief yes housing battle with mr. fat smoke me smoke me smoke me so Joe was supposed to be there and I didn't know I was gonna be in the battle I wouldn't prepare to battle cuz I can't freestyle so I had an unwritten four so I was just doing like regular raps and [ __ ] his ass obese get is that you know shout-out to Chuck from all hip-hop cuz he told me I wasn't coming to a battle I'm telling me something totally different and then I got the I was just yeah so Joe never showed up he was supposed to put on show he said oh he would um slaughterhouse together cuz he's wanted he's wanted a like to catalyst so the holds um you know like if Joe would have showed up you don't want cuz the whole place was just like Joey yeah they say he kept saying he was on his way this [ __ ] kept telling Chuck he was on his way knowing he wouldn't come in mmm so the whole place is like built up in every Joseph from all hip-hop my name is funny yes even though he lied to me okay I wouldn't be in it okay like font a font a was in it and then font a pull it out at the last minute so I knew something was fishy because everybody kept pulling another font ages for ya yeah I didn't even know mr. fab at that point alright so it was like they told he was definitely odd no he was unknown so I'm like I'm not knowing this [ __ ] is a freestyle wizard you know yes that's my kid so it's like so I'm like I'm like they like you're just gonna rhyme verses and you're gonna rhyme verses in the crowd is gonna judge him I get there Craig Jesus to [ __ ] host he was like you ready you got your rifle ready for the battle I'm like yo I'm not here to battle that he was looking at me like I was like and then Joe kept saying he was on the way he never showed up no I'm saying like it was like Joe's brother had just got shot or some [ __ ] like that so it ended up just being missed me and mr. fan no other contestants within his mouth was directly at you no no no if his if he would have directed his raps at me which he could have did because he's a freestyler he would have killed me even worse saying I told him don't direct no raps it bro I come in to battle no don't face me no say nothing about me and he was just like all right cool I respect that we should hands he was who so he rapped his raps but he was he was kicking battle raps but he wasn't saying my name so I just remember him saying something like I get you shot like Joey brother did or something you know they're like he was like he was freestyling so he was already talking about Joe brother good oh why he rapping I'm sitting to take it to myself this is bad like this is bad so I'll go I get to Mike and I'm rapping verses off of my album to Albert and I was working on at that time in the crowd was just like all right we came to see a battle you don't think this hot good literally the only person in the room who don't realize who don't so so so you know like halfway through Fab Four mister fair first verse I realized okay I'm not gonna I'm not gonna win this yeah so um cuz that I was so you win up like a prize how is the wind determined though the crowd judge wow it was a pro New York crowd this is the reason why I actually took 200 all the respect do was assume he's watching a like into mr. fat was because he had an LA accent California actually excuse me and he had all this and he kind of like challenged everybody in the crowd and I was like I cool that was dope to me because he was the exact opposite of what we're used to seeing like I like I'm a fan of about a rap I don't want to batter nobody no he was like he had on his shirt I think he had on a shirt with like airbrush on it and Shane brush up he just didn't look he didn't look like nobody that I felt like could compete with me and rapping you know I was just looking at him like alright I should be alright it's just me and this guy I've never heard of him you know I'm saying like did [ __ ] start rapping and how did how did you and Joe that's is that how you meet us Joe became cool yeah cuz okay so look so after he won that battle you know it was footage of it so went on YouTube Joe knowing he didn't show up goes and looks at the footage so I guess maybe he was a fan of me before and he felt like Oh Royce fell off cuz look how he look in this battle so you know Joe can just keep his feelings to herself he got to go public and say and this ain't even podcaster this is just right this is just wobble maker Joey so he uh he went in an interview with DJ envy and um he says some [ __ ] about the battle and talked about how I look like [ __ ] in the battle and he was agreeing with him like it looked really bad you know saying like it so there's this whole conversation about how bad I looked in the battle can I don't have no mic to be able to clarify what really happened it was just a li just had to take her so um Nanjo makes her song and then in the song he's like something some some something about mr. fab cuz him and mr. fat was having worried soon he was like and Royce fell to [ __ ] off so I ain't gonna mention him and my phone blew up like crazy - tell me about the song so I'm like this [ __ ] this [ __ ] is actually saying my name didn't show up for the battle that you didn't show up that's what Suzanne yeah so I'm just taking hills all across the board at this point so um I did like what the emcees do you know I'm saying I picked up a pen and I told myself I'm not gonna let up on Joe Budden until he responds yeah he's not gonna say my name he did like five records right I can't remember how me I didn't write no records about him I just because at that point it was like in my mind it was like I gotta I want to bathe them gonna bathe them so like whatever I'm gonna battle somebody I never just I never just shoot the full clip immediately out the gate I'll say a lot it's gonna mean you know we're gonna respond to a gentleman I'm gonna go you know I'm saying so dude really watching you right now that's the young we saw I mentioned his name a few times on my mixtape the bar exam and um he did some interviews he says some more stuff whatever the case it didn't send like that he really wanted to battle I ended up finding out later that he was just like he was gonna respond he wrote some [ __ ] he just never put it out so um the [ __ ] that I was dissing them all he heard that and he was a fan of that so I guess he heard it and was like oh so this [ __ ] didn't fall off and his boys was telling a man I don't think you should ditch him and keno was telling me stop dissing him I don't think you should did some y'all should work together so didn't think it caused me out of nowhere I'm um I'm at the hospital my first daughter is being born god bless so here we get on the phone yo don't close it man Joe cuz keno told me he was like yo G he reached out to me through Chuck [Music] to set up Chuck sent me up fab killed me right and then Joe didn't show up he sold me out so so um we get on the phone and he like yo man what's up man like I wanna I got this song I wanna I wanna I want you to get on I started to be like yo what's up with that [ __ ] you've been talking you know I'm saying but I just was like I'm in a hospital I didn't have my first girl was like keeno was like you shouldn't you shouldn't be dissing him cuz I roll some more [ __ ] I was about no doubt he was like nah don't put that up you should put that out so I ain't wanna feel like I was a troublemaker cuz I think I was fighting a lot at that time huh so I was just like all right man I just pretended like it nothing never happened cuz that's how Joey is well if you don't like bring it bring it up to him he won't talk about it because it's nothing to him like it's not it I took it personal he bit me I took the [ __ ] real personal I was mad you know Amy and I little brother used to talk about like I must see this [ __ ] you know I'm saying like he's totally oblivious to him he's just rap you know I'm saying so I learned that about him once I got to know him so I was like well who's gonna be on the song he was like I'm puttin you crooked I Joell Ortiz and I was like man that [ __ ] sound like a slaughterhouse he was like oh [ __ ] I think I'm a caught a song that so when I left the hospital I left the hospital that night went laid diverse real quick came right back to the hospital and sent it to him he put it out the next day in Nassau slaughterhouses for I thought we're just gonna have to be seven questions later how you put two move together that that's amazing that's an amazing story best [ __ ] I've ever said it works but you know what I learned from that man is it's like you got to stop taking everything personal yep you have to keep you got to keep an open mind about relationship sometimes yeah all right don't run around on everybody's dick but don't close yourself off from people I did that for many years all right once I start collaborating with people and being open to just getting to know other sides of people instead of judging them before you really get to know him I got to meet some good people I learned a lot from collaborating and not achieved a lot of success with [ __ ] just standing next to people and play them up playing my position and also being willing to learn from people you know I'm Sam do you think you're gonna made that same decision without the people around you that was telling you oh you know just don't pay attention it played a part but I think I had I was at I was at the right age I had been through enough you know I certainly didn't want to have problems with nobody it definitely you know I mean but you know I still I'm competitive I'm an MC I'm certainly not the type of emcee you could just say my name you know I mean like we don't you say my name we gonna battle all year are you so um beyond a list of people that they say that Eminem did body on the record they said they listened he bodied people on the record is phenomenal I'm honored just to work with a man I'm honored I'm honored to work with him every time we do something every time we do something I still fit it's the same with Prine I never really liked goddamn make some noise for me twice we get adjusted later but here so I mean I just won until I just uh you know when we start working with each other with just respect for each other there's MCS I didn't I had no idea he was gonna become would he would he became COO premier oh okay you know so um once we start working and he became like this phenomenon and yeah he was body and everybody you know like when he was doing a lot of features with people that was like his thing but um I don't know man I kind of we used to do songs I just didn't used to feel like oh I always felt like he killed me on every song oh yeah I did I realize people who's gonna be like yo you the holy person who body marshal 100 you stood test the top I couldn't I can't think of one time my body did no one to her why well now let me actually to lifelong hip hop question of all time and I want you to take yourself out of your friendship mold and I'll just um accident the hip-hop fan mmm who had the better verse oh and again that's been an ongoing conversation here and he was drinking right now this is a good time like he was shot but I'm not going to take a shot I'm drinking this delicious amounts to anything [Applause] [Music] we really need you to keep it real because this is I know you the other podcast before we sent it we get it man listen you're the real podcast okay listen me visit me as a fan yes please like that man we'll put it to you like this money first of all the real answer is there is no there is no answer to that question it's like ask it's like asking somebody nice letters between big and pop it's a bit based off your your preference right they provided you two different things that you can't really compare now if you want to go if you want to go deeper I'm a whole stand that Riddick a whole verse was like work for hope light work light work light work but listen that inverse light work man em did that song and just do it away we did a song you you was the action that was my record he produced it right he produced it right away so your verses was hold we hold why did not eat it was take my verses out and hold he sent it to hole with holes in it and hope just wrapped it and filled it in damn right damn right you [ __ ] you [ __ ] up a whole box you know hit them okay subscribe this happens you what you guys do the record jay-z flies to Detroit I imagine no no if California they set the records sent it sent it and em since jailbreak is just just whip it was the same as that record same hook yeah he had been asking he had been asking him and they've been both these schedules was crazy so they kept missing each other so um he acts him em called me was like yo I'm thinking about giving jay-z this renegade record with you thank you would you be cool with that and I just felt like it was cool too he even asked me because technically it wasn't my record no more we did two records and I was supposed to just pick one of them right for me to use the other one but you know I mean like renegade was just something we felt like we can we could do better I felt like we could do better you know so we took my verses off listen maybe is maybe we just had like maybe I had like a picture in my head or maybe I had something in my mind and I felt like we needed to be doing at that time right that make sense that was you know maybe I was just trying to shake [ __ ] according to my album but I wasn't I mean I felt like it was good it became great when they did it when we were doing it I felt like it was good you know I mean like I didn't think I didn't think it was that you know I mean so my part of the hook got taken out my verses got taken out and he sent it to Jay like that we still would say it's a renegade and when J says his part that's never been afraid to say what's on my mind I mean I still I still say that I said that part but my version of it Oh took it and rewrote his part to say Holmes way but it was the same words just never been afraid to say with just the same words okay oh yeah cuz he was like cuz [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] like that part at first it was cuz Royce he's the king of Detroit and I'm the sinister mr. kiss my ass is justice so you just switched as that person exists somewhere along would you now what are you feel about the ghost writing [ __ ] because it's very famous stories of you go straight for a lot of people really take he mention of a couple of them already yeah I mean everybody who I who I wrote we're not it's pretty much public now that I tweeted just the other day - I never secretly wrote for nobody contrary to popular belief I don't know why people think that but I I really haven't I have so what did you write for publicly I wrote for puff that's right hey ain't afraid to say that I'm not ready when ya wrote for Dre I wrote too many phrases in there I wrote a message on the chronic album I wrote I wrote uh tell me with christina aguillera for puffy on his face below you you great Harvey burgers 219 our version is run Christina said LegalShield she owned a song that once you make you will for christina aguillera I'm like [ __ ] nobody fit nah ok I wish but um yeah I wrote that I wrote up oh yeah yeah uh oh yeah with somebody [ __ ] our Andre explosion I was in I was in a lab once oh my god he gonna [ __ ] he gonna kill me for this but I was in lab we cannabis back in the day and [ __ ] okay and he um I don't know man he must have reached like a point in his life man he just kind of like throwing his hands up with this [ __ ] so he's like we was like working on a song and [ __ ] and I laid my verse and he just like yeah man that [ __ ] sound crazy and he was like sure you can probably just go ahead and write the whole song if you want to like what you know how you hear somebody saves me can't quite believe you make them repeat it just to make sure you ain't tripping ah sounds like we would you say so he basically was asking me to write the whole song so I would just I was like listen bro you a legend bro like I started just talking him off the ledge came off the ledge and I was in my mind thinking to myself I can't do this you know you cannabis my [ __ ] you're a cannabis so it's just like we're done we did we did the song and hand down right in his verse but if he would if he if I would have wrote it he would have let me this cannabis of course and before the battle that he did Oh after this is uh this is post post alien cannabis oh that's that's a good Elian is when he yet he had the battle with no rhymes cannibal oh my god did you see that footage come on man let's not go there this one man I love here I know I know but I'm just saying but he did it was before that it was before it was a while back it was a while back it has to be before that so cannabis ask you to write his bronze I forgot all about it this [ __ ] just brought it back tomorrow man was I wanted to forget you silly okay no but Royce did get the axe the right is Ron one day I just okay I'm just saying that's it that's one time that's just kind of crazy bro so now slaughterhouse you wouldn't Joe you had this little quarrel mmm how does Joe Wow I mean um we don't understand this song but and then we understand that the name of the song was actually called slaughter yeah how do you I take it serious from there how do you I say I you know what it went so fast bro we uh as soon as the reaction happened to the song that was back I was just starting to become a little bit and they're savvy Joe was already in an SM together yes from her from the gate he had a really really really good understanding how to market things via the internet and just his vlogging the boy he like he had a guardian he had a good gauge of when things were special versus when they were just regular verses and it didn't matter at all so he hit me back with kina on the freeway again so he says he says yo boo kokino he say he say you see that you see the reaction right and I was like I kind of seen a little bit he was like yeah man we got to do more [ __ ] we got to do more stuff I was like all right man I'm cool I'm cool with that he was like I told him I was like me and you shoot me you should do some more [ __ ] like we should do a album or something and Kino is like all y'all [ __ ] should do out y'all should do it so you think house I was like now at that time I'm gonna go even deeper I forgot about this yeah I was a drunk so at that time I heard of Joell Ortiz and I was aware that he was a monster uh right crooked I was aware that he was a monster crooked I ain't really like cuz I asked that [ __ ] to do a song and he told me yeah he never did it so I took that [ __ ] personally yeah that's how I used to be that's how I used to be I used to take it right there where it's all based on nice and crooked eyes coming off of a death row tooth yeah now he was yeah yeah it was yeah it was was he still yeah it was kinda okay you know so um I was like all right man whatever we could we could do that so we start every time I will go to New York she basically wasn't feeling that idea nah I was it's not that I wasn't feeling it just wasn't like 100% in now I was in to do whatever I was in to do whatever but my first impulse my first instinct was for me and Joe to do more [ __ ] okay so when it when it when it came like when I did came now you should stay working with all of them yeah just do it do it like that like okay so I was like cool I was cool with that idea to her but I just knew I had to kind of like get to know dudes and [ __ ] like that so what we did was we ran an idea by everybody and everybody was with it so we would just all whenever we would plan times to go to New York and we would meet up at Joe's crib talk about forming a group on camera and [ __ ] like that and let the internet kind of follow [ __ ] as it manifested itself organically into whatever it was gonna be you know so in it was like in the meantime we'll continue to do music together so the next song we did was a song called onslaught you know that's when we realized it you know like because I was at the very beginning when we all of us felt like we want to each of us felt like we went ahead at the best verse on every song so that's when we got a dose [ __ ] crooked eye he came in Lee hurt our versus lay his [ __ ] know just like I admit whoa I thought you had the best person who says so I mean it just started working like that so before we even did the album we was already doing the rock - bales tour he was already torn together uh as a group he's also I had heard down I have read I'm upset forgive was a magazine that it was like slaughterhouse was Eminem's version of the firm like I forget what yeah but keep in mind they were successful independently before I'm assuming before em even Jafar yeah as soon as um as soon as we put the album out on he won first out right it's what the first lady yeah I remember y'all yeah I saw like a lot of stuff on the internet that y'all was really successful independently yeah we pretty much home we found a silver we found our silver independently with tec-9 right yeah yeah let me put the shout out to tec-9s my god yeah we put the album out on a1 you know here's a number way independent album in the country make some noise for that guy so when we did that when we did that dad got the attention of Shady that got the attention of all the major labels he's met that made already he was already like I'll sleep friends no no with the people from shady who's friends with don't like no just backtrack a little bit why hadn't you had a project on shady I'll be we talked about it because me and Marshall stop talking so that was the reason why it was gonna happen if that hadn't happened oh well yeah I think so because uh he established that company a little bit after I saw him you remember like I got a deal right after him it was like yeah nice all good I said I'm used to it alright so we we um he got a deal he got his deal I started working with them and I immediately signed his deal with Tommy Boy not lead at me an update I got when I got to deal with Tommy Boy I never had a problem getting a deal again after that I went right to Sony after Tommy or dropped me on went to Sony I got another billion dollar I'm saying so I did that by that time shady was already established but I never was in the position where I was like yo I need a record deal I he executive produced my album on Sony so he was always a part of it right but we just never did it on his on his label so after we stopped talking [ __ ] so many years went by so much happened in his life so much happened in my life so when we formed slaughterhouse that when we signed a deal with shady with slaughterhouse that was me and my actually sitting down like in this manner we talked on the phone a couple times but just the way we sitting and talking now and just reflecting as men it was after the slaughterhouse do you know well how many other [ __ ] was hanging this is keep it real hey look like you know cuz all the [ __ ] know that you know ever because I know a lot of these were like damn like you know the CEO we don't bro you know what man they everybody was just so happy just so happy to be to be a motor that yeah we was kind of like biggest we was in our we was in this in the situation in our lives where it was like [ __ ] had wrote us off years ago you know so it was like it was like another shot at this [ __ ] on a major scale you know me so everybody was just happy so everything we went through individually to form this group out of nowhere we didn't plan it it just happened and now we sitting in a room with this [ __ ] who was like a megastar hey you know man like you can't really gauge how anybody feels their first time sitting around em because whenever I'm around em and I see people meet him for the first time they're never themselves right people weird as [ __ ] around him man so it's like I saw Beatles yeah so it was just you know definitely no definitely no hate everybody was just everybody was happy man so now Joe Boyle yeah again he has a show his show is late you can choose the users platform in a way where his opinion matters and his apprentice way people are certain away good but he doesn't hmm and when them drops this out Joe goes on and Joe says I don't member I don't want to word for word his words L don't remember but it basically empower if rates and he's saying this albums not M it's not good everyone is mad if he sings goes on he threatens him say he's gonna get an ass-whipping you as a slaughterhouse brother you as a brother to Eminem you as a friend Eminem and as a friend of Joey we need who stand in there how do you feel at that very moment I mean I told him how I felt I'm kind of like man so I saw Joey how I felt about it you know like I'm at a point man where I don't really like talking about it are we gonna talk about it but okay I'm just gonna tell you why before every time I say something about it man it's like this the topic Excel itself grows new legs again right like Joey got this thing man where he can't stop he can't stop mentioning things for views even at the expense of like how his friends are feel and [ __ ] like that like he caught up in his world right now so it's like that's not really my character it's not my personality is like to keep talking about something it's not even really it's not important to him he hasn't talked about it you know I'm saying like Joe went on there and he says something about the song it's a song home they didn't put out Joe said a bunch of bad [ __ ] about the song I felt like Joe went a little too hard right especially knowing you have a deal with this yeah I mean I feel I continue I felt like he entitled to his opinion you know you're entitled to his opinion it's very difficult to talk about it and talk about the execution of it without it looking like you're trying to tell him he can't have his pain but you know I'm saying so it's like I'm always real careful with what I what I say and what I don't say in regards to help you know I mean because just like this thing looming now where it's like every time I say something everybody is like looking at me like I'm just gonna race again caping gaping for the white boy like being being to lawyers yeah but the thing about it is when we have a sense of history we have to sort of respect that history meaning it's like and I must say this I'm probably sure he's gonna be mad for saying me saying this but trash is my man right and trash you know he recently called me about something I say and I immediately said sorry mm-hm because I didn't mean to say what I'm saying right whatever garlis of what I said and so immediately I said sorry I think he didn't even was expecting that I think he was just like oh [ __ ] what like he wanted me to be the old Norway where I was like and that was and so I'm trying to say is you on one hand jokes should have he should have his opinion mm-hmm but on the second hand I said it's a it's a sword it's a sign of disloyalty it's the son because at the end of the day and EFL MJ use you of example cuz you just came from the bathroom right if and you open up a piece of shop right your piece is horrible alright I don't appreciate that I'll just say please just use em okay pieces are only on Wednesdays visit my brother cuz I'm your brother hmm and then we just open up like if you ever ask me you know how do you like the pizza did i'ma tell you not in front of people love is a camera but guess what as a brother I'm gonna be honest I would still go to your piece of shop on Wednesdays yeah it was one of those things where it was like okay when I when I first seen it Lord see what really what popped into my head it was more like a respect respect thing you know I mean what's what's respected Lloyd's his brothers yeah yeah yeah yeah so uh they just divert you know the verbiage just bit like the verbiage that's been used it's been sparking all kinds of different different conversations and opening up all kind of different new narratives and [ __ ] like that it's been like it's like a it's like a playground for like semantics and you know I'm saying like twisting words around and [ __ ] like that but the very raw way to look at it it's just you used the wrong words talking about somebody you don't have to be loyal just be respectful not just with martial with anybody you know me like there's a difference in me saying I'm not feeling that didn't be saying that [ __ ] trash throw it in rice you know I'm saying it's like so when I looked at that it wasn't yo Marshall was mad it was yo cuz I didn't really even talked to him about it like that not that big of a deal but it's just kind of unfortunate to see somebody that you cool with do that kind of [ __ ] at this juncture in our careers you know I'm saying it's just like damn it's like you just throwing relationships away for no reason you know I'm Sam so it was just like this is from where I was sitting how I felt it just so happened it right after it happened I go on this press run and it's it's getting brought up to me and I'm mentioning it and I guess I'm not being as as careful as I could have been with with the words I'm choosing you know I'm saying so that's why I keeps turning into the conversation over and over again but at the end of the day it's not that big of a deal it's just he gave his opinion he did it his way it got received a certain way I seen it I picked up on it I told him how I felt about it and I was really it wasn't written and then bizarre jump then yeah we'll see that's bizarre you know it's a it's a personal thing we don't like [ __ ] don't like [ __ ] talking like that about their friends I'm gonna say anyway about all my friends so even though Joe you know like that's my that's my [ __ ] so it's like he did the battle um when he did my battle two shady battle to shave you battle with hollow to dine uh-huh [ __ ] I look the world right may face and would April asked me in front of the whole world who just won that I was like [ __ ] Joe did now I'm not gonna lie you out of your mind it wasn't a soul that could give me to say give my [ __ ] just now stand that that's it that's it that's all I'm saying so it's like pardon me for looking at it like that it's just a type of person that I am it don't mean I'm right it just mean that's how I feel you know I'm saying nothing's gonna sway my judgement from that so that's grown man talk you know I'm saying and you know as a journalist you know I had this look at and you know think of it Joe but has come it was coming from but you know I respect the [ __ ] out of him you know me but sometimes it's just like you know my opinion with my family it's just gonna be my opinion with my family and and that's just basically it you know what I mean oh I want to respect him I I understand what he does I actually acknowledge what he does and I actually think what he do is dope in his world yeah he's a you know I'm saying his world and we really the same and but you know when it comes to family I would rather keep family business mhm within town there's a whole bunch of [ __ ] I could tell you about the poem right now the first time I say that's me in it that's my brother I love him and that's that's gonna rock he could tell you a bunch of [ __ ] about me and that's great the first time I saying Capone you know I never met him oh I've never met Capone first time I seen him was here in Miami Oh way back in the day when they used to rent the scooters when we came to I seen him broke he was wow while they're not on the police wiling out on the police and he got arrested goddammit and I'ma change something the police are scared of [ __ ] they scared of [ __ ] is crazy Capone was down and be black but nowadays is mad happen in there sweet let's be fun that's real man because Fergus said mmm how you feel about things like that man you know being a black man like you know I'm be honest with you I said this on the podcast couple times what time just left my house in a little store my wife is like I'll Drive you all right cool I'll jump in the joint with my wife all right put on a hoodie she had no makeup hmm and she said silly just drove to the stall with a hoodie I can't do that yeah yeah I got 12 seconds yeah I was like I kinda hate you you know she's a Latina she's Cuban you know she's Cubans Puerto Rican and the cops don't give a [ __ ] about how having a hoodie oh yeah that's just [ __ ] me up yeah I mean it is it's disheartening minute it's disheartening diseases and it's it's not just now happening man like if you think back if you think back to when I steamed a cop-killer because these guys from these eras when they put their lives on a lot like ice-t took the cops to war for us so we can have more freedom in our speech ice-t yea big [ __ ] the police so cop killer cop killer came from cops killing but that kids you know I mean so this is something that and always was going on we just got to internet so we were privy to the information faster and you can't that you can't sneak that [ __ ] past us we see more of it I mean it's happening more but it's always [ __ ] existed bro always [ __ ] my big brother my big brother just got arrested um he had a gun on me he was at the liquor store the first thing I thought of was like shoot that could have been way worse you gonna die yeah cuz it was like you know they just they seen him walking to the door and they just ran down on him grabbed him up said he looked like he had a pistol on him grabbed him up and he had a pistol on would a fee to try to run their shuttle you know I mean so god bless now being from Michigan I would like you to describe the fling water crisis and what because a lot of people think to distill unresolved it's still unresolved but a lot of people think this is action like an Instagram thing I don't think this is real I don't people think that this is like color correction this is um was it called Photoshop can you describe what was going on out there Oh Tia not you want me to describe it like you want me to run down like what's going on or what where they are with it is it getting better no it's definitely not getting better it's definitely uh it's a corrupt it's a corruption situation it's a political thing yeah of course of course just like with anything else and I don't really know what the [ __ ] we could do to rectify it I know a lot of people donated money I'm not so sure where the money went you know I mean like I don't I don't know where they are we're fixing it I don't know man like the world is so [ __ ] up and it's so much stuff happening it's kind of hard to keep up with everything that's [ __ ] up you know like Detroit is just coming we can just coming back from bankruptcy man as a city yeah there's so much going on there's so much going on in our area story I went to Detroit one day and I went to like the casino when there was late I did not Jobar the casino it was sickening locks there was no lights six blocks straight line up ever Oh Oh somebody's coming from somewhere and six blind then it didn't lit back up again mm-hmm and I was like this is amazing but no one never put that on the lose back then no one never liked cuz anyone exposed the hole they caught Motor City for a reason a whole industry was destroyed in that area and they don't wanna put that on the news it destroys old country you know we own a resurgence right now you know usually when things get that bad only good [ __ ] can happen after that that's right that's right we got a lot of we got a lot of hardest doing a thing a lot of artists drag use a lot of artists getting recognition big up big up my bro Shawn it's like you know this is a lot the areas are improving you know I mean like it's a good it's a good place to buy real estate all right you know it's just it's just turning it's turning back into that beautiful Motown field it used to be this in our lineage okay so I got a couple more questions before I go cuz I gotta take a bathroom break I seen you two go bathroom break I have bro it's easy um but this is one of the finest questions I've been wanting to ask forever right now I'm not talking status I'm not talking like who's the most famous rapper in the world I say Snoop Dogg in the world in the world now I'm not so good look jay-z pause and em they're all famous and but that's all we took of money no no you just mean this until the era you know who's the most famous rapper currently couriers have you talking fame you got to des snow is the most you can see don't tell them Lucas wanted Snoop is one of the most iconic for sure like like like business-wise I'm saying you say I recognized him you recognized abou just it gotta be smooth man come on boys go Road me voice think about it let me think about it bro would be hard-pressed if somebody didn't recognize Drake anywhere no no okay ten years so you had to have ten years I've listened to the music slow is 25 yeah of course of course stupids up there but I don't know why I am Marshall Marshall Marshall Kane is still kind of looking this guy in definitely no Wyoming Marshall Marshall can't even you can't even wear like a costume is recognized yeah I think is that all he got to see is like his chin in his nose and they know and I'll tell you from the countries I've been to no but I think I think snowballs and Snoop is a good choice dobro is first off he's he's probably one of the most famous people ever right take it with Diamond in Ireland alright or something crazy what I'm saying is even him he has a particular crowd jay-z has a particular crowd Snoop doesn't he's like ungentle I'd I don't know if that's a word I'm pretty sure we know what you mean I think FC is this business just limited to two artists because we had this conversation hip hop we had this conversation about celebrities period I want to see what you aim is people well we gonna get me a little different though y'all ready for this yeah good Barack Obama yes it's the most recognizable person yes okay I agree in this [ __ ] in years yes yeah there is no there is nobody there's more it is the most missed right now yeah but I still think sloop is the most listen is everything his voice to his voice to listen no everyone knows they're like they're like your grandma's corny by Snoopy's snoop de like jay the video say pop em they did the best financially you know Dre best financially but they all got we still never of finances and kind of felt ahead snoop dogg snoop does all kinds of different genres of music just drive the gospel from these killers [Applause] thank you for being a part of drink champs early but um I just for me for me personally I think snoop is the most famous I think it's neck-and-neck him and him I think I think it's neck-and-neck with him and Barack you go home all right but he said he said in general I said I'm saying sloop and Barack is left leg and neck they take a book go to Hawaii and Snoop I get mom before Borak I'm just throwing it out there snoo gonna get mom I'm just I'm just telling you be I've been with snoop everywhere like I have talked but the only place they don't want was in LA cuz they just like I think they usually come here yo is that listen this is the other day right nice to be 316 pounds so I am really so yeah yeah so I just place that I've moved to a job every day six six like almost six years I charted his job everything is right and when I first moved there all these guys they would love to see me I just jog there yesterday the big was like what I'm trying to say is to get tired of everybody yeah well just yeah if you understand what I just said I get used to you they so I'm nothing see these guys right now I jog Roberto what up once you show once you show them you accessible that's it isn't it because maybe you become you become a person now you yeah of course how do they get after they get used to you they really is just like you actually either have to have another hustle another scheme another or this they like that with DES versus the songs yeah even when I got a [ __ ] car like the first car I bought when I started making money again it was like I was driving it and it was like dad and go Royce that car two weeks later it was like you put out a song they loved a song you're gonna put up you put it out again it's kind of in the same chamber right then it's like alright know what else can you do but they ever bothered you about rap with you where after they get used to you you're not really as appreciated me because even hold like whole four four four times there's a dope album but they gave what we could a half a week or two yeah they moved on this this is the generation we live in is disposable all the exclusive to hip hop right now I think yeah they don't bother me at all you know nothing like if anything it gives you a better understanding of what you're dealing with you you know you get you learn man that it's not really as much about you as you think it is as artists it's more about the service you can provide I would say hmm you know but you know you know I don't think what we're realizing that's happening right now we could literally put out something wait a second it put it out again yeah that's the crazy [ __ ] new people will be like oh this is new [ __ ] that just came out now you're not gonna say it's new alright that's great but you can literally put it out again and it's like it's my eyes it we still good algorithms are changing and it's hitting new people and that's something that I think people aren't realizing that's happening right now they don't know because we know we're not the ones making the technology because you know why I don't know exactly what you mean what it means is like back in the days we should taught a record and you would know what did that first month or two yeah if this record is reacted of that right and then you move on you would say I'm moving to the next single or you say I'm gonna keep pushing this what did Pharrell tell us work for up so that's a record high six months later but here's the crazy good.we I just thought the record would furrow and I'm thinking okay it did fair did decent you know we got a uh whatever and the guys is like so I keep pushing the to drop the video with me infrared which one was this this is oh no mas this is right this is a boss this is all so I said the guys that said please we don't actually want to drop the video something like wow I mean like because we have seven million streams on the actual record and once we drop the video like the shake you can drop and I was just like the momentum not the era of a dinosaur right no don't say anything I'm me wrote I'm right in the middle of my rollout right now and I'm learning new [ __ ] because you know just introducing the whole stream and aspect into it yeah it just changes it changes everything from what it used to be when I first got to delicious all right we still doing it for us we survived like three different eras three different they told me that they like then like cuz because I couldn't believe it like I was like they weren't in a rush to come to pull out the video I'm so mark we like almost like six seven months away yeah I'm away and they'd like you'll ignore it soon because in their mind that they [ __ ] let's just keep it in the streams they it pays on it and I understand it yeah but I just don't understand it because of how much I'm definitely trained yeah how the business will read yeah and I realized I was the dinosaur so I shut the [ __ ] up I said the [ __ ] up and I was like oh cool you know I mean but at the same time so now hold on hello let's take a Brit you here we go I see you take a piss are you gonna move so say scamster scan just just walk over at leas over here so this is my brother scam you guys know each other okay can you tell me a little something about how you met scam scams gotta tell you tell us how you oh no what I'll tell you what I doing members Shecky Greene game was a game records right yeah when they was doing bad meets evil we even talked about those projects to where those independent joints a just vinyl they just finally but you had like singles with just a single just you by yourself um yeah well actually and it's during the tongue avoid this is disses during my next do disown you do okay so um yeah wanted to wanted to one of the singles from offered air what we would do was I did the album before I gave it to Sony and then Shecky Greene from gang records he had the rights to do two singles from off the album so he had like this vinyl D he would do where he would put like the half naked girls on the moment yeah I thought there was a point comes right up where they [ __ ] like that soon no they were actually porn stars on the cover of all know foods air something sometimes it was on my cover DJ I enjoy getting those those records yeah that was that was the plan cross the rain then I was trying to ban those chops area this area else so on now you can't interrupt I'm so sorry definitely I will not okay but we're bringing up how payment scam to each other mm I don't know I mean I've seen the tacit you know saying like au feu de Troyes can scan from Miami got a whole storm with em and everything that goes on so so I I mean me mean him he wasn't from New York so he was deciding none of us me am I was your lawyer right yeah he was like yeah all that he was the Underground's lawyer like all the underground dudes a your lawyer - no he um I met Paul through him - he was uh he was amaz lawyer and his start taking off he you just start focusing on management for time he actually worked at the firm um yeah with the oh yeah okay so Tia was my lawyer and he worked at the firm Paul worked at the firm yeah did you gotta meet the one you took em to the source right no no I mean like he just came through I don't know I don't know what you travel at us what you traveling with us when he was torn nah we we did a couple stops when he before he got the deal like when he went to sleep okay I was which all that night yeah I'm gonna stretch it Bob okay but one thing Paul kind of wanted it to be like just Detroit and there so I'll get suited Miami or he thought of you as New York Oh Paul yeah No being an [ __ ] oh yeah Pro Detroit right here I'm saying what you can't be mad at them it would but like he was saying when you when you younger you like what the [ __ ] buddy Gilda but you know yeah I see what they was trying to do man you've wrapped all you was just a song I got some hope I even got the underground soup that you do a scam he's gone oh you're not paying for bills no more that's got to be around [Music] you wanna you wanna you know brush on this before stress magazine puts it out shadow stress you know sambucas boom he did it brand next month and there was the site but you took them over there yeah me and they'll put the stuff over there took em to to get on side hike this is this is very deep Abbey audience well it's not allegation this is about respect that's pretty this is my brother right here scanned by the way this is very deep ball was just passed in the bar or I think he was just passed in a bar brick facade he was a in art Elektra he hooked me up with him and Paul didn't really know to underground like that so hey well you want a smoke brother cuz in case you know I think that's a relaxed just in case me notice you know what is imminent stance it's like Barbies just throwing it out there but they were the first Barbies done stance so you don't want the stairs your comments right now you better make sure everything you say is correct that's correct I'm just saying I'm saying the bottom line they really know how to grab do so he gave it to me you know saying I heard it and you know the Detroit cats they say kind of things kind of like Miami they say finna get stuck stove I never heard nobody that wasn't from Miami say any of that is true Royce you finna get stuck strolling this stuff cuz I just don't give a [ __ ] yeah you know say so I was like okay I could tell he was white just like front of tonality but I'm like yes though so wait but this is you're hearing it from Paul showing it to you yeah yeah I mean I was like yo if it's dope I get to everybody need to get to yes and he took it the stretch stretching Bob so how did you already have these kinnexa Oh with my heart like I was just in New York just cuz you know he did damn I have the tape and when they would stretch it Bob making prank calls I actually had that tape but you know he did the artwork for beats rhyming life Tribe Called Quest goddammit and he did Emma's first album all the artwork inside goddammit so how did you go from doing underground work of a scam to doing what he is doing the hard work to some say no use and you say [ __ ] I'm not gonna be an artist like actually dissolve it there was no separation between church that state for me that's art music I'm all that [ __ ] escape and M was a skater use the skis a skater yeah oh yes I'm mrs. skater skate no no he just say [Applause] he's down I love it I tell you one thing Meena man was in home time squares arguing about whether jay-z was dope enough so at the pair of jay-z oh [ __ ] this was like very important when he was still running college radio before like college radio day like wow like all the underground stations they used to play I understand what you're saying I forgot brother right right a little after that talking to light when they was like I was like I know whatever but he checked me and noise checked you both already mail him he was just like yo I see it in his face he checked you definitely check the fight but whoa what do you know what what songs you know and I was like I don't need to know anything I know the sting goes to it so after that I made it a point to always listen to some [ __ ] before I talked about it mmm yeah I'm saying it was from from that and that that's just always been my philosophy ever since that a lot of time bad to come back and be like oh I see what they was talking about you know saying look reasonable doubt was like a Bible man ooh it's like a Bible I'll fall for that out you know all barber shops I want to get back to the most genuine hip-hop question ever in hip-hop because you said earlier you dodged the question okay hands down if you had to pick one unequivocally it's not cuz this your man is did not cause this guy you grew up with and forsaken hip-hop better save hip-hop I had to say who had the better verse oh I dodged a question yeah you I'd the brenigan joy I can I got one more form to cook I want you to answer it again I want you to reiterate yes okay so he oh okay you wanna press down and look at it is renegade em Rinnegan not like I like I like him verse I like him verse better right because how he was rapping on it is what I just prefer okay but it's you can't really say it's better than hoes verse because of our hood people relate to hos forget law because what em was say was super lyrical unity then it kind of went over a lot of people's head yeah okay what was the better diss record nas ether or whole take culture oh that's suggesting that's a loaded question bro yeah you better answer right that was that bias that was Bible know so sometimes say some and I had the longest argument in the studio with Jack about this [ __ ] Jay Electronica yes yo Jay Electronica let me just tell you something and we need to love you you are new Rakim you are new NAS why are you dodging the dippin need you to take place and put your crown on we don't understand we don't know that but we want to encourage you wherever you have to put your [ __ ] crown on and take [ __ ] hip-hop the way you supposed to take hip-hop [ __ ] is yours make some noise for that that's a great brother talk right dear okay I pause that's good no I saw good agreed I listen either one right so he's the one head woen okay yes ether on what like as it passed it's it's already clear ether won the battle now napalm bomb alright so that's all has to get its respect as the best way I feel like you're setting this up for the wrong way very politically sober we talking about the best record ether one right takeover if we just analyze and songs yeah way more lines disagree it's a nice that's a great record nas had better execution and better timing and that those are - those are two elements in battles that are so important that people overlook right you mean you can be super ugly wasn't taken yeah because it wasn't the wrong thing to say yeah at that time yes yes that's why we murder moved battles somebody he wins sometimes and it's not because he's being more lyrical is because he's saying the right [ __ ] always about being the better MC a lot of people don't like the ether beat a lot of and I think the way that they they pause the like they did all the right I like it because it's on the record is I like it cuz it would nice do do it I like cuz we lost this to it and I like it because he also made jokes about it because battlin should be that serious really caught up JJ Evans here you called you yet that [ __ ] was sold he took it back it was it was snap it on on and it Holmes took it so serious and our hands down think ethers better than take over and I think it's better than super ugly and I love jay-z I love Rockefeller they've been cut me checks for over 20 years I don't want to stop our relationship at all yeah but I also have to be truthful and I think that they respect my truthfulness ether was more effective it was more effective and Kadesh and if you don't remember see a lot of you wasn't really around that day those days but not as receiving blows from every single [Music] was the underdog at that point as well I can't say the underdog I gotta say that he does a lot of game at that horn but let me finish I gotta say that when you touch it to your knowledge meant he was the underdog because Jane was right there trying to be bit trying to be right above him at Dell I feel that Jay was not he was not at that to super sentai me he tried to gain somebody this is all hip-hop opinion this is an ax at that point insider at that point in time I was on Columbia with nice people were treating when his name came up it was coming up in the context of light he finished it's also the same he was those dogs as he was like running [ __ ] yeah that's okay jay-z was running [ __ ] so it was less the reason why he took the shot at them for takeover he was come when he was coming that he felt that too he was coming at nas wrong everybody was like nas just finished oh got hole coming at him ho was bulletproof at that time forget is that when when takeover came up now I was weighted like two three oh no and people were dissing him for it and back then you were supposed to respond immediately just like how it is right now I think he was no response it wasn't gonna be effective because it took CEO listen to me laughs at bath and kill and then would eat the finally came how it did the job and it was it was the exact thing like when I say meek and Drake battling and I heard um rick ross say to me yo you don't have to respond immediately wait to take your time and me still did what he did I'm Annessa that very moment of knives just sitting back there just he just not saying nothing mmm and he waited it he but I heard the original ether can you not set us on the podcast not that came out isn't that one heat out I feel like he went to person that was an angry version right so you can't really appreciate a lyricist being angry like a lyricist should never be angry a lyricist knows that you got it that's why your foot flexed restyle you silly and you're gonna like this and you laughing in between the bar I like when I'm watching battles and the battle that could provide like the comedy exactly be conversational so that's what take over it was like you know I'm saying it was like a flow nos was just all in different pockets conversational ether you know exam for ether for takeover I think ether was more ether was more effective takeover was more like a record a good yeah when you say record it's a great record it's just a truth it is exact over takeover is going to take over as a part of a classic album yeah that's a classic song there's going down to history forever you got a pick one no I just told you ether is more effective right you know I'm saying oh if I'm putting on if I'm putting on one of the other in my car I'm probably gonna play ether more but if I'm if I'm listening to the blueprint - get go straight to take over you know I'm saying like that's a whole classic out okay I pick I pick either yeah I'll pick either to you so make somebody jump hole hole was no man as well this is very hip-hop fancy and this is pure hip-hop discussion of [ __ ] like a lot of us like to the crazy thing is everyone is mad at me because I don't say that embody jail already game he didn't body say it again people feel like I should admit that Jay got bodied oh I don't feel like that because and I just know that if I was to say you are related to jay-z's verse a little bit more than him it's because I will get a lot of hate yeah right and the thing about it is I was against the wall off quit lefty you know the [ __ ] that he was saying this is the end was saying I knew it was lyrical [ __ ] but I actually didn't live that right me personally I didn't live you know Jason I box to the wall box a lefty but I realized if I was to ever say that probably I seem like a jay-z writer as opposed to [ __ ] Firefox will never live I'll always [ __ ] just as good as him mm-hmm what this racket I feel like this is what I say it it makes me seem like a foul not a foul do it it makes me seem like I don't want to keep it real is when I'm looking at a masterpiece record I don't care what who has the better first yeah you shouldn't you shouldn't it's it's a masterpiece record right if you ask me every day like the better so bad from TV and you know what I really say in my heart bear from TV because if we take one of them out and you say one of them is more important than that that record isn't about records back it's not if you ask the best of who shot you or who with the firm all these classic records would you know Symphony and all these classic records anyone not give in to it and you say who's got the best verse you actually take away from the actual record yeah it's just fun to do as a fan you know all these monsters on the same song it's like that's what you're gonna do you what you say is like the best or whatever it's like it's all subjective the energy I get it but at the end of the day you actually take away from the actual record will you not say because if you say alright cool you take that of that record away it's that record not still a classic no absolutely evens everything and that's the thing is I start to realize that I start to realize I was always Safed and so I became a fan artist because as an artist I still was a fan I still like to listen to [ __ ] [ __ ] I don't give a [ __ ] if I was the platinum and you were [ __ ] you know um you know you sold three records if I was in the [ __ ] I'm a big [ __ ] right that's just who I am you know says so I'm I'm with a little kiss a little bit yeah the first time we had green comes this is st. Patrick's today so now Prime how the [ __ ] did you and cream even initially DJ [ __ ] premier unless he's a [ __ ] man so now how do you start me we um ever since we did like the first [ __ ] when we did boom way back in the day oh it was like people was kind of like just in classic record brotherhood Thank You Man people kind of like I gotta ask you worse that was on your album boom yeah that was yo beat bro well heard this is freestyle boomers yo be dead you don't even know what I'm saying no no when I got to the studio when praying when me and preened was working you supposed to work yeah he was making the boom beat for seeing it for seeing it so I get to the studio and he making the beat so I'm like damn I'm happy I'm like this is the beat I'm I'm thinking aligns I'm right he's like I'm judge sit down he was like now I'm making this for the nori nori and Capone in him and I'm like I'm looking around like [ __ ] [ __ ] I'll be up days I'll be y'all looking around like what just so you know please remember exactly where you was that you know I hated premier the first cuz we paid them up for it we was just so much fast they were like y'all he wants his money up front was like Garrett for he's smarter and then he just wouldn't just see us he's murdered every day who be like y'all working on a beat for you and this is back in the days where you can't tweet it yeah working for you I thought he was gay [Applause] Mercedes for Brooklyn you know he might be kidding me and he would call me anything I'll call you up on on Tuesday he'll call me on Thursday it just didn't seem right so I actually came to stood up sorry please no I actually came to the studio and this is this doesn't hurt my feelings even more was I walk through the students thing he's not he's not playing [ __ ] oh [ __ ] this he's actually making it live but he's like this and I went like this oh oh dude I didn't when I sat down I didn't beep then [ __ ] said he if I'm not popping it's cuz I'm writing right like I'm writing in my head don't get me wrong I'm not a full potential 28 bar I'm right into my song I get six in my head right I just like this little boy but I'm gonna get quiet on you I might get quiet on my break right and then they get looked at me and then he put another one and then the pole did the same he erased that one too and then it was the third one that he was like oh he's I can't like this it was like Yelp all and this was by this time was four o'clock in the morning we're all beat he's like you're tomorrow morning y'all coming here I will happen and then that's the morrow morning you came in that's what he put in all the scratches but what that there was he had y'all be ready for y'all you know it's so happy that you told me this room does it prepares my brother idea but that first week of our relationship I thought he really tried to be like I thought you really bullshitted me because like we were going and he was like it's not tonight and then I will see Biggie and junior mafia I'm like oh sure it's not tonight [ __ ] this this big become a big and then J but I've continued so you own clean yeah I mean now it does basically I went in there uh-huh he said he was making the beef ER so I had I put primer couple just to give me that props we put them together I can have so I'm sorry yeah I mean I said that that's the day that we did boom and I was like one of the first things we did together so it just so happened like after I when I kept doing albums you know we kept in touch and we got cool you know I'm saying like I didn't expect for us to get cool so we had like a lasting relationship from whatever that was 9999 mm whatever it was all the way up until now so four meters of realize do like once you have a relation for him you're good yeah I mean we we got to a point where we just friends you know obsesses like he executive produced one of my own before crossed rhihub so we worked yeah we worked pretty much in every capacity you know he did shave a slaughterhouse you know I mean so it was like this was like the the obvious next step for me and him if we were gonna take you know take the creativity any further so um my man my Quran had idea hey [ __ ] like yeah yeah yeah so he had idea to take before somebody who's like a master at chopping chopping samples having them pull music from one source and make an album like that so the idea was initially for slaughterhouse his mic is on are over there shady so that was the idea we're gonna use Adrian young this is gonna hope it just came out of nowhere in use Adrian young he was like pop I remember when Timbaland did to Adrian young sample beat it was a Magna Carta yeah so um it was like all right cool so we gonna do this I thought the idea was crazy I thought it's a great idea so we bought at the slaughterhouse they weren't really super excited about it but you could tell they was willing to work and do it we all got on the call with Adrian this [ __ ] Adrian sent a couple ideas I'll rap right on the [ __ ] sent it out to them and they didn't move when cricket don't move immediately on something cuz he do verses like that you know I'm saying so if he ain't sending the verse of immediately I know okay they probably not that crazy about the idea and how I work with slaughterhouses is if everybody is crazy about the idea whatever we about to do is gonna be classic if everybody just showing up to work you never know how's notes are not but so I just felt like I want to ruin the idea I didn't want to twist their arms kind of like forced him to do some [ __ ] that they weren't really that into cuz I got I'm gonna do it in the group who got the relationship with everybody I can talk everybody in the group into doing whatever you know I'm saying so I ain't want to put them in that position so I took the idea to print what do you think about doing it cuz he was already open to do it for slaughterhouse what do you think about just me and you doing it and um he was like alright so we started out just as ideas AEP and then we recorded like four songs and um he knows like man we should we need more you know I'm saying like he was like we need more so I talked preeminent doing a few more and then eventually I got on the phone with him it was like what if we just caught ourselves something else besides just DJ premier Royce the five nine so that's when I was like why don't we call ourselves prom let's make the PR capital for premier race and name Prime you know I'm Zanna he was just like I cou and then from there we just the group okay but did what happens this guys come out more people hear it well hip hop's this ya understand what's going on a lot of people slept on it but then you go upstairs Funkmaster Flex hot 97 and you thank you what you're doing is such a comfortable level it's like I can look at it and say that's a real MC like a lot of people like you see what this dude did she was just like looking at yes the way you tell like you used to this like this is what I do what and they may me actually like look at how many people started to respect you from that moment as if you ain't been doing this for years but there's so many people like you did you see her voice and I'm just like yeah but how did you feel at that moment like I knew I wanted to do my best you know I'm saying like and I I got into I got to a point in my career man where I just start selling myself I'm like I don't want to really do nothing else if I can't make an impact when I do it so basically what I'm telling myself is do your best with no matter what you do just put your best foot forward someone flex hit me about coming up here which everybody had pretty much been spamming I'm saying y'all you need to get Royce up there after Tariq did what he did after black thought did what he did up that [ __ ] it was like it's not really too many other MCS you can call huh to go up there and do something even remotely close to the magnitude of what that man did so he was just hitting me like yo you know it's time you know it's time and I just kept telling him like look man I'm gonna come up there when the time is right you know I'm saying like I'm still working on it I'm working on like a bunch of different things at the same time I'll promise you bro as soon as I ready for rollout I'm coming to see you I promise you and then you know when I finally got done with the album's and I had a little bit of breathing room and I asked some time to like memorize a few things I was like [ __ ] I'm gonna go do it it was like 10 minutes or something like that first crime was successful it was a success all independent was it wasn't like in Dashami humble done like the thing about it was the sector if I felt like this is me personally just looking from the outside there was I felt like from that freestyle on like it was like the industry went back in like rediscovered there at that particularly discovered discography it was like you know what a new net now Bob what is a classical dig alert yeah we we you know we can be speaking to a whole different demographic of people like different different now he's making the people that want beats and rhymes and unfortunately with those people are not at the forefront the forefront people is one of the remaining yeah yeah didn't want to [Music] [Music] is a different generation man this is a different generation but what do you love alright what do you love about the new generation but I heard you big up Big Sean I like that yeah you know um you know you being an older chief from Detroit and him being a younger G from Detroit and I love with big Charlotte may have had a little crazy [ __ ] but that is you know I'm done but done we saw each other but um but I like the fact that you cosign your younger generation why isn't that more of that happened in the hip hop where people just see their their younger G's and say you know what I'm a big big that up me personally man I learned I learned how important it is some to get support from your peers you know like just did a few the few people that supported me when I was young like the way it affected me is spoke abundantly to me like bumpy did that he called me out of nowhere never met him before I just I was it was way back in the day I was like releasing free styles and [ __ ] online and it was kind of like tearing [ __ ] up you know I'm saying and he called me mr. Porter hit me and was like yo bumpy is looking for you hmm so I'm like oh [ __ ] so I get on the phone with a bunny and bond is basically like look I don't want nothing I'll just call him to let you know that you're doing good out there whatever you're doing just keep doing that you're gonna be alright that's gonna be right there he said he said if you ever need anything from me this is my number and I just want you to know that I support you and I want you to keep doing what you're doing and that [ __ ] like y'all took a page from his book and was like yo this is how I want to be so when I start getting a little bit up there in age in the younger artists I wanted to be viewed by them as that I don't want to be just just looked at is this old bitter guy who got a problem with not being with a head alarm light all the time can't let go with what he used to be what he his capabilities could have been you know what I'm saying like I'm really happy with my journey and I wanna I wanna I wanna I want the way that I move and my energy to reflect that [ __ ] you know I'm saying it's a beautiful way no so when I was talking to bun I felt like I was talking to a [ __ ] who's comfortable in his skin you know I'm saying like that's what success is to me you know Sam so that's why you showed Big Sean that's one of the reasons and then you know like Detroit is is we always lack unity you know I mean so everything might happen yeah everything I have over me and d12 and [ __ ] like that and how it affected me an MS personal relationship and how it affected our success in the way we review I feel like every generation that came after us needs to look at us what came out of it look at us what can you learn from it how can we make the city better how can we do better as a city and how can you do better as an artist when your city is in the know as well like the city when your city knows how to do better you'll do better you know me so we got to support each other you know I mean like that's just part of it means you look at like the way Miami you know when Miami came together and they you know Callie had everybody on records at the same time it he was pushing unity and [ __ ] like that and how much it helped the culture how much it helped Miami as a city and dates loafie funky from Detroit Detroit air so what happened up because recently I seen that the city of Detroit game cardi B yeah the Detroit Citizen of the Year award I saw what was it gave her um some [ __ ] like that gave her a couple point oh they gave her well [ __ ] that you know I can't remember the name of the words like him it was a Detroit a war like if you ain't from Detroit you should the witness spirit of Detroit spirit of Detroit that's that's damning safety yeah City she's not and I love it let me just throw this out there I love cardi B cardi B is my sister first time she was ever on screen you can look at the tower down video if you all revolt TV right now movie playing a clip of the towel down video featuring doorway feature with French Montana but push your teeth and 2 Chainz and cardi B is actually in my video the first time you ever see it so I love the [ __ ] up so this is this is not what I'm saying but cardi B did get the actual spirit of the spirit of Detroit Awards and what happened was the city of the training prompted they really didn't like that and as much of a support I am a party business must not love us I felt like yesterday I didn't understood it because Detroit let's just be clear instead of which a person from Detroit Detroit spirit yes is to my frame is to my frame of the people in Detroit like some of the people in Detroit that has to change before we could like really get to where we need to be as a city not individually you know I'm gonna always achieve whatever I'm gonna achieve is Royce you know and we're just us as a city you know we got the whole Detroit vs everybody movement and like I was saying on that clip that I put on my Instagram until everybody is in the right mind frame those are just letters on it on a shirt well it don't really mean nothing if we not kind of like standing by it like if you if you want just look at it for what it is none of these awards really mean anything you know I mean it was like you giving it to cardi B yeah I'm sure there's people in Detroit who are deserving of it and against somehow helped boost their confidence into doing something that was a RAL of the whole city around football is the perfect word the morale the morale is low in Detroit that's no decimal there's some little things like that looking out for our own first like other cities do looking out for our own first will help boost the morale and that'll help you see I understood why they gave it an award because what they trying to say is just coming from nothing and making something out of it but I also understood you got stance when he was like yo you know you know what letter all city she deserves to be the spirit of New York let her get some title that doesn't make really sense not works what kind of watch is that boy just watch shop watchman oh yeah I thought that was a Hublot because nah cuz that's a Gucci jacket that's correct you guys are talking met rich in the world [Music] it was like the first [ __ ] they had the pair of mer-moon be honest now was the first [ __ ] with the c7 c7 when they first changed the body type okay so I got mine and you know everything that's a white boy cough just throwing it out not Detroit because I'm from Detroit this is one time we're being from Detroit worked in my favor okay one time so since we don't have a lot of celebrities in Detroit we got this list that you can get on so this do donuts for our dealership whoo I'm cool with he got me on this list where he was like if you was on this list in Cali you would be on a list with like Robert De Niro and it looks like that so I got like the fifth Corvette off the assembly line so I was like the first I was I had it before anybody could even Lisa I was the first one just like how you said with these glasses I was driving it cuz I had really before anybody even seen this house truck driving that people thought it was fried it's pulling up next to me like yo what the [ __ ] is that you know it was a Corvette it's called a c7 so I just think everybody should know Dallas before you killed a I'm going what car you did let's open we're like you know what the [ __ ] is going on here yeah yeah yeah makes a decent so voice yes sir hip-hop I started out in the pop hmm you've seen every [ __ ] shape of hip-hop you've seen it you see from where it is now you seen for where it's going what's your favorite part of hip-hop my favorite part of it yeah doesn't matter anything you mean when you break down like rap in graffiti breakdance and [ __ ] like that it don't even matter like yeah I think that I think bar bars is always gonna be my favorite no matter no matter what my age is I never grow out of dope bars bars are like that's that's like my favorite component that's why you know like to me bars is like technique it's what you're saying but it's also the technique is to float that's why I prefer m's renegade verse over hos I relate to hoes more right yeah just from a technical standpoint I prefer MCS how I fell in love with hip-hop you know like I fell in love with the cadences and the technique somebody come with a new voice like my snoop came out with that [ __ ] voice doggy style I mean should he change he was like it was something brand-new yeah yeah so that's my favorite aspect of it you know like something new with styles Drake Drake is real dope with that man like coming with like new flows and [ __ ] I think it's kind of back excited about telling a Drake fan but I'm gonna stand up a say I've been such a fan he's a monster he's something else beyond an MC a-- after that like he's he definitely could spit make a--make songs all together um saying so worried the greatest blocks up all times i'ma go with Sugar Ray Robinson without even thinking Sugar Ray Robinson killed a man in a ring who you got he killed somebody in the ring yeah see and I'm disagreeing with you not because I think you're wrong hmm I'm disagreeing with you because I just want to base the greatest box of all time before all the fights that I've seen on the whole eyes okay so this is the reason why I don't pick godly hmm I pick Floyd Mayweather as the greatest of all time in my pain okay because I seen all his fights yeah like all all these fights I probably sent them but if I wasn't alive to see something live to those moment I live sorry can't feel what like like I lived in Tyson's all the tasteless movements but I also lived through all the Tyson's just either bro his downfall so I can't certainly whoop him I love him but Floyd I felt like I grew up with him we went to puberty together awkward and then we actually was wrong people together and he hasn't disappointed me I do not want him to go to have one fight in the UFC you and me Bob do not let me both if he if that [ __ ] do that I might cry listen to me I do what I say one more time he Bobby [Music] what Floyd might be playing with the two ever fight you and see that [ __ ] might be trolling man we won with from the boxing community they came into our world one time we want let's get on one and done and that's it like I still play handball I'll beat your hand but once it's it that's it you will get it we met I got a gun what are you wanna do from him they gonna try and hurt that boy over here if you go Charlie teleca's it's not gonna be look where this McGregor is the table now hmm he do [ __ ] at these other people so they'll be regrets will be some other [ __ ] that's focused on that don't want [ __ ] right and that's gonna gonna ring it your kill and I don't want it that's a hell for boxing man we can't take that we can't talk to them so we show me you are green or we agree but your greatest of all time is Sugar Ray Sugar Ray Robinson sit where I'm I mean okay pocket boxing it's a lot like it's a lot like hip-hop man I've actually gotta be brother wants another hip-hop cuz you have mad people hype you up but when you actually go on that boof it's only you live with your dad yep it's okay Joshua a wild man easily I'm picking louder easy easy work I love it you get along that's easy work that's easy Anthony Joshua Anthony Joshua easy work though that's easy work no I can't say this easy work Josh what is hidden hard oh listen listen to say no knock on Joshua's punching power bro please Beyonce louder Deontay Wilder got it he's that guy he got a different kind of he make a list you make a lot of mistakes with the so - Anthony Joshua they both make a lot of technical box of mistakes but Deonte got a fire in him okay what was the last fight while dad he just fought okay yeah but you see there was a couple of mistakes that wild of me Louise Ortiz is a better boxer you're better boxer oh but with the mistakes that Wilder made could it be detrimental to Joshua because Joshua is very technical just keep it real but he's not Ortiz like if he would've made those mistake with Joshua it might've it might have cost them I'm just keeping it real like Beyonce want to win you got it make it that's waited and waited the state that the heavyweight division is in it makes you focus on what I'm saying like they both they both make they both make mistakes it's not gonna come down to who the better boxer it's gonna come down to who lands first who got the better point anymore all right Deonte got a right hand and we have not seen in boxing probably since time yarns in a in a in a heavyweight division evidence and this is a UK's first actual champion and this first actually black money gambling they could champagne there's some about they they they are 80,000 deep and his [ __ ] they came fight for him they can't fight for him but boys let's just be clear that's something that's crazy because Joshua can actually say I'll fight you but in London you beat him in London but what I'm trying to say is we don't actually know that feeling when everybody's coming out bullying you do you have a before with that I mean that's artists as artists unless we have Ruby for somebody but you can't go to Poland and these the whole Poland bully yeah no you gotta fight this fight happens and let me just talk about because because wild up because Wilder is young still let's just be clear like how do you you don't have to answer the teen I'm 40 I'm 42 I'm not 40 [Laughter] 27 I'm not saying that 820 said I don't even know they age but we all think we mature you don't really want show on 235 yeah 35 is after that you like man [ __ ] everything up what a little cosmos bit this is a dirty [ __ ] you actually have to get that 35 okay consoles things right so when you were 35 you a cop but what I'm trying to say is I think that Josh young at 8:32 he's not and then was Anthony Jaffa could Google that now you might be young Joshua only like he only like 20 apiece Anthony Joshua beast man please don't think that I'm not saying that yeah but Deon say just 21 he wanted speciously wanna fight oh yeah yeah oh baby watch that fight cuz I knew he's gonna worry he passes to me I knew he's gonna win it did you yeah of course okay we're talking about the Joseph Parker fight he 28 right okay authors there was the most yet or not other days and what yo I do they who watch the other October 14th apart for years of what so now we como a wild wild abrupt a guest is Joshua of course I think he gonna he gonna stop him Candela just got caught what did he get caught first he was taking some [ __ ] car Clem Clem beuter off it disappoints me yeah come on we tweet we box it fast I'll look at your Twitter feed and this is this I this I know you're a real boxer [ __ ] I was looking at Twitter freedom like dis [ __ ] are you not disappoint of condemned oh yeah some [ __ ] call Clem clenbuterol steroid I don't even want to try to repeat what that's call this is some kind of steroid I don't know exactly what it does but um twice yeah man I was disappointed I was just at it twice it's [ __ ] a fighter they not fight enough they just cancelled it and he's suspended can I look like one of my favorite fighters too yo how disappointing was you I'm disappointing I mean that's like one of the only fights that I really want to besides you know like Spence verse Crawford you got Spence verse Crawford Oh took my home girl Spencer also pick her Oh Spence verses from in my opinion the numbe weather hmm he's the mean weather don't play around well I think tans Crawford is too new Mayweather I think Tara's corporate is a beast Gibby's - that's my guy javante my god would leave you as well Cera's Crawford is fighting who well I'm saying nah I'm just talking about the Aerosmith hasta no no no I'm sorry I'm gonna I don't want people to think that nah that's not happening yet okay but you know like when you look at every division you see what the super fighter that is how it is supposed to be yeah so sometime in the future that fight is gonna have to happen they can't avoid each other yeah cuz they they movements are too powerful they running through everything moving I know I'm saying and it's the same with Canelo triple G Wilder Joshua those are like everything that's happening in these divisions are leading up to these fights so and especially well how good the Canelo goes triple G first fight was it's like yell bro you just [ __ ] up the opportunities who did you think won that fight in your opinion I gave what I get I gave it to triple G really G I gave I gave it I'm not I was rooting for Canelo though I think if they fighting me I will for nobody if they fight again Canelo we're gonna stop you gonna stop don't stop really here if they fighting if they fight again oh I think I did now that so now are you familiar with the steroids are they saying that they caught him with I heard of it before I'm not I'm not because a weed now because I do put several ways in the meat so that's true yeah that's the decimal excuse they got caught he recorded twice though yeah yeah he's a lot of no he eats about me okay this is a pause really it's like Swiss somebody call somebody else Lynch people call people slit and they don't have no [ __ ] you know like back in the days you can't call about us that you have the paperwork you have to show these people this is what he snitched there's some days snitch this is little office lease this too but nowadays anyway I'm gonna say anybody's a snitch and everybody that's a little glowing right so when you say that I think they have the actual information proof for show other thing as I said he's a lot of me particularly I'm saying if Canelo is that show me what it is obviously it has to be something world because they say this is the second time the quarter would yeah I mean it is from what I hear like just looking at interviews from guys like Freddie Roach and [ __ ] they basically saying that that's always their excuse like the Mexican fighters and [ __ ] like that when they get caught doing something they always they got their excuse ready already so I don't know if he really was doing it or not I just know she don't look good that's suspended it's like alright not happening oh what the guy who had the [ __ ] dude I oh that was a job Ryan they did like a oh no I am proud I am prior yeah they said he was too but he talked about when he fought Alexis Arguello that's a great yeah yeah you didn't die no he didn't die and he had he had the the [ __ ] on his Jay was accusing imma taking something they were saying it was something they caught they caught some audio the actual audio says give me the tape take this you know the bottle give me the on the bothers me because the real boxing yeah they gave him they gave him that bottle he drank out of that bottle yeah cuz he just came up around he was tired but then when he gave him a special bottle he came to energy and he just came out and just so what that bottle have we don't know we don't know - it sounds like a great energy drink sounds fantastic so the boxing generation what do you see it going from there I first of all I think boxing is in a [ __ ] great place right now like I start over I just want you to cut you off and we have a podcast called a drink champs Network mm-hmm we would like you to be our boxing podcast okay like for real we want you to be you know the guy that files the fights you can catch so pretty I'm just saying like I just love to watch all of them i watch our live and that's so dope because the thing about it is your legend so you're listening to hip-hop appreciate it so everybody can like actually sit back and say you know what I mean that's what I did Southerland and I'm my father's a boxer so that's the reason why I'm so much into it and the way you talking are you talking like me I'm like yeah I think I know more than mmm it's just me is this Hawaiian you know I don't know I think I talk more Airy why are no more than everybody and then this thing is talking like me I'm like oh he's dangerous I've seen somebody who's me I use me not me so I stand up stand up trying to compete with you I immediately want to get down with you because that's something that hip-hop that's what we have to do the thing is we have to start doing other hustles and then right there right the right there I can see you go into H in every boxing match regardless of is in Barclays which is such a sledge and you just covering the boxing match or some hip-hop stick you don't got to be in a world you don't gonna be in a world and do it like you being beautiful listen [ __ ] [ __ ] went down we just give me the behind-the-scenes boxing [ __ ] of our [ __ ] generation point to us they don't even gotta [ __ ] with us like the boxing generally as long as hip-hop for us that's it like like I watch Bill Moore I don't [ __ ] with news right when I watch Bill Moore I don't [ __ ] with news I don't turn him off and go to see CBS or CNN he may he may get father father politics you know Fox and see him what he just said was the truth no I just [ __ ] with his facts right whatever these facts is I'm [ __ ] with that right I'm sorry that's the problem Susan in the bathroom where no no that's what all boxes at some point they'll be hanging out with should they be chillin and then just get up box affair I hung out with anyway from the [ __ ] dis here and they all just at one point these total combination [Music] I swear to god this is that's not abnormal people who write rounds and they had day a little bit more crazier then their most hmm I don't mean crazier like we're mean is you say write rhymes in hey you tell me right listen yeah big J like look at for magic for lack of a better word I want to say weirder because right around usually you're supposed to say born at all remember that line and put it to jot it down but when you're superseded that smartness you also supersede that weirdness mmm-hmm with like kinda because just think about it even when you write the round you're looking weird as [ __ ] because you can't even communicate with somebody while you're doing it yeah you can't goose like somebody's in a unit zone as opposed to when you fill your people you put it on your phone I feel right online yeah you can Montel boy cheese on that yes you know I want yes I would like like blue cheese okay bumpers or ankles thank you we going but when you write in your head you gotta block out everything I'll block out because if anybody say anything you're gonna forget that you said the Dutch master blue right brown of a section to what you're going do a body would hold you're gonna you're gonna forget all that all right so you have to just stay there just stay focused but then you don't writing it down so you have to stay focused to you so we're there the we're for I salute everybody we do I salute everybody who does and I had to do that I had to do that [ __ ] went on that's it start learning how about right here right now when I first got sober when I first started writing again sober because they had been sold me to use I couldn't write an end down one the hit the syllabus yeah we yeah that [ __ ] was almost six years ago and it was like what about your rank points it was the Moyer right now right you have all oils Muslim boys yes Muslim or your brother something like that you know most cool Muslim oil [ __ ] but is that am i correct or not but it's something similar all right keep it going sit yeah so I started me when I got when I got sober it was like I had to teach myself not teaching myself but get myself back accustomed to writing and doing [ __ ] without drinking but can you tell us what this what you how you got to the place to become sober oh [ __ ] I mean I just was making you know everything that was wrong every single thing that was wrong in my life the path from that led to liquor everything it just affected my decision-making across the board you know I'm saying like all my decisions like the people I chose to be around all right look appointed to me that was [ __ ] up I know you can attest it so the Jeep I show the people I chose to surround myself with the chicks I chose this around myself you know I'm saying it was just it was just everything was bad like the last thing did you see the media take out [ __ ] from the chick expose me on mediatakeout damn remind me to remember this god no I saw it yeah yes so that should happen it was just too much [ __ ] I was having a threesome with these girls right cut the off the worst doing is like I'm sorry sighs yeah so um I'm I'm drunk as [ __ ] you know I'm saying says like I'm I'm [ __ ] the one girl and then um the other girl is recording me but I don't I don't know right name like I'm sleep I'm passed out on the couch and she taking pictures of me while I'm sleep you know I'm saying so time went by I think she was mad at me because I wasn't like answering the phone to some [ __ ] you know I'm saying put on she end up I don't know if she sold them or whatever she gave the pictures and [ __ ] to Media Takeout oh so I get a call from my side chick mad cursing me out cuz I'm on mediatakeout my wife don't even know your house they're like so now I got my side chick mad at me for some [ __ ] that I did and then I gotta be the one to tell my wife well and then I got into so much [ __ ] got caught doing so much [ __ ] for my wife my wife wasn't even as mad as my side chick like everything was just off if you have to say it was just like I was like I got to make some changes man and it was just like my marriage was ruined my was getting ruined I was at a financial high in life but I was just at heart more morally I was underground I was buried you know I'm Sam no more morals no more integrity as a man you know I'm saying like you look at the world loves and it's like people break that word now and they they they turn it into so many different parts like it ain't just one word like would you ever [ __ ] your man's girl don't know you wouldn't think about it not at your drunkies but you cheat on your wife in a minute you know I'm saying and it's like this is horrible which is [ __ ] horrible yeah I mean just don't get married ah karma my karma is is this instance you know I'm saying like it's instant were you able to salvage the marriage yep okay congratulations yeah so I mean [ __ ] I woke up one day in the hotel room and I was just like it's time to stop you know I'm saying and I felt like and this is at the Marshall had it already became so okay he was years in because you want him used to get drunk together correct yeah you'd need no he did not rusty what he was he wasn't ever really a drinker like that but yeah poppin pills pill poppin animal we should we got drunk together you know plenty of times you know Sam I mean [ __ ] all my friends was pretty much my drinking buddies like that's pretty much what my life was but the only difference is on my attic like I'm wired like an addict so you know and we sitting around having fun y'all [ __ ] is drinking to having fun when the drink tramps interview is over and you go home and chill I'm still up drinking I can't stop Dennis me right now no but we balance it we do work out we do know we we take we take days out of drinking and we take do you say we cannot because we're [ __ ] up I kid you not boy and your baby shower you got a baby shower you put my paper what's your business on the streets I finally found out that my partner dick work biggest shitty pregnancies he said this is a pause for any shows I'm glad to know that - that [ __ ] is working I'm glad to know you gotta do like you got a baby on the way I put this agenda I won't do that no and the baby shows private soon and move jobs private - I won't say so hip-hop man mm-hmm did you think that hip-hop would be where it's at and what I'm saying is because listening to you I imagine you come from the same place a hip-hop of where we at when you had to have lyrics that was the first dig of your outfit like before your kid about having learn adidas for you kicking up a high ball likes police you had your lyrics straight yeah then you worried about your outfit right now people worry about the allottee they worry about the jerk to learn about everything else but the lyrics the lyrics is last right now I think of course used and this era of hip-hop I choose to deal with its me be I choose to deal with it - I don't think all of it is for me right you know I mean so I talk I'm real like I'm I'm good at being okay with [ __ ] you know I'm saying like I realize if it's not for me it ain't up to me to get all upset it's up to me to just find a [ __ ] that I like to listen to and just listen to that [ __ ] you know I'm saying that's a luxury where we're at today though we could find whatever we want yes every day for everybody he's a DJ he should be DJ in every party I think he's - stubborn that he don't want a DJ because young when he died this is my opinion remember remember horror movie and remember going back to what we was talking me wrong I think we have one of the most hottest shoulder in the world they wanted to DJ everywhere you know you will say [ __ ] up [ __ ] I want to play old school shitty too busy making babies man [Music] yes so like we was talking about earlier how [ __ ] get they get used to [ __ ] you don't saying like lyricism was so important for so long we just got used to it in order for hip-hop to evolve people had to open up new doors you know so it's a little hard for us to accept the lyricism isn't in the forefront in terms of liking music but it's also you know it's making us mature as listeners too but it's still it's still there because the difference between now and before is that it's not like you said it's not in the forefront mm-hmm but they're still lyricist there's young cats that are still pushing lyric ability they're still like we got Denzel curry whoo we got Kendrick he he might be not the youngest cat but he's in that young generation and to me he's like one of the ilis ever seen in my lifetime the people of the people who are truly on top and have had the best careers from his generation you know like Kendrick Cole guys like that yeah they had a derrida lyricist right but listen they lyricist but you you you when you get in the gym and you're good in there because we'll all overweight all of us right at one point and then we got in the gym we got our [ __ ] together but we in the gym you can't form you do not turn off good you get good say it says you do not are you do I do that I don't know I'll leave it on when it comes on am i off turn on I'll leave it all [Music] in the communist to you sorry sorry I'll see you got a Porsche Panamera it's very nice wife and good skate hey you've got on boots because I've also watched your tire you're very good she came to you and it's a cool song huh you don't turn it off even when I'm in love that Gucci and even even like that and like the club is [ __ ] like that [Music] y'all really want to hear like no super super lyrical shots in the club responsible ignorance yeah music that's what you gonna dunk music should be like that dope that's a good one ignorant music should be like that though music should be like a soundtrack to every single thing that could possibly go on in your life she'll be music for everything it should be dancing for every mood just like watch a movie you know like I prefer lyrics you know name but also you know like I like tons of different styles of music different kinds different genres you know what I'm saying so you can pick something out any anything that these young dudes are doing some of it is just like nod not tolerable okay listen to it but [ __ ] I just turned it off I think there's different conversations when you're talking about like if you want to talk about the upliftment of hip-hop culture yeah I mean I think those are different conversations oh good you got that and this is drink chance [ __ ] podcast we do [Applause] before we get about here so is it difficult for you to be around environment as a person that sober because we want our fans to know that you can listen to us sober as well yeah just because we're getting inebriated that we're doing honest this is hit by hip-hop history the same about us getting drunk and we have your buttons but it on there then now we have you on yeah yeah both have similar stories being you know well cover already oh how hard is it to maintain in everyday society I've you make that switch it's not difficult for me now you know when I first when I first got sober I didn't I didn't trust I didn't trust be in a certain environment so I just didn't allow myself to be in those environments like I was about to wheeze just about to do a slaughterhouse tour when I got sober I had to call all the guys in the group individually and just tell him that I couldn't go because we weren't able to do cuz I didn't know I didn't know what sobriety was I ain't know if it was a situation where if I smell some liquor what I want some you know they're like to [ __ ] be like dangling a steak in front of my face and I'm small steps is that what you do yeah you automatically do steps and use up or troll guy yeah dude I went through different phases in my in my drunkenness but I had a legendary drunkard yeah that means he drank over this story I mean I started out with a the first drink I ever drink was a Jack Daniels and with Drake with dr. Dre what's up Jack Daniels dr. Dre doctor dr. Dre it's not the studio I was a saying I was ass would you say that doctor going out together I didn't realize the way I worded it which our name is really the bucket earlier but sauce really good yeah so I started out with Jack Daniels and then um I start drinking Bacardi were Marshall just a Bacardi straight that's all we drinking are you straight I always have a card in limbo just booked card inside a limo what's next no don't go there now I was about to say I never ever in my drinking career drink mixed drinks the moon is the worst always three front seats you never drink drawn straight you're a real rock that [ __ ] there's a lot in the way that I'm sorry I don't I don't mean to sound like alcohol this trying to bring you back but you do sound like that guy might have been the problem is what use go away - ha nah man you might have had needed some salsa water I know suggesting that right now I'm not suggesting I love you boys and I really respect you I should have got really really do understand there's two things I didn't understand we're drinking okay why people wanted a liquor to taste good no it never tastes good that would be but that's what the mixing that's what the mixed drinks shoes for you go to a you go to a bar and they put ladies right they put this much later right but I never and they put a bunch of [ __ ] in it to try and make it taste better I always tell me but it never tastes good it feels good it's like it's like you can't your mom oh my six year [Music] I understand why people wanted it to taste good and I didn't understand why people would just go have a couple of drinks if you now don't get [ __ ] up with you drinking for I'm not [ __ ] let's do you what's to use you fill yourself and then but then I'll see ya I see you like but get it enough anyway but then I also see you tell pitbull you wanna [ __ ] [Music] write me out to the Sun without sun is right when you lack do you know where and there's like different levels of clubs and they got the clubs where it's like everybody can go to do this the clubs with everybody can't go to ok so I mean underage and I walk is so I like the the context instead that people tell us thing that the DJ say what does that mean chicks is awful Lou York City voice time a couple of years already know this this is kind of like my first night and hey you know this back story to them I don't know the backstory is he walked and he did not see heart yeah here fed took a couple of more [ __ ] you [Applause] abby's future future future legend future legend always say went out when I when people bring tank up I always say that [ __ ] P punches the conviction well he throws every punch like you're trying to kill you I love those kind of fighters that's that fire I'm talking about he can't be taught do you not take out that fire you'll see wow yeah so 100% hands down the ante of water is taken out Anthony Josh water and that is it well you can never say 100% hands down and have any division and the heavyweight division is you know is no but right now we're taking your bet but taking me effect voice I will say put your money on Deonte okay but now your money what would you what would you bet I'll put my money on Deonte if I'm betting I took my war that's it how much money would you put 110 or or do I put I'll say 10 say 10 I'm confident I'm confident in English or sunny you just got they got more fire man you got more fire more fight what is this fight is supposed to take place jewel job they still haven't they ever know ok inside don't to fight each other you Wow javante is well listen man voice I want to thank you for coming down sit down thank you for Hannah you know you know [ __ ] for me I want to salute you because um I forget who are your people is well I wanted to ask them and say yeah you know should we stop drinking or should we stop smoking yeah Oh some type of [ __ ] and it was like boy race is good it can sit right - [ __ ] it man yeah I can do a little work so before we get up out of here mmm how did you develop that type of tolerance where you could actually you know sit around people that's indulgent and you Naughton don't ya you just is this sobriety one of the things as a sobriety is just about learning yourself you know I'm saying like learning exactly what you can and can't stand like when I first got sober I thought I was not had to be exactly like I am do his [ __ ] like it ain't nobody around em drinking this my guys later yeah you kind of not saying he's isolating himself but we don't go around him drinking you know I'm saying like I try was traveling with him while I was still drinking and I never drink around him you know so like when I got sober and I went around slaughterhouse they did the same thing but I'm sober my [ __ ] so I could tell when you hiding drinks hide in a bottle and you know I'm saying when y'all got drinks which are just don't want me to see it if anything that should make me feel more weird about it you know exactly is you reminding me that I'm the [ __ ] who's different from everybody you know I like it makes me feel better when everybody is just themselves do what work and you're mentally strong to be around yeah cuz if you if we working with each other and we doing some [ __ ] I want you to be in your element you let me get my element and I want you to be saying with the interviews and [ __ ] man if this is what y'all do on here you know me like I talk to people and tell them I'm coming I'm excited I'm like y'all I'm about to go [ __ ] with nori and uh how can you do that but you don't drink don't mean I got a drink I think I personally text you and told you that ladies please that's not what we do like you know like thing is thing is I'm sorry oh we want a praise are you know I'm saying Maurice so many people they want to wait for you to die you'd be hurt yeah are you did go through something tragic for people to actually be like your voice is dope yeah and that's why I was so I was so happy when you you said something about Fat Joe recently yeah he's like how long we gonna keep continuing to ignore that badger was just out here relevant and the Fat Joe came and he and he said yo yo this is a lyrical giant now for you what he said you know I'm paraphrasing of course but he big you up back and I was like this is what hip-hop is supposed to mean this is exactly what it is supposed to be the thing is we're so competitive with each other yeah and we forgot to pick up the people that were actually faster yeah you say something good about somebody you automatically dick right dick why you don't want that though that's the that's what drink chance that's what drink chance is established it's taking away that dick right up beer cause one like I'll have no problem with telling you boys I think your lyrical giant I think that you know aside from from from from from you know like the actual succession of money and it still respects all love but you're up there with M&J and you're dead lyrically thank you ma'am you don't say you're up there with them and the thing about it is that takes nothing away from me for bringing you up yeah so [ __ ] what yeah yeah you you deserve it you don't saying you deserve it and thing about hip hop is so many people they don't give a [ __ ] about saying not a single people in hip hop aren't comfortable enough in their skin what you know I'm saying it it's like everything is contingent upon other people's opinion of you so you put that being worried about them and seeking validation from those people are you put that ahead of just being a good genuine person you know I'm saying and it take to people with respect like how you got you know you can take the steps forward in big people up cuz they not gonna come at you wait you already developed a certain respect you know I'm saying it's the same here when it comes to lyricism I feel like I can compliment anybody because I've already established myself yeah as respected as a lyricist so when they hear it coming from somebody like me they look at it different that's why I said what I said about Fat Joe you know I mean like his longevity is inspiring to me maybe like innovation you like one of my idols I had conversations I had conversations on the phone with people I had conversations on the phone with key know about industry [ __ ] and there's certain things that I'm not supposed to be able to accomplish in my age statistically in this music [ __ ] right and then you turn around and you see Fat Joe do it there's always an exception to the rule always I think dream champs does that exams oh no he's great though yeah yeah yeah it's all right oh yeah pull the same thing so seeing this show to seeing this show pop off for you and [ __ ] like that that's equivalent to Fat Joe coming we'll lean back all right yeah it's like it's incredible because it's not something it's not supposed to happen if you X the critics right and the thing about art our shows so sorry think about our show it should be a cheek cold for the people whose season meaning the people would have liked everybody yeah yeah relax I don't listen I don't want to make excuses that we're here for the people who have been here ten years and more who put they grind there so now if you want to promote your little sisters you know I'm saying single and you want to come on here and you wanna you open up if you want to promote your Gator I just started rapping mm-hmm yes alligator I'm just saying I'm just making it up right now and you wanna because this this should be the Chico for [ __ ] that got ten and and then twelve or fifteen years or more in this game cuz you know what you have the regular radio station when you're nuga yeah you have the regular SoundCloud when you're no god but this should be a platform when you've seasoned not too long you know what season me season mean these [ __ ] sees you and they put you in a frigerator [ __ ] now that's you big overnight and then they take your monkey ass out and diddly fry you that season let me try to stay in the frigerator cold for certain amount of time this will fit so hard movies but this is wouldn't mean when you say your season in the hip-hop you had to go to a certain freezer yeah what the season annoying you go do this in hip-hop and then after you come to that this is the reason why I always push the hip-hop Union is because I can go to that freezer but after you wake up that next day and they put you in the oven hip-hop to take care of you for the rest of your life mmm and that's the thing about it to think about there's so many people who gave a blood sweat and tears they did it they went platinum and they [ __ ] homeless right now they working in more quarries and why korie's doesn't even exist no more let you know where they working they work in wall walk that's heavy this is well [ __ ] if you gave ten years of your life to hip-hop and you really came out there you you really worked our union it should be a union in place to be at least at least helps the only other corporation in the world that doesn't have a union is boxing and boxing is the most brutal sport in the world is this what we saying about an entertainment company yeah entertainment we beat each other I mean we beat each other because that's what we choose to but this should be a hip-hop year so I am gonna keep continuing doing this podcast gonna keep it there so we find because UTA and I forget who else who reached out to us to help us with this hip-hop you know brutal dude come on people but until we actually get this because I'm God bless you no I don't wanna you know you know blessings day first of all if something happens you tomorrow right voice you would do your level but you had to get sober you had to do something what and then do you know what happens to the whole world says well em should have stepped up yeah that would be fair about this hmm yeah but you know whose step up first tip-up the community you gave your blood sweat and tears tough yeah it should be like a guild like a get locked up in an Avery any any it is something it's all a crime to make irrespective something we [ __ ] get that [ __ ] it's a crime that we can respect as get up but if you was the get sick right now Ragna so sorry hmm there wouldn't be nothing to come to you but if what a Paul was it works right but you're all people and that's kind of nothing responsibility after you give us 17 years of your life yeah I see what you say you understand up soon at the aren't you give up 17 years of your life it should be a union that just says our voices say my [ __ ] when I got sober out I didn't even matter health insurance it's something new to people in our I didn't even have health insurance why I had a ton of money alright no other show yeah that's just that's the last thing we think about it's like it's the first thing that publishes us pop is like it's a big business and it's like a lot of money to be made but it's like you get no information when you come into this [ __ ] what everything you learn is based off of making mistakes unless you blessed enough to be around somebody anything kind of like point you in the right direction but you learn everything off of air and statistically most people don't survive those errors ten so it's not hip-hop is not set up for you to succeed to set up for you to fail for sure absolutely well please don't say hip-hop say that business the business entertainment yeah cuz hip hip hop is made for you to be whoever the [ __ ] you wanna be just gotta be who the [ __ ] on a bier but the business is definitely the behavior yeah yeah mmm [Applause]
