Rokoko Unreal 5 - Video Motion Capture (2 Minutes!!)

so you hate animating you wish you could just upload a video and have your character copy what they see not a problem let's say you have a character that uses the exact same skeleton as the unreal 5 mannequin you drag it out and you set it to animation asset and you just want to give it a fun little video animation to do that install Rococo Studio it's completely free then go to the link in the description and use Rococo AI video to motion capture create a new scene name it select the file on your computer upload your video file wait a few minutes and when you're done open the Roca code Studio it should be under recently added scenes double-click it press play to test it and if it looks okay on the right under export pick the file you want to export the animation to make sure it's set to Unreal export it then in unreal import it and set it to the unreal mannequin double-click then under skeleton show retargeting controllers then right click the pelvis and set it to all recursive skeleton then set interaction to skeleton and make sure all the ik bones are are set to animation and finally make sure the pelvis itself is set to animation scaled save it drag your animation to your character and you're done congratulations your character is now doing what it saw in the video now depending on how crazy your animation is your character's feet position might be a little funny this really isn't designed for fight scenes or crazy dances but it's pretty good at basic V tuber and NPC stuff where your full body position doesn't really move too much and you're just doing upper body motions basically you should use this for Slice of Life things also this trick only works if you are using the unreal 5 mannequin rig as a base for your character so keep that in mind when you are rigging your character anyway hope that helps and as always if you have a fantastic day and I'll see you around [Music]
