greetings everybody rodman here thank you for tuning in to the very first episode of the vultures which originally streamed live on twitch if you want to skip the overview skip ahead about three minutes or use the youtube chapters and if you want more information the full details about this scenario can be found in the description of this video enjoy the formal start of the series now we're off to a good start at least i have higher hopes than last week we are of course this is a vanilla expanded ancients series first and foremost with some other mods in there the full mod list can be seen in the details uh we're starting in this a bit of a tomb of a room with aggro in fact in fact i've got his namesake right here on a mug so let me introduce you to him uh acid agro-entel or accidental aggro uh very similar to the vault wardens in their traits except for he is too smart fast learner and iron willed with these passions his powers promising candidate chances of experiment failure is always reduced to zero percent but also uh toxic intolerance toxic buildup is increased as far as fashions go i had a little bit of fun with this here is our factions the cheese raiders the a shielded tribe the decline corsairs and zero day exploiters so the backdrop of this series is that the entire globe is kind of at war with one another there is three large factions that are absolutely slaughtering one another and i have another mod factional war which actually has them fight and we can attend those fights as a small little faction there's also some hidden uh factions in here so let me show you them as well so then there is the droid and gene line because jordan is one of the uh the developers that helped me debug things so for me it made sense that he was a bug now and then because nightbot just cheats uh the nightbot met hive because nightbot because nightbot so that's the factions for our ideology we are loyalists collectivist transhumanist and isolationists isolationist is a result of the mod we're the vulture and uh yeah research is very slow we cannot recruit at all ever we basically only can add other vultures to our group unlike last stream we are intensely bigoted against others but uh tough temperature and rough living is welcomed which should aid us in our explorations the oh some of these oddly got reset but that's okay the names of these roles keep getting reset but whatever doesn't really matter and then we still have the creo phage and then the other factions as well so the only faction that is not hostile to us is a bunch of tree hippies so that's not gonna be that handy to and uh let's get started uh right at the start here we are locked in a room and i'm gonna set up work priorities and given my advanced knowledge of this bunker of this vault here i'm gonna pop this bad boy open so for those that don't know uh the ancient mod introduces the ability to start in sealed vaults and these sealed vaults are fully formed structures that are very very hardy so i can't just like bash the door down very easily uh so what i'm doing here is stripping up some of the floor so that i can liberate some um metal some steel in order to do this gotta get the power somehow right yeah you can break them down uh luckily i did start with meals but i'd rather not be stuck in here bashing a door down ideally i'd like to keep my base intact in one piece so not breaking things is kind of important and there we are we're out of one door let's check the other set and we have a pipeline junction uh so here's what i'm gonna do i'm gonna start planting rice so that i can feed myself and then have you all vote on what door to hack very quick poll the north door or the south door it's it's totally up to you and aggro here oh it is so cold aggro is not going to be able to plant anything because this room that i'm in is uh sub-zero at the moment so instead i'll just start hacking the the pipeline junction so this thing is sort of like an infinite chem reactor uh but you have to hack it and every time you hack it you gain chem fuel and then it refreshes weekly really good way to make him fuel from nothing it's magic and that's how we do and if you're wondering about the gun that i have here it is a machine pistol just re-skinned as a result of one of the mods i'm running again if you want the full mod list it is uh well it's up in the description starting in a cold biome uh interesting actually not so much cold just not seasonal so here i am in the desert and you guys said go north so i'm in the desert here um the growth season is about uh two thirds of the year but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's warm enough so i'm obviously gonna need to get some heaters here are we doing a redo uh yeah it's up in the description in the about more or less a redo but but it's actually different it's significantly different enough that i started from scratch so one of the problems that i have here is i am getting a little hypothermic due to my lack of pants and other warm clothing i'm trying to think of uh what i could do about this so what i could do is to break down some of these much needed hydroponic farms in order to make a heater um i'm gonna have to do that because i don't really have an alternative and let me hide that poll all right let's get this door closed and let's warm up before we become fully hypothermic so the reason why i had to get rid of the hydroponic farm is i didn't have components to make a heater you can't there's no amount of floors that i could strip up to give me components so it had to be a hydroponic farm there was no alternative all right so my comfortable temperature here is 52 degrees it is now 53 in this room uh which means it's warm enough i guess while i'm idle here i'm going to start breaking down the doodad objects these sort of junk objects that are filling up the area i may also get rid of some of the cabling that i don't need there we go and once the hypothermia goes away i can get back to hacking which would be now doodads is a terminology that uh i use from all of the starcraft and well all the blizzard mapping that i've done in the past making custom maps and the like doodads is what they would call like just sort of the junk filler items so it is a it's a real term whether people call it that or not i i don't think they do but i will why is it so cold oh i don't know because it's uh just a particularly cold april day april may [Music] all right we are rec deprived uh that's something that i can solve relatively easily with just a horseshoe pen and i will do that in the morning [Music] hey mount munchies thank you for the uh recep minus four didn't stock pants yep nope no pants got no pants yeah i'm feeling i'm feeling better and better every day cheers [Music] yeah all the details are all in one image so that you don't have to go hunting around it's just one giant unified list uh which i feel like is a little bit more convenient for you all all right so aggro is praying now getting a little bit of his wreck up a little food and let's get back to hacking [Music] this should be faster paced than last stream because i've made uh important significant changes to a lot of the sort of faction ideology mods etc so we aren't in for a long haul we should see some fun combat pretty soon oh good did you just really you broke that cable because yeah of course i did that's okay uh now again what door should i hack north or south give a two and a half minutes on that while i fix the power outage the problem is once these doors close they don't open again so you know i have to be very careful not to lock myself out of my warm room because the rest of this base is is frigid and i will die if i uh freeze to death uh so at this point what i'm going to do is i'm going to turn off all of the bio modding the gene modding things to conserve power because i don't really know how much power i'm using right now and then while you all decide on the direction i'll hack uh let me explore this room so this room here is a giant empty sort of wrecked room not a rec room not a recreation room but a rect room am i gonna lose nanites oh absolutely the two nanites that are not currently stored here are going to decay and there's very little i could do about that i mean there are some things i could do about that um i guess what i could do is toss those nanites into the slingshot and just send them away because i was gonna lose him anyway so the way the slingshot works is it's like a generic gifting of resources off to a stranger some like random all right i'm not even gonna explain it the way it's like the way it works is like you just ditch items and then you get back random items uh depending on the wealth of the items you ditched that is the tldr of the way the slingshot works so i sent these two nanites here and i don't believe these nanites actually decay in the slingshot so i could just keep them in there as fuel i think and because they're not worth that much i might as well just try that all right so i'm just trying to get some power up to get this all powered on and also to remove some of the cables that are all over the floor uh just to try to get things looking a little cleaner yeah loophole found yeah i believe what it is 92.95 we'll keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't go down and looks to me like we are hacking south door get that going in just a sec all right let's uh let's finish the pipeline hack so that we can start triggering more chem fuel already yeah it's vault to vault trading but as far as the lore for this series is concerned there aren't other vaults so it doesn't functionally make any sense but yeah whatever all right open that up and hacks out let's have a little bit of food i have 32 meals here that should keep me especially given that i have a nuclear stomach so it's not like uh i'm gonna need to eat very often and then catching up the activity phase lowland uh gorgeous grumper thank you for the resubs and uh no miss as well i missed it earlier but cheers that's that there's actually a lot i missed so i apologize if i skipped over you i'm really really eager to start adding ancients to the colony so i can start raffling them off to you all and also the more people that we have the easier it will be to expand and go to war with other factions because these cheese raiders and declined corsairs and zero day exploiters they need to die yeah kind of rough last week well i agree and i hope i fixed it alright so aggro i want you to grow and point cut over construct to get the rice going and we have more options here we have a north and south door yet again this is a brand new series it is it is indeed looks like i now have access to the ancient broadcast station there is some uranium in this large hermetic crate and i will run these cables to gain access to two more doors and i'm gonna do that now because so let's schedule i'm going to copy my current schedule so that i can paste it back in but i'm going to tell aggro here just to work so that i can maybe sleep in a bed if i could find a bed i found a bed who would have thought and we have an assault rifle and a steel flat helmet all right let me toss this the flak helmet on i'm going to get rid of the sleeping spot because that won't be needed anymore uh don't worry about the potted plant i don't think it's going to bring the room together now the only fear is hypothermia there is a real case that um i can't keep the full facility warm enough for aggro until he has more clothing so i got to keep an eye on that so let's go back to schedule here paste in his sleep schedule and have him go to sleep in a proper bed so we could sleep faster and well do i thank you for the resub welcome all right you have about one minute left to vote on the door to hack and i am going to try to power up the entire facility or at least all the parts of it that i currently see and it looks like i need to run a little power out here and run a little power out here to open these two doors these two doors are frozen shut um at the moment it's 60 degrees here and as long as it is warmer than 51 i'm okay so i have to keep an eye on the temperature but since we it's april may and it's becoming warmer over time not colder over time i should be okay but it's one of those should be with like a lot of asterisks if you know what i mean all right looks like you guys want north door and i just woke up a whole lot of these doors here good so this looks like a bathroom and this is ooh a wonderful dining room with beer and an ancient heater awesome uh let's go ahead and stick the cedar in this large central room to start warming us up so i'm going to move that now i'm also going to increase the heat up to 88 or maybe not that hot what is my upper 83 so let's do 80 fahrenheit or 27 celsius so that uh i can perhaps start to heat up more of this facility and let's hack this north door that's what you all voted on and then i still have yet to explore this direction and i'm gonna start to cue up all the junk items to be broken down there's a lot of rehabbing of this facility that we'll need doing to bring it up to uh operational parameters magic ap thanks for all the gifted subs you you have pleased the yoda lord and as a result two peanuts have appeared before him all right this is a much bigger vault than the last one oh yeah i will admit i've pre-picked this vault for story reasons so this wasn't random it was uh predetermined cause it's a nice one [Music] but that's all i did i didn't change anything but the starting character and the vault the washing machines don't work sadly no how do you pick the fault um i just modified it this modified the scenario so uh what what should we do next we can either hack the pod or hack the south door one or the other and put a short timer on that while we do that i want to try to get this uh this door open because i don't know what's behind i feel like bob barker what's behind door number four that was bob barker right uh so we've got the power generator a chem fuel plant this chem fuel plant seems to be plugged into nothing so i will move it and then just a whole lot of sort of garbage uh doo doo dad type stuff there's also yet another door here that i don't have access to this facility went into hard lockdown so for me to open up this door uh i need to run these cables here got it and that's gonna be for tomorrow because aggro here is sleeping oh also let me switch from the machine pistol to the assault rifle because that might be nice monty hall bob barker was the price is right thank you was that was the behind yeah yeah that or drew carey because drew carey ran well no that was the prices right as well i don't know i didn't really watch those shows as that might be uh sort of obvious all right so the pod here there's someone named sammy inside uh sammy is going to be raffled off to you guys so let me get that raffle timer up and refresh the eligibility anyone that is active in the chat between now and when the raffle timer runs out is eligible to win sammy and get sami named after you and then also uh perhaps decide on if and when you'll go into uh the gene modding and you know some other sort of decisions that i'll allow you to make so good luck i do hope to be trying to add a rather large roster uh certainly larger than last stream so that there is a lot more characters that can be raffled off to you all three hospital beds i know three ancient crypto sleep suspenders which are more or less hospitable beds and then a whole lot of these vital monitors which i am uninstalling because we don't need that many vital monitors or at least not yet with our population of one so here we go sammy is out sammy sam sammy garador a joywire addiction council wait they were an addict and then they became an addiction well i guess that makes sense uh quick sleeper masochist optimist cannot do intellectuals so they can't hack like at all uh they do plant shoot social their powers weapons expert aiming time is reduced ranged cooldown is reduced so they shoot faster um gotta get a mini gun for that one and then weakness is unstable psychic sensitivity is increased 100 percent um they have a stab scar on their left arm that is painful which is kind of nice because they're a masochist so that works for me and um yeah this is going to be raffled off they also have pants i think what i'm going to do is i'm going to drop the flak jacket off of sammy and have aggro wear it and let's do the work priorities as well so they're both good wardens you are going to be now our farmer because you are passionate about that and i'd like you to gain skills they also came with a low shield pack which is kind of nice and a bolt action rifle so now aggro um hasn't uncovered groin but at least has a flak jacket which warms him up to 20 uh warms him up a bit so he's not so temperature sensitive all right and i think all that is left to do is to hack the south so i'm going to start hacking the south while sammy um builds well tries to build she just failed uh while she builds and vomits everywhere aggressively why is all the steel allowed i don't know what you mean oh this deal i just hadn't unforbidden all right trying to get uh this little home of ours holy cow als gamer oh my lord that is a lot of gifted subs and shell bells well all right you've got you got the the pink plush cam now cheers dude now everybody in the chat is subbed [Music] it was fun having you as a a character in the dwarven lords i'm very excited for the upcoming mini series next weekend for even more of you all uh to be named after characters it is it's i i just love involving the community as that's probably apparent everyone in the chat is subbed except for a few except for a few and i'm sorry about that all right so here's the southern door uh something else that i could do is to start splitting up the room so they have their own rooms so sammy i'm going to put you in here so that you have your own bedroom and then i'm going to uninstall the other furniture so that this becomes aggro's bedroom and i'm sure this will change over time as our population grows i'm going to need to actually build bedrooms and all but uh the benefit of having your own and slightly impressive bedroom is going to be kind of nice and then arrow will have a very impressive one marauder and valor roses thank you for gifting out subs cheers well okay cheers cause you can't see me don't forget the extra door in the reactor room oh good call i actually had forgotten about that and forever lily thank you for having us up to lddb all right we have yet another door and well actually two more so we'll hit that in the morning figure out what that is magic hippie thanks for the bits too we also have two turrets here uh these ancient security turrets which i'm going to flick off for now all right so what is behind door number two we have got meals ovens microwaves stoves man this looks like prison architect and then behind door number one we've got it is uh open tile which is going to be really really awesome for transport pods and i'm going to strip up all the floors in there yeah and us ancient solar generator swank all right i'm going to clean up some of these cables that are everywhere and i think that noise was the giveaway so it goes to kellyanne congrats kellian if you want to change your name from kelly into something else uh just let me know and then the other thing i'm going to do is i'm probably going to wait until i have a little bit more biomodding stuff added to this but um you can also sort of decide when you want to go in the pod and stuff like that [Music] so congrats [Music] rigged i know i know all right so here's the next thing what should our priority be all right so three simple options seek out other vultures we are vultures by the way um fixing up the nest this is the nest and then viewer submitted suggestions and i would open up that uh that inbox the other thing i'm probably going to want to do is to expand the home zone a little bit to actually include everywhere and it looks like fixing up the nest is likely well it's leading so i'm gonna start working on fixing up the nest just cleaning it up so that it is not so gross so that we get some more benefit um yeah how's my farm okay so we do have rice i have another door in the generator room on the north side uh i don't see any other doors so seeking out other vultures would be opening this last southern locked door as that is likely leading to the outside these guys were nutty and they built their kitchen um furniture out of uranium who does that all right something else that i could do is to add some additional lights in around the area so that we can see what we're doing a little bit better because uh we're running off of a geothermal generator that is uh it has plenty of light or plenty of power i i don't know what words mean anymore alright we have a lot of work to do to make this clean and let me put a timer on that one more minute to vote more coffee oh i feel you all right there needs to be power drop there these power cables are probably not needed the one that runs through this bedroom probably unnecessary [Music] [Music] sorry about your uh little bedroom there [Music] there we go oh and that dropped power okay glow in the dark furniture never stub that little uh toe again a little r yep it's true all right fixing up the nest [Music] got it eager to do it so we still haven't removed the other ancient beds in here the reason i'm breaking these down is they can't be moved uh one of the things i want to try to do is i want to try to keep as much of the architecture in this facility ancient styled which means at the next possible time that i'm able i want to get rid of this heater and replace it with an ancient heater basically ancient only would be ideal there's a car in the bedroom uh this is actually a war spider remnant there is a ancient car frame over here though and faction babarment going on two unknown factions are engaged in fierce shelling in a battle nearby oh god real nearby don't come over here although i can't really be bombarded because we have overhead mountain for just about the entire base rendering us basically immune to that kind of bombing which is probably good the other thing i'm going to start to do is to replace the floors that are cracked asphalt with concrete it's not going to be the prettiest solution but at least is a stop gap until we have smithing researched that's another thing that i could do is to get a research bench up oops i missed and then probably most importantly is do this in the kitchen area as that is the the rec room dining room kind of important to keep that nice it's very impressive now so i guess that that was good [Music] did the vault wardens in it did it did it it was too buggy and i abandoned it as a result it died in glorious death sadly well things are definitely getting cleaned uh should i prioritize research yes or no meaning that i would have agro hop on build and hop on a research bench instead of uh working on his current tasks so the research rate that we have is very slow i just wanted to make that clear it's a 50 research rate which is pretty penalizing but for good reason uh the lore behind this is that the entire world has descended into sort of a dark age of um violent chaos and because of that we're just doing science is just very difficult as a result result of the dark ages so research rate for us is terrible [Music] but the nest here is uh starting to look kind of nice kind of fast so yeah this is a proper bedroom now and you guys say yes all right got it uh where i'm going to put [Music] my research bench sorted in this location [Music] does the santa solar panels even work yes in fact they're ruggedized to the point where um they're not even susceptible to [Music] solar flares they actually generate more power during solar flares that's one of the benefits of all the ancient structures is that they're they actually become better during solar flares not worse which is kind of nice uh so first research what research should we queue up uh so the options here would be smithing and that would unlock the fueled smithy melee weapons keeping in mind that um our ideology hates neolithic weapons so it's not really a viable weapon to use unless we want to suffer penalties but it does lead to machining and other things we could also go straight from microelectronics which is a lofty one because that will take just a lot of effort and time we could go for beer or cycloid i'm just going to call it beer and tea alike and i think that's probably all that i want to include at the moment i guess sterile materials [Music] i'll include that as well because sterile materials does um help out with research speed and as we are uh transhumanist it also helps out with um biosculpting our biosculpt rates go up kellyanne do you know how to mine no you don't all right so taking a look at our current workforce no one knows how to handle animals no one really knows how to cook no one really knows how to mine no one knows how to taylor smith art craft and she won't clean ever um yeah we have some obvious gaps in our workforce but that's fine is the carpet in the research room yes this is uh this is indeed carpet which i will likely strip up and replace with concrete as carpet is kind of cloth is hard to come by when you have a three by three farm little farm [Music] a little bit lighter nice and uh let's cue up smithing that's seems to be the popular choice if you want to change your mind in the next minute uh not likely to happen but if you want to change your mind um happy to adjust whoa rapid fire deconstruction love it can outside raids affect me until i open the door i don't believe so no i'm sort of uh immune so another thing that i wanted to do is to set up a stockpile for food so i'm going to have this be high priority food except for pemmican and pack of survival meals and have this is preferred because we're transhumanists we don't mind eating out of um nutrient paste and because none of us can cook it also makes sense to just eat nutrient paste and dry moonlight thank you for the resub 13 months of awesomeness i i love it all right let's uh let's get rid of this horseshoe pin because this is uh dexterity played 100 and then these foosball tables are dexterity played 110 so it's best if we uh practice our dexterity more productively and smithing it is yeah we are going to be eating rice pudding so these hoppers here are going to be vegetarian except for raw fungus copy paste paste and then uh what we're going to do is to assign our guys to eat paste only so i'm going to delete some of these other food and then adjust paste to be nutrient paste oops there we go the reason being is i i want to preserve the packers survival mills for while we're traveling on the overworld thanks oh that made it worse it up went down the wrong tube i'm good i'm just gonna sound like i'm dying for a minute okay maybe it's done nothing like hot coffee going in your lungs i can sort of feel it just sitting there oh yeah that's smart just turn it over to the yoda cam so you don't have to watch me suffer no sarcasm thank you [Music] we don't pay you to die i know tacos i know i gotta work on that work on the whole not dying thing pet echo if she's in the room she is not but i can try to call her all right give her a ring we'll see if she shows she's a fickle animal as many of you probably already know so aggro let's uh let's actually have you research rather than deconstruct all right new question should i go exploring or uh fix up my health the nanites are off oh yes that's they are thank you for catching that that would have been upsetting because i would lose three nine nights for no reason other than the automatically plugging them in failed where is killian there we are nutrient paste one of the advantages of nutrient paste is you don't end up ever eating um you don't eat like without tables because nutrient paste you uh you redeem from the dispenser which means you don't pocket it which is kind of nice so you see here we don't have it in our pockets there is still nanites in the sling and they have not degraded so this is an infinite suspender uh obviously this ooh two glow wood meds obviously this uh this mod didn't account for the rad genius i can't even say that with a straight face but um yes i have outsmarted it that's kind of broken uh yeah we can actually decide on whether you think it's broken enough for me to not do it because i'm okay with that so we're almost done fixing up all the broken asphalt except for this room but i have plans for that room that are different maybe [Music] actually it all looks like sand underneath i don't know i was hoping that maybe there's some arable soil here that i could farm in but uh taking a look at it it does not look like that to be the case so what i'll do is i'll strip up where the asphalt is and see if there's any uh there's a little bit of soil here so maybe there's some soil under here that i could farm in but it's it's quite likely that we're just gonna have to rely heavily on the hydroponic farms and fixing up the home is leading by a long shot you guys really do like the renault don't you i don't blame you i like it too so at some point once i uh leave the confines of my home i will um do the defogging because there's a bit of a bug as i'm sure you can see where i the walls don't get revealed is it the door behind the green thing no it's not it's just unrevealed fog because um remora was never meant to be played like this so the fog revealer doesn't really work i think i'm gonna move uh aggro's bed because this is a thoroughfare that leads to the dining room which causes problems uh sleep disruption but yeah here here you can see the other side of this it's just a empty empty sort of nothing wall that you can't see why did i remove the thermo uh just to get the floor down to increase the uh sterile properties of the room i'll put it back these these uh ancient geothermal generators can be minified unlike the regular ones so i've now fixed up underneath all right smithing we have made very little progress but we're working on it is there soil around the um the solar generator i'm checking that there is a bridge here which sort of indicates that there's likely mud so maybe there's soil let me um not strip up the bridge because you can't really plant on mud so this might be a way for us to grow crops with a um with a line of sight to the sky or whatever you want to call it also it looks like we have enough power that i can turn on the ancient turn off the ancient can fuel power generator because we are exceeding the amount of power that we need my day is going pretty well eros how about you wild man wanders in okay i like how i can see the wild man he's a 71 year old uh teetotaling singulan nudist maybe we'll uh torture him or excuse me interrogate him oh thank you blight jesus could you leave me with a
