hey everybody hope you're all doing well my name is steven and this is the story time channel today we have some i don't work here ladies stories and our first story of the day is by frankska5 yes this is my culture english is not my mother language this happened to my cousin a couple of years ago and since he has no interest in reddit he let me post it here my family is from chile and my cousin could be considered light-skinned latino he won on a vacation slash work trip to the usa with his group of friends who are also a traditional dance group while they were in the usa they were hired to dance in a few events during one of these events he realized that the type of soda he likes had run out so he went with his dance outfit on to buy at a nearby store now this type of costume is called wazzo elegante it is used to dance quaker and is very different from a mexican charo this happened in may a few days before cinco de mayo sia's cousin and dk is dumb karen my cousin went to the supermarket grabbed a soda bottle and he heard a loud voice excuse me where are the what the heck do you think you're doing he turned around to see a white woman wearing sunglasses and clothes that were too small for her many meals ago cousin says ah don't play dumb who do you think you are to wear that outfit do you think mexican culture is an ornament where is the manager of this store how dare they use mexican culture to earn money i'm not sure what you are not innocent either agreeing to do such a disrespectful thing give me your name now i'll report you and this store to corporate i'm not oh yes you are you will do it now or you are fired at this point the woman's screams dragged a small crowd while this karen gave a speech on racism cultural appropriation mexico and politics at this point my cousin was already angry he needed to get back on stage soon so he just interrupted her and said in his broken english chilean insults shut up already i'm not mexican i'm chilean mexico is not the only country in latin america you chilean insults ignorant this is my culture and if you more chilean insults are so racist that you can't see the difference in one latino culture from another it is not my problem now get out of my way i need to pay for my drink because i don't work here and if you want to stop being so ignorant go to that cultural center and pay to see our culture which is where i do work then he left with even more chilean insults one would think that the part about not working here and talking about the cultural center would put some sense into her head but no she decided to double down on her stupidity my cousin paid the drink but was detained by security at the door because this cameron reported that a man in a mexican suit had attacked her and now she demanded that they arrest him his name and him be fired from his job my cousin was running out of time to get back on stage and security wanted to check the cameras before calling the police to which this woman refused and just wanted my cousin to be arrested the problem is that to check the cameras they needed the manager of the store who had gone out to lunch recently fortunately one of the witnesses was a peruvian who recognized the characteristic insults of my country and gave testimony my cousin received a gift card for the inconvenience and the woman was banned from that supermarket since it was not the first time that she made a whole scene about the clothes of other buyers or politics it's good to be able to call somebody out when they're obviously being insensitive to a culture it's another thing to be blatantly ignorant have any of you guys personally seen somebody be so ignorant to something like this involving culture let me know in the comments down below our next story is by jim jam the piano man that's a customer i'm the employee so here's the cast list me as me customer is c manager is m head of shopping mall is richard head so i used to work in a store that sold a lot of gadgets and gizmos for techy slash geeky people and i'll admit before i was transferred and promoted i enjoyed the store more but that's another story we had demo items which we were to play with in the store to promote and sell them these included toy drones kinetic sand mobile phone vr goggles and my favorite the crossbow so one evening i was working with my manager and since it was quiet and an hour before close i had stocked up and decided to have a chat with manager whilst playing with the crossbow and shooting sucker darts at a target that was facing away from the store entrance it was placed right next to the tills but we didn't mind the darts this was when a lad around the age of 18 to 20 comes in and he seems like someone who would have fitted in well with us and so i greeted him into the store and he asked if he could have a go of the crossbow to which i obliged because that's what it's there for but obviously i had to supervise him in case he tried to do anything silly but he didn't anyway he was firing the darts and i went around to the tool area to collect the ones that both stuck to the dartboard and ones that fell to the floor just so it's clear our tops are black with the store's name on it and i usually wear a black long sleeve top underneath since i was body conscious about my arms and the customer was wearing a long-sleeved black top this is the confusion so the customer and i are chatting about some new games that have just come out and as i go around to the tills to pick up the darts i get on the floor to fish for one that's rolled underneath them and i hear this conversation richard head says give me that this is promoting violence and i've had many complaints customer says oh okay sorry i say excuse me what's the matter i've told him before that i don't want to see this thing being used as it's a weapon right he doesn't work here so i don't know if you've confused him with another employee also i don't understand how a bit of plastic that shoots sucker darts is classed as a weapon i've seen him working in here plenty of times and i've warned him on occasions to put this away as it promotes violence so at this point i'm flabbergasted at the sheer arrogance of this man and he's supposed to be the owner of the shopping mall our shop is situated in as i'm questioning him as to why a toy crossbow is promoting violence my manager walks in to richard head saying because this looks like a weapon and fires projectiles regardless of whether they're plastic it's still promotion of violence and weaponry and i don't want this in the mall manager says okay then so what about the armed police that walk around here daily or the game shop that's currently promoting call of duty or even shops that sell films games and music relating to violence wars and weapons well they're licensed to sell those products manager says no you've harassed my staff many times for petty reasons you have just spoken rudely to a customer and i will happily back him up when he makes a formal complaint about you at this point the richard head threw the crossbow onto a table and walked away my manager just looked at me and customer and said what a tick which we both laughed at i apologized to the customer about the situation but he saw the funny side of it and was confused why richard had targeted us to which manager and i shrugged the customer bought a crossbow and target to which they knocked 10 off and he left happy extra customer came in plenty more times and we became friendly with each other and are still good friends to this day he brought the situation up to me yesterday which i said i had to post to i don't work here honestly all things considered you got a good friend out of it and they got 10 percent off of it it ended up being a good thing being yelled at by this richard head because both you guys made out pretty nicely this next story is by oppapai 666 i don't care if you don't work here it's still bad customer service i was washing my dog at a local pet store they have public dog baths there with tons of signs about cost of using them i was rinsing my dog off when i heard someone ask an employee do you guys trim dog nails here i kept rinsing because i don't work there and assumed they were talking to an employee i also couldn't see them because the dog bath is somewhat talked behind some shelves excuse me i heard someone say in an annoying voice i still didn't look up i don't work there from now on cc will stand for runty customer a greying man with a potbelly and deep voice i heard the dog wash gate open so i glanced over my shoulder there's multiple baths to use there and saw someone staring at me with their hands up runty customer pulled down their mask and strongly said excuse me do you trim nails here i said oh i don't think they do but i don't work here you'll have to ask someone who does but i just asked you why would i ask someone else because i don't work here if you don't work here why are you washing someone's dog i'm washing my own dock this is a public dog bath i pointed at the sun that red dog bath 10 per use so you don't trim nails here you just wash dogs how much would it be if i brought two dogs in dude i don't freaking work here i just told you that three times go ask someone else i don't care if you don't work here that's still bad customer service i already have a short temper with stupid people but i was getting more than annoyed by runty customer especially because he kept getting closer and closer in a gated bathing area and my dog was starting to get agitated by him i don't work here you freaking idiot i told you over and over again freak off my dog started growling which he only does because of the excitement he's not aggressive runty customers stormed off slamming the gate and knocking over some dog treats i could hear him from the other side of the store yelling at the cashier i want his name now i want him fired the cashier says i'm sorry who are you talking about the employee at the dog wash the cashier looks in my direction i'm the only employee here that man washing his dog is a customer is there something i can do for you yes get your manager on the phone but that man is not an employee i'm actually the only employee here today i don't care cashier was silent for a few seconds and said i just told you he doesn't work here i'm not calling the manager but i am going to ask you to leave i'm not leaving until you call your manager if you don't leave i'm calling the police freak you i'm writing a review this is terrible customer service runtee customer stormed out i've never in my life been confused as an employee anywhere especially at this pet store they wear blue shirts i was wearing a black hoodie after he was yelling at the cashier i couldn't tell if he was all there in the head either way i don't work here yeah this guy kind of sounded like he had a few wires loose a few quarters short of a dollar if you will he just couldn't grasp the sense of a self-serve station at a dog washing place our next story is by umag p i caused the situation at the time i lived in the uk and moved to london after two years elsewhere i wasn't familiar with the city yet nor the modes of transportation i already had friends that had moved there earlier the first weekend one of them invited me out to a nightclub in angel north central london and at 1am we all headed home except their home was in a different direction from my home during the day it wasn't a problem i could hop on the tube the subway because i knew my exit no matter what part of the city but i had yet to learn how to travel the buses and particularly the night buses once it gets laid in london only certain buses run at night and there are far fewer buses to catch we didn't have apps at the time smartphones weren't quite a thing yet i had to call transport for london's free service that helps you sort out where you're going and how to get there they told me to get on the xx bus on a particular side of the street and it would eventually get me close to where i needed to be it seemed a bit strange because the bus they were telling me to catch was headed north and i needed to head south and east but perhaps it ran in a loop so i boarded the bus well about seven to eight minutes into the journey i was getting nervous it kept heading north but also in a very residential area with nothing else and no one else around finally i got off and started heading back south i walked back two bus stops and there was a man tinkering with the ticket dispenser i asked him how i could get to the high street a main road so i could get back to xx he began explaining the route to get there but as he looked down the empty eerie street he paused he explained that he would shortly be done fixing the ticket machine and could give me a lift to the high street so for the second time in my life i got into a stranger's car in fairness he had a tfl sticker on his car so i was rather confident he probably did work for them and wasn't just waiting for a lost stranger to come along so he could abduct her i'm not sure why but he had me get into the backseat of his little two-door car and like the first time i accepted a ride from a stranger i had my phone in my hand hidden from view with 911 ready finger on the call button the entire time please note if you are living in the uk or plan to go there the emergency number is 999 not 911 however there was no handbook that i received upon moving to the country that said as such also note because of the amount of american film and television consumed in the uk many residents are unaware of the fact that the emergency number is not 911 and should you call it will redirect you to 999 anyway i am generally the friendly sort and also one of my professors in undergrad told us that she once prevented a rapist in central park by telling him her name about her family etc the more an attacker who doesn't know about you finds out about you the more disinclined they can become so i started chatting with the man he told me things which i don't know how credible they are but if they are were fascinating by the end of the chat he had simply driven me right to my flat instead of dropping me off at the bus stop i needed and after all that we come to the actual reason for the story he let me out of the back seat and as i got out and said good night a bunch of drunk british kids stumbled by one of whom thought he was a taxi and tried to get a lift the gentleman then said nah mate i'm not a taxi got into his car and drove off thank you for the lift wherever you are all things considered it was a pretty shady situation but it worked out and seemed overall fairly pleasant it's just i wouldn't endorse it as a go-to scenario our next door is by fun computer 6668 some girls mistook my dad as their uber driver this happened years ago when i was still in university my dad was picking me up from college and he brought my little brother with him who sat in the back he stopped near my school gym keep in mind that my dad was never an uber driver he didn't have the uber logo on his car he saw me walking toward him so he unlocked the car door then suddenly these two girls approached his car and started to open the back door my dad with his limited english yelled at them because he thought they were trying to snatch my brother these two girls were quite embarrassed and scared because an older man was yelling at them with an unknown language i basically had to rush over to explain the situation for both parties i guess this should be a lesson for all people please check the license plate of your uber car before you open the door i don't know if i'm just overly paranoid but if i was doing an uber i definitely would like triple check that it's the right car before i ever go to open the door but i'm guessing these two girls were probably pretty comfortable and pretty familiar with the whole ubering thing so it probably just skipped their mind and the car probably fit the description and our final story of the day is by kooky goose excuse me where do you think you're going for a bit of background this event happened six years ago i was a trainee teacher fresh out of uni after just completing my art degree in the uk i was nearing the end of my pgce postgraduate certification in education a year-long teaching qualification specializing in art and design at secondary slash high school level i was 23 but looked a lot younger and the school i was training at allowed teachers as well as sixth formers 16 to 18 year old students to wear smart business dress both staff and sixth formers wore lanyards with school id cards teachers wore black lanyards and students the color that corresponded to their house edit think harry potter i had seen the teacher that was involved in this event around the school before i try to say hello or at least smile at the other staff and students but i remember this particular teacher wasn't very approachable or friendly i will say teachers are hard working and often stressed i don't hold her cold demeanor against her as a new teacher i was just rather intimidated by her for the sake of the story let's call her intimidating teacher i.t i also need to explain that on certain days and at certain times teachers are required to do duty which involves standing in a location and ensuring students are in the right place and behaving properly it was lunchtime i was walking towards a few teachers who were on duty when i saw an intimidating teacher among them i probably should have chosen a different name for her i made eye contact with intimidating teacher excuse me where do you think you're going upstairs it's lunchtime and i don't have a lesson you are not allowed to be in this area students are to be in the hall me holds up lanyard calmly so the black color is visible and continues walking i'm staff intimidating teacher confused oh at this point i walked past intimidating teacher and the two other members of staff who were beginning to laugh i didn't wait to continue the conversation but hastily continued up the stairs i was rather confused and embarrassed that a teacher would speak slash shout at another member of staff the way they did she had mistaken me for a sixth former but that wasn't an excuse i made a mental note to never speak to students or staff in that way i think being polite and courteous to whoever is always a good thing the only time i think it would ever be completely acceptable to speak to students or staff in that way is if they were being absolutely belligerent or hostile towards you then you know it's a lot more understandable to be like that but just because somebody's walking in a hall and they're not supposed to be nobody wants to see that person or even be that person that flips out all like you're not supposed to be here students are supposed to be in the hall that's how you very quickly get the reputation of being that teacher or that staff member but with that being said that's all the time we
