[Music] Oh Baby Bop if that Mockingbird don't sing [Music] if that dries up goodbye it with a big lightsaber battle game a sweet smoke really good [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] by a dog named Rover if that dog food apart by your security [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] thank you well we come from Ithaca New York which is Western New York but west north of New York City but there's a lot of old-time American fiddle banjo music that comes out of that area for some reason for some random reason we like to stay at the top of the Appalachian Mountains it really is really we are yeah if you look from Mars yeah yeah slightly hopeful but anyway we're gonna play an old fiddle tune called five miles to town good dance tune yeah [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right so let's do some original stuff too yeah we did the last day we did were traditional tunes and we're gonna do one that's the title track to the CD that we've made most recently it's called nowhere in time [Music] 2114 I'll be in my grave and rather be the oldest man jesus never said [Music] nineteen years ago people asked nobody [Music] [Applause] [Music] if stories tall doctor we're part of everything [Music] [Applause] [Music] 100 years ahead 100 years I can travel either way but don't leave my mind we go where [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] I [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] yes I was actually commissioned to write that song it's the first song I've ever been commissioned to write and it was at a time in my life when I was having a hard time writing songs and this particular organization approached me and wanted me to write a song in two weeks about people over 50 reinventing their lives it was the AARP and they asked me to write a song for them and they offered to pay me in advance which just happened to be like two weeks before Christmas and I was broke I'll tell you what like I wanted to go buy a bunch of presents for my kids and that's time whatever and I had this opportunity but and it was very difficult to try to write a song in two weeks about something you know they wanted me to like write something about life and a hundred years from now and a hundred years before and about people over 50 reinventing their lives and I'm like definitely I can do that oh yeah I am so me but it was like literally like the day before we had to go in and record the song that I realized I'm not getting anywhere I'm going no I ain't going no I ain't going no that's it you know like that's the song you know so one of the songwriters that we really love that influences the songs that we write Townes Van Zandt and and we'd like to do a song of his and dedicated to one of the people who's cooking tonight because they were very excited about that song so get Rosie to sing it for you what is it really called close your eyes we'll be there in the morning yeah is that what it's cool [Music] there's no stronger [Music] side [Music] close your eyes I'll be [Music] close your eyes I'll be there's lots of things along the road I surely like to see I like myself and free but you're toxis by always fall to me close your eyes I'll be I love you [Music] I can never see home road-legal I close your eyes I'll be close your eyes on me [Music] Oh close your eyes I'll be close your eyes I'll be [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] well that makes you want to go home that's a good thing when the song makes you want to go home yeah start this one off it's a great fiddle tune right glorying the meeting house yeah was recorded at Luther strong was recorded in prison and in jail anyway by Alan Lomax he went down that hazard Kentucky to find this particular fiddle player and it was kind of hard to find him until he looked in jail he was able to bring him in the fiddle into jail which is hard to do these days [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Applause] [Music] a little bit slower now well this is one that I wrote some years ago it's kind of a it's a conversation and a tribute to someone who I loved it passed away and so it's kind of like the two different vocal parts of the song are from perspectives of myself and this person it's called I'm with you always [Music] I'm with you [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] right we have another original for you from our new CD it's not so new but feels new still to me I still like all the songs this is what I wrote it's a Walt and it's a love song and I wrote it for a gal who left New York that I was very much entangled with and she moved out here to California and tried to woo her back by writing her a song from her perspective about what a great guy kind of work she's now halfway getting there she's in Colorado I'm gonna try to get her to Kansas City at least [Laughter] the honeybee honeybee [Music] oh by the moon and the waves of the sea what is this first by the snow and the world there's a boy over yonder [Music] please not like the one that agreed him to be he's older any smolders this is by a tree he's arranging his flowers [Music] all over [Music] I got places to go I got people [Music] me [Music] sometimes I don't see him at the mulberry tree as me some flowers and the smell starts before I get all pissy [Music] by the moon and the waves of the sea what is the slow lane to me [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] you told me this morning I just I I've started feeling bad for friends that are seeing me after a while and I forget to tell them that I'm pregnant and they're kind of like oh yeah it's great to see you you know they're kind of unclear you know you really just can't ask somebody if they're pregnant most of the time I'm almost at that point where it could be nothing else but almost have you tried plane sitting like this yet no but I'm gonna be fine it'll be interesting the bow might get am i right there well might be getting in the way of spelling at some point hey guitar would be easy well I'm super excited for Rosie I'll tell you why [Applause] [Music] we're gonna play one more it's a set of two songs two tunes really and then we're gonna take a short break and hang out visit a little bit so the first one's an old old old Lexington Virginia dance tune with a few words that don't make much sense [Music] Oh my bags are don't try to stop me don't try to stop me [Music] I'm down finally losing a baby [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] going up on mountain there I'll take my [Music] where the pistol in my pocket in a rifle around [Music] [Applause] it's nothing that I mind explain [Music] little sister [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] I'm working on that new railroad up to [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Applause] [Music] vibrators [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] all your day lies I feel [Music] my breath [Music] I can see my body not technically tomorrow I'm floating right beside though you touch me [Music] terribly high to the mountains pray the good luck takes my soul not me [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh all right I'm getting hungry are you sure we're gonna breathe down here for a minute and then sing a song that we learned from our friend Dirk Powell who wrote this next level it's called water bound talking to some lovely ladies over the break and just talking about the similarity between you know I'm with you always kind of speaking to somebody after they passed and also just kind of speaking to the little one that's inside my belly right now and this next song water bound kind of represents that for me there's a similarity between those two transitions yeah in and out of this you said in there you're gonna get so deep [Music] nice [Music] the stars are shining storm come up and the trees come down the strangers [Music] cause my late mother no no no ass they're staples dry and the winter's night you turn your head we can see the a black background of boxcar rusty door and a falling star ain't got a dime in my visions and water bound Anakin [Music] this I'm gone and I won't believe me [Music] save my brain and bulb organ water still a water about [Music] come down [Music] [Applause] [Music] trumble's final answer [Music] it's me it's me you give I got a problem I cancer [Music] they see something new and I need up it only comes from you it's me again [Music] I've got a problem and I need it only comes from yes I need it only comes from you [Music] [Applause] I see these crazy good drawings going around sorry I didn't see anything we're gonna do a couple more for you [Applause] [Music] the moving bands arriving in two days there we go alright yeah well we do really appreciate it it's just it's the best way for us to play music in the house you know in a home where the music is supposed to be played and I also know how much you know it takes to put these on so I really do appreciate you all being here and thank you David Allen for [Applause] that will do a gruesome train song here have a good train wreck old-school entertainment here so Casey Jones was driving one train everybody knows about him because he was like a hero of some kind but no one ever talks about the guy that ran into him that was going the wrong way so that happens to be this guy Ruben we call it fake lawyer fake lawyer it's called Rubens train [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] take my reason [Music] got some whisperer give me some [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay one more huh yeah okay we're gonna leave you with one it's a last original and we have for you tonight a ribbons and bows and it's about being all together with people you love enjoying the real deal at least that's what inspired it so we do have some CDs for sale at the back of the room and we can all have some Chilean farm bread together nice fighting [Music] [Music] with you I would feel [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] I would feel [Music] [Applause] if I needed you would you come to me would you come to me if you needed me I would come to you I swim the Seas in the light and the morning you may be surprised if you close your eyes and let break my heart into if I needed would you come to me will you come [Music] if you needed me I would come to you I'd swim [Music] ladies [Music] [Applause] [Music] she's aside and a treasure for the poor to fight if I needed you would you come to me would you come to me and ease my pain if you needed me I would come to you I'd swim the Seas for to ease your pain I
