hey guys welcome back to my channel today we are doing a review on a very popular product that I have seen all over social media and all over YouTube it is the Revlon salon one-step hair dryer in volumizer I'm sure you guys have seen this everywhere but I ordered mine off of Amazon and I really want to try this out for myself because I don't want to say this in like a derogatory way but I've seen a lot of reviews on this a lot of positive reviews from white girls who have nice tame straight hair already and they love this because it gives their hair more volume which is great however I need to know if it works on this hair okay I need to know if it works on frizzy big unruly coarse ethnic hair so yeah I wanted to do this review not only for myself but for you guys because we need to know if this works on all hair types and not just one hair type oh yeah before we get to the video please don't forget to subscribe to my channel give this video a thumbs up follow your girl on Instagram and without further ado let's get into the video okay let's open this up I hope I don't have to get up and get scissors or anything because y'all my legs are so sore I can't even express to you how painful it was for me to get down on the floor to film this video so painful this is way bigger than I thought it was gonna be I don't know why I thought this was like a tiny product it's huge this is so big now look he's scared because this is kind of heavy and I have a lot of hair and it's really long I'm starting to get tired if you haven't heard of this product before it's basically a blow dryer in a brush in one so it claims that it dries and volumizes in one step it does a salon blowout and up to half the time and it creates 36% less breakage it also says it'll give you 30% less frizz using advanced technology and it reduces heat damage it also has a swivel cord which is nice so it doesn't get all tangled it has heat settings on the bottom like a blow dryer wood so it has cool low and high heat and then the brush itself I don't know if you guys can see but it has your normal brush bristles but then it has the boar hair I think that's what it's called which is nice because the boar bristle brushes are the ones that really pull the hair and smooth it out when you're blow-drying it so since this has both brushes it should be able to create a smooth finish and then just some of the things I heard from other people I posted this on my story on Instagram when it got delivered but I got a lot of DMS about this product people had said that it gets extremely hot so to be careful about that a lot of people said to use it on dry hair as opposed to on wet hair which is a little bit weird because it is a blow drying product as y'all can see my hair is pretty dry I showered this morning so it's still actually wet all under here and everything is still wet it's just these two pieces that are dry and I am going to wet them down a bit yeah let's go ahead and jump in I'm ready to see if this works will this reach that is the question okay so I've already prepped my hair as soon as I got out of the shower this morning I went in with my three Holy Grail hair products so I used the United seven seconds detangler it's a leave-in conditioner sandy tangler and one then I went in with the olaplex number six bond smoother this is just a leave-in styling cream it also reduces frizz nourishes and protects and I also went in with a little bit of the unite UI it's an argan oil am I always going with those products after I shower regardless of whether I am leaving my hair curly or if I'm going to heat style it but I have not gone in with this yet this is my favorite he protected it is the soap elements mega silk olive heat protection spray before we do that I'm going to damp my hair really quick with just a spray bottle with water in it but again I don't want to dampen it too much and then we will go in with the heat protectant now that my hair is nice and protected I'm just going to section it off the same way hmm I'm just gonna section my hair the same way I would section it when I Flatiron it or curl it with a flat iron I usually go right above the ears and then we will just put this in a bun on top of my head okay so let's see okay so I think my plan of attack I'm gonna use the cool setting first and then once that piece of hair that I'm doing is mostly dry then I will move it to the high heat and then smooth it out if that makes sense and I'm just gonna watch Netflix while I do this before I get started I'm just gonna put this disclaimer out there I am in no way shape or form a hair professional I have always loved doing hair myself on myself like I'm good at doing hair but I am NOT a professional so I just wanted to put that out there if you see me doing something wrong or your professional hairstylist just this is just what I am doing I am NOT a professional okay let's get started [Music] he brings me flowers on a Tuesday it gives me good [Music] [Music] okay hear my thoughts after just the first piece I'm not gonna judge it solely on the bottom piece because I feel like my bottom piece of hair is the easiest it's just like straighter and kind of less frizzy already so I definitely want to see how it works with like the top of my hair that's where the Realty is when it's on the cool setting I don't mind holding it in place because it's not heat then I went in with the hot setting on high and it does get really hot so definitely definitely usually he protected when it's on the hot setting you obviously don't want to hold it in one place for too long I also think that was fairly quick again this underneath piece does usually dry fast for me so we'll have to see how it works like in the bulk of my hair because my hair takes so long to dry but it is really smooth and not frizzy so I'm impressed so far but let's keep going [Music] [Applause] [Music] tell me do you really need me I'm painting pictures no you cannot [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] like he can know me better [Music] okay so after finishing the bottom half of my hair this thing is bombs again I do want to see how it works to the top half but I will say it did take longer to dry once I got to like the bulkier parts of my hair like in this area in the back I am drying it on the cool setting so just in general it's gonna take a little bit longer to dry but I don't want to cause any heat damage to my hair because the hot setting does get really really hot so I want to use that setting the least amount possible and pretty sure I'm gonna have to use that hot setting a little bit more aggressively on the top half but we will see the only thing I could think of like while I was doing it I was thinking this works well because my hair is so long but as big and bulky as this is if you were someone with short hair I don't know how well this would work for you but I can't say because I don't know but let's continue doing the rest of the hair and then we will reconvene when we're all done [Music] my phone's about to die my camera is about to die everything's about to die but since my camera is about to die I'm just going to finish the majority of this off-camera and then when we get to the finishing parts we will come back okay finish most of my hair all I have is this little bit left I hope the lighting didn't change too much I was just using natural light but now it's about to piss rain outside so now the sky is all super dark and the lighting is all different now so hopefully you guys can still see what I'm doing because it's kind of dark but yeah we're just gonna finish this last part really quick and then we'll talk about the drier [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay so I am all done blow-drying my hair and honestly I think it turned out really good there are some pros and cons so let's just get into that I would say the only cons were that my arms did get really tired the longer that I was using it especially doing the back part when I was going overhead as opposed to to the side this isn't the lightest product and then the only other con is really that just like I predicted it didn't smooth the top portion of my hair as much as it did the longer pieces with the longer pieces you do get the tension more so it's really smoothed it out so if you have short hair all over and your hair is really frizzy or big or curly or wavy I don't know how well this would work I don't know if they have like different sizes of this I only saw the one but it would be really nice if they either have or come out with a smaller one for people with short hair it does look really smooth but if you can see I'm just being super picky because I am picky about when my hair looks frizzy this side turned out pretty good I don't know why that is I am right-handed so when I was doing this side I was able to maybe that's why cuz on this side I was really able to pull it out but using my right hand on my right side it was more so just like you know like this so that could be why but it is smoother on this side but other than those two things I do think it works really well it did get my frizzy hair pretty smooth umm I did go in with more of the oil when I was done because that's what I do anytime I heat styling my hair my hair feels smoother then when I just go from air dried hair to a flatiron it feels really smooth and healthy it did take about 45 minutes to an hour to do it and I will that is a lot longer than it takes me to flat iron my hair but overall it does shorten your blow-dry and styling time because if I were to blow-dry my hair and then Flatiron it or curl or whatever it would take me extremely long that's why I never blow-dry my hair so the fact that it blow-dried and smooth and styled my hair all in like 45 minutes to an hour to me that's a win it's not a very expensive product so that's another thing but yeah I got this hoping that it would replace me flat ironing my hair and I can't say for sure if that's the case but I do feel like this is a lot less damaging then flat ironing my hair all the time overall I really really like this product I would say ten out of ten recommend even if you don't use it on a daily basis I do think this will definitely come in handy because I'll tell you right now I cannot get this kind of blow out with a round brush and a blow dryer on my own it is not as easy as using this so comment down below if you have this product or tried it and what you think about it again don't forget to subscribe to my channel give this video a thumbs up follow your girl on Instagram and I will see you guys in the next video bye come on with apologies holding back I got history
