#RESET, Bishop Joseph W. Walker, III

and Isaiah chapter 1 verse 18 come now let us reason together say as the Lord though your sins are like scarlet they shall be as white as snow though they are red like crimson they shall be as war if you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land but if you refuse and rebel you shall be devoured by the sword the mountain of the Lord has spoken tell somebody whatever it takes you may be seated in the presence of the Lord today all of us in this place at one time or another has had an urgent our spirit that it was time to get things together it doesn't matter what your current state of affairs looks like what your reality may be everybody comes to that place when you have a sense that it's time to turn a new leaf get on the right foot and start doing what God has called you to do it's doing times like this when you begin to make small adjustments while you begin to realize that if you're going to get back to that place remember that place where you were when you were so passionate about God that place that was so pure and you read God's Word voluntarily all night long that place where no one had to beg you to praise God nobody had to prompt you to worship God it was so sincere that place before to her before the pain that place when it was just you and God People of God I believe today that somebody came at the day in your desire is to really be back in that place the will of God the reality is is that when you begin to reflect over your life and what disobedience has cost you you start making statements like whatever it takes when you begin to look at the amazing things that God has for you future and you begin to look at how the devil tried to rob you of it today you declare whatever it takes I'm preaching the day this message because there is something in the spiritual atmosphere the climate is shifting God is about to do something awesome in this place that you're not here by accident I'm only really picking up what's already been in your spirit all week long that mean if you've already sense a shift you've already sense that God was about to take you into a whole nother realm but it really comes with you making a declaration that lower today I'm available for reset people of God you have to be you have to be real with God today and understand that God is quite aware of your situation he's aware of what you've been caught up in but today you have to declare the Lord I'm done I'm gonna do real some things in when I was a child I thought as a child I understood as a child but when I became a man I put away childish things I've got to get this right right now I remember I remember very vividly trying one time to communicate on my device my phone and I remember having some complications my phone began to act up unaware of the advanced in technology I frantically tried to steal down the number and frustrated trying to check emails but frustrated fussing at people who were looking at me with the answer saying what's wrong what's going on and they said to me Bishop you've got to reset it it didn't make sense to me I'm like why do I have to reset what is a reset there never shall forget someone taking my phone and said bishop and I look at what's wrong with your phone you don't need a salt reset you need a hard reset soft reset is when we can just basically hit it and make it just start all over but a hard reset means we might have to empty out some stuff you may have to shut it down so that when it comes back again it has more capacity you've got the bugs out the virus is out some better today God says you're not in need of a soft reset you've already tried that that didn't work God sent you here today because he's about to shut some things down in your life that gets a mess out of your life to create greater capacity so you can reach new heights somebody just shout reset reset prophet the prophet Isaiah gives a powerful word this passage of Scripture is often referred to as the first published sermon of Isaiah it was believed particularly by theologians like John Calvin who believed that the custom of the prophets was to put their sermon on the post of the door of the temple that those who would enter in by coming in and my hear what God was saying to them firsthand here in this particular sermon in Chapter 1 you can only imagine Isiah giving five charges five charges against Israel against the people of God the first charge was literally that they did not represent the Jewish church and the nation as they should they were being hypocritical the second charge was that there they had a spirit of ingratitude God had done too much for them but they walked around in narcissism walked around acting as though they had done it themselves charge number three was of their nature being so corruptible that God could not bring reform into the nation remember God desired reform to come only if people that turn from their wickedness the fourth charge was universal corruption everywhere you looked around all of their systems and inner workings were corrupt charge number five against them was their rulers were so perverse and when we get to verse 18 we discover that here God gives an olive branch God reaches out and gives an earnest call for repentance and Reformation God literally is setting before their death death if you will not obey but life if you do it is Deuteronomy chapter 30 and verse 19 that I call heaven and earth as a witness against you that I've set before you life and death blessings and cursings therefore choose life that you and your descendants may live people of God you've come here today because God is about to reset some things in your life to reset some things in your family just reset some things in your friendship to reset some things in your career and you're gonna get this word today you might have come in here one way but you're gonna leave here today with a reset look at somebody tell them get ready for the reset there is a call of conviction it is here in the text because the first thing that the Bible declares to us is that God reaches out and God says let us reason together in other words at this moment we call time that you recognize that God says through the Prophet come now this is not a call for tomorrow not a call for six months down the road but it is a call for immediate reaction immediate response that there comes a point in all of our lives that we have to understand that God says that I am fed up that's enough I've had enough of your perverse proclivities I have had enough of your dirty dealings I've had enough of your sanctimonious sacrifices God now calls us on the carpet and God says I've got to deal with you and I've got to deal with you in a real manner just like we want God to bless us God said I need you to come real before me People of God God is a God of timing God is a God who operates in Cairo's not Chronos he does not operate in our time but he operates in his time he knows exactly where to meet us he knew exactly what you had to go through in order to get to this service so he could have your undivided attention just when God calls us out that's when our convictions rise up and we already know that God says it's time for somebody right now you know what I'm talking about it's time there was always a moment on each of us that we come to you we'll stay in that messed up situation until you realize it's time you will stay on the streets doing your dirt until you realize it's time there is no age there is no time on the clock that I'm talking about referencing time I'm talking about a Kairos moment a spiritual moment but you recognize that something in your spirit in saying I'm fed up something in your spirit is saying I need a change in my life and somebody right now you know it's time somebody shout it's time you've been knowing this for a while but God is sending you a word today to tell you I heard you and I want you to know if it's time let me prove it to you because if it's time it means you are tired because God says I am tired I'm tired of seeing you in a position of being sick and tired due to your own sin and corruption he is cursing our audience with you one on one audience in order for you to resolve your own corrupt corrupt and chaotic situation in verse 18 let us reason together in other words let us debate together let us argue this out it's gotta be a crucial conversation that takes place in order for change to really happen in our lives because God says there is a fundamental difference between you feeling bad about a situation and truly being convicted about a situation a lot of people feel bad about something but they're not convicted about it you feel bad but you get pulled over but you say officer I'm so sorry I didn't mean the speed I feel so sorry I feel bad about speeding like that and then the officer gives you a bar says listen slow down and I don't get you a ticket this time you feel bad about it but it didn't change your behavior because you sped off and up the road you found yourself speeding again and God says I don't need you just to feel sorry for your behavior I need to know you truly are convicted of your behavior it's when you get weary of doing it that you're really surrender a lot of things we call deliverance as really people just getting tired I wish I had some real witnesses here times I mean I know sometimes we say oh I've been delivered now the truth is you just got tired and then only been tired tired of being played tired of a dysfunctional relationship tired of trifling friends tired of being up all night long tired of the hangover tired of playing games anybody here just hip up in flat-out tired see God cannot get your attention if you're not tired if you still doing what you're doing and caught up in it God says I can't work with you I could only work with folk who really get to the place where you are tired preach it Bishop let me prove there's a young boy who was trying to show off he's trying to show off at the beach he's son show off the young girls and he must act like he can really surf and he gets his surfboard and goes out trying to show off to the young girls and the reality of the fact is he cannot swim but now he gets on the surfboard in the shallow area not realizing that the waves are going to come so when the way he's beginning to come now watch what begins to happen the boy gets out there on the surf and guess what happens the waves begin to overtake him now he finds himself scrambling for life he's scrambling for life trying to think about I can't swim he said I can't swim lifeguard sitting high up looking at him calm cool and collected just looking at him looking at it and you would think the lifeguard removed quickly but the lifeguard is just looking at him like you looking at me and all of a sudden he swam and he goes under he comes back up yeah I can't swim he's wrestling and struggling like God takes off his shades really slowly and just looks at him he begins yeah somebody please help like God just goes out to the edge of the beach and just looks at it now he goes under little uncle he found it makes his way up and lifeguard eventually throws out the anchor throws that out told me finally pulls him on in the young boy once he finally gets the water out of his lungs out of his mouth and all the see me and he's mad into the lifeguard like I dare you you almost let me drown how could you let something like this happen to me how could you what kind of like God are you my life go I said a pretty good what he said what do you mean by that is as well if I had come out there while you were still struggling you would have taken me under with you so I had to wait until you got tired of struggling I'm trying to help somebody right now because God says I'm gonna let you keep on struggling and I'm gonna sit right here until you say Lord I'm tired I resign I'm done and it's at that point that God will step in and God will rescue you [Music] at that point when you get tired that's when you experience a change in your circumstances God God God has the power and capacity amazing thing about God is that God can change you regardless of your human condition I don't care what you've been caught up in I'm here to tell you that God has the power to change you God is aware of your circumstance he's aware of your sin nature if somebody needs to hear this today never let the enemy convince you you have to stay the same way you are God is able to change circumstances what the text says is that God is cognizant he's aware of your transgression their sins were like scarlet the sin of disobedience had stained them the enemy wants you to be defined by your transgression he wants people to look at you and remember what you did the devil won't people to look at you and always be reminded of what you used to be but let's just be honest today all of us in this place have sin in our life seeing in our past seeing in our present and some stuff we ain't even done yet that we probably will do if it was not for the grace of God none of us would be here today I tell people all the time if you find the perfect Church don't join it because you gonna mess it up God has no perfect churches because he has no perfect people but when we come before God it should lead to conviction and conviction should lead to change in our circumstances there's a consequence tied to conviction if we are convicted of a crime there is a penalty that is equitable to the type of crime committed the system of the kingdom is not like the system of the world penalty exist but restitution and restoration is the primary goal that's why we call people who are so self-righteous legalistic because what you do the moment somebody makes a mistake you want to give them a life sentence from the church I'm a priestess and a half but you have forgotten that you had been pardoned I wish I had somebody that could be honest and know that you know you've been pardoned you know if justice had come down on you like it was supposed to you wouldn't be here today but he fees in Chapter two and four says God is rich in mercy this great love toward us in other words God alters the system to provide a plan that offers to expunge the record of those who have been convicted and to cleanse us once and for all that's why the Bible says though your sins be like scarlet they shall be white as snow though they be red like crimson they shall be as wool though your record is messed up God takes a big heavenly eraser and God just wipes it away and Isaiah 43 maybe this will make sense to you in verse 25 God says I even I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake and I will not remember your sins why are you getting upset because people remember your sin and God forgot it look at somebody and say stop bringing up stuff God has forgotten and Isaiah 44 and 22 I have blotted out like a thick cloud your transgression like a cloud your sins return to me for I have redeemed you you wonder why some of us shout like we shout why some of us give God glory like we do because we have been redeemed and the Bible said let the redeemed at the Lord if God ain't never redeem you you sit there don't say nothing but somebody know God will deem you from the hand of the enemy you ought to say something when you have transgression that God deals with it manifest into transformation we are wash clean of our transgressions and we experience transformation our transformation is not limited to some cosmetic external look that's what people want you to believe that you can just clean yourself up on the inside but that anywhere God is looking for people of God God wants to clean you up from the inside so that your internal nature becomes counterculture that you can walk around people who used to know you last week but they look at you and say what happened to you you change you act in brand-new thank you I am acting brand new because any man that's in Christ is a new creation and old things have passed away so I don't walk like I used to walk I don't do what I used to do one of the worst things that could ever happen is that be in a relationship with somebody who don't know you've already moved I miss somebody miss your shout one of the worst thing that could ever happen is to have a relationship with somebody that still talking to you like it was yesterday when you went tomorrow look at somebody tell them I'm in a brand new season tell them that stuff don't excite me no more that stuff don't get no movement no more I'm in a whole new place God says your your your trends your transformation your transformation shall be like war that he can take away okay somebody will get this he can take away your current reality and transform it by taking every blemish the enemy wanted to keep in your life okay he can literally this is for about three people on your pew he can literally change you to the degree that there is no evidence of what you used to be [Applause] that this transformation means that God can alter what the enemy tried to permanently put in your life the devil had a plan for your life but God alternate the devil wanted you to live in guilt and shame but God wants you to live in peace and grace and joy the devil wants you to be sick and broke but God altered it now you will and prosper some people doubt the transforming power of God but let me help you understand how God can transform they won't tell you because you might move seeds but you are sitting around some people a few years ago who smokes so much we who did so much dirt who would cut you at the sign of trouble who would do stuff that you can even imagine but they have been here today and don't even look like the same person because there is no evidence of what they used to be I wish I had somebody that could take about 30 seconds and just praise God that he took away the evidence you don't know like I know what the Lord has done [Music] [Applause] [Music] now-now-now limitless yes sir there are there are Russia's said I said there are consequences to your choices there are consequences to your choices every action has a consequence and the Word of God declares if you refuse this instruction you will be divided devoured by the sword he tells them basically if you disobey the enemy will come in and get victory by destroying you God says if you hear this word that's being very clearly explained to you you walk out of here and do what you want to do don't blame him [Applause] but if you obey you shall eat it is verse 19 the good of the lane verse 19 says you will eat the good of the land now the reason why that may not ring a bell to you right now because I have to have the tiny little teaching so I'm gonna I'm gonna rent it out the context of the Prophet Isaiah's world is that dropped in an agricultural society whereby the people lived by the ground everything in their entire existence was agricultural their commerce their food it was traded in agriculture the ground consequently that's why whatever a famine would come it would be the worst thing ever that could ever happen if God with a holdback the rare but when they would pray they would pray for the farmer rain and the latter rain because they would put seed in the ground and when they put seed in the ground they needed the former rain to come and to know to the seed but then the latter rain would come to bring the harvest they would always believe that and it would be so that harvest would come Genesis 8 22 says and see time and harvest it remains a summer winter it was a law that if you put seed in the ground all you got to do is wait because harvest is going to come you can't get harvest if you don't have see so when they put seed in the ground something would come up but the problem with what they were seeing is that then was see the good stuff they got something but in what the good stuff it's like going to the grocery store and you need tomatoes and you say Oh Lord these Tomatoes aren't that good the tomatoes aren't good today I guess we don't guess I get this when I guess I'll get that one you because seed the good ones have been already taken you need tomatoes so you ain't gonna leave without Tomatoes you just gotta get what's left you need strawberries alone Lord the strawberries look bad today I guess I'll take this one oh god it's not that good strawberries weren't there you just had to settle for what was lucky twice watch me and watch the sisters on this there's a shoe sale all the shoes on the rack of a sale and you finally get through traffic and get there by the time you get there all the good shoes so you're like oh well I guess I'll try these on somebody it's not blessing you knowing you've been disobedient and God says if I bless you and you know you ain't done right how much will I do for you if you reset and get it right I come to tell somebody God says he's about to bump you in the line now God's about to give you the price choice God's about to give you the stuff that's called the good stuff look at somebody tell them I'm about to do some good stuff tell them I'm tired of leftovers I'm tired of stuff that's hanging out I want everything that God has for my life that's why I come to speak it over somebody's life today my God said you gotta get to a place when you're sick and tired of being sick and tired reset God said get to a place where you're tired of playing games reset get to a place where you gotta delete those numbers out of your phone and say we said get to a place where you say Lord I'm Tyler getting high as a kite I'm tired of get drunk that's a stop truck in a ditch shop reset jump out of the day God says he's about ready to turn your life around we're to distil down your row until somebody reset reset reset I've come to prophesy over this place today that God is getting ready to turn your life around that if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves seek my face and pray and turn from their wicked ways up God said be and I wore heal the land there is deliverance in this house today God is getting ready to reset somebody's life and some matter today you need your marriage we said you need your mind reset you need your family reset I've come to tell you today that God says if you're walnut up it's in the house and somebody right now I'm not talking about your position I'm not talking about your title but I don't care what you will call them here I don't care what the devil said you will never going to be God said that you can get to this altar he's getting ready to hit the reset button I'm getting them to lay my hands on you and I'm flattered and anointed to reset everybody in this house today some batter the day the devil thought he had the victory but the devil is a liar God is about to leash [Music] somebody open up your mouth and say reset come on in this house today I feel God about to move in this place the devil is a liar every word of God is true God is about to turn it around God is about to bring healing in this bracer he's about to burst for you get in the house have fun you got a cup guards about a work of miracle he's about to give breakthrough in this house of God because children of God season of your life you gotta go now somebody coldest name society coldest name Celine coldest named Jesus there is power in the name of Jesus powerful name of Jesus [Music] [Music] in the name of Jesus hardly said hard we said make us the man that we're supposed to be make us the woman we're supposed to be in the name of Jesus in the name of Jesus race in the name of Jesus we take your children in the name of Jesus mandis somebody who doesn't have to wait to the fountain this one but somebody that can open up your mouth and some better that can sound right the victory I've got the covering that's it my brother right now I want you to get your stuff and I want you to get quickly to this altar because today is your day that's it my brother come on reset we said come on come on that God it's about to reset you that when you leave here there will be no evidence of what you used to be and I just don't want you to miss this moment worried about what people think about you but to put yourself in the position that God can do what he wants to do in your life but you gotta stop struggling now you gotta say Lord okay I surrender I'm tired you can stay there on and on but I can move right on and we'll be just fine but I believe that you were here today you know who I'm talking to and it may look like a long walk and he said why is he still talking because the Spirit of God won't let you leave here without being reset so if you had 60 seconds for your light to go in a whole new direction want to stay in the place where you were what would you do those 60 seconds start right now Who am I talking to who am I talking to that that enemy is trying to keep you in that place but you know you got a word from God today and God said we said come on come on come on that's it come on Who am I talking to come on come on that said I see you come on come on come on come on come on that's it that's it that's it that's it come on chirps I wish you what thank God as they come I wish you would thank God as they come on that's it daughter that's it daughter and it won't be in the evidence [Applause] hallelujah [Music] [Applause] that's it that's it that's it come on come on Church will you give God glory as they're coming would you give glory as they're coming [Music] [Applause] oh yeah we'll be no evidence won't be no evidence daughter will be no evidence I won't be no apparent reason but I want to show you what we set looks like I want to show you that when people who really know the power of God sees you I want you to stand and I want you just to turn around and look at those I want you to watch how they respond when they see you [Applause] because we see a change we see God reset come on help you celebrate these lives that they celebrate [Music] we celebrate [Music] listen [Music] [Applause] listen I want each one of you right now I want you to go to your left and to my right you want to get some information from you and pray with you and follow up with you it's important that you stay on this journey come on bounce out help me thank God for all of these come on just go this way go this way come on church come on church come on church come on church come on come on don't don't stop praising gone you don't believe in the power of God to change your life you just look at this altar remember your day remember what God did in your life he's still moving right now god bless you god bless you I mean all day long this is what God did it every service hallelujah
