Funny how they completely missed Alonso recovering the gap at night for more than 2 hours. You'd think the gap between P1 and P2 overall would be constanly monitored.

Watch the first hour then you can pretty much skip to the 23rd hour.

Just curious is anyone knows of a replay of the race that doesn’t have commentary?

The slow zones seemed a bit overkill to me. Was I imagining things when it clean up was taking so long? (aside from the gravel)

Can I pay for streaming next year or do I need to wait a month to watch a race?

I have Velocity, but I only watch on streams.

[Music] [Music] good afternoon and welcome to France for the 86th running of the LeMond 24-hours the Circuit de la Sarthe host once more to the biggest race on earth for classes with 60 cars and 180 drivers are about to battle over the world's most evocative demanding but rewarding circuits that motor racing has ever had for many this is the focus of an entire year but for some it's the focus of their entire motor racing life to get even an entry here is something to get to drive on the hallowed tarmac is reserved for a select few but to be on the podium is what so many strive for in the world of Motorsports to win the LeMond 24 hours is the biggest thing a racing driver can do Toyota are the favourites this year but there's so many more lmp1 cars in 2018 now the race is on button Alonzo Montoya Maldonado are the new headline drivers here at LeMond in 2018 Montoya has already won the Indy 500 and the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix can he make it the Triple Crown in his lmp2 car unlikely but with this race you just never know because that is what Lamont is all about this is the trophy that they are all gunning to take home and that's the 2017 trophy being brought up to the grid the trophy that Timo Bernhard Brendon Hartley in Alabama won last year with Porsche this is the FIA World Endurance Championship the super season the spa 24 hours has already taken place here we are at Lomond then we go to Silverstone in August to Japan and then to China next year there's a thousand mile race in Sebring in America then back to spa finishing up here at the 24 Hours of LeMans in 12 months time therefore it is that season straddling the two years here we have a superstar Rafa Nadal winner of the French Open tennis just last week the number one in the world 17 Grand Slam titles to his name the best ever clay player ever in tennis here we are on the grids' the cars are all lined up what a view that we have got Toby Moody Julian Porter and Curran Chandhok karoon you are in this race last year you were there on the grid just 12 months ago what are these guys thinking right now well you're just so keyed in actually I like this part when all the crowds cuz 20 minutes ago you had thousands of people on the bridge it was absolutely rammed but now they've all gone it's just you your immediate crew standing there in a line the trophy comes passed to you you look to your right you see the enormous grandstands and what we know here in France that are very patriotic crowd in a few moments were here like Marseille and and the action the whole atmosphere comes alive when the grandstand starts sinking in as well it is it is a very special feeling and I think certainly for the drivers who are going to be starting the race their mind is already on that first day their mind is already on what's the track temperature like how we got to get the tyres to last you know do we do two stairs three - there - all your that the other two guys well they're kind of thinking about have I had lunch yet do I need a massage have I had enough hydration there yet to get to that point Julian Porter also with us in the commentary box three of us here out of a team of eight that we've got bringing you the action here in 2018 there's the trophy being brought up to the front of the great Julian what a race we had last year can that drama been beaten I'm not sure whether we wanted to be beaten I'm not doing I mean it was just incredible but as you said LeMond it's the a year's work and those people who didn't have a successful June last year they turn around and say right 365 days time we've got to sort this out and it is a whole accumulation of a massive amount of work as the trophy gets lifted out of the back and yeah that's what it's all about but what's really nice actually at lamorne that's very unique on the grid is they play the national anthem of every single driver and every driver feels a bit special you know that hey they're playing this for me and we have a Malaysian team on a good first time Jean Todd of course the president of the FIA who masterminded the Persian victories here Alamo in the early 90s Jacky Ickx on the right hand side Lamar Legend of course with Porsche so yep the bigwigs are here and roughing it down he's I'm sure he's cheering his countrymen on his knee Fernando Alonso yes absolutely yes will he be the second Spanish winner of this race now let's go through the four classes this is the GTE AM category a professional driver mixed in with some amateur drivers gentlemen drivers call them what you will this is that was the 54 spirit of race a of course a Ferrari and then we've got the first of our Dempsey proton racing Porsches the number 77 car Matt Campbell Christian Reed and Julian and Lauer that's the black gray and baby blue coloured Porsche and of course in the am category now Julian the Porsche 911 RSR that was new in the beat in the top class last year has now cascaded down to the AM category yeah and it's been very very quick it really has and there's the golf car they were second quickest in qualifying so there's a big Butler and Porsche seem to have the upper hand in that category it's a 24-hour race but realistically it's a 24-hour sprint now it has totally changed so we now await to see the pole position car in the GTE AM category as the French patriotic fans look on and what a view those guys have got the start/finish line here is the number 88 the Dempsey proton 911 Porsche the RS are it is being taken to that pole position by the Porsche junior driver Matteo Karoli coloured alka BC and Giorgio Roda big pride for Patrick Dempsey yes mr. Hollywood himself who drove in this race a couple of years ago mr. ER and the himself an established racing driver as an amateur having won his class backer to Fuji as part of the World Endurance Championship a couple of years ago yeah it uh you get all sorts here don't you you get drivers from all parts of the world and as we hear the French national anthem [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] La Marseillaise a national anthem to stir the soul of the fans here as we await the French army to arrive with the flag that will be waved to start this race off they're going to be arriving in the nh90 Cayman a big helicopter when it arrives in a couple of minutes time in fact it's hoping over the top of the horizon over the ferris wheel as we speak and it is Dominique Marceau who is the captain the pilot of this helicopter it's already been through town a couple of days ago and my goodness me it doesn't have rattle the windows out when it comes through the a lot the lavash or leisure la baie de terre as the correct nomenclature for the for the guys in this helicopter we can see them just about to land on our commentary position our TV is shaking such is the downwash from these guys look at that shots of the caiman in the foreground and the 60 cars and 180 drivers in the background the commandos the infantry guys now come down the ropes and soon they will be handing the starters flag to none other than jacky ickx our six times out right LeMond victor here in the Circuit de la Sarthe he won it in 69 in a Ford gt40 in 75 in a Gulf Mirage and then his string of four victories with Porsche in 76 77 81 and then 1982 with the Porsche 9/5 it always been a tradition for the stats of the Lamont 24 hours for these guys to bring the flag down and quite a show it is that is quite some delivery that that guy has done they make sure that the flagpole is all present and correct and everybody involved in this race big responsibility to get things absolutely spot-on and they have done it just to the second water live shot over the grid I've seen some shots in motorsport that's quite something isn't it really is it I think all the drivers and mechanics and the tea person on the grid appreciated that but it is impressive isn't it but here we go here's the flag we are 20 minutes understand absolutely it's gonna be the start at 3 o'clock here local time in France good morning good afternoon good evening wherever you are around the globe around the planet following our coverage throughout practice qualifying the warm-up this morning and now the race itself the 86th running of the LeMond 24-hours Rafa Nadal on the grid Michael Fassbender he's had a quick lap just been given to him by former winner of this race Alex verts in one of the the special prototypes as the flag is handed to Rafa natal tennis legend in amongst motor racing legends here at LeMond it looks slightly it is quite something you sometimes wondered Karen you know he could take the pressure of the of the Roland Garros or Wimbledon or wherever but this is yeah this is something else I suppose he can soak it all in the the theatre and the drama of a moment rather than focusing on what he has to do when there's a racket in his hand exactly this is a this is a fun day out for him it's a huge privilege and I think around face he's very respectful of world sport he's very respectful of of what big sporting events and what what other great sportsmen are out there on the planet you know I know he follows the Spanish MotoGP riders he's a big follower Fernando Alonso and you know he eat does follow his motor sport now that let's get into the GTE Pro category got a brand new car for Aston Martin the new Vantage with the lime green color scheme it had a big crown of the cars had a big crash here in the test session a couple of weeks ago but they've completely rebuilt the car and it is all sorted and they already fought their start six different manufacturers in GTE Pro and the Aston Martin the first one that we had a glimpse of their Alex Lynne Maxime Mata and Johnny Adam they're in one car mark of Sorenson Niki team and Darren Turner in the other car meanwhile here is the first glimpse Julian of the brand new m80 it's only done one race that was at spar at the beginning of the season it's their first race with the car here at LeMond it is a huge heritage for BMW they've come into it and they've got themselves in a real massive battle of enabling with the 81 and their 82 cars and yep they struggled a little bit in qualifying and then they got a little bit quicker and hopefully they will be a bit more on the pace yeah just looking there guys the mechanics are wheeling out the times over and this is what is unique about LaVon is unlike any other race your city the cars and the teams are sitting on the grid for an hour and a half there there but the actual race tires you could see them being wheeled out fritz bernhard and young lamas walking by and under a lot are getting in he is gonna start the race in that rebellion you know now you get to the the action racing part the focus comes from away from the pomp and show on to let's get the right tires on let's get the engine temperatures up let's get the gearbox temperatures up let's get all of it in the right window at the star you can see the drivers putting their helmets on as well and getting into their cars quick glimpse a moment ago of the reigning champions with the number 51 Ferrari PA Guidi James colada with Daniel Sarah now at the helm of the Ferrari 488 GTB we then saw a quick glimpse of Andy Priaulx getting in the car and the first glimpse of the pink pig the retro color scheme reflecting what Porsche did in 1971 with the Porsche 917 had extra wide bodywork on it for aerodynamic purposes and one of the engineers said doesn't look that good in fact it looks like a pig so somebody said well why don't we make it look like a pig with the marks of the butcher's cuts on each corner they've also got the ruffman's retro livery similar to the Rothman's Porsche that Jacky Ickx used here in the early 80s Derrick Bell Han sook etc and that qualified on pole position and a dominating pole position as well with Jimmy Bruni stunning time I was gonna say that cars going anything but like a pig it is going unbelievably quickly the Porsches have been the benchmark all week long really all through practice and qualifying it's gone extremely well but people like Ford and and Aston and Ferrari they feel more confident in the race they feel that Jimmy Bruni did an outstanding job and got all the track conditions absolutely spot-on for the qualifying lap but they think in the race they they should be able to put up more of a fight one of you it is quite something isn't it and as I said a moment ago we've been we've been lucky we've seen a bit of motorsport but this is a special day this is a special weekend this is a special hour now than in two lmp2 the TDS racing number 28 is just qualified behind the number 26 that's is the g-drive car they've all got the 4.2 Gibson v8 engine bulletproof engine as you know Curran or a coach a C's leash a C's Dallara chassis is no Riley here this weekend so the three different chassΓ©s in the lmp2 category and a lot of focus on this g-drive car they may have won the championship back in 2015 but you want to win LeMond and that's what those guys are gunning for yeah they did you know they had a tough race last year and unfortunately loose and all that an accident quite early on that put them out so I think they they're looking for a little bit of redemption John Eric Byrne is in that car as well very very good quick driver and these guys at ragged speed they've got a good lineup as world they have Gonzales Maldonado and berth on this that is Pastor Maldonado Victor of the last Williams Formula One victory back in Barcelona a couple of years ago but this is the car on pole position in lmp2 it is the Idec sport car 10th overall on the grid with Lafargue satin and Rojas twenty four eight four and a twenty four eight eight that is how close lmp2 is you cannot make a mistake otherwise you're losing not one position but two or three yeah Peter has been a great class I mean I've enjoyed racing it at the last few years it is so so competitive and once again we've got a quality field here there is the first of our glimpses at the Manor the Ginetta the lmp1 cars in the non-hybrid lmp1 category that's is Alex Brundle at the helm his father Martin here this weekend he raced in the Aston Martin race earlier today the 1990 winner with the silt cut Jaguar great to see him here at this racetrack and Alex Brundle gets the history he gets what it's all about his first glimpse of the by collars car we've got in there Ollie Webb Dominic cry hammer and Tom Dillman they had some of their lap times taken away after qualifying but they're all sorted for today and let's hope they have a good run in the early hours rather than their very bad luck that befell them 12 months ago nothing to do with them they're in the wrong place at the wrong time at about the fourth corner and they had to come in time ticking away Julian yeah clear the grid what's left now then crew in it they've been given it Jenson buttons car here obviously a big weekend for him in the SMP 11 car Petrov it's one of his teammates I tell you what button has just kind of just blended into everything all weekend there's no one's really known he's been around yeah he's gone sort of under the radio but he's really enjoying it I think you know I spoke to the guy from SMP and they they said he's come with a great attitude and he's really enjoying it been handling here in the dragon speed-pr Engineering car so they start the race in sixth place and you know it's a great little fight actually behind the Toyotas you got all those privateers though the two rebellions you got the two SMP cars your dragons feed by collars and they're all actually within a couple of seconds on day so reliability and lock cola that's going to come in a place here is the first of those rebellions the number three car they're driven by Thomas Rawat a specialist a Bowman SS and they in some ways they sort of seen as the second car in that lineup because of the driver lineup in the other cars got so much pedigree however they have shown great speed you know Thomas Laura was he's been a bit of a fine really in lmp2 he was very very strong last year and all through the the season not just at Lamar he was very strong and this the second SMP car here Stephane Sarrazin extremely experienced he's driven a little more so many times over the years evil star rafa nadal gives the command does start the engines and it's one minute to go to the formation lab Sebastien Buemi the WEC world champion in the pocket of that car there is Nicola snappier his former teammate in the lmp2 car well it doesn't get any more French than that does it the blue the white the Reds of the air force coming down the home straight over the leafy green countryside of the department do sod over the old circuit path white house that was what they used in the 50th or 60s then the seventies and shucks waterview here l'amour as we finish up looking at the guys on pole position the two Toyota's first and second let's mention that number one rebellion its third on the grid that is Andre Lotterer Neel Gianni a Bruno Senna yes I think they've got a good time and daring for a strong weekend might come we're here on board and we are on to our green fried Ram so this slap is all about getting the tires if the right temperature boy Amy they're looking at the dashboard they're gonna be making sure that they're in the right molds because they've got to use as little fuel as possible you know you want to make sure they're all the my college cars got a problem so by collars car hasn't fired arm that's not good news ladies curse well we did only curse them to me I hope not it hasn't filed out the marshal standing in front of it problem is they could see there's one of the mechanics still on the grid but everyone else is gone and if there's some sort of a software issue this is not good news the lights may be flashing off your head we can't really speculate what's happened but the rest of the packet away now use a little fuel as possible get the brakes up the temperature get the engine cool because what are you going to snow you haven't got air flowing through the cars quickly as you do in racing speeds and it's easy for the interceptors to go up well this should be fun well just to explain that 3:05 the race starts at 3:00 it's only fun because you're in the commentary box not in the car Curran come on come on yeah - can we believe it for that's good news so they have massive fire it up so it will start inside the back of the grid behind a GT car oh maybe not it's dr. Cain it stopped again they're trying to get it started they're trying to get it started and you're recycling you're resetting you're trying to get everything all forward but what can't I o to do at lemond they have never won LeMond they tried they've tried they've led with three minutes to go a couple of years ago but it wasn't to be when an intercooler pipe clip failed in literally a ten-dollar part but here we are in 2018 they are on pole position with the two cars the seven and eight then we've got the rebellion the first of the russian SMP racing a Dallara inadvertent comas row three sister rebellion and the dragon speed car and they call us a spot on the out on the warm-up lap holy moly I hope they're getting all of their bad luck out of the way at the beginning that is pure cold tire spin yeah bit of a bit of a panicking bit of cold tires and at least it looked like he kept it going but you're absolutely right Toby this is Toyota's race to lose isn't it there that they're the favorites they've got no other manufacturers compete against them they are you know the 20th attempt at winning this race and this is unquestionably their best shot unquestionably the best shot Porsche the nine one nine has won here for the last three years last year it was the eventual 2017 world champions that were victorious in this race Brendan Harley Earl Bamber and Timo Bernhard oh bombuh and Timo Bernhard are racing in this race in the sister car - this car here that is Kevin extra in the number 92 pink pig car I feel horrible saying pink pig but it gets the message across because that car is anything but a pig yeah that's it crude said that earlier on something else so as we've seen you said about Porsche not here at their p1 car also something else a bit geeky there's no number two I the number two car one here the last two years so posh old carried the number two on their car the last couple of years yep I'm looking to see if the number six Ginetta got going as well guys so that is good news for them they were some concerns they didn't do a lap in the war this morning there a little bit of concern about their reliability and I think it's it's going which is great news for the team there absolutely what's going through your drivers mind here Corinne yeah you've got this long laugh but everyone's weaving swarm in there you just make you sure even though you're checking all those systems you make sure you don't run into the back of anyone yeah I mean it's obviously you've got called dated and tires are called brakes and it's just about trying to build up as much temperature as possible and you know at this stage you're also very conscious of the fact that was so early even in what is going to be a very long 24 hours I know 24 hours can change in films of actual time but it feels like a very long 24 hours and I think the biggest thing to keep in mind at this stage the races aren't won on the first lap but they lost on the first lap so you've got to make sure you get a nice clean first stint make sure you know that first it is important because you get a reading of where the tires around especially we're getting a bit of rain it could be quite good fun so how much of a mad dash is it then for the first few calls because you see them all over the place and you say 24 hours to go is it shocking your positions already trying to just stay safe no you have to get done track position and you have to go with the train you know the slipstream they can make a big difference so if you go with the Train it makes a big difference to your pace on the first end and every stint counts so you know you've got to have good pace but you've that's the judgment and that's that balancing act for the driver that's why teams typically choose their most experienced driver to start the race just so they can play that balancing act of oh you know the risk versus reward at the early stages of its race but pointing up now towards Indianapolis and the the teams and the families in the garages all there's a lot of nerves around there the camp sites have now been emptied everybody on the side of the track on the grass bags and we're now into Arnage absolutely rammed out there they'll stop they go through the Porsche curves and then you start to see a two-by-two formation for the start of the race there is the Porsche garage with the retro color scheme the brick look the wooden looked to chests the Rothman's car the the the truffle hunter as they may say in German the pig has picks to hunt for truffles and we are onboard with Kevin estra in the the number 92 car they've had a retro look they've got a sort of a slate tile look with deliberate oil splashes all over the floor they've got a grandstand opposite that's all done in that brick look and a sense of history as always that Porsche have got very much to the fore here at Lamont where they have won nineteen times obviously not competing for overall honors this year but the GTE race is going to be fantastic it has been the last couple years decided on the final lap of course last year but here we go guys that all winding themselves up now lots of weaving around from Andre Lotterer he of course has won l'amour with Audi on multiple occasions so he knows what it takes to win around here the Jackie Chan DC racing car want winners of lmp2 and now through the Porsche curves you're just weaving around as much as possible but you're getting prepared to get information you can say watching latera they're waving zigzagging each that kind of like cheeky enough he might fancy a pop up these two at the first chicane my knee just to kind of lead the first lap or something yeah we'll see I mean that the biggest thing is also getting temperature on the brakes because when you get up the hill up to the Dunlop chicane when you hit the anchors for the first time at speed you've got to make sure that the brakes are there for you coming out of the Porsche curves there's been some safety modifications there over the winter as the hand gets towards the top of the clock here on the start line Rafa natal gonna be waving these guys off the world number one in tennis we'll see those two Toyota's come into view it is Sebastien Buemi in the number 8 car Mike Conway in the number 7 car heading the other 58 cars behind him as they just now can come into view of the final chicane the tension Rises who can win LeMond who can join the history books who can get their name in the history book for 2018 who can have the the joy and who is ultimately also gonna go through the heartbreak the pain that tears the emotion of something going wrong we ride on board with number 11 the SMP racing car that's Vitaly Petrov so we come through the flash chicane of this warming up lap the tension Rises there's nothing more that the teams could do it's all down to the drivers for this first four tea five-minute stint at the Circuit de la Sarthe the lamang 24 hours for 2018 the flag is waved and we are it is was damaged because he hit the back of the Toyota before he turned into the first corner the drama starts already already we come down the esses down into the five senses our opera is limping yes an absolute nightmare start for La Fleur and the rebellion he got tangled up he's such an experienced driver didn't expect him to make that sort of an error and probably the brackets be calm you know just an innocent victim but the lmp2 battle now they've gotta sleep straight from this rebellion is absolutely madness when you get down to the first you came so that is the leading p2 car that goes through it looks like the Idec car we are aboard with Andre Lotterer you can see the front wheel on the right-hand side he's got no downforce he's gonna be under steering meanwhile in GTE Pro it is the Porcia number 91 that leads here at the moment it's Jimmy Bruni ahead of his teammate Kevin Astra in the pink car then we've got the Ford then we've got the Ferrari alongside the Ford into the first chicane the Ford GT number 68 goes through cheekily goes through that his dark mother he's on to the second part of essentially the three part Mulsanne straight it was three miles five kilometers in length before they publish Akane's in one of the yellow cars without an Aston was in the Corvette ran on it was one of the am cars in fact meanwhile the leaders of this motor race are still the Toyotas it's Sebastien Buemi from Mike Conway going into the Mulsanne corner for the first time what did I say about loitering at the inside of the first even before they got to the braking zone and heat deep tagged in even before they got on the brakes and you can see they're still driving around without that front body bucket he's he's created a bit of an artificial chicane Anthony for all these lmp2 guys trying to get parts and obviously Andre down the street can you know he's gonna be faster than that but he's gotta be careful that dragon speed car who he drove into he's now making a recovery now then this is the number 11 going past Alex Brundle Brundle had a great star in a most adult in me he did he avoided it I was amazed everybody got through exactly I think he that you said that I would avoided it then the dragon speed cargo collected by Andre you know Alex chose the right path through all of that and this is a great battle this is for fourth position in the GTE Pro category the North American run Porsche with the black red and white nose is behind the Ford number 68 we're riding on board with the Porsche looking back at the Ferrari 488 the flat six howling its way up the gearbox towards the Porsche curves one two three four five six and there is the college car it started dead last and it's already in 38th position guys Conway's taking the lead Mike Conway has passed boy me somewhere out of our sight so the number seven car now leads which is uh be interested to see if that was a strategic move or if perhaps boy we made an error or something because it was in the final sector of the laughs which is not traditionally a place where we see over dinky coves done so down the hill they come that is the battle for third in there II Stephane Sarrazin Saracen in third position ahead of the number three rebellion Thomas the twenty-year-old an absolute star not just for the future but of today he won the road to LeMond series a couple of years ago he drove them on last year and an lmp2 car he Wow many people including me and he's got a great run they have in first second bit of a gap third and fourth Andre Lotterer got a lot of catching up now to do but if anybody can him his teammate Charlie or Bruno Senna can yeah absolutely but this is you know this is gonna set them back I know it's 24 hour race and there's lots to catch up but you're already on the back foot you know and that this first end as I said on the formation lap it kind of sets you up for the rest of the race and if you're already on the back foot trying to see they're not a hurry that's what surprised me I mean you know it's a nose Kearney's you've seen virtually all around the whole lap I think they wanted to check in the suspension damage you know you can see the nose they're going on on our shorts but I think they wanted to check if there's any suspension damage because you know the cars got to run safely more than anything else after this dragon speed out in front of lmp2 it is a big bit of drafting going on yeah polyp shutdown in the slipstream as ahead to the second chicane he's got like two vowel another highly experienced French lamorne star behind him Duval office near herewith bound in the past and he's now stepped I don't like using the freight step back into your libido because the cars are very very quick oh this could be further bad news guys feelin Andre because there's an investigation but the incident between him and the number 10 Dragon speed car which is understandably for the one for the incident turn one let's see what happened poor Andre already had it just had a bag of understeer you know the thing wouldn't turn potentially uh who knows but if you've got damage then maybe you need to back out of it no no darling let's go to a replay of this now watch here so look look at Andre Lotterer he's got a bit of a gap and now he's gun did now the Toyota on the right hand side gets you know we're on board with that number seven Toyota now he gets off the line while they both go and really we won't be looking at the left-hand side and now he starts - yeah we've kind of missed it as that we've missed the point where Andre potentially made contact with that Toyota you could see the point where he drives into the number 10 car away did but he did the most good let's have a look what they did break the nose cone came off to the side of the dragon speed I'm sure I'd be very surprised of a nose cone can push it that was in killer lmp1 kind of spin but would see we'll get another look in it let's hope yeah because we know what them to get pending of course it's a few raindrops we believe guys down kidding bad the zoner six at Ted Rouge it is getting dark out there isn't it Yayoi well we had a lot of drama a lot of action here to start this race off we're looking excuse me at the Battle of GTE Pro one two three four in your picture Louise Beckett is down in the pits sorry Louise we've hardly had a moment to get a word in but as Quran says maybe it's gonna start raining could you feel anything down there in the pits [Music] my way down [Music] that's Louise Beckett thank you so very much here we have the battle for ninth position in the 16 car battle for GTE Pro with 6 different manufacturers Roman Dumas is in that Porsche their former outright winner of this race and Sam bird in the Ferrari the Ferrari it's had some aerodynamic updates over the offseason there's the battle for third and fourth it is still Stephane Sarrazin you'd put your 50 quid on him for one lap around here wouldn't you current oh the same sevens going slowly so there's a white car going so lose right in the background of that longshot there was a white car going slowly but I don't know whether to it so we got Jasmine Jafar crawling along he's made it to the Porsche curves so he's not that far away from the pits but this certainly Louie's gonna you're gonna see you in about a minute's time I imagine he comes straight into the pits but Jasmine Jafar in that D Series it's it's such a shame it's a great story for them the first ever Malaysian old Malaysian team at L'Amour and unfortunately it's not started off in the best way we didn't see there's any contact or any incidents he just seems to be going slowly at the moment isn't it Louise also you say that there's some bodywork coming out for one of the dragon speed cars can you confirm that number getting a great wing prepped and ready in any sort of rush but they're getting it ready okay thank you for that we are onboard with the leader of the Livan 24 hours we are three of the 24 hours here coming out of Indianapolis down to Arnage there might be a little bit of rain on the racetrack and of course the thing is these guys are the guinea pigs they're going to arrive at a corner and be the first ones through any wet tarmac yeah that's a it's always tricky but they also have the benefit of having more downforce then than anybody else in Bound forces your friend in these conditions that got hot tires and that's gonna help them to just navigate it but I think at this stage as we see the number 37 Malaysian car come into the pits the track has been declared well Julian I mean you could see out of the commentary box window better than our support seeing it raining outside here where we are the pizzas are now I can't say anything here but they are saying it's like between Mulsanne corner and Indianapolis it's in that area or there's a bit of a battle going on it but GTE Pro here look at this as we ride on board with Kevin Astra [Music] on board with the leading Porsche sorry the second-place Porsche of Kevin Astra there chasing his teammate Jimmy Bruni Jimmy Bruni the Italian who drove for Ferrari he thought he'd never leave but Porsche saw something in Jimmy Bruni the former Formula One driver and said we want you you are one of the best GT drivers on the planet elsewhere in that garage they look on Michael Christiansen Larenz van tour in there together with Richard leaks and the Frenchman Fredrik Avicii the PP of Kevin Astra is all over the back of the Rothman's car these porches have been nigh on untouchable here so far this weekend but as we saw last year it probably will come down to the very last lap six manufacturers down to the last lap you you couldn't script it closer now you can and this is a full-on fighters and this is drip drafting and then try to outbreak here meaning to say what twelve minutes in I wonder for sure they've spoken internally and said you know what guys let's draft each other and pull ourselves away from from the pack as the 37 cars in the pits and it's run by the johto team over obviously been very successful here in the past form of winners of lmp2 but I wonder if you are you know if you a Porsche the management and then you got the Ford Chip Ganassi cars behind them no just do each other long you know you got to survive the first 20 hours and then race the last four having you so you know as we all know you're racing Lamar as a circuit and as a venue and as a race as much as you're racing other people damage on the front serve that for GT on the front left it's had a bit of a whack hasn't it there's a light cluster hanging off and being held on by nothing more than a bit of wiring loom on the front left as a panel was popped out as well which is in fact one of the lights so it's had a bit of a knock somewhere first and second if Porsche then are the Fords it is the for number 66 and the fort number 68 Stefan Bucher Dirk Muller 34 at the moment so what you're saying that grinning he's there right up behind each other but just don't try and overtake just keep it going just we follow each other through here yeah exactly I mean the guy in front shouldn't have to be defending the inside into the chicane oh this will get a look at it here as we see from on board the Kevin s truck on look in the back of Jimmy Bruni's car heading towards the the first ones are under simmer the Toyotas you know they want to tow a other along and if you're if you're in the slipstream you can lift and cost more you can save fuel and if you know the guy behind you is gonna attack then automatically the car up front can do the same as well lift of course and save fuel and manage the brakes and the tires and it is a very advantageous position to have your teammate right alongside you in these in these early stages but Mike Conway he's driving so so well this season I I think he's been he's been one of the standout performers of that Toyota lineup he was brilliant at spa alongside Kamui Kobayashi and they were unlucky to have to start the race in the pit lane but they they you know mike mike is a seriously good driver who cuz he's quite he's quiet he's understated he doesn't really he's not very high profile isn't any talk too much out of the Praire siddhis that so it kind of goes under the radar in that lineup of high-profile drivers as we see Andre Lotterer there in the rebellion they're passing the Fords to the left and making progress so he's making his little recovery he lost a minute in the pits there guys he's now 32nd out of the 60 runners and riders that we've got in this motor race he is at the moment 34 two minutes or so behind the leader two minutes the lap times of the leaders three minutes and 18 seconds we've got a slow car on the racetrack on the run down towards Indianapolis that is the battle in lmp2 that is the algarve racing car with Patterson and we got Tracy Krohn in the line trainer a change the number eight cars come back ahead slipstream through yeah I don't know if we didn't see the first move we didn't see whether you know boy I mean let Mike past earlier and now now the other way to answer again if they're smart they let each car lead maybe two laps at a time and doesn't just each one gets the opportunity to sit in the slipstream and lifted course and save fuel so yeah I could see you look at if you heard that there let's try and listen in at mon-sol if we stay onboard I'll keep quiet at that point but just listen if it when he comes off the guns are we mr. there you know Mike in that number seven car came off the gas and 170 meters before the chicane now normally that second chicane you can break it about 6070 meters so he's doing a hundred meters of coasting to save feel they're unfortunate problem for the Yorkshire based manner Ginetta it's dropping down the order like a stone it's limping back to the pace like Simpson at the wheel of the of the number five car maybe that's why the other way but this is a replay of the start for GTE Pro the two Porsches running away with things followed by the Ford and the Ferrari we ride aboard with Kevin Astra Jimmy Bruni having a great start as Rafa Nadal the world 10 it's number one waved them off to start the 2018 LeMond 24 hours on board with the Ford GT they got through the first corner okay unlike the dragon speed car that was collected by Andre Lotterer lmp2 car and this was Jimmy Bruni threading the eye of the needle thinking although there's been a bit of action going on in front of me but now he's got a clear track as the prototype strict ahead so lot has cleared all the GT cars now he's got ahead of Bruni Nestor so he's now at the bottom of the prototype flowers two minutes nine off the leader but I think more critically he's 1 minute 57 behind the the first nod Toyota sure we say maybe megamat warning well he was up for it at the beginning which is why he was having a go as you predicted Julian here he was having a go this is a replay of the first lap of the race the GTE Pro car then we have the GTE arms that look lie and bark Matea Karolyi having a bit of a moment and also the buy collars car cutting through Timo Bernhard yeah right winner of this race last year just on the right hand side he's driving one of the regular liveried Porsches it's the 94 Porsche 911 RS are together with Roman Dumas and Sven Muller few race victories in that car Arthur now we're back live down the Mulsanne straight it is Porsche 1 & 2 then we have got in 3rd position the Fords fourth position the for Patrick P lay in the number 19 another get me Guddi teeth in number 93 sharing it with Nick Tandy and Earl Bamber also our right winners of this murder race in the past as a pair of Porsches and then a pair of pause in probe battle but there's a big cure than behind isn't that Wow oh we believe that the dragons feet kya I can see in the graphic they have pulled the number 10 car into the pits so we don't know if they've had damage from that first lap contact it's certainly not a ship you'll stop lap five is very early in the first stint to be pitting so that isn't good news for them but the number-5 janenn Doctore toby you mentioned earlier that number five car in the pits as well so they're in the garage and they've no I think they were comes you in a minute look at this the Ferrari coming down towards Indianapolis getting past the American run Porsche 911 RS are we ride up or with number 93 this is Patrick peel a the Frenchman hard on the brakes into Arnage the curve one of the slowest corners on the racetrack together with the Dunlop chicane at the top of the hill after the start/finish line Ford Ferrari Porsche Aston Martin thrashing it down towards the Porsche curves but as we have said all along these two porches untouchable so far this week I tell you what though Toby I'm encouraged by this in terms of the race because the Porsches haven't disappeared you know where they're only two point there are less than three seconds ahead of the Fords when we looked at what happen in qualifying there was a slight concern that the portions were just going to disappear up the road you know he's there 3:51 for for both the Porsches last time round the Ford a 351 for so there's there's tremendous potential for a nice little Ford versus Porsche battle and James collado I think just pull that move on Patrick delay is also there in the Ferrari so there's some knowledge yeah this is what we talked about earlier then they're pacing themselves they're playing the team game you know the Kevin Esther is under an instruction somewhere I'm sure not to parse and this is the Toyota look once clearly let the other one pass and this is the game they're gonna play I think for for this entire race Toey chai long help each other just to manage temperature and fuel consumption and it's a sensible approach if you are Toyota you would absolutely do that will they be let off the leash to attack and race in the final part who knows we'll find out you know when we sit here in 23 hours time and defense or the debrief of what's happened but we've got a great battle here in p2 haven't maybe this is Nataniel baton in the lead ahead of polo shutter and alloy 2003 Frenchman up at the front shadows French as well as me yes I think he is so yeah we got three French drivers up at the front of the battery in the lmp2 were riding on board with Nicolas Lapierre another Frenchman who back at the day when he was a POJO did an amazing job to get board position here he knows his way around here I risk is Nico and gp2 he's a he's a lovely guy very very very committed to his racing and he thinks about it anything is really really analytical guy and he's very critical of himself and you know he does a an extremely good job Mike Simpson and the Ginetta has come back out of the pit so they were in there for 2 minutes and 37 seconds are quite a a long stop but whatever the issue was they've managed to fix it helicopter view down on that lmp2 battle as they come over the hill down to watch the forest esses teams just sort of having a bit of a catch up other two - jackie chan does for jackie chan colored cars here so i've been run by two different squads the number 37 is still in the pits yes the Malaysian driven car is still in the pits and it's already lost 4 laps is our first view of the pro drive run Aston Martin's Julian there you kept an eye on them so far they're not having a good run so far are they they're not the top three in the category which is land at the minute bike golf racing then spirit of race and the dim protocol the car was on Paul he's down in third but they're ahead the top three are ahead are the two Austin's in the Pro category SMP wanting to try and get in amongst all this is his second and third Stefan Saros am mr. dr anything Stephane Sarrazin you know he's driving Lamacq cars he's driven in Formula One he's got his rally cars he certainly has a go as we come up to watch the Porsche curves once more we're only were only 23 minutes in love it yeah we've sort of gone through the happy period for the prototypes where that first six laps of the race is fantastic because you got no traffic and you're all just racing there's no traffic now though you see that's what I'm saying finish the happy period of the first six laps where you've got nice Brienne but now we're in what is truly lavaud which is the Battle of the prototypes trying to lose as little time as possible so typically you try and lose you know it depends where you catch the car but as a rule of thumb it's somewhere around six seven tenths per car that you pass if you if you average it out across a stint for example you know some cars like that you'd pass on the straight nice and easy other cars you have to dive into the braking zones you'll catch them at the Porsche curves and then you're gonna lose you know over a second or so but in general across it if you're hot on traffic if you're hot on you know taking the the calculated risks in the making the right judgment calls it should on average about seven or eight deaths per car battle for third Sarah's on in the red white and blue livery car here's the golf racing Porsche that was the leader in am it was and it's coming to the pits that is Ben Barker tall Englishman Ben Barker the wheel and it's we we had a report of retina draining on the window it's raining think slightly have ears are too bad at the moment but we don't change here just turn to let you know about the 37th chapter and racing that was over overheating yeah that's we go through sinkers leaving behind me they bring in the 38 now but it looks like this is a standard window just looking at it I mean it's such a big track here and the other parts of the track it doesn't look like it's gonna be too bad into other track conditions the pace is still good you know last time round Toyota's the lead car later 25 that the p2 cars us haven't really lost pays if anything they just starts a little bit for the traffic so paces to the good looks this is a great bad listen to third place and this is Thomas LaRon down the inside Stephane Sarrazin SFP car so rebellion takes over plays and he used the traffic there I think does advantage flashing his headlight GT drivers here comes yes and pay back though yeah the GP brothers hated with the flashlights bar the rebellion is and the SMP car clearly lower drag look at he absolutely I'll drag him he had the slipstream of the GT cars and he Saracen using all that experience to position the Ford between him and the rebellion so very very good driving as expected from experienced driver like Saracen and he's using the traffic to the door that's what he needs to do he needs to get the odd GT car between him and the rebellion melissa's this is madness I mean 20 seconds ago there were nose to tail and now they're split on half a second he's put - nearly three cars in between him and the car behind him the rebellion with Thomas law and the wheel Laurel knows we had a great run out of the second chicane so first you gain the middle section of the balsams straight but sir okay he's got time he's got time if you're the following car it is difficult in traffic because this is exactly what happens you know in the space of those four corners it's you know he's lost two point two seconds to the SMP car and you know he was ahead but it just look at the gap already and is the experience of a guy like Stephane Sarrazin and that's why I said the benefit from someone like him I'll be interested to see when people like Jenson and Fernando get in it you know how they deal with the traffic in a way that the products out and the thing you know goes out both Porsches is that the Porsche curves that's a standard both for a pro like to do because the GT cars hold the inside line the prototypes that is one that's the only place in the Porsche curves any flashing past because you've got more downforce and you're just able to carry the momentum but on the outside look at this nose to tail absolutely nose to tail for the lead in lmp2 we got one two three four five six cars and that's punched up hasn't it when we last saw them but they were the first three were just away from each other but now those are the to come bucking a probably due to those p1 cars trying to get in amongst them six cars covered by less than three seconds in LMP here I've been parking on about how close GTE Pro is gonna be I've got it wrong it's lmp2 that's even closer and it's actually seven cars I missed see gommendy there in the background so he's in there as well the number three car that was his it was it Birds when it came in remember that was the one in the platform yeah thought he was behind this sorry son just got him at near yeah yeah he's back in the piece he's in the bit this is his shed you'll stop by imagine lap eight and we're looking at Mark Patterson isn't it so what's going yeah that's Patterson versus the white car labra car yes reaching Greinke we're on board with the signa tech out pain this is Nico Lapierre coming over start/finish line Nico lapier the moments in second position in lmp2 he's in the blue car they're chasing that black and red lmp2 car Alex Brockington the pits as well guys so the rebellions out so Thomas are on Shelly on stove one minute ten and he's back out the is still in the pit so I'm not sure if that is an issue or it's a shed you'll stop it is early for a shed you'll stop isn't it I mean we're pitting normally we'd see the door - laughs 10 maybe they'd come a couple of laps early to avoid the traffic but the privateers are allowed to do maximum of 10 laps first in Toyotas we'll do 11 but yeah Alex rocky is out of the pits now 1 minute 18 so bit of a slower stop but at least he's back out there and they've had minimal running they did the the prologue for the World Endurance Championship back a couple of months ago a trick hard and then there was all sorts of Asha problems not of they're doing which meant that they didn't do the spar six hour race they did the test here a couple of weeks ago so it's been a bit in the deep end but they've done a sterling job of Ginetta to get into this run race just looking at p2 those leading cars all came into the pits they're all together again and they're all heading out of the pit so who has anyone made anything up TDS Idec Jackie Chan that could have been a real interesting pit stop section yeah but we need to wait and see because [Music] the the lead to Stevens Lapierre haven't yet he did I tell you what guys here that Ford is Chico president 1.5 seconds now you're in behind the two Porsches he stays creeping up on them so if I look at the GT battle race in the pit the number eight comes in but we've gone as I say we've got ten GT cars within 10 seconds the number 8 car into the pit so interesting to us staggering their stops they haven't despite the fact that both cars got the same fueled capacity and the same fuel allowance and and regulations they've chosen to stagger the stop so we're gonna see the number 7 car probably paid on the next lap but yeah basic settings and they stopped after nine laps out of the 11 that they can't do with their fuel allocation energy allocation as it leaves the pit box under a pure electric power some 400 horsepower of electric motor power that they've got in that car that kicks in together with the 500 plus horsepower of the internal combustion engine that they have mounted behind the driver so the number 8 has come in we expect the number seven to come in on the next lap at 13 point 6 kilometers just under 8 mile and a half miles around this this racetrack so yeah so let's let that stagger on rattle yeah just tell them jack each at number 37 car I believe they had an engine temperature show the temperature is too high and they've been trying to figure out why whether something is blocking radiators or whatever I think the car is back out on track now so it is back out on track which is good news but they've lost obviously five laps the process that adds up Curran from what Louise said into our ears earlier that there was a quote terrible smell from that number 37 Jackie Chan car that has come into the pits it's back out as Corinne says it's lost five laps so engine overheating not good at all here is GTE AM fishy Giancarlo Fisichella in the silver car with the red stripes down the front of it leads from Mateo car only the Italian from ROM the Dempsey proton racing car of Campbell in the number 77 this to action running on he's going to go round the island that's what he can do that's the United Auto Sports Car the number 32 hugo de Santa Lea will open a JPM cram Pablo Montoya they can go around the road traffic island european-style to the left and then rejoined the racetrack without having to do a three-point turn or go into the gravel or anything there is the United Auto Sports sisterly GA Phil Hansen Albuquerque and pour the rest er that's is Nicola Pia that is the g-drive car as you said earlier they're all coming in and Joe back out yeah we'll have to see how it all shakes out they're not shot fuelling they've all shot field for the first ended pitted a lap or so earlier then then they would have done otherwise here is they this is yeah he's got back ahead of prong he now has made social stress yeah love has made a recovery into seventh he's he's chipping away at it I'm just trying to see if erotic burned in that g-drive car another thing our graphics updated here but I think he might have snuck up a few places there he's he's a smart cookie Sean Eric Bernie's you know currently leading the formula e championship heading to the final round he's raced obviously in Formula One a lot so very experienced but look at this now the GTE battle Toby you're your pinch category in fiction for the closest race is starting to come true battle is it's quite something here we have a Bruni from Esther from mother from Lucca Porsche Porsche Ford for James colada raiding world champion in the World Endurance Championship with Ferrari we're riding on board with one of the four GTS this is the number 69 car were running aboard looking at Ryan Briscoe should I say side by side side by side opposite lock running out of Road for the yellow flashes on the Ford he manages to get away with it but I mean just he's got the BMW trotting around the outside that's never gonna work through the large corner look for Ferrari Corvette BMW making their way up nose to tail towards the Portugal are we gonna get 16 cars get to the end of this race not with current form something's gotta make contact yes great and then just shaking the head sweet but there was a as well yeah Briscoe there in the 69 car banging wheels with the number 61 which is at the who's ended the BMW the mother's far four sorry the ap2 car augusta father's behind him so yeah really feisty staff at this early phase of the race the leading Toyota has come in by the way Mike Conway and he's now back out behind buemi not entirely sure how what's been happened there but Mike lost each secondary play look at that he went to the left the BMW and actually I don't think the force I don't think Briscoe saw him because he moved over on him there that was a bit naughty from Bisco yeah you know the where's the BMW meant to go far FERS can't move farthest is there and he's committed was this top sorry it was Tom check 81 it was Tom check that my apologies that was in that car and he you know where was he supposed to go here on the edge of the track and actually the the four just moved over on him Alexander Sims in the pits [Music] the papers every looks so much bigger there in that corner than the four and you look at it just wider and taller and everything I'm a muscle car coming through yeah sorry I was just just to finish up Conway's lost eight seconds in that pit stop and somehow he's lost another eight seconds out on track he's now sixteen behind boy we saw from being nose to tail all of a sudden would it have been would if some reason Turner because the fuel takes the longest doesn't there we haven't seen it but he's now 16 seconds behind but here is the battle Tom Cech versus the number 64 Corvette with Oliver Gavin doesn't a leontyne grab the outside it's Martin Tom chicks first Lomond 24-hour race the DTM superstar chasing hard chasing hard there is the rebellion it's in the lmp1 class this year don't think it's part of lmp2 if Russia's past those those GTE Pro cars here is the leader of this LeMond 24-hour race it is Sebastien Buemi he is 17 seconds already ahead of his teammate Mike Conway they've both had a single pit stop but Mike Conway may be just getting in the wrong place at the wrong time to the Dunlop chicane when he came out of the pits lost a bit of time who knows what he knows where he knows how when he rejoined the racetrack but sir Sebastien Buemi still so close to having a LaVon 24-hour victory he's taken a world championship in the World Endurance Championship as he peels off the public highway onto the Porsche curves you'll see here the wall has been moved right back with an extra grippy kind of shell grip surface put there to try and arrest a spinning car should it go a little bit wide as we have the super slow-mo look of the Toyota as it comes towards our camera we are 37 and a half minutes into the LeMond 24 hours for 2018 it is Toyota 1 & 2 at the moment with the SMP racing Russian run car in third position with Stephane Sarrazin in lmp2 it's the 26 g drive car with jeff at the wheel leading from loving to vowels tds car from nicole Afiya in the sigma tech now Payne in GTE Pro it's the porches 1 & 2 with the porch 3 & 4 James colada reigning world champion he is fifth in class at present there is the bike collars car starting from the back of the grid after it failed to pull off the dummy grid he is now up to 13th having started 60th just looking at Andre Lotterer obviously yeah the first half incident in a long pit stop to fix the bodywork but he's making a pretty good recovery here guys he's now a minute in 36 off the lead but more importantly he is only 47 seconds behind Saracen in the third place SMP car so that's good progress from Andre Lotterer and that rebellion that bodes well for lead in the race he's bringing himself and that car back into contention and interplay in this race now Spearin arrays are still out front with Giancarlo Fisichella in the and the am category it's the 88 Dempsey proton racing which is in second they've got an Aston Martin between on the road though so the GT guys are now starting to come in Kevin Astros in the Fords are in Andy Priaulx Briscoe Tom check is in Gavin is in the Lando's in so we're starting to see the first round of pit stops in the GTE Pro category so let's see how that shakes out interestingly poor Shiv split the strategy Bruni's still out on track and as a for they've left Muller they left Muller mukha and Collado stayed out in the Ferrari as well so a split strategy here which is unsurprising because actually if you look at how close the two cars would have had to park in that pitted Porsche if they pitted on the same lap they would have lost time so the smart thing to do is to split them up and see Matt Ford you know you get two or the four cars in split the strategy by lab just avoids any traffic jams in the pits genius marketing genius PR from Porsche to have the retro Rothman's colour scheme and the pink pink colour scheme not so genius it now appears that all three of the pink pig Porsche drivers have exactly the same pink make livery crash helmet with the same pink pig liver overall so they all look the same so we have to wait until they come out of pit lane to see who's in the car but I can't tell you it's Michael Christensen who's taken over from Kevin estra but I only know that because I've looked at the screen do you think he's got some sort of bed to believe he's got some sort of push going on here then I feel we've missed out on time sure sure yeah but I mean water buffalo everywhere yeah the Toyotas are from the Wayne you know you're talking about Conway losing time he's dropped another second or so as well sees now he's back on track he's not even can if he's there they're about to he's dropping just a little bit yeah and you were right about Verne didn't he he came from nowhere really in that g-drive car to lead lmp2 michael fassbender here at the circuit he was racing in a you know support race the Canadian Grand Prix last weekend I saw him out in Montreal and this is a look at the number 31 that what lead before the pits wasn't it before the pit started yeah he's been a little cut across Japan that wouldn't cost him too much time but they someone said they've lost out big style and that first round of pit stops I don't know exactly how or why that's happened but they have dropped whether they they ate eat overall and they that means their eleven ten tenten pizza yeah me too so some something has happened to them or they're no longer pitstop then anybody else a one-minute seventeen stop for bouton burn had the best pit stop a one-minute once we gain he gained a lot of time because actually most other p2 cars are sort of one minute tens Elevens ah yeah one minute one that's comparable to one of the Toyotas which has less fuel to be taken on because it's got his hybrid power so I wonder if they've short filled the Jeff car because then if we ought to sink and then like maybe a cleaner runs to the pits and maybe we should maybe track position no I think it's track position now sometimes in p2 when you're in a battle with other cars you're losing you're losing time and energy driver you get on the radio and say look we need to do something to give ourselves a bit of free air because we have the speed and pace to go quicker so I think Jeff would have said I'll endure and then the team would have reacted and short maybe short field and we'll we'll know the next stop for me because they're they're normally doing 11 laps so we'll see on the next stop where they end up and Jimmy Bruni is in the pits of the leading GTE Pro car is even if followed by the Fortuner Fuller's followed him straight in let's wait and see how this shakes out because all collado Xin P lays in the Corvette only the cabinet so that Garcia Gavin has already pitted but you said the previous lap as you point out the fact the first bunch came in and then as a second bunch coming in now so it's this is just gonna be carnies potentially as they all head out of the pits and all meet each other at the Dunlop's so then get the bugs off the screen the mechanics cleaning the front of that car the check at the top pressure so they won't be changing the tires on that car Jimmy Bruni will be staying in the car that looks like James coladas car yes it is sister car coming in rights along in front of him that is David a regal Sanford mega Berliner coming in with a 71 car so will we see who could be quickest on the fuel driver change in the 82 Louise is reporting 93 cows very stowaways struggling to pull away there there's the 82 that they had that sir so far first started in that 82 gardeny so they've obviously changed to we'll find out in a second as they come across the bacon bar right let's see where's all shaking out here guys and they've taped up the front of that fort that was damaged remember we [Music] with the tape just quickly before you speak Julian the investigation between Andre Lotterer and Ben Hanley at the very first corner of this race no further action it was a racing incident and I think that's the right decision so the 92 car has got Michael Christensen now in it again yes it's in action so I could really miss the fact that's the chief driver but they pick that I gave you their analysis lost in the amount of times you said pink pink now taking over the lead the Bruni cars dropped behind their mother that's the key for knows but make is that the Ford is now slipped in between those two Porsches so this is shaping up nicely there Rooney's made a pit stop those six second slower than the Kristensen teammate car so that six seconds was lost in the pit stop which is strange considering the Christians car of Kristensen car changed drivers and the pony car didn't you know debate later normally if there's any delay the driver changes something you you'll see it happen there must be uh maybe a few of their friends um frankly it could just be a simple thing that one card to didn't pull away as well but we saw the 93 car starting to pull away the Bruni's car moved stopped moved to gain its there's a couple of seconds yeah because I'm just looking the 93 which we saw struggling to pull away there's not a a 1 minute 6 stop so again he's lost 4 seconds to dress it's another that could have just been the the pull away so well look at the SMP car heading down through the Dunlop kind of bouncing around all those moments a particularly comfy ride is it for sorrows on Izzy's car looks edgy they lay looks it doesn't look like it's not the compliance over the bumps that you see from the rebellions or the Toyotas so Saracen he's hustling his knee and he's doing a really good job now boys 6.6 ahead of Thomas Laurent he always hustles doesn't hey there's something special about Sarah tan around this circuit super slow-mo him coming through the Dunlop chicane at the top of the hill meanwhile back on the Mulsanne straight that is the number three car that's Thomas law he started the race he's still in the car he's coming up to the first chicane and he is fourth overall he's a minute back of the leading Toyota which he's still Sebastian but way means Blaney has at 19 second lead over Mike Conway Conway likewise has a 40 second lead or so over Stephane Sarrazin that we saw a moment ago dragon speeds going well though it's just a bit into fifth and only 8 seconds away free remember that was going the wrong way the first corner this guy so back up in this must be some good base in that he's only 15 seconds down on San Jose and last time around he's taken another 6/10 out of Santa's on there so that car is as you mentioned Julian it's it is pushing along so we're on board the 93 car this is interesting the and cars haven't yet they don't know they are starting to pit now but the AB cars going a little bit longer than the Protoss so we're starting to see a little bit of a mix-up they in the order this is a great battle still to be feeling colada they've been at it since lap one of this race and colada still ahead in that portion in the Ferrari ahead of the Patrick pilet American Porsche [Music] [Music] I'm quite sure I understood all of that message when I push the button it's crazy I thought he said black and white flag for the 44 erasure car for abuse of track limits Tracy Krohn yeah and then the 48 car which is the ID export car reported to the Stewart's where they currently sat fourth it be to mother and then the pole for we know they've got potential be quick so that and that's the thing at Lamar you know that the rules around the pit stop they can trip you up you know it's the small things like you're not allowed to have excessive wheelspin on the launcher you know the number of mechanics over the red line if you got one too many guys or two you know a mechanical chooses to monitor windscreen or a mirror and that's all it takes to get your penalty it truly is a team race this one is done you know the drivers do their thing but there's a lot of other stuff that happens around there the pit stops and just just getting the cars in the right window legality wise is so important just looking in pro there that is the second-place car there that the number 91 car now has got a massive leader 4.4 seconds but not but the 19 oh yeah you've you've mister the two leaders at your limits it's Michael Kristensen in the lead one point one ahead of Delk molar and Jimmy Bruni three point three behind so there's a couple of people who snuck onto page one yeah just having a page one and a page anyway just because it's closer to your end of the cover too much too much code over there for you tuning different postcode as these cars rattle it on down to the Mulsanne corner essentially therefore fifth sixth seventh in class now then let's have a look at the white weathertech are that's you and hanky there in the blue Aston Martin you and hanky who is currently [Music] by doing what about the velocity I've lost myself well he was trying to find him this is in my postcode this one and I still can't find it cuz he was in the car 84 84 through these blue Aston Martin is 6th in class if you're looking for you and Anki he's not there it's his teammate Yoda because in the car the DF spot car so they are running 6 o'clock so at least he got the six incarcerate yeah well he was your daddy that started the start of the race for that car select you look at the Turk is now in the blue Matt's blue colored Aston Martin does any other name on the grid floor off your tongue as well oh yeah there is Ranga van der Zanden oh yeah I I think Sal akela Quinn's my bet for the name that just flows easiest good sticking out of those classifications that's not good reading is it for Aston Martin 16th and 17th in GTE Pro think that they they've had a tough tough build-up to the mall it's a new car they haven't yet got it where they warned in terms of in terms of the balance of performance for those of you who don't understand in the GT category all the manufacturers have some sort of performance equivalency formula I should say where they have different weights in dip because they've all got different cars different engine sizes because of that the the regulator's apply different rules so we should see Luiz there's a great [Music] yes number 92 he said where he thinks that changeover happened they big number 91 have trouble getting in we got our first visit to a gravel trap here that's the Keating Motorsports the number 90 at 385 car then Keating breakable and Lucas Stokes ditch the Dutchman at the helm and he is limping back to the pits just being a bit careful on the exit of the Porsche curves you're never gonna have a slow speed accident here we go Oh lost it on the entry but that's very surprising to me because Bleeker modern is buddies inning corrections campaigner he's been at this race and frankly he drives more races than any other day together I know on the planet this is his 13th L'Amour and for him to make that sort of an error this early in the race is a little bit surprising for me on board with the Toyota coming down to the Mulsanne corner as he goes through the right-hander up towards Indianapolis that's the number 8 car leading this race 20 seconds ahead of the number 7 card Lance is the old Dutch jumbo squad the Jumbo squad in the 29 French van Sakina van der Garda & Yandel Lammers that's is in 9th position at the moment in about the guards currently behind the wheel been Hanley's come back into the pits and obviously he pitted early I'll have sync from everybody so he's now done is 10 lat they're five laps outta sync from everyone else he's brought the bragging speed car in guys Sean Eric fun he's motoring honors last time round he's the only driver in the PTO's who'd done a 329 zero nobody else one of two cars in the 332nd and a half are anyone else his lead in lmp2 now up to 8 seconds over like Duvall so he's really pushed on since that first round of pit stops you were also just pointing at the screen in GTE Pro he can't see it at the minute but Dirk Muller is closing that gap in to the Porsche 92 screen we got it Julian so they're listening to you aren't they that's first and second and the GTE Pro battle as they come up towards the Porsche curves but the difference in stars look at the difference in the cars obviously the lmp2 cars are pretty similar the lmp1 cars little bit different but still similar GTE Pro it looks like the thing you can buy and drive home yeah yeah that the Ford here he's lost his mate has made because Stefan Luca is now 11 seconds behind so if you think back to the how that I started where the two Porsches nose-to-tail the 2/4 nose-to-tail Lukas lost out somehow in that first round of pit stops he's a lady not really a lot store the pits but some way he's lost out [Music] ahead of you is on the fryers we're gonna run our own race car so a bit of advice from the engineer they're just really using all they're all just kissing the dirt on the way yard and Jimmy Bruni the other Porsche hind the man of the right they of Bogart Hummel he he's seen a few races in his lifetime I tell you he's very involved with Porsche in the quarter also from the one team as well so he's used to manage Gerhard Berger back in the day did did Burkhart minato's experiences the block in the middle who's mr. Porsche himself yes who's arrived here this morning is just flown in walk past some friends at Porsche this morning and they were all a bit on it there is one of the genetic slowly it is the number 6 car so the number 6 car currently God Alex Alex Brundle out of the wheel that's Shane I'm just look at the indicate he's in third gear do you think he's one of he's stuck in gear or something he's sort of crawling along in third gear and not going particularly quickly he's doing the right thing getting off line staying to one side of the track he's been asking the right thing he's if using sort of path don't look the graphic at the bottom the green graphic is he's only using twenty thirty percent throttle but he's not changing gear there's clearly some sort of an issue there he's gonna be but a minute and a half left to get to the pits isn't he sir Alexa is a sensible and he's very good again you know he recognizes that he needs to get out of people's way he doesn't want to do anything silly he's you know he's goes head screwed on you but look the face this is well this is no bother you got GTS gonna be ones LFP dudes all in the badness of this down the books are three four fifth sixth seventh and eighth position in the GTE Pro category nose to tail and three abreast down the bolts aren't straight as the rebellion rattles past to try and get the room the voluma Corsa car that's been rebuilt or nearly running out of Road so that is the rebellion in the lmp1 category that is fourth overall with Thomas law he's getting past the palapa course a car that had that crash in final qualifying great to see that that car has been rebuilt and is in this race touchwood for those guys so far yeah this this Corvette now coming down the inside the monster on them this is super it is super close but the Ford has the final say as it gets on the anchors into the right-hander and Garcia Stefan Milken and Tony Garcia Garcia's in the street knows he comes out and he's God right behind him Alexandre Sims so Stefan look has got the inside and the run down Indianapolis Garcia's gonna have the slip stream from coladas Ferrari in front of him and they sort of share the slipstream but he has got ahead Garcia in the Corvette so the Corvette with just the benefits did seem a little bit more straight-line speed has managed to sneak ahead to Stefan Bucher after running a strong fourth place in GTE Pro early on has slipped down the order another one into Arnage he looks but you're not gonna get through there with the similar cut of the fourth in this GTE Pro category I remind you that leading the class at the banquet is Marco Kristensen in the Porsche from Dirk Miller their split by 1.1 seconds these guys then in as I say fourth fifth sixth seventh position some 12 seconds back from the outright lead in the GTE Pro Class Alex Brandon's made it to the pits tobe so that's good news for him and you know the genetic guys will be straight on to that to try and understand what what's going on and what's happening up at the front boo Amy still leads Conway now 18 point eight seconds so the number eight car clearly with the advantage in this early phase of the race and in p2 Sean Eric fern now has got a lead of where we're looking but seven seconds so that sort of maintained Lloyd to Val has picked him at about seven seconds but dwell in turn has now made a gap about sin and a half eight seconds to Nicolas Lapierre how close can a Corvette get as they come out of a large corner accelerating hard away we've had our first hour here Lamont 24-hour race for 2018 these guys make their way up to ward the deadlock curve once more I remind you this is the number 82 car this is Alex Simms he's eighth in class at the moment chasing the Ferrari in front of him Stefan Bucher in the Ford Antonio Garcia change Gallardo peel a Jimmy Bruni is a little bit further up the road to the tune of some what is it six seven seconds or so so the Corvette coming through onto the Mulsanne straight once more as the g-drive car rattles past on its way on its way forward yeah as we're riding on board here the number 82 car this has been a fantastic battle all the way down the the monster on straights Alexander Sims we got blue flags here down at the chicane were on board the 67 this is Andy Priaulx going down the inside of that was yeah
