hello my wonderful wonderful friends happy monday to you all and welcome back to our slash entitled people where you'll get to hear about people who think that the world revolves around them like opie's neighbor right here who sends this wonderful note to op that reads dear neighbor i love how neighbors in quotations you just moved into this neighborhood a year ago and i wanted to give you time to correct this problem on your own but you apparently are too inconsiderate to do so every day this week when the weather's been nice and the windows are open you proceed to let your small child run free in your backyard and laugh and giggle and carry on without end this is very disruptive for my two dogs and my bird who sits next to the window and likes to look into your yard perhaps you could ask him to tone it down a bit or at least limit his outside time to 15 to 20 minutes a day so my dogs can be outside without seeing him running around if this kind of behavior persists i will call the police i think it's time for op to have some more kids who agrees my friends in this episode you're going to hear some crazy stories the first story is an absolutely insane one an entitled mother denies her son's dying wish to read a fantasy book because it's against her beliefs the second story a woman thinks that her family's rules apply to everyone and we'll finish up with a story about an entitled sister who thinks her and her kids are owed a vacation my friends these stories are absolutely insane and i do hope you stay for all of them and hit that subscribe button so you can hear more entitled stories in the future if you like this kind of stuff let's dive in so some backstory i'm in a d d group with a couple of friends from nearby and one of the members of the group was a kid who was about 15 years old he's a really sweet kid likes helping other people out and he's a big fan of dungeons and dragons he also has cancer in both of his lungs he's from a religious family that basically forces him to act pure while he's in their sight the mom is westboro baptist church-level rabbid while the dad is just a sensible person who just tries to get him to be a good kid when he's out of sight of his parents he just does normal teen stuff because of his mom the only books he was allowed to own were christian books and bibles he joined our group mainly as a way to escape his home life and his mom well a couple of weeks ago the cancer in his lungs took a heavy toll so he was taken to a hospital by his parents he contacted me about this a day after he was taken to the hospital stating that he wanted a monster manual as his last wish and that he was tired of reading the same things i bought him the book from barnes noble but considering that he's a dying teen i also got him volo's guide to monsters and morton kanan's tomb of foes stacked on top of that the next day which is his birthday he was still in the hospital so i brought him the books as a gift after he blew out the candles we had cake and started opening the gifts mine was the first to be opened seeing what they were he immediately got this humongous smile on his face and hugged me meanwhile his mom stared at the books with a look of pure disgust with her husband staring at her with this weary look in his eyes she picks up one of the books and re-lights one of the candles and holds the damn book over it to try to set it on fire i managed to stop her in demand what the heck are you doing he asked me to get those books and i'm not gonna let you take them away his mom simply stared me down and said something along the lines of the books being sinful satanic and full of evil and that her son had no business with them i retort and say that her son can read whatever the heck he wants and she shouldn't have to force him to be a christian she starts getting red in the face and yells at me about essentially forcing children to believe in god from a young age i state that i'm baptist which i actually am and say that faith in god is a matter between god and the individual she turns red all over and actively starts to try to destroy the books with me and my friend and her husband trying to stop her at one point i shouted would god want you to do this to restrict your dying son's freedom of expression and this sets her ablaze she tosses the books aside and starts trying to strangle her son and her husband calls security immediately when she does this security gets there and sees us trying to pull her off of her son with her shouting that we're all catamites to the devil both her husband and my friend charge her with abuse and assault the trial's still going and i'll try to update this post as the trial goes on guys what an absolutely insane mom your child is in a hospital fighting for his life and let's just try to attack him over a book that happens to have monsters in it oh my goodness so i had a great fourth teacher who thought that pokemon was the work of the devil i kid you not if we were in her classroom she did not want to see or hear us talk about pokemon at all this was back in the 90s when pokemon was huge and don't even get me started on her scoffing at us for reading goosebumps animorphs and talking about power rangers guys she gave us a whole lecture one time about how power rangers was a bad show because rita was a witch now opie has an update to the story and it reads trial was almost a disaster me him and her husband all prosecuted against her the moment she saw us she tried to tackle us shouting something about divine retribution and during the whole thing she kept pinning the blame on me and him calling us corrupted by sin needless to say she was pronounced guilty of the charges that i mentioned earlier the moment she heard this she went and tried to attack the judge but the officers tased her to the floor she'll now be serving at 20 years with 10 more on top for assaulting a court official and to all who are wondering my friend's fine the cancer is gone from his lungs so my friends i have one question for you if you had a child whose dying wish was against your beliefs would you or would you not let them fulfill it now i don't want there to be a huge dispute in the comments section and i respect everyone's beliefs and values i just want to know what do you guys think of the situation here last week i was traveling for work it had been a long two days of meetings and i was exhausted i had just arrived at the airport from my evening cross country flight home when i got the dreaded text from the airline saying that my flight was delayed for two hours due to mechanical problems i decided to pass the time by getting something to eat i found an airport restaurant and sat down to order i ordered my food and pulled my phone out of my bag to catch up on emails and browse the web while waiting for my food to arrive while i was waiting a family with a mom dad a little girl about five years old and a middle-aged schoolboy sat at the table near me i didn't pay the much attention as i was looking at my email on my phone but then i hear the little girl exclaim in a rather loud voice look mom that lady's on her phone at the table i then hear the mother reply yeah she shouldn't be doing that it's rude to have a phone at the table i glance over and the mother says to me we have a rule that no phones are allowed at the table my first reaction was to say something snarky as exhaustion was definitely getting the better of me but then i thought better of it and decided to be polite i looked at the little girl and said we have the same rule in my family but since i'm here alone i'm not being rude to anyone by looking at my phone now at this point the sun looks like he wants to crawl under the table from embarrassment and dad is trying to hand the mom a menu and says it's okay let's just order i think that'll be the end of it but no the mom says obviously you have a family so you know how important it is to follow rules i would appreciate it if you would put away your phone in a tone that a parent would use on a teen the little girl chimes in and says yeah you have to put your phone away my brother can't have his phone at the table so you can't either i look at the little girl and say in the sweetest tone that i can muster well the great thing about being a grown-up is i can do whatever i want so i'm going to keep looking at my phone and i turn back to my email the mother sighs loudly the teen looks even more embarrassed and the dad tries to get the mom to just order and to leave me alone the mom calls the waiter over and asks to be reseeded he grudgingly moves them to a different table i think op handled that situation quite well i also like that the mom has a rule that no phones are allowed at the dinner table to encourage face-to-face social interaction that's a really good thing to do i just personally think that she needs to change up her approach and teach her kids that different families do things differently but that's just me you guys you know do whatever you want with your kids a little over two years ago i won a raffle at my job for an all expense paid family vacation it wasn't some super fancy prize to disneyland or anything crazy like that it was just a nice three-day stay at this little beach house in place it was for four people and i asked around and found out that the package deal cost just under 400 i of course asked my boyfriend at the time to go but he couldn't take off school i'd also want to take my single friends and make it a girls trip type deal but they either couldn't because of work or they had plans already which i was sad about but understood since the plan was a bust i decided to see if my sister and her two kids wanted to come i figured they'd enjoy it and so did my sister and i didn't want to waste the tickets well i went down to visit my family that weekend intent on asking my sister if they'd want to come but the longer i was there the more i hated the idea by the time i was packing up to go home i knew i wasn't inviting them i love my niece and nephew but they're super bratty back then because my sister never disciplines them ever i love them but she lets them get into everything and do whatever they want visiting is always a chore because i end up watching them to give her mom a break and it's pathetic and every time i visit my sister she dumped them on me the entire time like usual and by that point i knew if they came it would turn into me babysitting them while she had a vacation so i didn't mention the trip or vacation and said goodbye before leaving the next day i called my good friend megan because she has two kids which are older than my sister's kids and are very well behaved she's a single working mom who i figured could use to vacation i asked if she would be free for xyz days and she was like yeah so i offered to invite her along with me on this vacation we went and had a blast i got a pretty good tan we ate lots of buffet food swam at a beach and did family type activities all weekend before coming back her kids are super sweet and i didn't feel like i was babysitting at all even when i was helping megan with them after i got home i posted some pictures that i took nothing in your face just a couple of cute ones of us on the beach and before lunch even rolled around on my first day back at work my sister was blowing up my phone i knew ignoring her calls would just prolong the inevitable so i answered i barely got past hey before she was asking me how the hell i could afford a vacation i told her it was a raffle prize and she asked who won me or my friend and i said me she proceeded to flip her lid demanding to know why i hadn't invited her i was honest and said because i didn't want to end up babysitting her kids for my entire vacation she got mad and called me a horrible person the worst auntie ever etc then said that i knew that she needed a vacation and then hung up on me before i could reply i just sighed and continued working later while i was leaving work our mom called me asking why i'd promised my niece and nephew that i'd take him on vacation but never went through with it it turns out my sister told them that we were all supposed to go on a vacation together but i ruined it and took someone else's kids and now they didn't get to go my niece and nephew sobbed all day it took my mom ages to get them to stop crying long enough to explain what was wrong i told my mom my side and she dropped it after i told her i didn't invite them because i didn't feel like babysitting my whole vacation mom also torn to my sister for lying to her and also lying to her kids and hurting her kids feelings like that i wasn't there but mom said sister threw a huge fit and basically trash-talked me all afternoon the only thing i really felt bad for was my sister getting my niece and nephew's hopes up like that that's the exact reason i'd never said anything to them but to cheer them up i took them the next weekend to a kid's play place i also sat down with them while they ate and explained that the trip i was on was for me and my friend and that they wouldn't have liked it because it got so hot and sweaty they handled it very well no tears or anything so reading the story i was expecting another entitled story where the mom sides with the sister and both of them go against opie i'm really glad the mother in the story had a good head on her shoulders and actually listened to opi's out of the story it also sucks that she brought her kids into this situation to try to guilt opie over not taking her and her kids to the vacation she definitely sounds like one toxic mother my friends and that brings us to
