- Hey guys, I'm a light sleeper. Probably like many of you. And a few years ago, 2017. I created a piece of paper, I punched some holes in it. And then I just hung
it on command adhesives as a sort of affordable, temporary blackout blind. But in recent years, Ikea has actually created a product. it's only six bucks and
it works a lot better. So this is a room that I rent. It came with this curtain. That's not a blackout and
light can often shine up through and then sort
of cast on the ceiling. And it just, ya know wakes me up. So I got this SCHOTTIS Blackout Blind. It's really just paper, kind of a waxy thick blackout paper. Now they do also have a white one. That's, lets a little bit more light through. Gives you kind of that sheer look and a little bit of brightness, but some privacy. I'm a big fan of the blackout. And as you can see, it really just sticks to the
window sill or the ceiling. But that can pull the paint off, which is what happened to me. So now I use some duct
tape just to reinforce it. It just accordions down and
you cut it to the exact width, which is great because
not a lot of light shines in from the sides. And then at the base, there are some Velcro
stickers that you use. And then these plastic things, they sort of grab on to
the accordion portion. So you could raise this. Yeah, just kind of clasps on. Okay, so that's why there's two of those. And the base when you do that, it's not perfectly straight. It's just a big piece of paper. That's kind of hanging down. So it's not the most beautiful solution, but it is affordable
and it is semi-permanent versus fully permanent. On this side, It's sort of a papery feel. On the other side, it's a little bit shinier. Like this, and I'll try to show you perspective from the outside too. Please like and subscribe, so I can continue sharing
