hi guys so today we're going to be building a new computer i've been preparing for this for a while um my two computers that i have right now are kind of starting to give me a little bit of trouble i have a laptop and a pc that i built eight years ago and i really want a fresh new system and i think it's time so these are all the parts that we need and we're going to start out with the motherboard this is the rogue crosshair 8 dark hero it's an amd motherboard i actually was going to go with the msi tomahawk but i kind of did a like spontaneous purchase of this when i saw that it was in stock and it should have everything that i need so let me get it open here okay kitty you are gonna cause a problem okay so here it is looks beautiful i really like the pretty much all black look to this no extra little colors just black grays and whites so let me remove it from here in the box it looks like we have some optional stickers a user guide looks like there's a disk in here as well probably has some drivers in it oh what this says little disc and then under here should be all of the extra little screws and little things we're going to need down the line so let's just get this motherboard out and on top of the box so we can start with our first important step okay so the motherboard is now on the cardboard box ready to go and this little area we're going to put in the processor i'm going to be putting in amd processor this is the 5950x processor it's a really really good one so i'm excited to see what it's capable of still sealed right there so let's open it up and get it installed so in order to install the processor we need to lift up this lever here here we go and we have our processor here and we're just lining up the arrows and going to let it drop into place on here and then put the lever back down so now we're going to be installing the ram and i have four sticks of 32 gigabyte ram this is the corsair vengeance rgb ram and so that's a total of 120 gigabytes of ram i was originally only going to go with 64 gigabytes but this ram was on sale during black friday so i figured i would just get four sticks of it so we're just gonna open up open up all of these little latches and we're going to make sure our pins right here line up and really push down on it like that and these little clips right here are just gonna snap right into place and that's how you know you did it right all right looks really good all right and now we're going to install our m.2 ssd this is samsung and it's two terabytes okay so and that's gonna go right here under this uh dark hero heatsink i'm gonna put this off all right we're gonna just put this to the side all right so we're going to screw this in find our little screw here there we go and check the back here and this is a heat sink pad so we're gonna tear this off that all right so this is a longer m.2 ssd so i believe i can only screw in this screw on this side here from what i can tell i'm going to install the ssd on this bottom one because it has a lot more room and we're gonna slide it in here that should work a lot better i'm just gonna put this heatsink back on here and we need to screw in this little standoff down here there we go perfect now we'll have enough room to screw our heat sink back on and so then we're gonna peel off this little sticker on the back okay awesome and now we can put this one back on up here and maybe in the future if i get a smaller m.2 i can put it up here so now we've pretty much done everything that we can do outside of the case so and now we're going to put the motherboard into our case over to the side here and this is the case this is the fantax p600s case and we're going to be putting the motherboard in here it's nice it has this front door that opens like this hopefully this won't be causing any problems if it is i can unscrew it from here there's some hinges that are unscrewable but it's time to put the motherboard in here i see that they've put the standoffs for your standard atx motherboard already set in here and i'm going to be screwing it in let's see i have some separate fans i'm going to be using for this i'm using corsair's rgb fans instead of the phanteks uh non-rgb fans but i think i can take those off um once i have the motherboard in there so we can do that first this case is amazing i really love it so far it has an amazing build quality it came with this really nice booklet really detailed with color pictures and everything and i found the screws that i need so let's put this motherboard in here we just kind of have to line it up here there's these holes like this that line up with the standoffs i'm actually gonna take off some of this now we can go around and tighten everything up all right motherboard is in place okay now for probably the toughest part of this whole build is going to be the installation of the aio this is corsair's h100i elite caplex it's got two fans 220 millimeter fans and here's our pretty rgb pump pad now i don't think i'll be able to really show this entire process because it has a lot of little moving parts but um we're just gonna get this in here all right so i've taken everything out of the box and kind of separated it so you can see we have our pump head right here right now it has the intel bracket on it so we're gonna have to switch that and then this is a radiator still in the back so this should be the andy bracket so this is it now try to have to avoid touching this too much or smearing it because that's uh our thermal paste okay you should be able to do that and then this goes like this easy enough all right so now we have the amd bracket on there all right so then our next step is to screw in our fans to the radiator and i've just kind of mapped it out for myself to know which way they need to go and this is how it's supposed to go so i'm going to be using these long screws to get through here off camera i installed the fans and the radiator into the top of the case right here everything's all screwed in and now we're going to put the pump head down onto the cpu and everything is ready to go we just have to line it up with these clips and then screw it down all right it feels secure all right so this cable is going to go into the commander core thing i think so i'm going to feed it out through the back and then this one is going to plug into the fan header just like that right in there all right i think everything that we needed to do with it laying down like this is finish so i'm gonna stand the computer up and start plugging in some cables up at the front and at the back okay so i have routed all of the cables for the aio to the back there's a lighting and fan controller that comes with it so i'm going to get everything plugged into this while i'm here so i don't get confused later when i have all of these cables in here i expect some of these i'm going to end up removing because i'm going to change the vans so okay one of these is for the power i think it's this one and this came from the the pump head and i believe it goes into here and make sure i line it up going like that this side is fans and that side is rgb so there's one and that's two and then the rgb goes right into here just like that and then this one will go into one of the usb headers on the motherboard and this will be the power into the power supply and then i'm going to probably right now switch all of the fans to my corsair fans and finish setting up this and getting it all organized before i start getting out the power supply and plugging everything in i've done a couple of things off camera i switched the phanteks case fans to these corsair rgb fans there's three in the front front and then one in the back and that way i could connect all my fans up to this commander core right here and it's completely full um it had six spots so i have six fans in total now and then i also screwed in this ssd there's a western digital blue one terabyte ssd there and then also two hard drives down here western digital blue uh four terabytes each hard drives for storage and now we can start getting everything all plugged in for my power supply i went with csonic i've heard a lot of good things about them so we're going with a 1000 watt uh focus gx it's got the 80 plus gold certification for um the energy efficiency so let's open this up and get all the parts out and plugged in so let's get into this and this should be a fully modular [Music] a couple of little pamphlets in the user guide and that's nice they include some zip ties and some poker ones these are all of our cables okay so we're gonna have to go through our bags here and pick out which ones we're gonna need all right so here we go we have our cpu cable and [Music] a couple of pcie express i'm not sure how many i'm gonna need of this one but i got out and here's our 24 pin motherboard cable i think i'm going to need four seda cables so we'll put all these to the side and then we'll see if we need them after we get a lot of this stuff all right so i plugged in the motherboard 24 pin and see here and then we can plug in the cpu with this side that says psu to there and let's see we're going to plug the pcie express into the ones down here just like that and then let's see we can probably plug one of these in too all right so now we can feed this into the case and then get it all screwed in all right so this needs to go into here and just make sure that the fan is on the bottom and then we can feed all of these cables through this hole here and there we go and we can put this bracket back on and then we're going to use these screws which when it's in our box with the power supply and screw in all of the holes there's four of them okay all right secure it into the case so i have done a couple things in here plugged in all of the little connectors on the bottom hd audio power switch usb stuff as well as the motherboard connector somewhere around here and cpu somewhere over here i plugged in all of the hard drives ssd into the power supply as well as into the motherboard so we only have pretty much one more big thing we need to do which is install the graphics card and i'm going with the 3070 by evga this is the ftw3 ultra edition of it it's got some rgb lights on it so i'm excited about that so let's finally open up this box and there it is blue pamphlets okay and there is still in the plastic wrap looks like we got to take off these two screws we're going to be putting it in this slot right there okay there we go looks like it looks like we need uh what is this 16 pins so i'll have to see i don't know if i plug that many in but we can check right now okay so if i got everything right this should be the last thing that we have to plug in before trying our first power on um if you could see here i got these cool cable extensions with the white gray and black i think it looks cool i also attached it to the 24 pin i think it looks really cool really nice all right so i think we can plug them in like this okay all right so now it's the moment of truth we are plugged in we got some lights that's a good sign and we are all good check it out wow it looks so pretty okay i'm gonna have to get my monitor so i can get everything installed windows and all that and it's awesome you
