need to understand that everything that you need is while you worship him you will find everything that you need if you feel lost he says if you worship me when i step into your situation a way is made in the wilderness [Music] only reason we're still standing here maybe you're too pretty for me maybe i need to just have my alone time to go the only reason i'm still standing here after being homeless after being shot after being stabbed maybe the only reason that i'm still standing here is because you made you yeah you made a way i could have i should have lost my mind with the trauma that had been in my life but thanks be to god you led it away from me you you've been my sustainer maybe this is too much for you but if you ever knew what god did for me i'm not supposed to be here right now no i should be in somebody's jail cell locked away from the rest of my life i should be in somebody's grave never to rise again but he he might he made a way and i just need about 10 seconds can we think on the things that he's done for us i wanted to just be a christian jukebox section i don't want to just sing songs and we not talk about the god that truly transformed our life can we take about 10 seconds can we can we take a moment and say god you didn't have to do it but i'm i'm so thankful that you did if you never give me another blessing i'm thankful for what you've done to me [Music] the song we're about to sing hallelujah it's reminiscing on everything he's done for us pastor told us we should be able to remember what he's done so he can reveal what he can do can you is there anybody that's expecting what he's done you you give him praise for but you're you're excited for what he's about to do and this song is a remembrance to them you move mountains you cause years ago you've seen him do it 10 years ago you seen him do it in 2020 and you know he cares do it again somebody say god you can and you will do it again if you believe it worship him right [Music] the people who are going with it and you can turn around others see the people who feel like they're getting their hair blow dried okay you are looking at a bunch of people set free saved turned around life changed forever and we can't get up here and act like god has not done anything for us [Applause] there's been no rehearsal this week this is not choreographed this is personal passion for god and sometimes the more cultured and sometimes the more successful we get the less emotional we become but he said bless him o my soul your soul is your mind your will and emotions oh my and he said and all that is within me she said pastor why do you act so crazy because once i get up here i've got to give him a praise that is all my soul and all that is within me and all my soul and all that is within me i'm gonna turn you loose for 30 seconds to get out of the comfort zone and give him up bless the lord [Applause] is [Music] is [Music] so now those of you that don't know jesus i invite you into this i'm not inviting you into a dead dried up religion [Music] we're not worshiping idols that can't talk back and not do anything this is a living jesus on the inside of my heart walks when they talk with me a friend that sticks closer than a brother never leaves me alone he can be yours you can belong to him i get up every day of my life knowing i belong yes i know i belong to a woman yes i know i belong to a family yeah i know i belong to a church but i get up every morning if i had none of those knowing i belong to him that he purchased me i was worth something and it was a relationship i wouldn't trade every relationship in the world would you buy your head close your eyes right there just for a moment everything that we said was true he can turn it around at the last minute i've seen him turn it around in the midnight hour in my own life whatever he's done he can do it again and let me give you a secret he can exceed it that's my god and he's here and the fact that you're feeling a pull the fact that you're feeling a pull is the evidence that is your time because the bible says no man can come to god lest god draw him and if you're being drawn that means god has pinpointed you out and he's writing a love letter to you today saying this is your day please don't reason it away please don't talk yourself out of it please don't let the opinions of others intimidate you who cares what they think when you stand before god you're not going to stand with them you're going to stand by yourself make this decision on your own head bowel not as clothes if you say pastor if jesus gives joy like i'm seeing today and he'll come and be that personal with me that i see him being with you i want him in my life if that's you and you don't know him but you want to before you leave with head bowed knives because it's just me you and god would you just throw your hand up and say pastor i want to know him like that i want to know him like that yes ma'am yes ma'am yes man yes yes i see your hands yes sir i see your hands yes sir i saw your hand that's about nine ten ten people have raised their hand i can't see in the balcony but i saw ten on the floor come on let's put our hands together for jesus right there yeah we sing to god but we also sing so that can happen because when people don't not enter the presence of god on their own we are worship leaders and we lead in worship so that what i'm experiencing everybody can experience pray this prayer with me especially those of you that raised your hand everybody in the building say i thank you jesus that you love me that much that you would die on a cross and be raised on the third day so that i could be saved i'm sorry and i ask your forgiveness for all my past for all i've done wrong i ask you to come live in me be my lord and savior from this moment forward i accept your gift of salvation and from this moment forward i serve you in jesus name you got to take another deep breath and give god praise hallelujah i want you to turn around and get about three or four people in your sights and look at him and say yes he can come on tell him say yes he can [Music] come on something years ago we started a fellowship uh we enjoy one of the beauties of this congregation is the extreme not just diversity extreme diversity i think anything great is diverse i don't think you can have greatness without diversity so anything in the earth that's truly great is truly diverse but not all states enjoy that like the one you live in and i went into the deep south in the last state to have an mlk holiday and my county was the last county in the last state to adopt an mlk holiday and i went in there and i was going to be a white man that was going to have a multicultural church and i wanted that breakthrough and there was a lot of people attracted to that 20-something years ago they they didn't want to pastor a church where everybody looked like them [Music] they wanted that diversity and it brought together a network of pastors from all over america and the world which got up to 1143 nations those are the gentlemen that helped me oversee this network and hopefully over the years when we have our conferences and other things you'll see them here the one you saw at the beginning and the end pastor dwayne johnson he runs it uh i hired him about six months ago and the the former former gentleman retired and i brought him on from joyce meyer's ministry joyce meyer i've heard is still not forgiving me for that he is the sharpest young man i mean he is sharp and i call him the closer because every church i go preach at i take him with me and all of a sudden they join in the fellowship so i just turn him loose on them but it's that's who they are and that's i hope you didn't mind sitting through that i didn't know they were doing that until the first service this morning i didn't know about it the second service but uh it has been a good week my wife has treated my birthday like hers i've never i've always said hope don't have hope don't have birthdays she has birth month [Music] and she's turned mine into the very least a birth week i've had a week long of it so i'm grateful for that and i'm grateful that you're here i echo what they said if you got saved please by all means don't leave today without going to a booth and signing the connect card likewise if you are a first-time visitor you're why we're here isn't it good to see the building just a little bit more people every week is just a little bit more man i was able to see some friends for my birthday this week that i'd not seen since before covent and we really missed each other they're my brothers and sisters in faith but they're someone i share friendship with and go on vacations with and we share lives together and we all talked about how difficult it was to preach to empty buildings that was just really tough on all of us and so your attendance here means much more than you could even know i got a little bit of announcements i don't want to bog it down in meetings but this is the only time i get an audience with everybody is on sunday so if we got something important coming i have to talk about it now you saw that our anniversary weekend in october we're going to be having that expansion offering i don't know the church has really changed so much here just recently but i was so glad when i came here that i didn't have to build a building i have built 11 buildings and that's when all this gray hair started popping out on my face there's nothing more excruciating distracting and energy draining than a building program and i've done a lot of them and one of the things i was so grateful for that these these buildings are massive they're built and they can go the distance but also recognize that we're going to have to do a lot of infrastructure the world has changed since this building was built the technology has changed since this building was built for instance every one of those lights you see that is the stage lighting all these white lights you can't even buy bulbs for those anymore everything's led led burns less than ten percent of the energy they're burning right now but that's a hundred and fifty two thousand dollar bill to get all of that yanked out of that ceiling and to do it right the carpet that your chair is sitting on is original you heard me right it is original things like that the facing on the front of the building we want to update two years ago you gave 1.6 million dollars in expansion offering and we were able to redistribute the speaker cabinets we were able to do technological infrastructure put a wi-fi system through the whole building and redo 38 000 foot of children's building and we didn't borrow a dime to do it and i'm so grateful for that so we do this one time a year on our anniversary and by the way that will also be our 212 conference who on friday night october the 9th i have christine kane coming hallelujah and how many of you ever heard of john maxwell the great leadership guru he is going to be he don't even go to churches anymore and he's coming here for three days and so i'm excited about that and especially this being almost the center of corporate america uh they may not know redemption they may not know you or me but the corporate corporations around here haven't been many times a year to speak and he looked at me in a meeting a while back he said i can help you ron he said they may not know your church yet he said but they know me he said and i want to bring them to you and so he's going to be here that whole weekend of expansion so whatever you got to do to feel comfortable in a full building i have every intention of packing it out so if you need a mask if you need to get vaccinated or you want to wear a nuclear plant suit i don't care what you got to do but we're going to pack this building out in jesus name okay are you ready for that it's time and offering time would you stand with me what a great time what a great spirit in the house give me about three minutes because i never just do this if you just do it people don't know why they do it and so i always take two or three minutes and just teach right here because i don't want you to do everything anything out of religion this is not a religion this is a relationship a passionate relationship with jesus christ god set up a system called tithing offering 10 percent he said bring it to him the 90 is called an offering he said if you give offerings he'll give it back to you press down shaken together running over he said shall men give unto your bosom god said if you bring the tithe i'll open the windows of heaven he said but if you give anything above that he said i'll cause men to give back god said so when you need it i'll have people in places at the right time with the right amount that'll bring the right thing into your life and invest it into you i can't tell you how many times because i'm a giver i'm an extreme giver i can't tell you how many times people showed up at the right time with the right thing and i believe that's a direct result of me trying to obey in that area i want you to know something god owns it all the earth is the lord's and the fullness thereof that actually means translated the earth is the lord and everything in it so all of your money is god's so why does god say bring me ten percent if he owns it all because it's not that he needs money he's already got all of it it's that we need the blessing so tithe and offering is god's management system to train and develop his people if you're not an owner if god's the owner then you've immediately become the manager so god has set this system up to train us to manage well i've always said in life you don't get what you want you get what you can manage you want god to make you a millionaire but you won't tithe off a thousand he who is faithful and little will be faithful and much he who is unjust and little will be also unjust in much if you'll steal bubble gum from me you'll steal a million dollars from him i'm on fire right now i'm talking about so when we come to this moment understand it's something that god designed not for him he don't need it it's something he wants to do for us and when we engage in this moment there's a very powerful transaction between you and heaven that takes place and i'm believing for you i'm walking around here and declaring and believing stuff for you we started those confessions at five minutes before the service why to put stuff in the atmosphere but i believe i believe god wants you blessed i do not believe god designed he for his people to struggle but to be blessed this is the way we engage that blessing so lord bless the gift and the giver and i thank you that the spirit of generosity rings loud and deep in this church and i thank you that when we do it we do it happy and cheerful glee glad to be able to give back to a god who withheld nothing from us so we bless you now in this moment multiply it in jesus name i ask and everybody said amen and amen you know like every time the app online text to give or our seated help me gentlemen [Music] do i prepared way too much today and in the last service i probably had 70 percent of my content that i had not even gotten to plus they were pretty spirited group this morning and i blame a lot of it on them they were taking up my time shouting so i'd have to let them get through shouting before i could start back preaching and i had a great service but i didn't get anywhere content-wise where i wanted to again let me say how glad i am that you're here i don't take anything for granted i don't feel entitled to anything uh i feel blessed and i feel grateful and the fact that you're in this room lets me know that you're hungry for something bigger than yourself and hopefully you find him before you leave luke chapter 10 turn there in your smartphone your bible app your bible if not you can read on the screens with me i like it if you can turn there yourself i want you to know your bible not just google i want you to know your bible we didn't have google when i was first studying my bible and that made me build a deep relationship with my bible and uh i want you to have the same i want you to know that book it is the word of god and i want you to know it luke chapter 10 we're calling this good god and bad neighbors uh i think that's a little comical why because god is easy to love neighbors not so much but the golden rule is to love god and then love your neighbor as yourself probably gonna start on the neighbor thing next week uh i hadn't really had a chance to get there yet and that's always a little bit of a challenge because we're sitting there talking about loving god it's easy to clap but when you start talking about loving your neighbor as yourself that's a little bit deeper challenge that's a high bar to sit so i'll get into some of those matters next week today i want to continue talking about loving god though luke chapter 10. i read this whole story last week i'm not going to read the whole one now i'm just going to take about four verses out of it but uh this is the story where you hear what they commonly refer to as the good samaritan where basically a lawyer asked jesus he said what must i do to inherit eternal life and jesus said what do you what's your take what do you think and so he made this great statement and jesus actually responded said you've answered pretty well do that and you will live and then he says well who's my neighbor [Music] and then we go into the story of the good samaritan i did that last week i'm just going to read the love part because i want to deal with that in the remaining minutes that i have with you this morning behold a certain lawyer stood up and tested him saying teacher what shall i do to inherit eternal life he said what's written in the law what's your reading of it he said you tell me so he answered and said you shall love the lord your god [Music] with all your heart all your soul all your strength all your mind and your neighbor as yourself he said them you've answered rightly you do this and you'll live verse 29. i don't want to go i want to go there let me wait if i go there i'm gonna open up a whole nother can of worms let me stay back at 28. love the lord your god all your heart all your soul all your mind and all your strength what does that even look like what does that even look like i told hope i said when i was studying for this i said this is one of the hardest things been to prepare for because how do you show how do you preach a sermon on how to love god because love is not something you teach about love is something you show so the greatest message i can preach on loving god is my life that's the greatest message i have this is really a tough message to try to explain how he wants to be loved so lord i ask that you in the next few minutes give me supernatural communication power open the eyes of our understanding show us how to love you in jesus name and everybody said amen tell your neighbor on both sides here we go neighbor here we go y'all got kind of quiet on me y'all ain't tired are you that praise and worship was good but you've got some gas in your tank right okay um thank you brother terrence i have a lot of things out of my youth that i think are very valuable and they're my heritage and i want to take them with me there's a lot of other stuff that was religious and i've had to shed it like old snake skin you have to know in your journey what to hold on to and what to get rid of um i was raised amongst people who didn't have very much and so i saw a lot of miracles i saw a lot of crazy stuff because they didn't have a lot of modern conveniences the church my dad pastor when i was a teenager the bathrooms were outside with a little wire hanging down in a bulb and i'm not that old a guy very primitive upbringing i mean it's one of those churches where they had a thermometer on the stage and they've been raising money 30 years to repair the roof that thermometer never moved we just keep the bucket out there catching the water in the middle of sanctuary you know that that was my church but i remember when me and hope got married and we went to start a church we didn't have anything nothing we didn't have no people we didn't have a building we didn't have anything and i remember just literally me and hope grabbing hands and praying for food and go on the porch and open the door and there's a bag of groceries uh i remember one time i had a meeting i needed to go to and it was gonna take me a hundred dollars worth of gasoline to get there and back i didn't have a hundred dollars and we prayed and asked god to do a miracle and i opened an envelope for west virginia with no return address that have 520s wrapped up in typewriter paper i got a thousand of those because honestly if i can tell you something i believe a lot of our modern conveniences rob us of opportunities to believe god it's a whole lot easier to slap two tylenol than believe god to heal your headache and so i we didn't have any health insurance we we didn't go to the doctor you just they drug you down the altar and pray we didn't have counselors we didn't have counsel we didn't have nobody a christian counselor to go and help you process and we'd have they just bring you down to an altar i mean no i don't mean you got to come to the altar i mean they already knew you had a problem they walked back there and grabbed you and the old church mothers and bring you down y'all don't have no i can tell y'all look at me like what kind of church is that they they would discern you were into something and come back there and get you and bring you down to the altar and you'd be trying to get up because you finished they put your head back down because they ain't finished you didn't get up till they were ready for you to get up and uh so i come into this modern day where we got 1.41 million people today doing church with us live but i want you to know from where it's i've came and the gap in between i've seen god do many things one of the things that i believe has been lost is the ability and the know-how just to very simply seek the lord i don't think people know how to tarry with god it's hard when you can mash a button on your phone and somebody show up on the curb and pick you up in three minutes that culture doesn't align itself well with waiting on the lord man i feel the spirit of god even as i'm saying it i feel it difficult subjects to talk about i when i got saved i got radically saved i don't mean i prayed a prayer and they threw me a t-shirt i mean radically saved i got up and i left everything i left everybody i left all the stuff i left all the addictions i mean i got up and i walked out of it i turned around 180 degrees with a vengeance and never walked back i would skyward then they didn't have the internet the newspaper who was going to be in town where was the next revival who's having a conference i showed up at everything i wanted to hear every preacher i want to hear every message i wanted to learn the bible i got radically revolutionized when i got saved and so i remember even in our dorm rooms we'd get up five o'clock morning didn't have a class to eight but we would just seek the lord say what do you mean seek him just learning how to come to god and say lord i love you not this almighty wise god thou maker of heaven earth and this day we think that ain't what god wants god's looking at you saying who you talking to he's a father when i pull up and i've been going for a while and my wife and my kids i don't want to pull up in the driveway and then say oh father the father of this house the leader of this lineage and this bloodline that i don't want to hear that i want to come up with the arm problem and say daddy i missed you i want them to be relational with me i don't want them to treat me like a statue i don't want them treat me like a cross we hang in the back of a building i want them to be relational with me and that's what i think we've we've missed we now have church people that come to a church that take 90 minutes and live through a pastor's relationship with god i had a fellow tell me one time he said it's so fun to come to church he said because i love to see you light yourself on fire and burn and though that was a compliment but it did speak to me that he's living through my experience he didn't come to embrace god himself he came to watch me embrace him because to him that was entertaining to see a guy so passionate about something yet he did not experience that passion himself see it's not that i want you to watch my passion it's that i want mine to be infectious and i want you to catch a hold of it because i do love him and i ain't scared to act like i love him come on somebody so he came up to this to this lawyer the lawyer came up to him he said love the lord your god with all your heart all your mind all your soul and all your strength and love your neighbor as yourself we call it the golden rule but i want to break down that four ways god wants to be loved love the lord god with all your heart all your mind all your soul and all your strength can i take a few minutes and do that wave at me if i'm all right okay now the word heart there means the seat as in sit down the seat of your affections in other words the centerpiece he said i want you to love me as i though i am the centerpiece of your life when my kids come and ask me dad what about this i say what is god saying i bring it right back to the centerpiece when i'm in a difficult position and i got a very difficult decision to make i don't go by what i feel i say what does god say i bring myself back to the center when we're facing something as a church i'm saying what is god saying what is god doing why because i have at the core and the center of my person a desire and affection for god that tries to govern and every decision that i would ever make and that's what god is saying he says i want you to love me in such a way that i am the centerpiece of your life i do not want to be a leftover i don't want to be an afterthought i don't want you to be casual with me i don't want you to show up if you don't have anybody to meet or nowhere nowhere else to go he said i want you to build life around me not tag me alone in the back god is the main event he is not the sideshow so when i go into my career when i go into my investments when i go into my money when i go in to when i go into my education when i go into my accomplishments everything what i do i love god as a centerpiece that's why that's why tithing is so difficult for some people you know why because you got to work on that centerpiece because it's not hard for my money to go there why he's already at the center so he don't even have to ask me for it all he's got to do is just touch it and i'm ready to let it go why because i've already seen how he blesses i'm already confident of what he'll do i've already reached resolution on the matter and i have him at the core of my being being the flow through which i live out of do you understand what i'm talking about so i can't love you right if i don't love him right there's no way to get this horizontal stuff right if i don't get this vertical stuff right he said so love me with all of your desires let all of your affections be wrapped up in me in other words love everything and everybody else through the affection that you have for me at the core of your being and you say well how do i how do i do that how do i how do i make my affections and my desires be so wrapped up in god well i'm glad you asked psalm 37 and verse 4 delight yourself in the lord and he will give you the desires of your heart that don't mean god is santa claus and if you come in here and worship for 30 minutes god will give you everything on your wish list that's not what that's saying that saying when you learn how to delight yourself in god god takes his desires and puts them inside of you because let me tell you something all of us don't have godly desires all of us fight with desires that work contrary to god they're working against our relationship with god if you say you don't have them you're not being honest with yourself everybody has to fight feelings and desires and emotions and affections that run contrary to what would please god and he says but this is what you need to do when you get in my presence delight yourself in the lord and then i'll take the things that i love and the things i have affection for and i'll put those things inside of you and then all of a sudden after a little while you and me are wanting the same thing so in other words it's not a struggle to want what god wants but i have learned to love the very same thing that god loves because he has put his desires and made them my desires so god what i want i want what you want what i want to say i want to say what you want to say what i want to do i want to do whatever you want to do right now i want the same thing he wants let me tell you something you're not free because you were able to change your behavior well you know i've been alcoholic for 10 years and pastor i hadn't had a drink in a month that ain't that ain't freedom that's torment freedom is when you look at it and say you no longer have dominion over me you don't rule me i rule you so you say all right i'll i love him with all my heart that's the seed of my affections and my desires how does that happen that's when i delight myself in him and he puts his desires and his wants and affections in me so what is delighting i'm glad you asked delighting means to make flexible and pliable in the presence of god in other words god when you spend time with him begins to massage into you he takes your rigidity and begins to make you more flexible begins to take that place where you are so inflexible and so religion rigid he begins to massage it and enlarge you and give you greater capacity stay with me this is good i'll tell you one thing i'm talking about um i got i went to college on a basketball scholarship small small university in the state of georgia and that's where i got saved so i got saved after my first season there after my first season i went to my coach and i turned in my scholarship well my family didn't handle college money so i had to go to work and get a job on the maintenance team for the university and i literally worked for the university while i went to the university and that's how i put myself i changed and i got into bible curriculum and i went to bible school i graduated bible school on a thursday 36 months later i graduated bible school on thursday i married hope the next saturday and i started a church the next sunday that is not a model for success you're clapping because you feel sorry for me and you're saying bless his heart lord so i had only been saved 36 months when i started a church that again is not a model for success about eight to ten years into starting our church god really began to give us some breakthrough and it started turning and i got asked because word got out about all the things god was doing in our church by the university to come back and speak to the student body i couldn't wait hadn't been there in a decade and i remember not worship we had praise we had a band man i mean we have a we had rhythm section we had percussion section we had trumpet sweat saxophone i remember banned over the stage i remember praise singers i remember choirs i remember we would have times where we would have service for hours we'd lay in the floor we'd seek god until they had to run us out of the building i remember seeing miracles i remember seeing people get delivered it was unreal just these amazing musical worship services we'd have so when i was driving back to the school to preach that night i was waiting for that building to be filled and i had that in my mind so i got there that night building held about 2500 people it was packed with college students and so i'm waiting for this big band to come out and i'm waiting for all this stuff that i remembered i was ready to experience it again and here comes this dude walking up and he gets to the middle and he turns and there's a little microphone on a stand he's a little dude i remember he was bull headed and had a goatee no band no singers no choir no anything this is what he did he came he lived he died and he rose again oh he came he lived he's planning to get dark he died and he rose again i'm sitting there going am i being tricked or something he came he lived he died no no no no you have no idea this goes on and on and we're about 20 minutes and he came he lived he i'm like does this song have any more verses i get it he came he lived he died he got up i got it message received verse 2 please so i'm turning around i can't because i'm on the front row and i'm kind of want to see what's going on behind me and i look back 2500 kids he came there he died front to back of my heroes again and he came he lit i'm like so i'm on the front row i i bob on over to the side a little bit [Applause] he came here he died no it wasn't near that good yeah i mean no no he rolls up so i come over there i get onside and i tell god i said god i said this is terrible and god says i know it is bad no idea i'm just kidding he didn't really say that but i had my framework of how this was going to happen but god said turn around and i turned around i saw 2500 young adults they weren't out partying they weren't running down the street knowing god knows what they weren't in a crack house tears running down their face hands in the air they were bobbing though and god said ron you're too rigid and i began to repent i said lord i'm sorry he said would you rather have your preference today or would you rather see 2 500 people have a move of god and i said god i'll bob all day long if i can see 2 500 kids in here worshiping god anybody know what i'm talking about when you get in the presence of god he takes mindsets like that right there that think god can only do it this way and god can only do it this way and he begins to make you pliable it begins to make you flexible when you delight yourself in the lord he makes you soft in the places where you used to be harmed and all of a sudden he begins to give you his desires take five seconds if you feel a transfer coming if god says i'm gonna put what's in me and i'm gonna put it in you somebody shout hallelujah [Applause] all right got a little more time let me work this thing let me work this thing see says all your heart oh your soul suke from which we get the word psychology which means mind will and emotions love me with all your emotions well i've go to church services never ain't any motion anywhere in the building why have we stopped that god said this is the place turn your passions loose he said when you get in my prayer he said love me with all your mind all your mind all your will all your emotions wrap it up and let it explode in my presence now our worship services should be a gathering of an explosion of emotions and then see that's the time where you set all your accomplishments to the side all your titles to the side because that's what king david did king david took off his crown he took off his royal robe he said right now my accomplishments my victories and my titles don't mean anything i'll be back in a minute i gotta worship god and the bible says he danced down main street jerusalem before god with all of his might if a king can disrobe his status and begin to worship god with his all with all of his might certainly we can come in this room i want people to walk in here and say i don't know their god but i can tell they sure do love him [Applause] all your heart all your soul i got to finish oh your might your might means your abilities pastor you don't know i'm pretty sure my company really invests in keeping me because i'm very valuable to them i don't doubt that but what would it be like if god got a hold of it if you're that good by yourself what if you took your abilities that's what might means might means all of your abilities take all of your abilities and love him with them what if you did your job not like you were loving your paycheck but like you loved him that'd make you see your job differently and then all of a sudden you become a standout employee you become an employee that can't go unnoticed and love the lord with all your mind i got to that and this is where i want to take these last seven or eight minutes and i want to hit that because i'm trying to teach you how to love god this god said that's the way i want to be loved i want you to love me like this and i want you to come to church and sing three songs and go away and be nice all right do good things and we'll see you next sunday i said i want you to love me can i just meddle right here a little bit can i i need to me what we call in the sound i need the medal you don't need to wait for a praise team to start praising because real praise does not have to be evoked from somebody else case in point okay i've been off full week i've been traveling i've been preaching come home there's my wife and my kids my wife says all right my kids your daddy's home i want you all to go out there and love him go out there and hug him okay i don't want that hug no i don't want that hug go back inside and start over i want them to run out because they can't be restrained because they miss their daddy so much and they can't wait to see it okay how do you think god's your heavenly father i don't i don't want somebody to have to stand up here and beg me would you please praise him would you please put your hands up in it would you plea i don't need him to do that when i came in here and prayed two hours yesterday i had my hands in there and there wasn't nobody in here there wasn't no cameras in here there wasn't no team in here i was praying i was prophesying i was weeping i jumped i hopped i dance why because that's not a hat that i do in front of you i do it when nobody's watching but god come on somebody and god said i want you to love me and tie all of that stuff up in me when you love me so i noticed something he said love me with all your heart all your soul all your mind and all your strength well mind means mind and soul means mind why did he say love me with your mind twice that's interesting love me with your mind and love me with your soul your word the word soul means mind william love me would you mind twice let me tell you why i said it twice because i don't scare if you studied astrophysics i don't care if you're the greatest computer programmer in the history of mankind i don't care what your degree or your accolades or how smart you're intelligent you are your brain has two functions two that's all it can remember and it can imagine i did a teaching in 2015 which to this day is the most watched and biggest selling teaching i've ever had more so more dvds more cds more downloads it's called mind world i took 10 weeks and talked about your mind world your mind has the ability to remember your mind has the ability to imagine we live in a place where imagination runs strong most people do not and your brain is programmed that if you do not give it something to imagine it will retreat back to memory here's the difficulty of living out of your memory your imagination is as big as a universe your memory is as big as a closet and that's why most people's life is about that big because they live remembering every bad thing that's happened to them everything everybody's done to them everything they didn't get all the deficiencies they had growing up my mom and dad busted up i didn't know who my dad was so and so treated me wrong so and so on and they live in that little room and the calendar's turning and your hair is getting grayer but your mind hasn't moved and now you're 52 but you're still living and what happened when you were 12. and as a man thinketh your reality is defined not by whether or not the calendar is moving but whether or not your mind is moving so we come to the altar and say pray for me my life is stuck there's no such thing as your life being stuck your mind is stuck if you get your mind moving your life will move and the reason your life goes nowhere is because your mind's going oh ron carpenter you preaching today your mind's not going anywhere do you know what faith is faith is god giving you the ability to paint the picture of his promise on the canvas of your soul so you come in a building and you just got a diagnosis where the doctor says there is no help for you there's nothing else i can do for you but then you hear me come up on here and i get the microphone and say by his stripes you are healed and to some people that's frustrating they say does he not have any idea how bad a pain i'm in does he not have any idea how many pills i took just to be in this building this morning and so they hear that and instead of being inspired they get frustrated because i'm saying something that is contradictory to their experience okay but you can live in that room of your experience or you can begin to paint a picture of a healed jew a put together you a strong you are you without pain or you that doesn't need all those medications god wants to paint that on the picture of your imagination you say show it to me prove it to me the woman with the issue of blood the bible says she was weak and why because she was hemorrhaging and the bible says she said within herself that's meditation she said within herself if i can touch the hem of his garment i shall be made whole so she got out of her momentary pain and her affliction she had spent all of her money she didn't wallow in the fact that she was basically broke she was not brokenhearted because no doctor was able to give her any cure she basically sit there and say i'm getting out of wallowing in my misery of my past i'm painting a picture of what can be if i can touch him this thing will leave me and the bible says she got up and pursued him and touched the hem of his garment and jesus said who touched me oh come on somebody because whatever you imagine you have the power to pursue if you don't imagine anything you don't pursue anything but when you see the people that are running after something it's because they've seen something on the inside of them ow love me with all your heart all your soul all your mind all your strengths [Applause] so pardon me so david uses his memory all memory ain't bad god don't want you to forget everything you got to remember victories someone saw walked out on you and did you wrong okay you got to forget that forgetting those things which are behind that word forget means to willfully unnotice it don't mean amnesia it means it's there but you choose to do this with your focus [Applause] you willfully unnotice it i refuse to focus on you focus is a powerful thing because your mind is like a drill bit and if you can focus on it long enough you'll strike oil so the enemy don't really need to stop you all he needs to do is distract you he breaks your focus i am preaching i'm gonna go out buy myself a statement it's my birthday all right i gotta quit being silly let me finish so here's david he's looking at this giant and the and david's 12. come on you got to quit reading that like a bedtime story here is a freckle-faced 12-year-old boy and he's looking at a 10-foot tall war machine the dude was built for war that's all he does is kill people and break things and david's david's walking toward him i bet goliath is saying who is this cocky little kid and where is his confidence coming from and david's walking to him and talking to him because you don't ever walk towards your giant with your mouth closed that was extra we ain't taking up normal offense that's free that's free you're running toward a giant you better be talking to it the whole time and he says i've already killed a lion memory he's winding that thing up faster i've already killed a bear and then look what he says he goes from memory to imagination he said and you have come at me with a sword and a spear but i come at you in the name of the lord god of host who this day has given you into my hands he already seen goliath going down he already saw the rock going through the air he already saw him holding his head in his hand because god said i want you to love me with your imagination with the possibilities of a blessed you a peaceful you a joyful you a prosperous you a healed you a strong you can you love him like that stand on your feet with me come on give god 10 seconds of praise in this building hallelujah so pastor what do you mean when you say love god love him like that the seat of your affections all of your activities turning your emotions loose loving him with the victories you remember and loving him with the faith that you believe he can make tomorrow better than today i want to love him like that look at two or three people say love him like that love him like that love him like that let me get you guys out of here i hope you have the best week you've ever had and i love you and i care about you you've made this the best birthday ever and i thank you for it can i bless you how may the lord bless you and keep you and make his face shine upon you may he establish and give you
