[Music] hello food lovers today I have for you a beautiful red lentil Kebab recipe now this is delicious nutritious vegetarian and vegan and it's super easy to make so let's get started I will start off by washing one cup of red lentils the lentils are nicely washed now I'll add some water and soak it for about 20 to 25 minutes the lentils has been soaking for 25 minutes so I'll go ahead and drain it and set aside now I'll start with preparing the vegetables here I have 1 medium onion finely chopped 1 medium potato grated 1 medium carrot grated and 1 cup of finely chopped cabbage to a heated pan add 1 teaspoon of cooking oil in goes all the vegetables now you can use any vegetable of your choice half a teaspoon of salt mix it all well and let it cook for about 4 to 5 minutes on medium high heat what I'm trying to do here is to cook out the extra moisture from the vegetables so that the Kebab mixture does not get soggy now the veggies look nicely cooked so I'll turn off the heat and set it aside for it to cool down moving on to a food processor I will add the red lentils please note I've thoroughly dried out the extra moisture of the red ltil by dabbing it with the paper towel in goes 1 in of Ginger roughly chopped four cloves of garlic roughly chopped one cup of flat leaf parsley roughly chopped you can use cilantro leaves instead if you prefer half a cup of almond flour you can also substitute it for whole almonds cashew nuts pine nuts or any nuts of your choice 1 teaspoon of salt now the red lentil does not have much taste on its own so I'm going to spice it up in goes half a teaspoon of garam masala 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper or Indian chili powder now this is completely optional you may adjust the heat based on your liking 1 teaspoon of cumin powder 1 teaspon of black pepper powder and juice of one whole lime or lemon and go ahead and process [Music] it half it through scrape everything down off the sides using a spatula and give it a good [Music] mix and blend it again now we're looking to finally grind this we do not want a pasty mixture it should have a little bit of texture once Blended set it aside all the prep work is done now let's start with making the kebabs two a mixing bowl add the red lentil mixture in goes the [Music] vegetables I will also add 1/4 TP o of baking soda mix it all really [Music] well now I will add a few drops of oil on my hand and rub it I'm doing this so that the mixture does not stick to my hands now you can make the kebabs of any shape of your choice I will make it oval in shape now this makes up to 29 to 30 kebabs you can also make it smaller or bigger based on your preference now let's start frying the kebabs to a heated pan add some cooking oil I'm using half a cup of canola oil now you can go ahead and deep fry it if you prefer looks like the oil is heated I will add a little bit of mixture to test it now we we want the oil to be hot but not too hot that it burns the Kebab if you notice the mixture is bubbling up that means the oil is ready so I'll go ahead and Fry the kebabs on medium to medium high heat depending on your stub fry about 3 to 4 minutes on each side one side is nicely Brown so I'll go ahead and Fry the other side as well for about another 3 to 4 minutes the kebabs are nicely done so I will remove it from the pan fry the rest of the kebabs in the same way red lentil kebabs all done and ready to eat these kebabs are delicious you can add it to your sandwiches wraps salad it also makes a great appetizer I hope you will give this recipe a try and if you have enjoyed this recipe please subscribe to my channel for more healthy easy and delicious recipes for the list of ingredients and their measurements please see the description box below
