I Found an ABANDONED BMW Supercar at the Salvage Auction. It's Been Sitting for YEARS!

oh right off the bat rich is this one this uh this is an SS Chevrolet what's going on the back a lot of stuff in there it comes with you know I don't know if it comes with that guys I hope it does this is like one of these cars that is probably just been delivered here and you can tell from the front end it's not in the greatest shape but this is a very very cool parts car automatic trans for those of you know that don't know and are like why is he just looking at a Chevy Malibu this is a Chevrolet SS this is basically like an American BMW m5 ls3 right out of a Corvette in it like 430 ish horsepower and these are like great sports sedans and what the Holden's made fun right I think so and I think that they've got like a DAC adaptive suspension stuff so it's really kind of unassuming except for those really bright wheels you've got the Corvette powered sedan pretty cool and they don't sell for a lot especially not with that sort of damage rich we got the coming attractions this is where we saw that green Lambo remember the murciélago a year ago remember that long sold they put their newer stuff and higher end stuff up here Maserati I love this car because I've been watching the prices of these here they're going for like I want to say I don't want to say next to nothing because you gotta have some money to buy one but 24,000 miles for what this car looks like for what it costs new over a hundred grand they're selling for a fraction literal fraction now this is typical Italian you know build stuff here so this needs to be fixed up but otherwise interiors really nice look at the carpeting 24,000 miles the best color interior at least one of the best colors wears here oh look so when you come to the salvage jobs you go and you see a car from one angle right one angle but then there's a passenger side airbag deployed but when we walk by the passenger side then yeah let's see come around here black exhaust tips kind of cool Oh trunk looks like it's popped good no it's not pop the bumper right here oh yeah here we go something's happen we're getting warmer yeah look what's a quarter look like here we ah there it is folks so a quarter panel damaged car it's really not too terrible back here it's not great these are surprisingly wide wheels yeah really wide tires and look they're pretty bald too suspension stuff we've probably got control arm maybe a axle shaft broken I've seen much worse I'm not a big fan of repairing quarter damaged cars because there's a lot that goes into repairing this properly if it was a little bit less pushed in and not all the out of alignment I do like body repair quarter cars but this I'd want a whole quarter replacement look how big of this panel is though for a lot of quarters it's just kind of here yeah section here this quarter goes all the roof yeah you probably all the way to end it in here somewhere they probably sell you all of this all where the door goes so it's very similar in the Ferrari all this comes apart right here you see your screws and then you got to cut it all out you take the weather stripping out good amount of repair and then it extends to basically what is the rear trunk tub here so problematic this doesn't seem that bad air bags containing the door panel itself yeah the seats pop beautiful condition interior Oh seat belt that swim goggles Sam little known fact about me is I actually love Diesel's and seeing this one from far away got me a little excited it's a power stroke 67 turbo diesel coming up to it alone obviously there's some rare damage to the bed that has me fix and it seems like these two doors would probably have to replace the access panels the leaf spring popped out look at that huh yeah you got leaf-spring shock damage I see a loose one looks like a what do you call that little a link of some sort chef oh snap tied driveshaft like a SEMA truck so what's this this is a excel so kind of a bait oh my gosh rich you see that oh all right those it before the monitors is the southern truck you know what's funny that's not the first time I've ever found one of those in the salvage ox really that I bought but my video got to monetize that so I'm gonna lay that out yes way yes it did that's crazy otherwise one hundred thirty seven thousand one hundred fifty miles it's a Ford diesel so rich you do the honors it's gonna start right up and look at the floor this is like the reminiscent of the Police Interceptor floors that are easy to clean and spray out when you get any debris under there well look at that look it in I'm gonna show you what I'm looking at all right and that's not the thing on the passenger side footing that I could still see you what are you looking at this key is not the right key look that's for us for a Chrysler it's a Chrysler key a GP a-- well the other keys in it all right he's ready yep all right wish me luck yeah is that Brian rich my look the only thing maybe a hammer is a straw oh no I like this truck a lot you got to get the mack daddy the like platinum or King Ranch yeah with a nice brown interior that's not the the whatever these things are running hard yeah yeah out when you open the door that's when you gotta get I do like this one though this is pretty cool look it's like a golf cart I look just like my my a charrisse my i8 okay and let's see what it says it says a lute illuminates no eliminate eliminate that's a way of spelling it a lifestyle fitment be patient I'm Laura I can read rich yeah I can read that's those car looks have been repainted right we paint yeah Civic rear-end damage what more can you say it looks like it's been slammed cut Springs rich is it cut spring 100% maybe this is the original color let's see but I want to know is there any engine mods can we get this over think it's closed from inside we got to see a hundred ninety one thousand miles this car a decent life until the guy put all stickers over it yeah oh the front bumpers in the car maybe just got it painted no it's a brand new bumper oh really good for him this looks like an yeah that's a replayed well that's a replacement part for sure look at the old color now what are you painted it oh my was yeah I was old man tan rich you know you can't be too choosy when you're buying a project car what do you think modified or not Sam I think there's an air intake at least your intake Oh nailed it and painted bow summer that's just like the top part oh jeez wiring harness cover Wow good for him although this yellow here meaning he probably spray-painted it on the engine bay there's like yellow flakes there is well well good for him we're rich what the person got into an accident I wish them well I hope they're alright now you know what they're probably blessed alright with the jokes rich we got it we got it Jesus guy oh I like this game right here what from writing here look can you see down in the distance right there can you see that I can see that it's burnt but what is it from here more from right here I would guess the Volkswagen yeah Jenna what's suspicious about this it looks like this car was stripped then it burned no it does not that a bridge are you that no no this place in the taillights are gone like somebody melted completely there's no way there'd be some residue in here this is your foul play foul play man right listen we're not here to ruin someone's day okay huh but this this looks like it's got the potential rich but rebuilt buried let's rebuild this family rebuild I mean it's gonna definitely need new wheels and tires yeah those are look there's one wheel that we might be able to sandblast yeah we'll do that let me see how's this body that's still solid still good yeah I mean slightly warped this is one of those really good sewing a fire yeah you see how like this is oh no it really I'm gonna move the gas tank I'm scratching my own rich gases I'm removing the gas no the rich rich rich enough nobody this car I'm gonna find out turned into this okay you do that the engine is clearly you know right there there's a few Wow you could see pretty bad yeah nice see how metal warps in a fire like this roof roofs are usually pretty thin and it's all warmed up Sam we could fix the simple listen I've heard of people attempting that rich that's just not my sort of project have they done it [Music] that's a questionable thing I don't know okay all that capable Porsche Panamera for [ __ ] front end here so this is not a turbo there's a naturally aspirated v8 but right here see how crunch that front frame components that's just the frame extension now a lot of times I can pull things in a bit so this car probably can a little bit of work in that front frame Department nice vent though but otherwise it looks pretty nasty this is something you could repair 78640 three miles these things cost what over a hundred grand new and they're all over the salvage auctions now where are these rear doors always that big oh this is the executive I know it seemed longer what do you mean by exec I thought that they always had that Sun or tunnel I don't know look it says executive this is a long one huh alright cuz look at this rear door that's a master part yeah it is I've never even seen one of the either of I this is pretty incredible so you sit back here someone had a cigar two in here but it's not terrible six what a weird place for a button rights right dead center and it doesn't make any sense all right we got in here this is some weird stuff in here I don't really like touching anything porno but salvage auction etiquette these carts come with all sorts of stuff in the trunk you don't touch anything oh there's some Gucci stuff in nothing that's a Gucci Gucci it's a Gucci box tony the tiger yeah i'm sort of close at what oh it's just like a now just close it yeah like a standard car very cool this is a this is so weird yeah it's right there smack dab in the center I like this one it's long body's neat I want to do some more research on this this isn't really cool and these cars now if this is like say 1314 they don't sell for a ton of money so I say they don't this is I've never seen again an executive long wheelbase Wow so who knows what it might sell for but this is a very very interesting car alright 92 m3 actually used to have one of these cars was just a coupe though I had the DCT trans and a carbon roof what happened to a similar color what do you think happened to us I sold it every boat repo yeah okay no you know it was a car that like I looked out I love this hood bulge right here right I was bummed that it didn't have the six-speed when I bought it when I drove it this transmission in this car for a 10 plus year old car is awesome you ever driven one of these dcts Goodrich you just we're talking about how you had an m5 I don't buy it and five none of them the m5 cost more money than an m3 and it's the same generation we're talking about it all right rich I'm I don't even know what to believe anymore so I really like my car it's funny the previous owners wife the car was mint Oh kind of like this interior look at this color this is not my old car mine had just I think oh my hat beige interior but previous owners wife didn't like the stereo in it he took it to a custom stereo shop and it was one of these deals where somebody hacked the stereo Partridge and it had a nasty whine - why am I even telling this story I shouldn't be it's a boring story I'm gonna start the car horn sounds dude sounds great sounds really good let's see if this calms down a bit right here we got a black ice air freshener so of course it smells good a couple missing buttons right here I think one is for the suspension forget what the other one is maybe traction control we've got the convertible top button right here and this is super cool so right here this is how you control how quickly and how harshly the car shifts this is a really really cool trance so rich yeah this is like kind of where they keep a lot of the Motorsports stuff last time I was here there was a McLaren in here I know was here yeah before we get completely around the golf cart you know what else was here what rich and I scoured the entire salvage auction but there was just one last thing to see of course was the BMW i8 and here it is oh my gosh and look what's next to it do you guys remember this right here we'll get to that in a minute do the i8 you skinny remember no matter about that well over a year ago rich came here to see a BMW i8 yeah let's turn the corner and see I don't think it's nice you have no clue cos it's not even better dude that video was big they probably sold it already rich I can't even believe what I'm seeing dude look at this so man I saw this car before rich saw a year ago so that was at least a year and a half ago when I saw it first dude this thing has had like two birthdays hair ready probably and I saw when it wasn't this dirty it has a color-changing rap on I remember that yeah something along lines of this is a car that was damaged and it's a rejected repair so the owner didn't like the repair I mean that's what it was labeled but this hasn't officially even gone online and you could see every single time I say this there's an inch or a couple inches thick of dust on it but it's just getting worse unfortunately he's insane man and stuff like this happens at the salvage auction when basically paperwork and titles get tied up through this Hertz am it really does you think that someone would just say enough is enough already but sometimes enough isn't enough and then things go on and paperwork gets tied up with titles and you literally have what was well over a hundred thousand dollars new turn here into a pile of dust and rich it this placing rich came here with the intentions of buying this car a year ago he came here to check it out and still here he bought a different one at this point here's what a different one fixed it and I've been driving it from one Snapple which I've you know riches channel rich rebuilds he doesn't rebuild a lot of stuff so I'd say you know this is well this has fuel in it but it's also very much an electric car so how does it affect a car like this so this is even worse because this has gasoline and lithium-ion batteries so pretty much this gas sitting in the back was a three cylinder engine in the back that has a gasoline a gas tank that's been sitting for a number of years so that gases that be bad and then right in the middle between the in the passenger compartment there's a small lithium-ion batteries considering for two years to and those can't sit for too long depending on the state of charge and how long that's been sitting for if it's it's that to Mobil voltage is pretty much dead if it sits too high it's been in the Sun same bad thing could happen so this could literally need a battery replacement at this point and what do you have any idea cuz you did build one but you didn't have any battery troubles give any idea what the battery replacement is I have no idea well I'll tell you right now in an active hybrid 7 Series which is also a hybrid car and it's a BMW I don't know it's five figures I think we're talking twelve thirteen fifteen thousand just with a part right so I gotta imagine it's in the teens for this and unfortunately since this has been here when this came here this was shortly after the release of these cars when they were still six figures so considering that this car was well over a hundred thousand dollars in value when it probably showed up here this one in particular if it's got a title issue which I don't know if it's been sorted out yet it's it's got to be worth well under fifty grand in my opinion because you could pick up a used one with the clean tile for 50 grand and if it's got a battery issue it's basically been abandoned this car and even with what you're telling me at the right price it could be awesome because I don't think there's too many miles on it and heck if it needs a battery replacement might be expensive you'll have basically a brand new eye given that it's not just like a really dusty moldy mess inside at this point probably because if you look at the windows both index yeah so there's definitely dust and debris getting on the seats interior they're on both sides you have the most satisfying video ever just watching watching the auction person take a pressure washer and then just wash off the layers of dust onto this thing I'd love to see that rich is like a new tradition you come out for the concours and then we hit the concourse D Copart that's right and every year I'm consistently disappointed with what Sam tells me is actually hair versus what's really here so last year we had the i8 the i8 had no key this year he promised we'd see five tests as we saw - I am constantly disappointed every year and next year will be more yeah that is that is probably the truth yes before we came out here there was five Tesla's listed unfortunately three or four of those five are in the future sales which are all the way in the back because their hands off cars until they become for sale so rich I apologize but out of all the cars you saw here today excluding the Tesla because that's unfair for a guy like you that predominantly talks about Tesla's on their channel what did you like that you saw surprised you and it's probably not in your video but the hellcat yeah there was a super nice Hellcat out there looked immaculate I couldn't even tell if there was anything wrong with it and since you're considering straying away from V's that's right there's nothing better than going like the full opposite side but I want to know what your favorite car in this video was
