hey there my name is provis and welcome to more rebelling escalation custom scenarios though i am aware that there are now four official scenarios in the game we'll come back to these a little bit later once i've had a chance to practice some of them but uh yeah this sounds pretty exciting maybe next week we'll come back to some of that so as far as our custom scenario for the day we're gonna be trying out something called zombie apocalypse version 1.2 by jungq41 in 2031 a mysterious virus strikes hope city my team is going to investigate recommended to play on brutal take back all areas destroyed now the thing is if you read down here a bit more it does give you a couple of tips namely that you have to get construction workers and don't attack the zombies until you have a military otherwise they mostly leave you alone good too now let's go ahead and give this one a shot and sure i'll play it on brutal difficulty that's fine why not we're going to go ahead and bring a lot of death or i guess re-death to a bunch of zombillini's april 2031 mysterious virus let's start chopping wood and gathering loot and the local government has asked me to lead an operation to stabilize the region look at all the red around here i'm guessing these are all zones that are infested by zombos this actually kind of looks a little bit like they are billions doesn't it so we can't place an hq down here because it's already an embassy can't place in any of the red zones so i guess we'll have to place it right over here oh we also start off with the military unit interesting well i've seen explosion i think we have to go over here there's a lot of modifiers involved i'm not going to be reading all these because it takes too long and yeah we are definitely under attack but i can't see the insurgents anywhere which means they have the modifier on where they are basically invisible well that's gonna be really fun to deal with all right so we'll take care of some of that nonsense so let's take a look at some of these initiatives and see what we've got over here so for civilians we have surveys what ask locals to answer surveys on what jobs they are interested in why oh okay for government we have anti-corruption we have police recruitment and martial law and then for military there's our only unit i don't see any others available zombie headshot training increasing social strength okay interpreters and guides and cave combat tactics which really is just clearing out the zombie nests um alright well if we're not supposed to attack the zombies and that pretty much leaves them alone then let's go ahead and start working on some basic initiatives like things like these construction workers and we also have mining deforestation and land rights how exactly does the hostile population mechanic work when they're zombies it's not exactly like you can win their hearts and minds but that'd be very interesting twist if it were the case i don't know we also have an oil derrick over here so that means as long as we keep this zone under control we should be getting a pretty good amount of extra cash hire tutors uh sure we can roll out some initiatives there it's fast at least that's something um let's go for a level of policing just because i feel like people are gonna want that to defend themselves and frankly if you only have one military unit and the zombies do start shuffling in we're gonna wish that we had some uh police in order to help fight them back at least a bit so we'll do that i'm just trying to get support level up as fast as we can universal justice seems like a pretty obvious one i imagine we want to get ourselves a little bit of anti-corruption go ahead and start burning that down was that effective procurement it was we should probably go ahead and get that first uh which just reduces how much corruption we get in the first place usually that's available right from the get-go not sure why it was locked behind anti-corruption level one but it was oh well that's fine so um we have people taking surveys and then working in construction crews let's go for some land rights i guess what do people want jobs land rights count that's fine yeah i'm glad i picked that up maybe we should stabilize all of these zones first and then we take the push to the zombies but here's the thing right usually from having this many connected zones you start losing tons of reputation i'd be inclined to think you need to run in there it just said that if you do that the zombies will attack construction sites provide construction workers with temporary shelters and make construction work easier significantly increase the support level seems good i guess i guess we'll go for deforestation what's this constructions okay hang on that leads to dirt roads oh that seems important i mean we need better roads in order to go and attack the zombos right that so yeah we're gonna need to get roads i don't know i mean the thing is like i think there's only two zones i control right now that even have dirt roads no three i take it back fine but like how useful is that really when you think about it i don't know we don't need more anti-corruption right now um we do need to go for things like zombie headshots but probably only when i'm actually going for the attack what's this wires electricity and telecoms okay concrete why are these all like separate initiatives is there is there anything to do except just sit here and make money like is there any reason to go and attack right now i'm not feeling under the pressure as far as reputation so far anyway um i don't have the ability to get more units if i attack we get attacked but so far leaving the zombies unprovoked is working out well for me and i'm just sitting here making money like is there any reason to go and attack that's my question and the answer is i don't know uh let's go ahead and start working on the dirt roads and we can go for that level two if we wanted let's get looters that leads to nurse uh which is probably good for some tiny bit more support level sure why not look how many initiatives are rolling out right now it's great protest over lack of basic services what are you talking about we can get jobs over here anytime you want i literally already gave you land rights go and claim your land and then do something with it god it's not up to me to make all your jobs what do you think this is a centralized economy doctors i mean my support level is not that great still despite all the effort we're putting into this let's get concrete oh hello okay we found some more stuff development bank roads yes we're gonna need roads where we're going we do need roads so has anything unlocked here oh it has barracks hello build military camps to train soldiers yes yes oh gosh okay finally we found a way to get military units okay okay now i feel like maybe we can attack some zombos especially if i'm surrounded by this many garrisons but again i have to ask the question why where is the sense of urgency in this scenario if i'm actively not losing any support at all no reputation loss zilch nada it's a little bit weird am i right what's this quarantine stations makes people unhappy because nobody likes a quarantine uh make it harder for zombies to take control probably is a good idea actually but we'll worry about that later let's go ahead and get some highways going just because i do think it's worth just getting the basics you know get all those roads going when we do want to set up we want to have some combat bonuses and all these territories as well as just be able to relocate really quickly uh let's see pipes water treatment stations telecoms would probably be pretty decent yeah let's go ahead and pick that up just because obviously the more zones that have it the more support level we're gonna be gaining this zone is surprisingly going to be happy with me very very quickly some of these guys not so much we already have education initiatives why aren't you happy hang on we'll get some more there you go yeah see you're stable perfect all right does this get me extra income i didn't get to choose my advisors but maybe we get extra income from stable zones i have no idea teaching camps all right faster rollout no one cares um could get more garrisons i'm instead gonna go ahead and start working on training up some national soldiers let's just get this process going it takes a long time anyway we got the money for it so let's just go ahead and get started while i just sit back here and smoke a cigar or two and tell a long-winded tale to my children's children and something you know before you know it i'm retired and i'm passing this on to somebody else because we sat here for years i'm just saying i'm obviously not going for a very high score here now am i nope oh oh now insurgency is rumored okay wait does this mean i'm about to start losing a frick ton of reputation hold on wait you may have bamboozled me local guilds uh no change in support but reputation increases okay uh ex explodes explosive trenches kill large groups of zombies when destroyed i'm guessing this is mostly when garrisons are destroyed though i could certainly be wrong on that point let's get the zombie headshot uh headshot training that seems like something we're going to end up needing don't know where the zombies are going to be if this reputation plummets like a freaking rock then i know we're going to have a problem yeah the zombies are now active okay some insurgent activity got it um let's go ahead hang on what other what else can we get zombie traps faster training speed seems like it oh there we go done hey all right everyone go we're gonna get them let's go get those zombies get them what's this zombie soldiers employ well-trained zombie fighters see i thought we were just about to employ some zombies but okay zombie experts freaking heck that's a lot of support level all right an able coalition to train international soldiers help build structures decrease soldier training time and increase support 39 39 monies is what we're gonna need there yikes all right insurgent activity is starting to ramp up looks like they are actually attacking me in some of my own zones here now okay hang on we gotta pay attention to this because remember we can't see these guys on the map so some of my zones could get under attack and i might not even notice which would obviously be very very bad very very bad um do you want more garrisons meh i could go for more coalitions i could instead get national arms upgrades this seems like something i really want though look how much support level that is 39 bucks though that's expensive dude i can't afford that coalition deployment over soon that's even a thing in a zombie apocalypse how would that be insurgent camps wait a minute when did the zombies start to organize i don't know we're gonna go ahead and just whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa well i regret this decision i just lost 100 reputation frick dude i i thought that was going to say lose 10. we just gained 20 fortunately for taking this area back from the zombies but holy crap you can't do things like that to me all right let's go ahead and get the zombie experts massive support level um all right we also apparently get a attachment we'll attach you here i guess and it looks like we are attaching another unit who's already got some stuff that's cool wait a minute hey whoa hey that's not it was a soldier icon right well i'm confused okay well anyway um let's go ahead and start pushing our way against some of the zombies wait are we under attack here we are whoa whoa wait never mind never mind never mind get back up over here get back over here they're destroying with stuff and i can't let them do that also how do we get a garrison i don't know but we did right more national soldiers sure they train instantly well that's a good sign anyone else under attack that i can't see i probably shouldn't have these guys on the front line that would be really bad okay so we have attacked and we won over here let's see if he can get down this way get some strength behind these guys i'm a little bit concerned tax networks sure why not gain money yeah i gained corruption what of it who cares i'm corrupt as heck uh we want to get anti-corruption level two actually it is a little bit high but getting that uh getting that 39 thing was apparently pretty pricey so we need intelligence in order to even fight these guys but there we go at least we have lots of reinforcements and these guys can't retreat worth anything so that's a good sign at the very least okay local sediments leading to a job boost um we are definitely losing a bit of a reputation still we need to try how do we want to do this i guess if they can't retreat well now we mostly want to just get like the roads and stuff figured out first right yeah maybe what if we try to get over to the main roads and just start splitting these guys off so insurgent activity isn't quite as significant maybe i absolutely regret going losing a hundred reputation on a single coalition soldier like that's just ridiculous can we even get foreign relations no of course we can't which makes sense but still um right so there's nothing we can do here except for counter-strike or publicly accused which never works all right counter-strike it is all right this is gonna be really hard to fight apparently um oh god there's no good way to do this we have to kind of just pick a front and go for it i think yeah we can't win that as it's currently designed all right forget that back off over there um crud of course that loses me some very valuable um some very valuable reputation right now so okay tell you what instead of doing what we're doing right now we're gonna go ahead and just start pushing wherever i can get the most reinforcements and we're not gonna do this the way we normally would let's say we can still win a fight over here no problem though heck yes rural specialists are great more garrisons wouldn't be a bad idea as well but it looks like we should be able to set those up i think we get one every time we destroy a camp coalition surge or national surge sure very significant increase in corruption worth it 100 worth it if i get to have all these extra units yeah let's just start slowly clearing them out clockwise style or counterclockwise you get the point let's go ahead and do that we'll be fine probably maybe i don't know the coalition soldiers seem really weak if i'm being completely honest um i kind of want to get zombie soldiers but that's 34 bucks let's go for more garrisons i guess we can place one down here i need six bucks and we can do that in a minute there you go let's go ahead and do that and hope that helps a little bit doesn't seem to help that much at all okay uh yeah the coalition soldiers are terrible but we'll see what happens here the problem is because we have no intelligence we take the zone instantly and then we lose it instantly because it turned out there were actually a load of zombies why aren't you able to reinforce these guys because you're trying to get more intelligence well let's go ahead and get interpreters and guides let's go for combat reinforcements we actually can get a little bit more power over here and we're just waiting to get intel in this zone then these guys will be able to support you are going to go over here i guess i think we're gonna lose this because i made a mistake with coalition soldiers but we've learned a little bit uh mainly for the love of god do not re-enlist these people let's go for a shared air force that's usually pretty good right and let's also go ahead and clear out some of the caves make sure we can finish this off nice and fast so that they can reinforce we're learning a bit about some of these zones that's good there's plenty of large ambushes not far away uh there is something we can do if i go for martial law that buys me at least a tiny bit of time tank depot was destroyed there was a tank depot oh my experts are under attack how wait no how i have troops here able to fight how are you under attack all right you go home you're terrible [Music] oh and they become national soldiers when they leave well then clearly i should have just been getting coalition soldiers okay we've learned things there's apparently a specific type of build order you need to do let me get back up to this point okay this time i let the guy go home so i now have plenty more reputation to work with and i was able to train my national soldiers let me get an extra one just for the fact that he left okay now we can start training up some coalition troops specifically with the intent of letting these guys retire somewhere nice and safe and then we're gonna be fine let's get up over here and send you guys down over here i guess and then maybe move you over i don't know how about how about right here sure seems completely fine okay so yeah we got this under control i'm just going to start well wait my construction crews no they're they're going to die oh no well they're dead couldn't get over here fast enough why are my roads so bad i had most of this stuff really well connected they should have been fine ah whatever i wasn't really using those guys anyway right pretty sure right yeah anyway uh healthcare is desired sure we'll also get some roads and stuff i mean at this point we should be able to play this mostly as normal it's just we're not losing a stupid amount of reputation for the fact that they have so many connected zones apparently no one thinks poorly of me just because there's a ton of zombies by the way coalition soldiers are actually garbage for some reason i don't know why but they just are uh let's see what else we want to do well let's see more anti-corruption don't think i need it at this point let's go ahead and start working on some additional roads and i'm gonna go ahead and have you retreat and go somewhere else and you're just gonna play support while someone else goes and does all the job yeah we're gonna lose two reputation over here what of it i don't even care man this guy exists for a purely supportive role all right emotional support he's my emotional support coalition soldier that's pretty much it unless we're under attack over here which we are all right let's go ahead and have him move over here at least these guys seem a little bit faster but look how much stronger the national soldiers are it's just kind of backwards from what it normally would be you know it's just a little bit wonky anyway apparently anti-ied vehicle upgrades are needed okay yeah that'll be very effective against zombies you know what's really good against zombies just freaking like put a lawn mower on the front of your truck and drive dude and don't i don't even feel bad about it they're zombies what am i supposed to do feel guilty ridiculous let's get over here and provide some support because once again these guys can't do anything on their own apparently i'm gonna move you over here actually since you can provide support to both of these guys simultaneously you go ahead up you can't leave why not okay tank depot is destroyed over here there definitely is still a tank depot why can't you leave no idea well we can deploy more national soldiers because apparently the author of the scenario wanted you to have way too much fun militarily speaking so okay i might as well just cover half the map and soldiers and stuff this is gonna lead to some sort of dystopian society or anything at all definitely not we've already got martial law as an option uh let's see i'm gonna go ahead and move you over here uh we'll have to do counter strikes who's supporting the zombies can someone explain who is supporting the zombies i i feel like that's something that should be removed also we're under attack over here again good lord what is wrong with you guys uh can we get some faster travel speed yes please let's do that okay we have more camps oh and more caves and everything also an urban specialist for all the good that's going to do me okay sure why not yeah i mean this is just kind of a weird scenario it's not that it's bad it's just that it's it's bizarre it's not quite what i might have expected under normal circumstances coalition soldiers are awake you have to follow kind of a specific uh type of build order it's just a little weird that's all i'm saying all right that doesn't mean it's bad not by a stretch uh make these guys stronger with auto turrets sure why not and also more soldiers because i mean you can never have enough right let's go and pop these guys over here we're gonna stop attacking the garrisons well garrisons ain't done nothing to deserve your hatred you stupid zombos and yes by the way we definitely do get a garrison whenever we destroy a camp i did notice that uh let's see insurgents are targeting ancient sites yeah let's shame let's shame thee no we're gonna deploy the military yeah we can shame zombies though that totally makes sense 100 the zombies feel shame oh no i'm bad brains i'm just saying kind of funny right uh let's go and set up a garrison over here might as well and yeah we could roll out civil assistance and stuff but like i don't think the zombies are gonna do much hello where'd you get a rogue outpost this is what's blocking the peace process are you saying if we destroy this we'll be able to make peace with the zombies it doesn't make sense it's probably not true either but it wouldn't make sense even if it did let's go and get some roads some pipes some blah blah blah blah blah these caves are just constantly spawning out more let's go ahead and i guess move you here move you here move you here and you over here there we go sure why not and yeah we should go ahead and just get civil assistance since peace is not possible and they apparently can spawn camps randomly we should just go ahead and make sure that we can uh get these zones green fast but with this many units it shouldn't be that hard right counter strike again gosh dang it i just want to know who's supporting zombies come on man why you got to be an enemy of humanity like that which doesn't make sense don't do it don't do it oh let's see what else we want to do well let's go ahead and get the combat reinforcements and stuff uh we probably could be getting things like the zombie soldiers i'm going to relax the rules who's going to complain there are no civilians over here so like it's no one can get angry with me for oh i lost a national soldier oh i didn't know that that was a thing okay hang on sorry you can lose units in this right that's probably one of these modifiers over here that i wasn't paying attention to that i should have got it let's go ahead and move you guys over here we'll go ahead and start working our way down this direction oopsies this almost vaguely looks like the radioactive symbol which is sort of appropriate i think for a zombie apocalypse i'm just saying isn't that kind of funny i think it's a little funny anyway uh let's see anything else you want to do yeah let's go over that civil assistance and then civil integration we were talking about that earlier that's a lot of zombies we're killing all we have to do is just technically take back all the zones that they're in right isn't that how this is supposed to work just take all of their zones and we immediately win maybe i found some more zombies it's because apparently they can sneak through tunnels there's a tunnel over here somewhere that i'm not aware of so they're moving around over here and i don't like it you are once again going to go home and you immediately turn into another national soldier which is a straight out upgrade for me weird just weird man it's just weird all right let's go ahead and move you here move you up here move you here i guess sure and all these guys can reinforce and we'll be fine yeah um not much else to do at this point i think i'm just going to go ahead and just jump forward a bit there we go all right this got a little bit annoying at some point um but we were able to handle it fine some camps popping up here and there and it turns out going into mountains with only two reinforcements is really really difficult to deal with but we've officially cleared these guys out from every single zone i also have a single camp over here we'll just go ahead and destroy that and get another 20 reputation right there boom 190 reputation ridiculous so does this mean i win pretty sure it means i win the irony here is i think i could literally just pull units back and forth and try to force the ai to keep spawning camps and maybe i could just farm out a ridiculous amount of reputation that way i mean i'm not going to wait hang on we just lost this zone hang on does this mean i'm about to get myself another 20 reputation could very well be that would just be a little bit cheesy if that's the case i'm kind of curious i don't know we're losing stability over here somehow i actually have no idea how we're losing stability over here what the heck is happening i think i somehow broke this scenario i'm not really sure what happened but for some reason this particular zone these two but this one eventually fixed itself this one just kept getting worse and worse i lost all supporters and was watching the hostile population go up and up and up for no reason as far as i can tell it's a little bit bizarre and i'm still not getting any real support here despite the fact that i am well over 100 percent in my support level so i have no idea why for some reason this one zone which is unafflicted by any problems would suddenly be having a lot of problems but there we go and now we're suddenly hitting critical mass what changed what happened here i don't know i think we just kind of brute forced it but all right there we go um it's an okay scenario yeah it's pretty good i think the idea of the zombie apocalypse is actually really cool don't get me wrong i think that the execution's a little bit bizarre only in the sense that there's really not a lot of different ways to approach this like there's kind of almost a specific build order you have to take in order to win this but nonetheless i appreciate what the author's trying to do and i have to say props for creativity absolutely so give it a thumbs up thank you all for
