pray before we continue in this topic father almighty will bless your name because you are mighty thank you father for your loving kindness your tender mercies thank you father for bringing us into our new year thank you father for your grace upon this mission thank you father for your grace upon every life's listening today lord place our separate thanks in the name of jesus daddy as we go ahead this year we pray that your spirits we go with us teach us enlighten our eyes of understanding in the mighty name of jesus we afraid amen just like we said earlier last week we treated the essence of praise the essence of praise and our memory verse was i will praise thee o lord with my all hearts i will show forth all thy wonderful works and that was found in psalm 9 verse 1. we treated two lesson outlines which were why should we praise god why should we praise god if we want our lives to be full of miracles and wonders you must praise god and the second lesson outline was acceptable praise what does it take to offer an acceptable praise to god even though god is universal for all mankind yet he has separated from those who draw near in holiness and repentance and number two for our praise to be acceptable is you and i must be a child of god today going further we have lesson two which is be thankful be thankful be thankful and our bible passage is taken from psalm 100 verse 1 to 5 psalm 100 verse 1-5 make a joyful noise unto the lord all ye lands serve the lord with gladness come before his presence with singing know ye that the lord is good it is he that has made us and not we ourselves we are his people and the sheep of his pasture enter into his game with thanksgiving and is called with praise be thankful unto him and bless his name for the lord is good his mercy is everlasting and his truth endure it to all generation a memory verse is taken from psalm 95 verse 2 psalm 95 verse 2 it says let us come before his presence with thanksgiving and make joyful noise unto him with sams let us come before his presence with thanksgiving and make a joyful noise unto him with sams to be thankful it literally means to be full of thanks or appreciation for what god has done for you for what god has done for your family or for the church it is an expression of gratitude to almighty god or to someone that did something very nice for you thankfulness in this context is an act of thanksgiving or a show of gratitude to god that is to be thankful in this context is an act of thanksgiving or show of gratitude to god though some people are ungrateful for various reasons we must not be ingrid because of his attendant dangers we have two lesson outlines the first is reasons and benefits of thanksgiving reasons and benefit of thanksgiving what are verse 8 and it says give thanks unto the lord call upon his name make known indeed among the people this is a command giving thanks to god is a command number two why must we give thanks to god believers requests should start and end with thanksgiving philippians chapter 4 verse 6 philippians chapter 4 verse 6 says that we should give we should pray unto god we should come before him with our supplication and at the end of it we should give him thanks philippians 4 verses be careful for nothing but with prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto god then why must we give thanks to god we thank god for victories over battles of life we thank god for victories over battles of life why must you and i give thanks to god it is important to thank god for his mercy and divine prohibition god daily load us with benefits according to psalm 68 verse 19 god almighty daily load us with benefits you wake up in the morning you open your eyes you could see that is a benefit you open your mouth you can speak that is a benefit you can eat you can drink that is a benefit you can walk on your two feet you can breathe in and out that is a benefit you call to god and he answered you that is a benefit god daily load us with benefit that is why we must give in thanks another reason why we must give thanks to god is thanksgiving is offer to god for his miracles and restoration of hope when anna receives somewhere from god in first samuel chapter two verse one to five first samuel chapter two verse one to five she returned in thanksgiving unto god she returned in turns giving unto god this was a woman who had been barren but she came to god she requested a request that was granted a request was granted and in return she gave thanks to god the last reason is the primary reason god created us in his image is for fellowship for thanksgiving for praise and joyful acts which is why you and i must give thanks to god according to isaiah chapter 43 verse 21 what then are the benefit of thanksgiving what are the benefit of thanksgiving thankful people receive answers to prayer like jesus christ in john chapter 11 verse 41 to 44 when he was standing by the gravesite of by the grave of lazarus first and foremost in look up to heaven he gave thanks to god he said father i thank you because you always hear me and what happened after that he said lazarus came comfort and one that was dead for four days came back to life another benefit of thanksgiving is thankful people enjoy abundant provision our lord jesus christ demonstrated this when in mark chapter eight versus eight marks chapter eight versus eight it was to feed thousands of people and they had just seven loaves of bread with few fishes what did he do he lifted it up to god according to the gospel of saint mark and he gave thanks and what was not enough become more than enough thankful people experienced deliverance from bondage it happened to paul and silas when they were in prison in acts chapter 16 verse 25 to 26 acts chapter 16 verse 25 and 26 they prayed and praised god and what happened there was a shaken there was an earthquake their chain was broken not just their chain but the chain of other prisoners were broken and the prison doors was open that means when we are thankful deliverance follows another benefit of thanksgiving is thankful people enjoy victory without a fight victory without a fight according to second chronicles chapter 21 chapter 20 verse 21 to 23 second chronicles chapter 20 verse 21 to 23. this was a story of elitsu jerusalem the inhabitant of jerusalem and judah and what happened they were faced with three great nations and god tell them just praise me they sang the goodness of god the mercy of god and god set ambushment against your enemy till all their enemy killed one another and none was left alive that means thankful people enjoy victory without a fight the second lesson outline says dangers of ingratitude dangers of ingratitude ingratitude is the result of vain imagination and a darkened act sometimes your thanksgiving is senseless to the ordinary person because it is more profitable to be thankful than to grumble or complain there are several reasons people are ungrateful to god some of the reasons are sin or spiritual blindness sin or spiritual blindness ephesians chapter 4 verse 17 and 18. ephesians chapter 4 verse 17 and 18 says the they are at we are ducking so if a person's heart is he will not see any reason to give thanks to god he will not have any reason to give thanks to god refusal to take account of what god has done refuse her to take account of what god has done romans chapter 1 verse 21 romans chapter 1 verse 21 emphasized that even the creators that manifested the and the work of god people were not acknowledging it they take it that it rains for fun the sun is shining for fun and so on then we also have pride according to acts chapter 12 verse 21 to 23 acts chapter 12 verse 21-23 spoke about the king herod who did not give glory unto god when the people praise him he was supposed to return it back to god but because he took it upon himself he was struck down by an angel of the lord and eaten up by one what then are the dangers of ingratitude number one risk of losing the existing blessing that means if you don't give thanks to god there is a risk of losing the blessing that you have the salvation that you have and you can as well lose heaven mate chapter 25 verse 24 to 25 and verse 30 talks of that servant that received one single talent but did not make use of it rather he went to bury it and what happened to him that particular talent was was collected from him and giving to another and he in turn was casted out another danger of ingratitude is limiting your blessing or you will have unanswered prayer limiting your blessing or you have an unanswered prayer luke chapter 17 verse 12 to 16 talks of ten lepers and only one return to give thanks to god and what did jesus say jesus said go and be made all another danger the last ninja year is it could result in emptiness and sorrow it could result in emptiness and sorrow then in summary every child of god should learn to be thankful so as not to be caught in the web of ungratefulness and its dangers showing of gratitude to god and she also continues divine presence and fellowship therefore my dear brothers and sisters take it to art today to give thanks to god on a daily basis for every good gift for every benefit you receive from god always give in thanks by giving thanks thanksgiving is an application for more from god and as you do that the lord we accept your thanksgiving in the mighty name of jesus shall we pray father almighty god we thank you for today's blessing and we bless your name father for every art of ingratitude that we have shown to you individually as a family as a church even as a nation please forgive us in the name of jesus and as your people repent today to start giving you thanks let the reward of thanksgiving be more in their life in the mighty name of jesus thank you father for hearing us blessed be your name in jesus name we the same and equally i want us to pray for our father in the lord that god will send him to you and to me shall we pray father almighty in the name of jesus i ask in your name that you will send your word today to all of us father without deception that the word of god will will back transformation in our lives that our lives will become better in the name of the lord jesus that what we do is good in the name of jesus father divine will commit our father into your hand as he open wide his mouth to defeat him in the name of jesus sent him to address specific needs in our lives in the name of jesus thank you asians of this in jesus name we pray eternally the heavens we want to bless the holy name almighty god we appreciate you for whom you are you are a good god you are a great god you are a caring father thank you father for another opportunity to come and listen to your word accept our thanks in jesus name we commit the service of today into your end we are saying oh god send your jesus we ask that fresh air be poured upon him in jesus name therefore we commit the service until end we said that that you alone can do be achieved in the lives of everyone that will connect with almighty god will take us higher more and we want to thank the lord for our father in the lord that the earth for releasing himself to be an instrument of glory in his hand god will continually keep you sir and anoint you fresh today is another day of serving the word of god and in the book of john chapter 6 verse 63 john 6 63 the word of the lord is a living word a living oracle is the living oracle the word of god according to 1st peter 1 23-25 first peter 1 23-25 the word of the lord is the medium where we are renewed and where we are strengthened and god is about to come your way again is the same word in genesis chapter 1 that brought light into existence genesis 1 3 let there be light and there was light so light is about to shine over your life so that you can climb higher and verse 30 6 first kings 18 verse 36 and it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice that elijah the prophet came near and said lord god of abraham isaac and of israel let it be known this day that thou art god in israel and that i am thy servant and that have done all these things at thy word last sunday when we were looking at this passage we looked at the god of abraham the god of isaac and the god of jacob today we want to go on [Music] to the next thing that elijah said let it be known this day that thou art god in israel and that i am [Music] thy servant if you want to give a subtitle to today's talk you probably want to say god manifest yourself god please manifest yourself prove yourself that you are god elijah was saying in his prayers lord god almighty proof yourself that you are who you say you are god of abraham prove yourself like you said in genesis 17 verse 1 to abraham genesis 17 verse 1 that's why jehovah else shall die the god who is more than enough prove yourself to be the almighty psalm 91 verse 1 psalm 91 verse 1 tells us that you are the most high and you are the almighty almighty means of course that there's nothing you cannot do jeremiah 32 27 jeremiah 32 27 says behold i am the god of all flesh is anything too hard for me to do god prove today that there's nothing too hard for you to do which is why i'm praying for all of you listening to me today that that god who can do anything will prove himself in your life and every impossibility in your life will become possible today prove yourself that you are the maker and controller of all things i mean for example in genesis chapter 1 verse 9 to 10 genesis 1 verse 9-10 it is recorded that you made the sea you are the creator of the sea and so you are the controller of the sea according to jupiter from verses to 11 job 38 from verse 8 to 11. you are the one to dc this is how far you can go you can go further when you get to the beach with your proud waves you just must recede job 38 from versus 11. and you proved that before in exodus 14 21-28 exodus 14 21-28 you told your servant to lift up his hand against the red sea and the rest he parted you proved yourself that you made the sea and you are the controller of the sea in genesis chapter 1 from verse 14 to 18 genesis 1 14 to 18 you created the sun and the moon the greater light to rule the day that the sun the lesser light to rule the night that's the moon you created both and you proved that you are the controller of both the sun and the moon because in joshua chapter 10 from verse 12 to 14 joshua 10 12 to 14 when joshua asked the sun to stay and the moon to remain stationary you brought it to pass you have proved it before but you are the maker of the sign the maker of the moon and you are the controller and we know in isaiah 38 from verse one to eight i started from verse one to eight that the almighty god can even ask the sun to go backward retrace its steps you are the almighty prove yourself and it is interesting that you will never find anywhere in the bible where he says god created fire he created land he created the sea he created animals he created birds he created everything there's nowhere where he said he created fire why not because he himself is fire you can create yourself bible tells us in clear times hebrews chapter 12 verse 29 hebrews 12 29 that our god is a consuming fire and i'm sure elijah must be telling god you are fire you have come down before in exodus chapter 3 from verse 1 to 6 exodus 3 1-6 when you wanted to speak to moses you came down as a fire burning in the bush and the bush was not consumed you have done it before and you have proved it again and again that you are the controller of fire one day through the the hebrew slaves into the fire shadrach meshach and abednego the fire didn't burn them and so elijah was saying to god you don't change you said through yourself exodus chapter 3 verse 14 you say i am that i am not i was not i will be but i am you don't change and in leviticus chapter 9 verse 8 to 24 leviticus 9 8 to 24 when aaron presented an offering before the almighty god he sent down fire to receive it so elijah was saying to god prove yourself do what you have done before you have sent down fire before to receive an offering do it again but then there is something even more serious in his prayer he said show this day not tomorrow prove yourself today that's your god in israel and i believe there's quite a lot for us to learn from that little bit of his prayer you see some miracles can wait for one year i mean in genesis chapter 18 from verse 9 to 14 genesis 18 9-14 when god himself decreed that sarah will have a son she had to wait for nine months before isaac showed up it was god who made the decree but the miracle took nine months i mean you have for the example second king chapter 4 verse 8-17 ii kings 4 8-17 elisha with his double anointing decreed that the shunammite woman will have a son and she had to wait for nine months for the miracle to come to pass so miracles can wait for a year so miracles can wait for a month in first semester 17 if you read it from verse 1 to 16 before continuing to 51 fourth summer 17 from verse 1 to 16 and then on to 51 you will see that goliath terrorized israel for 40 days before the miracle came so some miracles can wait for a month and i hope somebody is listening to me very closely because this is the very very crucial aspect of this message so miracles can wait for a week oh john chapter 11 you can read it from verse 1 to the end john 11 from verse 1 to the end la saros was sick they sent a message to jesus christ the one whom thou loveth is sick he heard he stayed where he was for another two days before he arrived by the time he arrived this fellow had been buried dead and buried four days the two days of waiting plus the four days of barrier because it was when he died that jesus said all right now this fellow is dead there are the days together you have six days at the very least and yet the miracle came some miracles can wait for one week so miracles can wait for 24 hours one day in second kings chapter seven second kings chapter seven from verse one to eleven second kings seven from verse one to eleven when there was a siege at samaria and elijah prophesied and said by this time tomorrow 24 hours from now on there will be abundance of food and nobody will want to buy everybody will just go and collect 24 hours 24 hours later what he prophesied came to pass so miracles can wait for 24 hours some miracles cannot wait it has to be now prove yourself now that's what elijah will say i'm standing alone before this angry crowd 450 [Music] prophets of bear ready to take me to pieces god you better do something now when david ran to meet goliath if he has missed that first two if that festoon had missed the mark we won't be telling the story we are telling now when in matthew chapter 14 when peter was walking on water to go and meet the lord jesus christ and then he began to sink and he cried to god and said help if jesus christ said i will don't worry so your miracle can come tomorrow the story we are telling now will be a different one when shadrach meshach and abednego landed in the very fullness if god was not there already instantly to take care of their situation the story will be different in mark chapter 10 verse 46 to 52 mark 10 46-52 when jesus was passing by and batman began to cry for help the reason he didn't keep quiet is because he knew it is either now or never so i'm asking somebody this sunday when do you want your miracle because you can wait next year god will still be on his throne you can wait for a month you see a miracle working god you can't even wait next sunday can come after one week so miracles must happen immediately immediately prove yourself now when it is time to pray that should be your prayer today god i know you are the controller of times and seasons i know with you all things are possible but this very day you must answer me now that's why when in genesis 32 when all of a sudden an angel appeared to jacob and started wrestling with him and the angel said let me go because the sun is breaking if the sun is going to break it will break with the two of us here because if you don't answer me now by tomorrow i'll be dead so miracles can't wait some miracles can wait i pray for every one of you listening to me today that god will give you the grace to hold tight to god in prayer until he answers you today prove yourself o lord this day that's what elijah said if the fire did not fall that moment that would have been the end of the story for elijah and then he went on to say prove to these people that i am your servant prove to these people i am your servant give me your backing that's what he was saying you know many of us are serving god in spirit we are serving him in truth there's nothing wrong in asking the almighty god to say prove to the world that i'm sincerely serving you proof to the world prove to those who are asking where is my god show them you are right behind me give me your backing prove it lord elijah was saying give me your backing like you gave to moses exodus chapter 3 verse 7 to 12. exodus 37-12 when you sent moses to go and bring the children of israel out of egypt almighty god you told him i will be with you and you are with him prove yourself give me your backing the way you give it to joshua in joshua chapter one from verse one to eight joshua one one two eight you told joshua as i was with moses so will i be with you now you were with moses you were with joshua be with me prove yourself give me your backing let these people know that everything i'm doing is for your glory in isaiah chapter 61 from verse one to three isa 61 from verse one to three it is written to give me beautiful ashes it is so that you might be glorified lord why am i asking you to prove yourself in my life today is so that you might be glorified it's not because of me elijah was saying lord god almighty the reason we are having all this competition is because of you because of you i want you to pray today like you've never prayed before tell the almighty god i am nothing if i'm put to shame that's nothing that you cannot afford to be put to shame you are the almighty and the old world knows that i am called by your name prove yourself so that you might be glorified i have a deep feeling within me if you really call on him today he will answer you but you can ask him to prove himself if you don't belong to him you cannot ask him to come and prove himself when you belong to the other camp he can only prove himself on behalf of those who are his children that's why if that is the only reason why you must give your life to jesus christ do so now it is only when you belong to him that you can call him upon him to prove himself so let's bow our heads if you are anywhere listening to me and you want to be able to say to god that before the son says today i want a testimony then surrender your life to jesus now now let us pray call on him if you are giving your life to him to please have mercy on you to forgive your sins to save your soul to become your lord your savior to receive you into his family so that whatever concerns you from now we concern him because you are now his child call on him to save your soul he is willing to do so if you sincerely want to say bye bye to a life of sin so call on him now for a moment or two and i will pray with you for your salvation thank you father my father my god i want to say thank you for your word thank you for all those who have made up their mind that from this moment of what they want to belong to you body soul and spirit remember your promise lord that whosoever will come unto you you will no wise cast out please lord receive these people save their souls forgive all their sins let your blood wipe away their sins receive them into the family of god and from now anytime they call on you please answer them by fire daddy i am praying on behalf of all your children all over the world particularly do so forth oh i need of your help or gently oh father answer us today give us our miracles today not tomorrow before the sun says today give us our miracles and we will glorify your name lord in jesus mighty name we have prayed amen amen amen praise the lord now those of you who have given your life to jesus i congratulate you i want to assure you from now on i'll be praying for you that's why i will need your names your address and your prayer requests so that i can be praying for you and i will advise you to locate the nearest redemption church of god to you and as a pastor there that i sent you and including myself god indeed will manifest himself in your life in the name of jesus and i know that one area that many of us need god to manifest ourselves in the area of our finances we read in that first kings chapter 18 verse 38 the fire of the lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice when god accepts your sacrifice he has accepted you and when god accepts you he grants you access to what belongs to him so i believe that today there's an offering in your hand and you want to give that offering to the almighty god joyfully so that god can grant you access the one who controls the entire world can grant you access to what he has created take up a good offering this day and let's appreciate god without offering as we bring it joyfully before him remembering that god loves a cheerful giver and also believing that as we give god because men to give to our bosom in the name that is above every other name lift up your offering as i pray father in the name of jesus we just ask that you will confirm your word today show yourself prove yourself manifest yourself in our entire life manifest yourself in our finances even as you accept this seed that we have brought today in the name of the father the son and the holy spirit thank you blessed father in jesus name we have prayed if you look on the screen for those of us who want to give online you will see the information that you marital or foreign even earthwise in every area that will call upon your name manifest your power in the name of jesus let it be known that you are the mighty god in jesus name let it be known that you can still bring fire down to consume every consumables in our lives in the name of jesus and whatever be the difficulty of our lives the challenge of our life the impossibility of our life
