with all your help we can do it together and then we'll just be good it'll be great we have a chance to make history [Music] in 2008 the Baltimore Ravens not only made history they forged a new identity answering any question about just who this teen water by combining equal parts traditional defensive dominance with found offensive explosiveness and the - of special teams of groupings the Ravens had a season that was beyond oil The Raven set a new standard for wins by a team for the first year headphone be back it all culminated with an improbable run in the playoffs [Music] Brown is it Billo season on opening day the Ravens wasted little time showing their fans that this season would be different first down and around [Music] Joe Flacco renowned for his arm strength showed off one of his lesser-known skills [Music] about the only thing fans in Baltimore love more is defense and in week 3 the Ravens reminded their faithful that they still possessed one of the league's most dominant deeds it loose ball lit up by Ray Lewis [Music] reach [Music] pick six hops [Music] at two and oh the Ravens were off to the start they were hoping for it but over the next three weeks three win [Music] place football today but it's presto [Music] to the tag [Music] as the defense delivered the first touchdown of the game offensive coordinator cam camera and watched as it improved Ravens averaged over 30 points per game now it's six and three they were in position to make a run at the postseason the ravens playoff which began when they hosted coach John Harbaugh as former team the Steelers the Ravens traveled to Dallas for the final game at Texas Stadium Baltimore had every intention of spoiling the far an injured shoulder had sidelined Derek Mason early but he returned in time to give the Ravens first touchdown of the game until touchdown Derrick the Ravens were coming into a two-point lead late in the fourth quarter when an unexpected explosion came from the Baltimore them just one win away from a playoff berth I've never been proud of a bunch of guys we got a bunch of men in here that did something special we close this thing out in style did we not have a regular season finale the standing between the Ravens and the playoffs where the Jacksonville Jaguars mr. darcy's now that's going to these playoffs thumping babe hey let's ball out baby how personal is this the Ravens personal mission spearheaded by their two offensive leaders Ray Lewis recovered two fumbles while it reads two interceptions gave him only time nine for the season [Applause] the PCs achieved a personal milestone by going over the 10,000 yard mark for his career the Ravens then put the game away on the ground with their 11th win of the season Baltimore clinched the AFC's sixth and final playoff spot and following the game the Ravens were addressed by director of player development OJ Brigance whose fight against ALS inspired the team all season we all know where this started in training camp all right start with a talk by OJ Brigance so listen up here Oh J amen first of all what job we talked about doing something that no one could ever be not firms here goes nothing you uh started out as a defensive struggle just the Chi the Ravens life [Music] they can't make enough wait until you get out okay [Music] team turnovers in the regular season even dressed [Music] six of the Ravens have their first lead of the game and the turnovers kept on coming [Music] [Music] the Ravens made the Dolphins pay for their mistakes to me touchdown for the Victrola runs it the haze in the the Ravens would be going up against the AFC's top seed the Tennessee type but the Titans had something else on there by scoring others second possession of the game tell me tell me man no time to back beep far sideline he's got Mason to the 10 5 [Music] by Joe Flacco [Music] for the second time this season the Ravens were in for a battle against the AFC's top team [Music] so it's hurt charles down right in front of us near if it's not moving his right arm at all as was the case all season when one raven went down others stepped up [Music] [Music] that's left down near sideline oh hey without fog lights coming the way by clay as quiet the rate of Tapley pick us up [Music] we gotta go there's a hell go we gotta go boys biggest [Music] irska tights territory it [Applause] [Music] [Music] as his 13 [Music] we do yes the Ravens are going to the AFC title game it's celebration city of the Raven sideline never seen anything like it guys we're going down left and right and guys were stepping up left and right there has been a part of anything like it for the Ravens to make it to their second Super Bowl in franchise history they would have to do something they hadn't done twice previously defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers they can be burly going it didn't look promising for bulky [Music] Pittsburgh jumped out too give up jeez enough it doesn't get much harder than this [Applause] the Ravens never-say-die attitude started to pay off McGahee the answer [Music] right side chef detective walks into a touchdown so the raisins have taken a two-point ballgame third and 13 huge huge play for Joe Flacco on the offense [Music] I'm gonna throw has time buyers in a second [Applause] made this disappointment a season that started as the great unknown before you feel too awfully bad [Music] in 2008 it was a season that started with more questions than answers but as it unfolded Green Raven was born [Music] Baltimore's showed it could be more than one of the league's top defenses offensive stars emergency the other side of the wall the wave ins continued their tradition of having one of the leaves stingiest units by sending members of the defense to the in his rookie season folks John Harbaugh guided the Ravens back to the glory of seasons past and find the team whose eye we'll never be in question what's on

The beginning of an era. Who’da thunk a rookie head coach and small school QB would get us as far as we did. 3 AFC championships in 5 years, 2 of which were lost in the last minutes/seconds and one Super Bowl. Really hope Harbs get one more to cement himself into the HOF.
