but we came to celebrate her life today are we gonna celebrate her every memory she had every memory that you have for her just remember it she may not be here but you will see her again and all we good afternoon everybody mike we just put our hands together today we are celebrating the life of young ravens we are celebrating [Applause] at this time giving honor to god to pastor lions and pastor williams the family would have me to thank each and every one of you for your many phone calls your cards your text messages most of all they would have me to thank you for your prayers continue to pray for them and continue to pray with them we do have a card to be read and it says let the love all around you and the love within you soothe your grief and pain lifting you up at this sad time [Music] with deepest sympathy curtis and shirley cunningham the bible says to be absent from this physical body is to be in god's presence just know that she is in the presence of our lord and on behalf of the management and staff for the j.m wilkerson funeral establishment if we could offer you any words of encouragement today would simply be the words of a song that song says because he lives you're going to be able to face tomorrow because he lives all your fears will be gone because we know who holds the future and life is worth the living just because jesus lives god bless you family [Applause] good afternoon first i want to say um to the family on behalf of the class of 2009 phf that you all have our deepest condolences um this has been a rough week all around um i'm gonna ask our classmates to stand up if y'all would i have been wrecking my brain since i got the news to try to figure out um what to say i really didn't have too much to say um when i found out i just kept saying no not reading and not raving um and then i started thanking my man went back to our senior leader we had a project um that miss walker gave us and it was our deepest fears and i stood up to talk and i said you know as class president my biggest fear was to have to experience something like this when it came to our class because our class was so knit tight and loving and you know you just never want to see somebody that you love hurt or come on um but i was there reminded um of joke and what i will say is i've never said where you have said i've never been and i know you've heard people say it all the time god makes no mistakes but what i will say is though he slayed me yet would i trust him yet what i trust him please please please if you all as a family need anything um anything even if it's just prayer please let us know um our class has your back um i've seen raven once since we graduated once only once and i seen her with her daughter and the first thing she said was this is my baby girl so baby she was so proud of you and to have you so take silence in it and be strong and her sisters i know you know she loved her sister i remember the first the first conversation we ever had the first thing she said was you know my sister's coco and i was like don't show so because i couldn't believe it i had met them but i had never met raven but after that i had never seen her without one of them so even to her sisters you know you have a whole class that stand behind you we love y'all anything that y'all need just let us know thank you [Applause] [Music] i just want to say that foreign i love you [Music] and i'm going to miss you [Music] and i'm just going to dedicate this to her because and had a good time [Music] because the lord is [Music] he helps has endured a whole lot tonight this week and nothing i can say or do will change god's mind because god's mind has already been made up he's done what he promised us that he would do that he would come back one day and receive us unto ourselves and the truth of the matter is that today is really not for even but it's for us that are left behind amen amen it's for us to get us prepared for our day and i know it hurts i know it hurts but i'm a little witness that god will take the pain out of the pain that he will take the hurt out of the heart but how do you know i just funeralized my mother three weeks ago and i'm here to tell you that he's a king brother and i know you feel like you can't go home but you can make it you can make it i'm attempting to sing this song is requested [Music] [Music] i can't say [Music] [Music] i'm stronger i'm wiser i'm better much better when i look back overall you brought me through i realized that [Music] without [Music] [Music] never [Music] i would have lost my mind i would [Music] i'm stronger anybody stronger anybody wiser anybody better much better [Music] she made it raven made it she made it yes she did she made it she made it she made it all no more ups and downs no more turn around she made it she made it she made it she made it and i could see her dancing in heaven she made it i said she loved her daughter but she made it she did she made it yeah yeah and look at your name and say neighbor you gonna make it you gonna make it yes lord you're gonna make it you're gonna make it you're gonna make it we're gonna make it we're gonna [Music] is [Music] [Music] never could have made it [Music] for me [Music] my brothers and sisters out there now me before you alone but i just want to encourage you today not gonna be deep and not be all extra but i just want to keep it simple and plain to let you know that god is still good and god is still in control and even in this god still gets the glory he still gets the glory and my brothers and sisters this seems to be the meeting place this seems to be the place that we meet at least two or three times a week um every time you turn around somebody that we know or somebody that we love uh has gone on before and so often we want to say pause them but how do you know it's not poor raven but it's poor us raven is going on to a land of no more ups and downs no more turnaround no more dealing with trifling folk no more dealing with faithful no more dealing with saudi folk but she is in a place of no more it is for us because we're left behind to deal with this pandemic to deal with wishy-washy people to deal with family and so-called friends but i'm here to tell you that even in the midst of this i know people are gathering around you now i know people say that if you need anything just call them but can i let you know that after today everybody is going back to that separate quarter everybody is going back to their own home and you may not see nobody else until somebody else goes home to be with the lord but i recommend a man named jesus but they said i will never leave you nor will i forsake you and family i'm not gonna tell you not to cry i'm not gonna be so religious and so deep to tell you not to cry go ahead and cry and get it out because jesus even cried at the passing of his best friend elijah but i'm here to tell you that if you die in christ you've got something to look forward to your life and i believe that raymond died in christ and those of us that are left behind the alarm is sounding off it is time for us to get our house in order amen it's time for us to get our fans in order and notice i said it's time for us to get our house in order so often in this life we try to get other folk house in order when our house is torn from the flow up how do you know that you got to sleep around your own front door before you try to sweep around somebody else and some of y'all sitting up in here now think that you already got a reserved seat in heaven i know we say savior see for me but how many you know that you can't save a seat for nobody you got to work out your own soul salvation and pass the lions if i can be real dealing with black folk you know how black folk do i give you something today and i'll take it back for tomorrow but i want to earn my own seat in heaven and let me pause right here to let y'all know some of y'all think y'all going to heaven because you go to church every sunday because you usher on the usher board because you sang in the choir because you're part of a trusty boy let me tell you attending church and go get you into heaven your name on somebody wrong is not gonna get you into heaven but what gets you into heaven is a right relationship with jesus christ y'all yeah yeah i know i need some of your man because some of y'all got nothing but religion and for these 18 months the doors of the church have been closed and you can't get in there and holler and shout speak in tongues and then get out and cuff somebody out but where am i focused they got a relationship with god they can say pastor i know it hurts but though he slayed me yet will i trust him for the good lord give it and the good lord taketh away so if you want to honor raven's life if you want to see her again you got to know who jesus is you got to know who the man is you ain't got to walk around with the bible in your hand you ain't got to walk around with the cross around your neck but you got to know him in your heart you got to accept him as your lord and danger and your personal savior because all of us have got an appointment with death hello y'all all of us got an appointment with death ready or not here i come and let me i don't understand how somebody chooses to live their life why does it bother you so badly how somebody choose to live their life why you got so much to say if you don't like it don't talk about it but pray for them if you don't like it don't tell mine praying for it if you don't like it don't send rumors text messages just pray for it because the bible says all of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of the lord even with my preaching self sometimes i fall short but when i fall short god don't throw me away god still cleans me up and don't you aren't you glad that god don't treat you like some of these negroes treat you hello somebody you know how soft do you love they deal with you today and then tomorrow they don't want to deal with you they have been with you when certain folk ain't around but when certain folk is around they love you and all of that stuff baby don't talk to me if you don't like me don't talk to me if you want to be knowledgeable but i'm here to tell you that raven is all right y'all and if you love raven gabba around her baby let her know that everything is going to be all right and i know fort wayne though how she not knowing ain't worried about how she died just though it was her time and god came with god in the third come about all of that on you ain't going nowhere until god gets ready in her little time here on earth she did more than some of y'all grown old folk enough it says raising love for love for and we need to get to a place that we love folk without mistake see we love folk because what they can do for us and what they can get out of us but raising love for ravens are the best in everybody because she knew that she wasn't a saint she knew that she wasn't perfect she knew that if somebody loved me i got to love somebody else and i'ma let you go with this people who are not in tune with them people who are in tune with them they don't waste their life people that are in tune with death they don't waste their life because tomorrow ain't promised to them people that are in tune with death they don't waste their life so if you want to see raven again you got to forgive who you got to forgive life is short stop walking around holding a grudge even in your own family you mad at some don't even know why are you mad you need to hug who you need to hug some folk don't need your advice they just need a hug every now and then you need to love who you need to love and sometimes you got to love the hell out of folks sometimes because some people make it hard for you to love them but you got to love them anyhow and then you got to say what you got to say you got to go ahead and say what you got to say stop walking around being so petty stop walking around boys so lugia stop walking around being so trifling stop walking around being so rude and disrespectful to everybody baby live your best life and i'm gonna say this and i'm gonna let y'all go i ain't going back and forth with none of y'all because i will lead my best life because at the end of the day alexander got the same before god raven had to stand before god and i want to hear him say well done thy good and faithful servant you've been faithful over a few things come on up and i'll make your ruler over many raven lived her best life is she really living now though they said she was the life of any part of y'all and let me tell y'all something i may be the preacher but i love some good music y'all and they said when i get to heaven every day gonna be like sunday and on sunday i don't know what y'all doing i pray the lord on the sunday amen amen you ain't gotta praise him in the physical church but you know that we are the church we are the church we are the church so to this family to this family to this mother be encouraged grief take your time don't let nobody tell you how long you got to grieve i get tired of these so same christians you just bought a moment can i be real we just want a woman i know what the bible says but let me cry if i want to cry [Applause] i know they going to a better place but i don't want them here back with me [Music] to this daughter nobody knows the hurt of losing a mother if you've never lost a mother especially at a young age and i'm here to tell y'all surround her if you want to be nosy stay at your house stay at home but some folk they're really sincere and really care because it's gonna take her a while to move forward you never get over it but you just live with the adjustments and to all the family and friends when you leave down from this place slow down and enjoy life because we are going away fast and it used to be a time you're here today and gone tomorrow but you can be here now and by the time nightfall god can call your name now raymond may not be a big-time person in the city hall or in congress and all of that good stuff but she was a jewel she was an angel and do me a favor let us stand on our feet and give god praise glory and honor for the life the love and the legacy of raven come on come on come on let's do
