hello everyone and welcome to Van Tech Corner in this video I will install open the new artics on the Rasberry Pi F and have a quick test of the device performance in routing openvpn and wot VPN at this moment official open RT support for the Rasberry Pi f is not yet available however there are bills from Marty Jones which I will be used for the test you can check out his build at github.com /mj 2226 the installation is very simple and straightforward all you need to do is downloading the phone Ware from GitHub after that burn it to the micro SD card using rof by exes or simply use the DD command if you are onlineer since the rasp High F only has one internet port I will use another USB to ethernet adapter as the one port it is the DU 1312 from dlink fortunately the Rival for this adapter included in Ma's build so I can use this on the first boot to ensure the raspber pi 5 won't be throttle due to overheat I have installed the active Corner which comes with four pin fans and an aluminum alloy heat sink the 51 5m PD Power Supply from Raspberry Pi is also used to provide a stable power sort to both the Raspberry Pi 5 and the USB internet adapter the onboard internet port is the line port and it is connected to my PC the USB to internet adapter is connected to the USB 3.0 Port the a end is connected to the Upstream rotor let's confirm that the micro SD card with open RT install and then power on the pii everything Wass on the F boot I am able to loog into the UC web interface as 192.168.1.1 at usual the username is wrote and there a no password we can see that the model isasi 5 model B Rion 1.0 and the Cel versions is 6.1.7 to1 down below we can see the available memory which is 8 GB and the statistics of the display there also the post status section both internet zeros and internet one up and running with 1 GB internet let's go and set up the root password and then proceeds with the toput test this is the one to L throughput test the test s is from the one side and it has IP address of 10. 42.0 do1 testing with open Speed Test the result is 829 MPS download and 878 mpps upload during the test the CPU is at 91% idle with the lot is just on one core of the CPU the result is still the same after enabling short Weare offloading and packet steering we can see that the CPU lot is also on one call of the CPU and the results is very close to the F test to make sure the result we accurate I have done the throughput test with iup tree here the IP TW test is running with four streams and using defile direction or up blood the speed is 847 mpps running the test again in Reverse or download the speed is 810 M PPS with four CPU calls clocked at 2.4 GHz I expect the rasp py can do at least 1 GB per second however the performance seem not really promising let's move to openvpn test from the test the network diagram head change here is openvpn server it has IP address of 172.16.0.0 the Rasberry Pi F1 interface has IP address of 17269 do11 both device are connected to the the high performance rate theel XG at 12502 and are in the s172 16.90 sl24 network the openvpn interface on the test server has the IP address of 10. A.1 and it will be used for the test let's start the open Speed Test here I got around 34 40 MPP download with 81% CPU idle or 90% CPU lot for upload 8300 mpps which a 22% CPU loot let's run the test again before moving to the iPod tree test this time the result is a little bit better it is 354 mppp download and 36 mpps upload running the iPod Tre test with four shms the record T put a 306 mpps during the test the CPU is ADD 75% idle or 25% CPU lot changing the direction to reverse or up flot the speed is 44 mpps while the CPU is at 26% all right so that is it for the openvpn throughput test let's check out the white got VPN throughput the network connection diagram is similar to the openvpn test which we did previously however the IP address of the wot interface on the server change to 107.0 do1 with open Speed Test we have 544 MPP download when the CPU is at 67% Ido for upload the speed is higher it is 882 mpps with 58% CPU idle the differences between upload and download is quite big so let's run the test for another time all right the result is correct and we have a huge difference between download and upload let's check it out with iup tree the iup tree throughput EO oret the same with open speed test with four streams running in normal direction or up flot the toport a 852 mpps running the iPod Tre test in revert mode the tops a 494 mpps the speed is even lower when reducing the stream to one it is 844 mpps for upload and 342 mpps for download all right so that's it the quick open vbn performance test on the Raspberry Pi 5 at this moment firware development for pii is still in early stage and there should be a lot of thing to fix and improve I will keep an eye on this and we will have another video Once the official open support is available that is all for this video thanks for watching and see you in the next one
