Sims 4 packs are really expensive and obviously it's not really possible to purchase all of them unless you're very very rich this is why I think it's really important to talk about which ones are really really good and which ones are really really bad just as a disclaimer I do not recommend purchasing any Sims for pack at full price I only recommend purchasing expansion packs and game packs at at least 50% off and stuff packs at least 20% off none of them I recommend purchasing at full price I always recommend waiting till a sale they always have sales on they almost always have these sales around any American holiday so please please please be patient and wait till there is some kind of sale also another disclaimer I'm more of a gameplay simmer obviously there's like creative Sim mode build mode live mode I'm more a live mode person so this review is like a live mode review over anything else so the base game like you you need it obviously and the free happy holiday pack these are the two three ones so they're a they're a bonus card looking at all of the expansion packs I want to talk about the ones that I personally think are actually good seasons is probably the only pack I'm going to put in need it just because you really do need it to have like a sense of time so your Sims aren't living in an Endless Summer I just think for live mode actually having Seasons it does make the game feel a lot more rewarding and it gives you a sense of progression and that sense of progression is really nice needless to say apart from actually having Seasons the best thing about The Season's pack in my opinion is having holidays it comes with pre-made ones like Christmas and New Year's but you can also make custom holidays and I feel like it's flexible enough to represent a lot of different cultures so if there's any pack today that you get I would say Seasons nothing else if you could only choose one now nothing else is necessary so nothing else is going in need it cuz I'm not going to you the next pack I really really like is get to work get to work is going and like it and it's because again Seasons gives you a sense of progression with time but I feel like get to work gives you a sense of progression with your job the world it comes with is very small and only has four lots and you'll never use it but I like the fact that this one comes with three live careers and a retail system and I think it opens up a lot of gameplay Avenue Simply Having a Live Career it also comes with aliens they're not really that fun to play with to be honest but I guess you can mess around with them if you want to another pack I really like for similar reasons is the get famous pack a lot of simmers complain about this one because it comes with a bit of a small world but it comes with celebrities which I actually think is a really fun way to play the game when I first got this pack this was one of the packs that I really did enjoy the most because I really like working through a celebrity progression system and I like the Live Career this pack as confirmed comes with the acting career it doesn't come with singers unfortunately not as a big famous career thing the only main Fame career is acting in line with the celebrity system I just think it's quite fun being a celebrity the next one I like is the city living pack City living doesn't directly come with like loads of really cool gameplay it doesn't come with live careers it does come with careers but they're not life but for me the reason why I like City living is just for the vibe I like the aesthetic of living in a city they have like City festivals or City events that you can go to the pack kind of gives you a reason to leave your Sims houses because I feel like other than going to work there's not really a reason to ever leave your house in The Sims 4 but City Liv I feel like gives you a reason to actually leave your house and it gives your Sims reasons to make friends so they can go out and do things together I would say it's quite a social pack especially if you're into like the whole like Millennial gameplay thing where you play as a young adult Sim all by themselves and you want to start off in the city maybe make friends and then as they go older they move into Willow Creek and have a vanilla Suburban life if you're one of those kinds of players I do recommend City living I also recommend cottage living if you're the opposite if you want a quiet country life in the farm honestly like just get sty Valley guys just get sty Valley but if you have a Sims addiction and you don't want to buy stardo Valley I think cottage living is a really good pack for the farming life farming is actually a broken feature in The Sims for no matter what packs you own so I just want to confirm if you like the idea of growing crops or something there's like so many big bugs with farming that just haven't been addressed for years so it farming is pretty broken so I wouldn't get it just for growing crops but if you like the idea of like having a farm with animals I think it can be really fun these are all of the expansion packs I really like moving onto the me category I'm putting in cats and dogs which I know is unpopular I just don't think they were implemented very very well I feel like they were implemented badly where they're kind of shallow and like you own a pet and they live in your house but there's not really like anything to do with them it comes with a live Veterinary career which can be okay but it is a little bit buggy and gets very repetitive I think pets in the The Sims 4 are the worst Sims Pets out of the Sims 1 2 and three I just don't feel like they were implemented very well the next one is get together this is actually one of my favorite packs for The Sims 4 but trying to look at objectively and trying to be helpful to you guys I don't really think it's that amazing the only reason why I think it's very good is because it comes with the biggest world in the entire game a huge world and I think it's really really great for build mode the gaml itself just revolves around joining clubs and creating your own clubs and I personally find that really fun as a player but I think most people just won't really bother with doing it most people who purchase the pack often say within 2 hours a game plate like what actually is this pack it just doesn't really feel it's really big it's the most expansive Sims 4 expansion pack therefore it very much fits the definition of an expansion pack but I just feel like the gaml isn't concrete enough to say like you're like this feature or that feature cuz it doesn't really come with like specific features in a way it just feels like a base game update in a weird way if you know what I mean the next me pack is discover University I actually really like discover University I think it's fun it wasn't implemented in the best way and it can be extremely buggy and glitchy I will be honest I actually just think the general gameplay of going to University can be a fun idea but the reason why it's in the middle category is because all of the University buildings are Rabbit Hole experiences and there's not really much to do outside of class not anything that offers like really brand new Incredible gameplay nothing like the Sims 2 universe pack the next one is Eco Lifestyle the reason why I quite like this pack is you start off in a little dystopian world but as you go through the game play you basically have to like work on cleaning up the environment and you have a say in how your city looks you make choices as a player that affect your neighborhood whether it looks really clean and modern or it takes a different aesthetic I just think it's quite fun but it is a shallow pack and I feel like it's a kind of experience you may get a little bit bored of once you've completed like clean cleaning up the environment you're like what do I do now it doesn't really have much replayability value in the ha it category and putting growing together and now I've said that you're going to putp me in the hated category cuz you're going to hate me growing together is not really a great expansion pack in my opinion taking a look at gameplay only I just don't really understand what it comes with it comes with a couple of random things for you know non-adult life stages like a treehouse or kids bikes but most of it feels like recycle base game content to be honest it's a very very shallow pack the major feature of this pack is milestones and Milestones are basically an achievement system you know like for example you get PlayStation trophies or like steam achievements if you play other video games they don't these achievements don't do anything it's just a little box that says you achieve something your sim WooHoo for the first time I just don't really feel like it expands on the base game enough to consider it to be an actually fun p to play with by itself I would regr growing together as base game 2.0 so if you are rich it basically makes the Sims for base game feel like a better base game but it doesn't feel like an expansion pack if that makes sense Island living is another hater honestly I don't hate it okay but it's a little bit lower than the middle category taking a look at the game playay itself it just doesn't really come with much gameplay the mermaids that it come with I know you guys like the mermaids I don't really think the mermaids are that in depth and they're not very fun they don't the mermaids L don't do anything they're so boring and I'm actually going to be putting snowy Escape in the exact same box for the exact same reason both snowy Escape an island living they give your Sims like a new way to live like you can either live in a bright summery world or you can live in a wintry world but I just don't feel like the game play that comes with them are substantial enough to actually say like these are worthy of being expansion packs cuz it's like well what do you do with the pack like enjoy the vibe enjoy the sunny Vibe enjoy the snowy Vibe the pack just have like Vibes but they don't really have gain plate I hope that makes sense they're like aesthetic packs in terms of delete it for rent high school years and horse ranch are going in here the reason why these three expansion packs are going in deleted is because they are very very buggy for rent is totally broken every single feature I've tried to use from this pack breaks in some kind of way whether big or small and it's very very distracting high school years the actual like going to school system sounds like such a fun idea on paper and I was so excited when I when it first came out it just didn't really feel like it was that fun it didn't feel very rewarding and going to school in the base game actually offers more options as a teenager than going to school with the high school Year's pack which is pretty bad and the way the gaml was just implemented was a bit shallow horse ranch as well is a very very shallow expansion pack this does not expand in the game in any way obviously it gives you horses but the way horses were implemented again there's not really anything you can do with them the actual hor horse events like the performance Festival things you do it in a rabbit hole so you don't actually see them happen the horse play equipment you can't set up obstacle courses like that for your horses or anything if you tell a horse to jump on a fence they will spin around the same fence over and over again like they're insane this one was just implemented very very lazily and it's a very am I can't even say the word ambitious ambitionless is an ambitionless expansion pack so taking a look at the game packs I'm going to pop Parenthood in like this pack is most definitely not for me but if you're a family player this is a good pack if I had to choose honestly between Parenthood and growing together I would honestly say Parenthood is probably actually a lot better for family gameplay as a disclaimer it does look at Living the family life from the perspective as a parent and it's all about like raising your children it comes with some new activities for kids and teens but I would definitely say out of all the family packs is probably the best one just because it actually gives you something to do as a pair parent other than just like feeding your children do you know what I mean it's all about teaching your kids life skills essentially and as they grow up these life skills affect gameplay in the future and of course it's the cheapest one out of all of the family packs high school years growing together whatever it's the cheapest family pack and I think it's the best value one another pack I really really like is the real of magic pack this is a little bit like most Sims content creators I feel like don't like real of magic but I think the world that it comes with is absolute trash but I actually think the game play is really fun it does get a little bit tedious after a while but for me personally I just feel like it's fun messing around I feel like a lot of us we play The Sims just to like mess around and see what happens and I feel like real with magic is a good one to do that because it comes with a lot of different magic spells and you can do a lot of different things with them in terms of other like fantasy packs I would say werewolves are the best a cult because we have werewolves vampires spellcasters I think that's all out of these I would person hly say that werewolves are the most fun ones to play with as they are the most in-depth and I feel like they're the ones that give you mostly like a totally new way to play which we don't see with the other occult packs the other occult vampire I'm putting them me for that reason I don't feel like they change the way that you play enough and the vampire powers are quite boring jungle Adventure is going in the middle I really like jungle Adventure I just feel like it gets a little bit repetitive you can explore a tomb but there is only like one like one there's like one Temple that you can explore every time you go into it it changes very slightly each time but it's essentially the same thing over and over again if you're looking for a slightly new way to play then it allows your Sims to go on vacation you can't live in the world you can only go on vacation there but I feel like it's slightly better than a lot of the other game packs strangerville is also going in the middle I actually again I quite like strangerville it comes with a linear storyline once you finish the story line it's basically done you don't ever need to do it again but I think it adds a little bit of Chaos into the game and makes it quite funny it's basically based on well unofficially it is based on Stranger Things where your Sims kind of get possessed and you have to work through this linear storyline but it's quite open with the way that you can deal with it I think it's an all right little package you can probably complete it within a couple of hours so it's not that deep but it's an okay little game pack dream home decorator I'm putting in hate it this is basically just build mode it comes with the ability to go into somebody's house house and furnish it but the way it's been implemented the game doesn't really care that much what furniture you put in a Sim's house so if you're doing an interior design job for somebody's house and they say I like the color green if you just put random green things in the house they're not going to care and it's got nothing on the Sims 3 architectural design career I just don't really think it was implemented very well and it's a little bit buggy the next one is journey to bat and hate it you might be surprised I'm not putting this one in the bottom category Journey Batu actually isn't that bad I don't think it's a severely bad pack and I think it can be fun it's just not really a Sims pack and it doesn't it's basically got nothing to do with the Sims I've always described it as a totally separate Star Wars experience it's just been coded into the Sims 4 if you like Star Wars just get an official Star Wars game don't get journey to bat but I think it's an okay little thing if you like The Sims and you like Star Wars both collectively together I think you may have a little bit of fun with this pack but I just don't feel like it was implemented very well and it just feels like an advertisement for Disney outdoor Retreat is going in delete it this pack basically comes with no gameplay it comes with camping but camping's a little bit boring this was the first ever pack released for The Sims 4 in its shows because it feels very like noicy and that there's not really anything going on in the pack spa day for the exact same reason they actually refreshed the pack where they tried to make it more appealing and they added a lot more features but even then it just doesn't really feel like that fun the career is implemented really really badly going to a spa is not really that fun now my wedding stories is going into delete it because it's completely broken it's a faulty product it doesn't work none of the gameplay works as intended same with d now it's a faulty product none of the gameplay works as intended in terms of the stuff packs now I personally don't really think any stuff packs are worth it but there are some ones that I personally like Paranormal stuff is my favorite pack for The Sims 4 that's speak because I think it's a it's actually a really good value for money stuff pack because the career that it comes with the Paranormal Investigator career I think it's really really fun you can change your house to a haunted house lock type which causes so much chaos on the lck if you like kind of chaotic funny gameplay I think that paranormal stuff is really great because it gives you that but it also gives you a really fun Live Career to do as well home Chef hustle is another one that I like this one gives you the ability to take cooking equipment that's portable put it on a food stand and create food and sell it on the spot it comes with a pizza oven and a waffle maker and a blender but you can use basically any portable cooking equipment from any pack and you can sell stuff you can also cook stuff at home and then like take it with you and then sell it on the table as well you can use it to do bake sales on your home lot you can go into your local park and sell pizzas in the park it's not major gameplay but I think it's a fun little thing to do if you like the idea of making a Sim who's a chef and they go around the different places in the worlds and they sell things from there I just feel like it can be implemented in a way that's quite fun it's not in depth because it's just a little stuff pack but I do think it's a really fun one in terms of all of the other stuff packs I'm popping tiny living in the middle one this one doesn't really come with any new gameplay and the build mode stuff that's in there is not very nice but I like the idea of making a tiny home and having my Sims live in a tiny home the only gameplay element is that they get a small buff to like raising skills or doing gardening if you live in a tiny home I just think it's a quirky kind of unique way to build in The Sims 4 I said I'm more of a gameplay simmer but I think if you are a bit of a noob to building I think it can be a great way to get into building and it gives you a nice little challenge most of the other Sims 4 stuff packs I putting in hate it I don't necessarily hate them okay I just don't feel like the gaml that they come with is enough to say like oh these are so good these are so worth it these are amazing I just don't really feel like they come with to say that I think they're okay little experiences Nifty knitting laundry day toddler stuff bowling night stuff vintage glamour stuff kids room stuff romantic garden stuff movie hangout stuff spooky Day stuff gosh I'm stuffed out after that if you really like the idea of these ones by all means get one I just don't think they're worth it in terms of the horrendous ones which I would avoid like the plague luxury party stuff this pack comes with basically no new game gam play so bad perfect patio stuff again it literally doesn't come with like any brand new gameplay cool kitchen stuff just comes with an ice cream making machine it's not worth it just for that guys backyard stuff comes with a couple of backyard activities but they're not really fun to play with and you'll get bored of them Seasons comes with enough backyard activities in my opinion Fitness stuff does not come with any new fitness equipment other than a rock climbing machine and it's just pretty Pointless mosino Stuff doesn't with any new gameplay apart from a very badly implemented photographer career my first pet stuff is Cash grabby it's a pack that you require another pack to play it's just cash grabby crap now the kits I'm not including any of the kits in this list for kits I just say if you like specifically build mode or Create a Sim mode you might enjoy getting a kit but they're entirely subjective therefore I don't really think it I'm not going to say like oh you must get this one you can't get that one because it just depends on you and if you like the vibe because these are only build assets or clothing assets the only avoid I would say is bust the dust this one is a gam play kit and it's the only gameplay kit and it was implemented in a way that's very broken and shallow other than that it's your preference do you agree or disagree with this list you guys let me know otherwise thank you very much for watching I will see you in the next one
