the quest 3 is finally here but you might or might not have noticed a few things are missing the metac connect event showed us a lot more than what we got but rest assured a huge update is coming and in this video we will go over what to expect from massive graphical improvements to a complete overhaul to your home environment and we will do a deeper dive into things we didn't hear about like The elusive GTA San Andreas strap him because this is everything coming to The Meta Quest 3 now the quest 3 has been out nearly 2 weeks and it has some incredible features that really makes good use of the new cleara pass through but that's not everything the quest 3 will offer we are going to go over everything coming to the quest 3 over the next few months and I'll include the dates of when we can expect these new features coming from the quest Pro I was generally shocked how much of an upgrade this headset was not just in terms of pass through but it's clearer the quest 3 is more powerful with the new NextGen Snapdragon chip my only compl so far that it's slightly uncomfortable and the battery life isn't that great but one thing that particularly bothered me was the lack of new pass through home environment and that is not the one we have now where it's just the pass through the one showcased in the metac connect event and the one I've been speculating on for the last few months you can see what kind of features we were expecting portals to games spatial anchors of trophies from games and dynamic pictures the space sense is definitely the first step towards this new home environment and I believe we will start to see the roll out of this with update V60 according to a meta employee the quest three won't be getting a v59 update but skips straight ahead to V60 and I believe this will be timed after the release of the Xbox integration in December so essentially early next year but if now you want to get a sense of what this new home environment could be like I highly recommend you check out figman XR because you can literally turn your space from this into this I've been messing around with figman since owning the quest Pro and it's definitely the best app I found for customizing your space and created augmented artwork but on to Xbox for those who don't know Xbox cloud services will be coming to the quest in December as for this announcement Xbox cloud gaming is coming to Quest in December you're going to be able to play you know hundreds of Xbox games including titles like Halo and Minecraft and Elder Scrolls and you're going to be able to do that on a massive screen anywhere you go now I've been using xcloud since the early beta and what I will say for those wanting to get into it it is the best cloud service I've used but it does have its limitations FPS games for example are nearly impossible to compete with at a high level because of the latency but if you already own an Xbox streaming directly is far better experience and personally that's what I'm most excited about one thing I do find interesting with new cloud-based partnership between Metro and Microsoft it does make you wonder if meta could utilize this in the future to stream PC VR games directly to the quest much like Shadow PC as Microsoft does have one of the biggest cloud infrastructures available but that is just speculation The Meta event has given us an idea what to expect from this and basically a dedicated app that opens a window inside mixed reality now I hope you get a VR version much like the one from Netflix but time will tell another feature that we will start to see as now it's an experimental feature for developers is occlusion now I've been so excited for this feature for a very long time when it comes to augmented reality because it's the reason your environment doesn't blend so well if you notice when you're playing AR games most of the time Real World objects and your hands are included by AR but now with the new occlusion developer options objects and hands now have full occlusion with your AR environments and you can actually experience this today for yourself with the first hands demo notice how you can see my hands and not a digital representation of my hands this is the first time I've noticed it and I was blown away because this is incredibly difficult to achieve before we get into the next upcoming features of the quest 3 I just want to talk about something that was missing and to be honest I was expecting at least a small trailer or at nightman and that's San Andre VR we heard literally nothing and to go as far as a meta spokesperson refused to comment on the game but I want to try and put people's mind at ease and try and restore some sort of confidence that there still is in production now San Andreas VR isn't being made directly by Rockstar but a studio called video games Deluxe they have only ever worked on one other game and that's LA Noir VR which to be honest was a very well done Port now we all know Rockstar is Radio silent with any of their titles but if we head to video games Deluxe LinkedIn page we can almost certainly see they have active employees which some are VR Specialists and they recently were hiring for a game designer just 5 months ago I imagine San Andreas VR will be a difficult title to p and that means it will take time it would be great if we had some sort of announcement or at least a confirmation but but the best we have to go off are the employees and as far as I can tell this still looks like an active company but now moving on to graphical improvements I think we've all seen this video by now and it's clear most of developers are working on improving the graphics on Quest titles from reducing fog to increasing the text resolution but one game in particular has blown me away with this incredible comparison and that's the walking dead but unfortunately if you put up the game today it still looks like it used to the developers did announce previously that later this year we will see a huge update but all I could find on this was a Reddit post saying October 27th there would be a Walking Dead and meta event where the update was expected to launch but I'd take this with a pinch of Soul keeping on the gaming side of things flat 2 VR the modern Community responsible for the Universal VR injector and conversion of halflife 2 into VR have been messing around with importing 2D games into an augmented environment showing now is Tekken 7 running natively within the quest in mixed reality using the prey dog injector this could be the beginning of some incredible 2D augmented ports and if you look you can actually move round the 3D scenes if you'd like to try something similar to this I recommend 3D senn VR on Steam where you can quite literally play games like Mario in mixed reality which is incredible before I get into the last two points I just want to talk about VR cover today's sponsor my quest is not comfortable and I'm not sure if it's my face or head shape but both the straps and face plate are not really that comfortable at all but VR cover does help with more cushioning and allows me to easily wash it when it gets dirty if you'd like to check out their store you can get 10% off using the code in the description the last two things I want to talk about are both AI related if you go to your home environment and look in the mirror you'll notice you have legs but they don't exactly move the way you'd expect well soon in December we will get more effective AI generated legs that respond more naturally than what we currently have but the best news is because of the quest 3's camera placements we will also be getting full camera based upper body tracking and this will be implemented in most games come December this gives us a whole range of possibilities and this would add a much more realistic representation in most of the games we play today the next AI news is llama nope not the animal but meta's AI language model think chat GPT Qualcomm made an announcement earlier this year that in 2024 qualcom plans to make llama 2 available on the chipset which would give developers access to the large language model which means more Dynamic conversations with NPCs and this is the best example I could find of this I love your outlook what are you most grateful for in life I'm grateful for my family and friends they were enjoying meaning into my life and I couldn't be more thankful for their presence you'll first see this rolling out in Horizon worlds with meta testing this new integration we will be roaming NPCs around Horizon worlds which sounds both incredible and kind of creepy so it looks like we have an insane few months ahead October for the the graphical upgrade for The Walking Dead which come to think of it is near Halloween which makes sense December for Xbox and full body tracking and next year for AI Integrations and a new augmented reality home what do you all think about these updates let me know down in the comment section below like And subscribe if you enjoy the video and as always I'll catch you on the next one
