first question I have to ask how much stronger is your neck after wearing the head pieces and other and the posture and the whole thing in this show I mean I don't think I've I've moved since I feel like I'm in a in a permanent state of just uh air airiness and and regality that I never had before um they were fantastic the wigs they were a little heavy but it's it was very good for me to be able to create a character and to actually feel how she would have felt right what is the most Regal or queenly thing about India and what makes Corey kingley in real life in real life in real real life I would say your cleanliness thank you hygiene which is also by the way Next to Godliness wow um sorry go on Wow thank you I would say your most um [Music] you know your punctuality which is very inaccurate um but we will wait for him because it's Corey so you're on Quarry time last week it was India time so but we won't go into that because you know yeah um no it's fine it's fine it's fine it's good yeah you've opened it kind of worms my friend yeah um sorry yes I do have to ask because I always wonder about this obviously there's lots of steamy scenes in this film like how do you interact with each other prior to this do you give each other a pep talk do you have to like kind of get into a headspace where you're like this is weird but it's not weird because we're doing our job what is that like prior to shooting one of those things there are lots of I mean also like by the end of it you are very very used to it and you have helped choreograph uh through conversations with the director and the intimacy coordinators the entire scene so you're very aware of it and it is it's kind of like a stunt scene yeah so everything is you know hyper choreographed and none of it is improvised it's never just like go at each other and also there was there was like a you know intimacy coordinators have this like physical thing that you can do so we would go for like a really really intense high high ten yeah um uh really hard and there's something about that that sort of like snaps you you know it's a good mental thing to go right now you're in that world and then you do it again when you come out and then you go now we're out yeah and you see you do that with each other yes yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah that's fascinating and probably not something that often happens in real life in the bedroom but who knows exactly yeah yeah um were you tempted and did you take home a souvenir from scent um I was incredibly tempted um but I uh I'm too good um so I didn't um but I took a it wasn't it wasn't a prop but I had like a box I ate that they made for all the people that had to wear the you know the dresses because we couldn't sit with a chair that had a back so it was like a velvet cushion yeah a bum a bum box never heard that but we'll go with it um and I had like a little plaque that said young Queen Charlotte so I asked someone to take that off with some other with a screwdriver and I've got it above my bedroom oh really oh my wall yeah oh wow I love that that's quite lovely yeah did you not pinch anything I I actually tried to steal my ring um yes with the G yes with the G right because everyone knows I'm a G um and we I so I tried that and then I got told not to do that and then actually they just let me take it they they gave me permission so he has it yeah I have it not wearing it today though yeah strange that fake fan sorry she doesn't really know what she's doing she's tired I'm very tired but I do know what I'm doing I'm tired as well yeah no I mean you must get recognized all the time on the streets now yes um not all the time uh sometimes uh I do I was here in New York um buying some uh bakery or a bakery yeah down on Sixth Avenue and it's just mine I was in like my tracksuit my baseball cap and just minding my with the umbrella because it was torrential rain um looking like a drowned rat and I was like oh yeah can I have this that and the other I looked up and there's two lovely beautiful black girls just like looking at me like that and I was like everything okay I said are you from Bridgeton I said yeah I'm like I was like oh wow can I come and get a picture absolutely fine and they gave me the bakery stuff for free the being the queen has its privileges I was like so it was such a humbling experience you know because I'd never got free stuff like that before you know but it was so lovely and really generous and you know it didn't make me feel uncomfortable or anything you know when people can kind of post but it was just really really beautiful and it was yeah it was that's the nice part of it yeah it shows the Regionals totally totally totally has it reached a point where you feel weird not wearing a giant heavy ah listen as fast as I can get that stuff off my head believe me it's coming off it's a privilege to be Charlotte and wear all of that they are works of art and you know one wig takes at least a week to make do you know what I mean yeah so the the the amount of detail and and Artistry that goes into that lesson I will wear that every single day but as Charlotte right it does make me happier that we live in the present yes I don't need a whale though I was in my baseball cap and my tracksuit yesterday and it was glorious how much do you and what specifically do you relish about this expansion of of this character that you brought to life in the first place that we can see how he has a vulnerable human being you know we can see her as a mother it's great to play The Glitz and glamor don't get me wrong you know the balls are fantastic and I love every moment of it but those intimate moments are the ones that people talk about um and so it's really beautiful to be able to show the other side of her the human side of her without giving anything away episode six I was bawling and you know what I'm talking about and it was a lot and that's Tom verica's Vision yeah that scene really wasn't actually written like that it's his vision there were some stage directions that we might go back and forth right but it was totally his vision to do to film it that way has this changed your life in real life yet are people recognizing you from the trailers are they I mean not for me yeah everything still feels very normal at the moment um but I don't know come first Thursday things might change up no idea I have very different hair in the show okay maybe I've got a disguise now um how's your posture after this show do you find yours like I always wonder truly like after you play a role like this do you yeah not you're like no I'm so over I just love no much much better it's it's really helped my my posture day today because normally I sort of I slump around like this quite a lot and it forces you to pull your shoulders back and be ready for anything that comes your way so I think my pushes got better and I wish my personality in real life do you prefer serving or being served what sort of person are you oh serving I reckon yeah random acts of kindness that's my yeah I think I'm the same I think I'm I'm a bit of a yes person I always try to look out for other people being being served is nice every now and then it was uncomfortable yeah yeah it's just a bit awkward yeah do you find yourself doing the I feel like any time that I'm in London the word that I hear the most is sorry oh yeah in every context I apologize for anything even even if I was the one that got punched in the face I'm so sorry um so I I am not asking the question about the heartthrobs of this show but someone else asked Corey if he's ready to be the heart therapist he said he's not the heartthrob this one is the hurt thread oh that's that's definitely no I'm offended if anything um I have completely ridiculous hair in the show so I don't think no I don't think is that just because of height what are you basing this on that's the size of the face the size of face no I I hate Corey's gonna be yeah how could he not be yeah I know he's gorgeous obviously you guys get along and enjoyed working with each other but was the dog the real star of this show yeah I mean whenever I was holding the dog occasionally she would Drift Off to Sleep which is an attack on my performance I failed therefore is stealing my scenes so why do you think people are so drawn to that like these I mean you saw all of these people last night were like in Period costumes that they had put together on their own what is it about Regency Era that you think is is so intoxicating for viewers uh I imagine it was a form of escapism isn't it escaping to a different reality from from our own a different world and it Sparks the imagination I think it's really colorful and like last night you just everyone felt so inclusive within this world and and it was it was really kind of quite moving to see how much this means to fans you can't you you forget you're so detached shooting the show and then you don't think about it for so long and you come back and you do all this and then I you talked to her about like last night and you go wow this really does mean so much to so many people yeah without giving anything away because we're gonna air this before any spoilers okay but you did also have to learn how to dance for this sure can you still do it are you quite proud of your uh performance oh I I don't know if I could remember I can remember it on the day that was a real joy to do that that was yeah probably one of the biggest pension moments of the entire experience yeah because we all got to rehearse it together for like hours in a room and that was quite rare so it was a nice result to come together and rest the same bit in a room yeah you know you're going to be a meme after this right oh really I mean don't you think you have like your your a your face is so good but B you say so much with it and there are lots of like let's just get this over with faces or did you say that faces are you ready for this oh my God maybe maybe I'll say that like it might change when I see what they're paired with that's fair it's whatever it says underneath it um when you are playing an established character what sort of percentage of your performance is either emulating or completely informed by the character that's already been developed versus you just coming at it and saying this is a different life I would say maybe [Music] 20 15 emulation and then 85. uh me because our director was also very much like this is you we don't want anything from Bridgerton it's it is 40 years difference right I think if I look to myself in 40 years I would probably be a completely different human than the person that is sitting here now and so that released a lot but there is I think with Agatha some something that has to be reminded of who she is in Bridgerton because you see her in a completely different set of circumstances and then you wonder how she gets to where she is and so there has to be something bubbling throughout all of those scenes you know so that the moment she gets her Freedom she she goes sprinting off right and so and that was something that just naturally happened between me and ajua we have a lot of similarities so it was strange because she also looks very much like my Aunt really yeah it was very bizarre because when I first watched religion I was like whoa very creepy but I think she has her she's a daddy's girl her father is West African so naturally there is this I don't know je ne sais quoi about like right that we just both shared that made that 15 just organically happen yeah what would you say that you sort of most relate to or align with with long young lady Danbury this hunger she has at any point she could just give up you know she'd be like that's too much yeah but she she fights and it's this thing of and I've I've had this conversation with so many of my friends before where they're like are somebody you don't have to fight every fight and I'm like if not me then who and I think she has that question running in her head where she's like I would love to give up but if I give up then who will take over and so I think we both have that sense of like strange like martyrdom like just take me I don't care I'll give myself to the fight um and it was such it was so liberating to have that channeled through somebody and is also has the words to back it up that are written by Shonda because me I'm like um but her Agatha knows exactly what she wants to say the moment she says it this hundred percent confidence and self-assuredness it has to come from somewhere yeah I've seen your Instagram I feel like you have the words too I'm just gonna put it out there thank you
