thus using QHD versus 1080p affect battery life way more than we expected well let's debunk that myth with this extreme battery drain test between the Galaxy s24 Ultra iPhone 15 Pro Max and most importantly the pixel 8 Pro this is a follow-up part two to my first Extreme battery drain test between the Galaxy s24 Ultra iPhone 15 Pro Max and a pixel 8 Pro on mobile data only with the Android devices they were running at their maximum screen resolution at 1440p where the iPhone was set to it normal resolution as you cannot change it all screen refresh rates at 120 HZ and screen brightness set to 200 nits with auto brightness off so pretty much following the same consistent settings and the same apps that we're running again but this time we're going to be comparing it with fhd 1080p the out of boox screen resolutions for the pixel 8 Pro and the Galaxy s24 Ultra to see does it really make a difference let's not waste much time let's get into it and compare them let's pop things off with this extreme battery drain test between the Galaxy s24 Ultra iPhone 15 Pro Max and the pixel 8 Pro with the display set to QHD versus 1080p fhd on the Galaxy s24 Ultra and the pixel 8 Pro and we are again running this on mobile data only with no Wi-Fi options and I'm going to try and run it as consistently as I did with the original QHD footage with the fhd and really see what the difference is like and boy oh boy oh boy are you lock in for a treat and surprise when you see what the situation is if you set the situation of the display at their maximum resolution compared to 1080p oh first app of course Tik Tok as it does have an Autos scroll feature it does make it easier to automate you do see some ads here and there but of course Tik Tok is the wicked Wild West we there as well follow us lover of techba and at the first interval Galaxy s24 Ultra QHD is at 87% battery temperature you doing at 36° C iPhone 15 Pro Max 91% battery at 35.6 De C and pi8 for QD 90% battery 36.2 de C going to fhd when it comes to Galaxy s20 for Ultra that is at 87% Battery 34.9 De C and you do have the iPhone 15 Pro Max at 92% 34° C when it comes to the battery reading and you do have a 90% battery at fhd for the pixel 8 Pro 35.5 de C and of course below you do have the ratings for the percentage of battery lost at each rating again there's a lot of information there so I highly recommend you pause it zoom in watch this on the biggest display possible at the highest resolution at 4K 60 so you can be able to decipher and pick everything that you're seeing in terms of the information at hand because it is a lot I know even for me when I was labeling things up I was like damn I hope you all appreciate this because I know you do the value that I'm bringing to these comparisons they take some time to do so definitely if you appreciate make sure you like subscribe and turn on notifications so you don't miss any future videos and comparisons on the channel we've got lots of aviations baseding your ideas and feedback so we're going to get into more of it next interval of course is Instagram watching some reals for about approximately an hour again matching things up now I've said it before Instagram man that's low key been my favorite consumable place for social media so if you want to see more stuff from us there go follow us at lover of techba it is an enjoyable experience and you get to see a lot of behind the scenes of what goes into these videos and just the I'm doing and what I'm doing from travels events so many things man definitely hit us up there for a lot of BTS right next interval QHD for the Galaxy s24 Ultra is 73% battery 36.2 de C temperature iPhone 15 Pro Max at 76% battery and 37.8 de pixel8 pro at the QHD is 73% and temperature reading at 38.3 de C now to the fhd on the Galaxy s24 Ultra is at 72% battery temperature reading at 34.2 de C iPhone 15 Pro Max is at 77% at 34.0 De C reading and a pixel8 pro at fhd setting at 75% Battery 35.3 De C reading and of course you've got all the battery percentage loss for this interval at the bottom so definitely take that in and have a look at that so yeah man that's telling you that there ain't nothing in it there's like a percentage difference of one or two between fhd and QHD for the pixel 8 Pro and the Galaxy s24 Ultra so it looks like we might be debunking things or are things going to switch up when we get later into it well let's see one of the most intensive tests that we've got is live streaming on Instagram like I said it before man I tend to see my co- colleagues and friends that content create as well jump on lives I like to jump on with them and Vibe with them Vibe With Their audience my audience kind of catch up man easily goes for about an hour without even thinking so yeah in this particular situation is a very intense test on all three these devices especially on mobile data so at this interval running what we going to have we are pretty much going to have a lot to decipher so s24 Ultra on the QHD 49% battery temperature reading at 42.4 De C iPhone 15 Pro Max 54% battery and 40.8 de C reading and with the pixel 8 Pro at QD is 46% Battery 42.2 De C reading and the fhd 1080p Galaxy s24 Ultra is at 49% reading for the battery and 41.1 de CSUS reading iph 50 Pro Max at 56% Battery 41.0 De C for the temperature reading and the fhd 1080p setting for the pixel 8 Pro is at 48% battery 43° C reading wow okay there's no difference between the Galaxy s24 Ultra at QD and fhd when it comes to the battery percentage at this point and there's only 2 percentage Advantage at fhd for the pixel 8 Pro and of course you do have the iPhone 15 Pro Max with the group in fhd at 56% now mind you software is running on iOS 17.3 for the iPhone 15 Pro Max for the fhd group where it's a previous one is 17.21 just to bear that in mind next one is YouTube for a onehour video test that we've got in this particular situation is very interesting to see where the pixels being driven at the high res solution would really come into play for seeing if it's going to stress it out or not is this where we're going to be seeing the difference look place your bets is this the case or not I thought this would be the case because even on mobile data we're running this at 2160p 60 HZ or 60 FPS for the video that we're seeing and what difference do we get 32% on the QHD for the Galaxy s24 Ultra 37% on the iPhone 15 Pro Max and you've got 30% on the pixel 8 Pro for QD 31% at fhd for the Galaxy s24 Ultra 38% battery on the iPhone 15 Pro Max and 28% battery on the pixel 8 Pro and you can see the temperature difference is really just in the margins it's only a 1% difference 2 percentage difference Advantage this time on the QHD for the pixel 8 Pro and the advantage you're actually get this on a QHD for the Galaxy s24 Ultra between a percentage bro this is a shock and I was there thinking I was going to be really in for a tree maybe things are going to change 1 hour with YouTube music of course for one of my favorite rap albums of all time Kanye West's College drop out and boy this one is a crazy one what was the song that was really getting me through it breathe in breathe out I had to really take it in it's like breathe in breathe out because I was thinking the shock Factor right now yeah maybe I'm in shock and maybe it's just me maybe it's a placebo effect maybe I'm just going a bit crazy maybe there is meant to be a result difference but man let's check it at this interval QHD settings first for s24 Ultra 22% battery 32.8 de temperature scent and then you've got 90% battery on the iPhone 15 Pro Max 37.5 de C 16% battery on the pixel 8 Pro at QHD 35.7 de C moving to fhd 16% battery on the s24 ultra 33.5 de C 20% on the iPhone 15 Pro Max 34.2 de C and at fhd for the pixel8 pro 14% battery at 32.4 de C people people what is going on we've got to have a conversation here because we know once we get to Twitter spaces this is when the stuff gets really really push and if you remember from the Q setting the one to buckle first was the pixel 8 Pro so it's going to be first to buckle again is it going to go the distance if it does buckle first how close are the QHD and and the 1080p going to be to each other people let me know what's going to be the difference in time are we talking about minutes are we talking about seconds cuz man when I was going through this I was even just curious and this is what makes me enjoy these tests they're difficult to do but a curious man for me to be actually seeing the difference always there and of course it's the QHD that goes first at 5 hours 54 minutes and 20 seconds and at 6 seconds later is the pixel 8 Pro at QHD so in this particular situation you're getting a slightly longer time on a QD it's in the margin of error and the final temperature reading 34.1 de C on a fhd and then 38.1 de C on the QHD setting for the pixel 8 Pro so pixel 8 Pro third place like before but a margin difference of only 6 minutes if you're considering refresh rate still being 120 HZ display resolution being different at QD and fhd and brightness set to 200 nits with no auto brightness on I'm shocked I'm speechless and obviously you've got the other temperature readings and Battery readings for the others there that you can see absorb that in the screen because right now this is exciting times because we're down to Galaxy s24 Ultra and the iPhone 15 Pro Max again didn't really make much of a difference for the screen resolution maybe it's a refresh rate thing or maybe it's mobile data versus wi-fi that's the real difference right let's finish this and get into it the 1 hour interval at 6 hours woo 6 hours deep into this then you've got 9% battery on the cubic she for s24 Ultra and then we've got 35° C then 7% Battery 35.2 De C and we've got 6% battery on the fhg for s24 Ultra 29.6 de C so slightly cooler definitely liking the benefit of that and 9% battery at 31.6 de C so again cooler again so I'm guessing maybe the iOS 17.3 optimization for the iPhone is really benefiting because hey you can't change the screen resolution there but you can do on the on the refresh rate so here we are 4K 60 recording this is the final stretch baby what's going to happen in terms of who's going to be finishing first I'm thinking oh man you know what the FH is going to really help the Galaxy s20 for Ultra in this situation but no oh no 6 hours 9 minutes and 29 seconds it's done oh my gosh it's actually done earlier then the QHD setting for the Galaxy s 24 Ultra ooh final temperature reading at 36.4 de C oh my gosh if you didn't remember the finishing time that I originally had for the QHD of the Galaxy s24 Ultra was around 6 hours and 17 minutes or so that's a huge margin that's a decent margin that's a shock and that is with it at fhd 1080p setting with 120 HZ and the brightness set to 200 nits okay that's oh man this is an interesting turnout so we're moving down the pecking order we're checking this the percentage inq HD for the s24 ultra is at 3% 3% matching to the iPhone 15 Pro Max 6 hours 12 minutes roughly around that time right we're speeding things along we're seeing how we're looking here and boy this is crazy this is crazy again remembering that this particular one right here it is going to be the Galaxy s24 Ultra HD finishing at 6 hours 17 minutes and 5 Seconds just a reminder that oh in this particular situation the iPhone 15 Pro Max is on 1% this is where it's come down to does screen resolution really make a difference it looks like it really hasn't what a surprise what it really shows is is really down to probably mobile data screen refresh rate and being on Wi-Fi and in this particular situation the iPhone 15 Pro Max is on its last 1% and this is on now looking at it from IOS 17.21 given the final temperature readings 40.1 de C on a QD setting for the s24 ultra 37.6 de C on iPhone 15 Pro Max battery percentage here is 4% at 6 hours and 18 minutes for the iPhone 15 Pro Max for the group that it was in with the 1080p of course you cannot change the screen resolution you can change the brightness and the refresh rate down to 60 HZ so just something to consider but this situation right now man how long is this version of the iPhone going to go well 6 hours 18 minutes and 47 seconds for iOS 17.21 packing in in this particular situation with a final temperature reading of 37.0 De C still very efficient it's the one on top from the previous one it's the recap footage of course we've got it there the real question though the real question though what's going to happen with the finishing time of the iPhone 15 Pro Max running on iOS 17.3 all right here we are we are at 6 hours getting to 23 minutes check it it this time we're on 2% battery oh that's a distant stretch 2% battery that we're on right now is a distant stretch how long is it going to take take and we know I don't know whether Apple displays and indicates his battery accurately but man the last percentage of an iPhone even recording video is stubborn it is stubborn people 1% battery 6 hours and 25 minutes that we're on right now what's he going to take what's he going to take I was 17.3 you are a stubborn one you're getting into this okay where are we now finishing up bringing things home it is the iPhone 15 Pro Max 6 hours 28 minutes and 7 seconds with a final temperature reading of 36.5 de [Music] Celsius so in third place is the pixel 8 Pro and looking at the times that we have with the QHD is 5 hours and 54 minutes and 26 seconds and pixel8 Pro fhd is 5 hours 54 minutes and 20 seconds a 6C time difference are you kidding me that's the only difference you getting if you're using QHD versus 108 the margins are very slim here and really solidifies that the time difference in fhd versus QHD ain't really nothing different in second place is the Galaxy s24 Ultra we have the times for QHD 6 hours 17 minutes and 5 Seconds and the times for the fhd at 6 hours 9 minutes and 29 seconds who listen it really shows you it's down to the modem and what's been worked on mobile data and not the screen resolution that's a differential of around 7 and A2 minutes so again hey enjoy the maximum screen resolution because that's not really where the power drawer is it's probably down to refresh rate and most likely down to mobile data and in first place is the iPhone 15 Pro Max comparing the times running at iOS 17.21 versus iOS 17 3 6 hours 18 minutes and 47 seconds and 6 hours 28 minutes and 7 Seconds boy this just landed in IA 17.3 looks to be doing some crazy optimization to eek out more battery life cuz I'm telling you man that's a lot more and if you're doing something less intensive like 4K 60 video recording you might be in for a treat when it comes to the battery life experience what does this test tell you resolution on these Android phones makes no real difference to your battery life so either Crank It Up or leave whoever it is the real factor is mobile data versus wi-fi almost likely screen refresh rate and guess what I'm pretty much going to be doing those comparisons as well so if they're not live already then wait for them but if they are make sure you click the link in the description below or the end cards to watch them and of course at this point I'm ready for all the smoke to give me on how I should have done it better made it more fair do this let's engage in the comment section below because boy I've got time and I'm actually enjoying all of this and thanks for your support we're going to keep do more of them I'll catch you in the next one [Music] peace
