everybody and welcome to another project zombie mapping 101 now we've got a quick video today with a useful tip now in tiles it you've probably figured out to draw fence tool which you can draw on any of the uh you know layer selected and you can draw that out and you can quickly draw nice fences and it does the corners for you and holding control you can actually place the posts on the opposite sides and it looks pretty amazing and it makes drawing fencing very easy and rather fun um but not even all of the vanilla stuffish in the list by default and I'll show you how to do a make a new entry into that so to get to that file you want to go to your tile set folder go to Lua and then go to tools Dash fence Dash data so tools.fence is the actual script that does all the work for you and then Dash data is the one that we're going to open up to actually change and add our own stuff now there's a whole bunch of different entries in here marked by the you know the keys on the top and bottom if you want to make a new Android just copy the entire thing paste it down below and edit it that way because that's going to make your life a whole lot easier so you don't have to type all the stuff now all the I'm using notepad plus plus so the colors May differ from you if you're doing this in regular notepad um or another you know basic text editor I'm assuming all the text is just going to be plain black but for me the first words are all going to be dark black black full black whatever and then the entries are all in lighter gray marking that there are entries now how does this work and what does everything do now the label is actually the name that you're going to see in the Thai leather so farmwood Brown that's reflected here in the label what I put in here and I save and edit or restart Thailand will reflect in the fence tool now for West one and West two those are the Western facing walls so in this case these assuming that this side is north like top right is north and top left is West so these are the Western entries now what does that mean now in this case this is the name of the tile sheet so location underscore Farm underscore accessories underscore spy Jack underscore zero one that is this one this is a custom one made by spy jacket that you let me use in my pack thank you again spy Jack um so you won't have this one by default but for the sake of the tutorial that's not really going to matter because you're probably gonna want to add something from fencing uh I mean maybe something like this because I don't think this one is in there by default but then you'll run into the issue but for something like that for these there are two entries so you have one two part fences I mean you could do them all like this but in general they are set up to work like you know that and that's reflected in the fencing sheet because we have two entries West one West two now I think it doesn't work when you add another entry because it's not set up that way in code so if you only have one a fence that's gonna work like if you only have I'm gonna go back to fencing this wall and you can only do one you're gonna use the same name for both entries so if I were to add that one I'd have to count which tile number that is starting at zero so it should be zero one two three four five six seven and next row is eight so you've got 0 8 16 24 32 40. great so you have tile sheet number 40. so if I would be adding that one I should go with fencing underscore zero one underscore 40 and I do the same thing for the one below in the west section now not all fencing entries have Gates or doors you can just put in a plain fence or you can put in nil and it will not spawn anything so Nils basically is n-i-l and that just takes over everything within the keys like that in the the brackies the brackets whatever um and that's basically how you do it you do the same thing for the northern wall so in this case you do 41. and then you do that for both entries and for the there's again there's no gate space or door so you'd leave that with nil or something else and then for the Northwest piece that is the corner piece so you go with 42. or yeah the corner piece and then the post is of course the post so the end cap piece which would be 40 41 42 43. it's great if you can count if you can't count this is going to be very difficult but if you can count to what maybe 80 it should be fine you put that all in you save that out you restart your tile out of there and then you can use it just fine and I think we have that one right here for example now I hold Ctrl to make a gate but there's no gate so it's just going to leave it open and that's uh that's it that's how you add fences real quick um as always if you want to support me making these videos check out my patreon um and if you don't want to check out my patreon and you like these videos consider liking and subscribing and I hope you all have a very very nice day thank you for watching
