foreign Pixel Perfect video now the last video we created this awesome looking Cube and you'll probably wanna one well you're probably wondering how to get it you know in the editor so you can actually place it and then hopefully see it in game later on now two well to do that we have to do a couple things of course that's what the video is about um so far we've been creating this thing in our little 100 by 100 pixel uh temp or you know surface here or drawing sheet but that's not actually how project Zomboy does the art sheets and to get it into the game we're gonna actually have to do a couple things so we're going to merge these layers I I do that by hitting culture selecting layers and hitting Ctrl e that's probably Photoshop specific I'm gonna now I have everything on one layer I'm gonna copy this entire thing create or open a different template which I will share with you guys which is wait there we go the mask basic starter template that throttle Kitty made that's very useful um and as you can see it has a whole bunch of let's get rid of these for a second of little rectangles not every rectangle here is 128 pixels by 256 pixels there we go that's a bit rough at every every one of these every single little rectangle is or represents a different tile so your tile can be multiple sizes but it needs to be cut up in a specific way so that it will fit together in game there's also a little full or layer for the floor tile so you have a idea of where the actual floor is going to be and for this we're just going to place our Cube roughly in the middle because we're not too worried about it this template is very useful I suggest you download it and use it for most of your tiles or you know if you really want to make your own make your own but there's no point because this is a free thing the throttle Kitty made and uh there's no reason not to use it now to actually I'm going to save this let's save this first as a tutorial video I already tried a tutorial video before that's why I have multiple files already but uh they were so I had to do it again um I'm gonna hide the background and save it as a PNG a I'm not gonna go into specifics about every type of image file there is pngs are a type of image file that are they have a lossless compression so even if you save it a billion times it's not gonna decrease its uh Graphics Fidelity like it's still gonna look good and it supports transparency meaning you know not everything has to be a color now I'm going to name it capitaltest.png you can name it whatever you want um at this point we're just testing out and that's why I call it test now if you have your test or your test PNG or whatever it's called I have it right here I'm going to copy or cut that out copy it and put it in my tiles two times folder now where do you have your folder probably inside your projects on like modding tools there should be a tiles folder and your tiles folder there should be a two times folder that means that all the tiles well let's let's rephrase that product it's all about ha like back in the day when they started they had little low risk quality images and then over time they make more high-risk stuff which is called two times because it's two times as big and in there are all the textures that we're gonna or tiles that we're gonna use so in there we're also going to put our tiles and uh you know keep it organized because otherwise things don't work now where are your projects all like monitors I hear a couple of you asking well that really depends on where you installed them if you got them from the forums you probably installed them somewhere manually um if you got them through Steam and I'm gonna hop over to my Steam folder you probably have them in Steam apps and then I think common and then you in there you have the project install mode modding tools and in there you can have your uh your stuff so there should be tiles and two times I have I have both of them installed just for this video um but you only need it once of course uh yeah so that's where you find your folder put it in a two times folder you can close that down and then the best thing to do is restart tiles it I'm gonna do that and I'm assuming you guys have done a little bit of work in building it in tile set so far I'm not going to explain that in this video If you want to get some info on that watch my other videos um but the thing you want to do is go to tools then tile sets that's going to load the little file hit tile sets and it should have the e or in my case e projects on with molecules tiles folder selected this should be different for you because you probably don't have it installed there but it should have the tiles folder selected and not specifically the two times why you ask well that's just how it works hit okay it can say oh we found some new tiles and it will be added to the list and that should be it you hit okay and then you can open up your building editor create it in my case a new building and then search for your tile sheet now this is capital or case sensitive so I do Capital test and I can find my little Cube and I can place it down and that looks uh looks interesting if you have all Bunch boxes all with the same virtue it's going to look weird but overall I think it looks nice now the key to making sure that all this art stuff looks good is to put some other stuff right next to it to make sure it fits in fits in with uh you know all the vanilla stuff that you can actually uh find let's put like a I don't know especially not vanilla stuff sure let's put a lamp there and although it's not a pretty Escape I think it doesn't stand out like you would have expected I think it kind of fits in even though it's it's a nothing resembling Q and that's kind of the point of what we were doing here and we got it into the building editor now how do you get it even game I think that's going to be a different video that's probably for after we actually drawn some proper looking furniture um but this is how you check your art and see if it actually is nice and fits into your environment I think this is key you can also do a mock-up in Photoshop just get all or you know or whatever just get a whole bunch of images in there and compare it that way but I think it's always nice to see it in the editor in the engine that you're working with um as always if you want to support me on patreon uh I'm all I'm all for that of course um I appreciate it very much it keeps me making well it helps me make these videos and you can always just like And subscribe and then I'll hope to see you guys in the next video and I hope you have a very very nice day foreign
