PRO PHOTOGRAPHER VS AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHER! | Nikon D3300 vs CANON R6

he already knows what he's doing i've got no clue the car is purple that's how much noise is in [Music] hey what's going on hope you're having a one tonight i'm gonna be versing my mate mitch who's an amateur car photographer in a little photo photography battle competition sort of thing that we're going to be doing but to make things fair since i've been photographing cars for years and had quite a bit of experience and mitch has had well none i'm going to be using this nikon d3300 with this 18 to 70 f 3.5 to 4.5 lens which if you don't know is worth about 60 bucks actually i think i saw one for 80 bucks to give you an idea of how what's the word i'm looking for here this camera is uh my sd card in it is worth more than the actual camera itself which would be interesting because mitch is using a canon r6 tonight which i don't know how much is worth but it's got to be at least a couple thousand dollars pretty much the basis of tonight we're gonna be doing three rounds three different locations photographing the same car and then once we finish taking the photos we're gonna come back we're each gonna edit them and then sit down and see what we shot and then i guess you can decide which photo you like better [Music] let's do this heads or tails i'm going to say tails it is heads right you go first oh no i can't steal his ideas now ten minutes in three two he's already started look at him guys [Music] what are you thinking bro first shot so i'm thinking i'm actually going to go i'm not going to shoot the whole car i want to create like a series of images that will complement each other so if i get like three shots of like just the car so i want to focus on like some of the details of the car first and i think this is a really good location so at the moment i've got the hundred mil which is like a really zoomed in lens i know mike's not going to be able to go this high on the iso so i'm going to flex on him and go for a 640 iso if you can bring it so that the car is in the middle of this line yeah just like that i didn't even think to ask him to move the car out i was just gonna shoot it where it was we got a time check please uh we've got six minutes 20 seconds is that four what have you been doing for four minutes you're the one being with him he's literally just been talking about the car and his settings like mate take the body photo you got 10 minutes you've taken seven minutes to take one photo dude i only need one oh what is that what is that like mist [Music] all right meet you you're dumb it's actually pretty sick yeah i don't it's all right i don't know it's all right is it good i wasn't expecting him to spray oh okay i may maybe uh maybe i underestimated three two one all right on your bike let's do it hop in and i'll give you directions right now we're going to do a side angle shot so come around okay i'm thinking direct side on because that looks hot keep the tripod i don't want to keep the tripod too high i want to keep it sort of in line with the car and i'm going to have the city lights let's see like the building apartment block lights in the background oh my god this camera's focus is so hard to get right can't you zoom it in i am but the zoom in is laggy the car is purple that's how much noise [Music] yeah it did good oh amazing it's actually pretty good man just remember the sd card is worth more than the camera yeah remember this hey actually i'm good i don't really need the rest of the time i'm done [Laughter] yeah we're done we're done [Music] all right next location it's a big tunnel it's got a good echo oh oh i'm gonna win no that wasn't funny okay nevermind oh sorry bro all right let's go let's go we need to do a u-turn dude my idea for this is to do like a from behind shot and then shooting with like the leading lines i swear if he do does that idea i'm going to be like real pissed um i want to try and make use of most of the tunnel as i can so i want to make sure the car is at the very end of the tunnel so it just looks like the tunnel is very long because that's what the tunnel is keep going back keep going keep going keep going hey dude this lens is all right for 60 bucks no is it actually can i say that's actually dude [Music] you're done you're done sorry i'm pretty happy with that i got some goodies i'm keen to see what mitch is gonna do actually i'm scared he took like 300 photos look at this he's already got his bloody tripod here is that cheating i don't know yeah hopefully this will work out are you trying to like frame the car in this shot yeah yeah i'm just going to use like sub framing so to actually frame the car up and obviously there's a lot of stuff going on here but i'm going to photoshop that all out later so that should be fun anything to be like anything anything for the shop boy this is actually going to be sick yes [Music] one minute [Music] yeah that was so much better than last time yeah honestly that felt like 20 minutes compared to last time i reckon mike put five minutes on okay what's up look at it what in his face yeah i'm happy as i'm happy for you bro why are you walking back [Music] all right last location for the night this location's awesome a lot of architecture going on here a lot of good lighting which is great you've got a black car with black wheels so you want to make sure if you're shooting it at night time you're getting as much light as possible onto the car and you know what i'm actually very surprised with the nikon i thought it would be a lot harder and to use but no it's it's it's held up really well for as much as i like to talk about the camera it's doing an amazing job probably better than mitch action heads heads tails i'm gonna go first oh you're gonna go first that's cocky yeah i'm gonna go first i was not expecting that i thought he was gonna throw me under the bus immediately but yeah no i'm actually rooting for him now and three two one go what lens i'm gonna use the 35 there's some road works up there so i hope he gets back in time yeah he could have just reversed and it would have taken 10 seconds but he decided to make him go around the whole block he's got three and a half minutes left i already got the light trail so i think i'm like pretty happy but here he comes here comes seven six five four uh i should have got a better variety i literally spend the whole time on one photo hope it pays off i've got a shot plan back over there wider shot i don't know how it's gonna work though because there's quite a bit of traffic that's been coming through here and i'm gonna try and do a three photo stack the lights on and off um it's gonna have to move really fast i guess i'm on a timer anyway but i hope this is i'm not gonna run into too much traffic or security guards or demons gremlins goblins it's done all right let's reverse it up already there's one car oh there's two cars coming already [Music] all right lights on how long three minutes 20. i can't believe how many photos he's taken he's got a minute left and i swear he's taking like 600 photos already tonight versus like four that i've taken stressed out bro we got something i don't know the focus isn't amazing on the ones that i got like the good ones but i might actually be able to save them we're gonna go home we're gonna edit these photos i haven't seen what mitch's shot he was sort of peeking on my photos but he hasn't seen my edits because i haven't even seen my edits yet so we're gonna go back edit these photos and then we'll sit down [Music] all my videos suck so this is the shittest exposure so you're welcome let's see him then okay but you ready for photo number one okay yeah i am this is yeah like that's the car park rooftop right yeah yeah this is really embarrassing for me by the way you spent four minutes running around yeah yeah i think yeah i know okay dude that's not even that bad that's actually sick with the spray that's the thing that i was most disappointed about this one was the composition i feel like i could have done a lot better yeah the black car um quite hard to shoot yeah for sure get the detail out black car black wheels at night time is yeah not something ideal but that's sick man that's actually really good yeah maybe maybe it could have pulled out a bit to get the whole car in shot like if that was going to be like your hero shot yeah but it's not bad by any means yeah yeah and like the lights are on which is great the wheels turned like the right way yeah it's not that bad at all okay dude that is so clean and then i thought these lights look really cool on the roof but there was only one strip of them on the left hand side that's right yeah and so i doubled them over to like kind of create more of a leading line and then i just thought why not just double over the higher background make it a more symmetrical yeah because the tunnel is not symmetrical at all i mean you can't park in the middle of it because there's like yeah that's stripper yeah yeah yeah yeah i just thought yeah and i i gave it a go because i wasn't sure it was going to work out and it just it actually worked really well and honestly the detail on that camera that's handheld isn't it um i think i shot this photo handheld yeah yeah that's amazing what happened to your other shot where you stood up on the yeah that didn't really work out i mean it was a good idea and i think it would have been a good photo had i had spent the time photoshopping it okay i started over like three or four times and i was just like look i feel like this is a better photo anyways no that that's good that was a safe option then yeah okay cool yeah it's sick okay i get what you mean with the long exposure yeah i mean obviously that was supposed to go all the way into the back of the car yes for it to be like a yeah yeah streak um but yeah it was so hard with all the traffic i'm sure you yeah yeah experience exactly the same thing that was hard um but good composition though obviously because of the traffic it was so hard to do this yeah i would have just put the car in the center at least in the road because it's like the spacing between the curb and the car here yeah yeah yeah there's a lot like a whole another car but obviously because of the traffic a nice edit as well is that using your presets uh i did use my preset but i dropped back a lot of um the colors like i dropped back orange and i dropped the yellow down a lot um alright yeah yeah i actually found this photo quite hard to oh that's sick but uh the nikon actually pulled through there's like a 30 second exposure yeah yeah um and i'm like f16 or something just to be able to get like somewhat decent quality out of the out of the car it's not it's not horrible yeah but i love how clean it is because you've used that background to contrast against the black car yeah which is something i feel like i didn't do very well because you shoved your car into a black corner yeah you're probably laughing at me yeah yeah cause i was like man like if it was any other it was literally any other color it would have been all right yeah yeah yeah i tried to get it in the middle of both those lights yeah to take advantage of of much lighting as possible and then i also walked in front of it with the light bar to light up the wheels and calipers yeah and then merge that with this photo because i was wondering i was wondering what you were doing with that light bar whether you were creating like a light trail or but now i see it was actually to light up the cast the car originally was much darker than this as well yeah okay so there you go second location was this oh so i did the same thing yeah instead of using two lights i just had the one strip yeah but i also found it because of the detail in the car i found it really hard to take out this light yeah i also made the ground symmetrical the tunnel on the side kept the strip of lights in the middle and painted that line yellow because it contrasts nicely with everything else but as you can see with the nikon like the lights don't like being edited so really i should have put this on a tripod yeah and done two separate exposures so this is handheld this is handheld yeah yeah like 1 15th of a second and yeah i'm still pretty proud of it with the timer that i have should be that's awesome and the last location here oh yeah pretty happy with this one like as you know it was so hard to try and get it because of the amount of traffic and i tried to do a a two-photo stack as well so i could get a longer exposure of the car to be able to get more detail out of it yeah but that's just the one exposure with the lights i think it's like one or two second exposure it's actually really clean i'm surprised like for the camera yeah that's really clean and i tried to make use of the architecture as well as much as i could contrasting like the little yellow colors yeah the colors and yeah it just yeah it all just works man i didn't expect any less though to be honest expectation is so high for me yeah nah dude you did really well i'm really proud of you to be honest that's
