UP. GOOD EVENING, I'M PEDRO RIVERA. >> JOE HAS THE NIGHT OFF. PROTESTS CONTINUE ON AND AROUND COLUMBIA CAMPUS TONIGHT, INCLUDING A GROUP OF STUDENTS STILL CAMPED OUT ON THE UNIVERSITY OF LAWN. THEY ARE IN SOLIDARITY WITH PALESTINIANS IN GAZA AND ARE DEMANDING THE UNIVERSITY DIVEST FROM COMPANIES WITH TIES TO ISRAEL. THE SCENE THIS EVENING, MUCH CALMER THAN WHAT WE SAW EARLIER THIS WEEK. TWO ARRESTS TONIGHT. SO FAR, THAT'S MUCH FEWER THAN THE 113 TAKEN INTO POLICE CUSTODY EARLIER THIS WEEK. EYEWITNESS NEWS REPORTER ANTHONY CARLO SPOKE TO SOME OF THE DEMONSTRATORS TONIGHT. >> SEPARATED BY A GATED FENCE BUT UNITED IN THE SAME CAUSE. PROTESTERS OUTSIDE COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY RETURNED SATURDAY TO LEND THEIR SUPPORT TO THE STUDENTS ON CAMPUS, WHO CONTINUE A SIT IN WITH THEIR SLEEPING BAGS AND BOOKS. >> THIS IS NOTHING COMPARED TO WHAT PEOPLE IN PALESTINE ARE DEALING WITH. PEOPLE IN GAZA, THEY ARE STARVING. THEY HAVE LOST EVERYTHING. THEIR THEIR HOMES AND THEIR APARTMENTS HAVE BEEN BOMBED. SO WE REALLY WE FEEL LIKE WE HAVE A MORAL OBLIGATION. >> LEYLA SALIBA SAYS SHE NOTICED SOMETHING IN THE GROUP TAKING PART IN THE GAZA SOLIDARITY ENCAMPMENT. EVER SINCE POLICE WERE CALLED IN BY THE UNIVERSITY THURSDAY. THE MASTER ARRESTS AND THE SUPPRESSION OF STUDENTS. >> I WOULD SAY THAT'S GALVANIZED US. >> THE MAJORITY OF PROTESTERS WERE CHARGED WITH TRESPASSING FOR REFUSING TO LEAVE THE SPACE IN VIOLATION OF SCHOOL RULES, AND SUSPENSIONS WERE HANDED OUT. >> HERE THEY ARE SHOWING LEADERSHIP AND THEY ARE BEING CENSORED AND PUNISHED FOR IT. AND IT'S WRONG. >> ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE PROTEST, A SMALL GROUP OF JEWISH COLUMBIA STUDENTS STOOD BY AN ISRAELI FLAG, NOT ABLE TO SPEAK WITH US ON SHABBAT. BUT ONE MAN TELLS US TWICE HE STOPPED PEOPLE FROM TEARING THE FLAG DOWN. >> WHEN I AM CONFRONTED WITH ANYTHING THAT SMACKS OF ANTI-SEMITISM OR IS ANTI-ISRAEL, THAT'S TRYING TO SEEK THE DESTRUCTION OF ISRAEL, I KNOW WHICH SIDE I'M ON VERY SIMPLE STANDING IN SOLIDARITY WITH PRO-PALESTINE DEMONSTRATORS, A JEWISH WOMAN CONDEMNING ISRAEL'S MILITARY RESPONSE IN GAZA AND COLUMBIA'S HANDLING OF THIS SITUATION. >> THEY'RE ON THE WRONG SIDE OF HISTORY. >> COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY, NOW COLUMBIA'S PRESIDENT, HAS SAID THE SCHOOL'S POLICIES FOR DEMONSTRATIONS ARE TO SUPPORT BOTH THE RIGHT OF EXPRESSION AND THE SAFETY AND FUNCTIONING OF THE CAMPUS, WHICH THAT ENCAMPMENT APPARENTLY VIOLATED. STUDENTS TELL ME THEY WILL CONTINUE PROTESTING UNTIL COLUMBIA, DIVESTS FROM COMPANIES THAT FUND GENOCIDE IN
