hbg smp stands for house builder gang smp and we started this on the 24th of july so about a week ago depending on when this video is going out and i have had such a blast on it i've been streaming it on the weekends and it's really cool because it allows us speedrunners to play the game in a way that people don't expect us to and we get to have a lot of fun playing minecraft in a traditional way with a whole bunch of other stuff there's definitely going to be a whole lot of twists and turns throughout the series and i'm really really excited to just keep streaming it and kind of show that i'm not just a speedrunner like i've played this game for a while i know how to build i know how to play survival and i'm really excited to just kind of share that with people and i i know on one of my videos i think it was the 1.18 snapshot video people in the comments are talking about oh my god i can't believe you were planning to do a hardcore series but ended up not doing it but this is the island cool let's go [Music] hello chat i think we have some talking to do okay so this is hbg smp we are here we are viving i am excited so this s smp does have some vanilla tweaks we do have some cool stuff we have as you can see there's a bunch of new advancements so if i go in my uh list here there's a bunch of stuff like a bunch a bunch a bunch a bunch of bunch there's proximity chat yes we do have proximity chat i just have mine turned off for right now i'll turn it back on once i like find a base and like when i'm building my house and stuff so all i'm doing right now is looking for a place to live although i am running out of food already i'd probably best to just get a cave i want to try and find a place that like people haven't been though you know i want to find a place that people aren't at this is a cool little area i actually really like those planes but someone's already kind of claimed it i want to go farther oh wait this looks sick this is this is more what i'm talking about chad i feel like i feel like whatever's on the other side of this is exactly what i want to see look at that waterfall wait wait a second here i feel like i'm a little close to land but this looks kind of sick hold on what about over here last little check i like this way more i feel secluded even though i'm not which is kind of the goal because i'm like you see like this is the only like it's not like i mean obviously it can use it as a building block but like i wasn't planning on using it not in this first build i do need an amethyst geode for this first build though let me wait what is this that's not deep slate is it smooth wait what when did oh yo yo oh my god i need this this is what i need shall we we don't need like a crazy amount of it leave it for later i want to make sure i get at least enough for my first build which i feel like if i grab like two stacks i might because like i think i need more than one stack but i definitely don't need like two but if i'm gonna go over a stack i might as well just get a double stack you know what who destroyed my forest what the heck what the heck [Music] you know what this actually works i could just build the house right here this is fine i think because we could just build the house here they they cleaned it out for me we make the we make the most of a bad situation we just we just make the most of this it's okay it's fine that's fine i have an insane amount of quartz from xp mining um we have a bunch of smooth sandstone that i need for our build we have sand i'm gonna need for our build we have calcite i originally didn't use quartz in the build but i honestly might end up doing so [Music] um where's my other block it was powder this doesn't look bad i had concrete powder before let's do a material check what do i need i need powder i have a bunch of cactus i should i should harvest these cactus actually this needs to this needs to be temporary i don't know what's happening over there but i would prefer if that is temporary i should have enough cactus for our build i don't need too much i should organize i should get a chest to organize what i need like move my building blocks for the house all my sand and smooth sandstone i'm gonna need a lot of cobblestone and andesite and more cobblestone i'll move this all over here really cure cool what else do i need stone slabs can be useful gravel can be useful calcite and quartz could be useful i need all my gravel actually ready oh my god i'm gonna need way more than that though i'm gonna need like at least two more stacks of that cool hopefully i didn't break my uh pawn by the way i would say this should just come back normally we're making progress i don't know why i decided to go with the green color palette for this it just kind of felt right purple like purple didn't feel right even though that's kind of my color scheme i wanted to go with something that was kind of different and i felt green was screen was really good okay well this should be enough concrete powder for at least a bit we can definitely make a good amount of progress with this i need the wool because i'm mixing in the wool for texture that's why i'm going for this wool as well i think i have everything i need i just need a lot more spruce wood no no no material is like unobtainable here okay let me pull up the screenshots and it's time to learn how to build i want to build it at a certain height too okay let's work out these dimensions okay so it's uh i gotta build it in the air too i need dirt okay you know what originally i didn't want to like destroy this terrain but i'm just gonna terraform it anyway so like literally who cares boom that should be enough just to get my bearings here i want to build it probably like you want to build it like here i got to pick the spa man [Music] i definitely want it either right here i could go here [Music] you know what we're gonna do it here [Music] this is how high up we're building it because this way i have like i can build like a foundation underneath it too if i wanted to there needs to be a good view i mean we'll have this and then there's going to be a tower part and that'll be able to overlook over to that um i believe this is five wide but i'm not sure one two three four five i think it's like that good we're already for four seconds and i'm already incorrect like this one two three bam it's five blocks off the ground no that's too high actually too high it needs to be [Music] no it's fine copium it's fine it's fine it's fine it's fine it's fine it's fine it's minus on the sides that's there then we do one of these bam do you see it do you see a chat this is the outline okay that's the outline this is the door this is our enter we're gonna have this is like another extra room this is like the main area and then back here this cobblestone part is a tower okay now we have to build it you design it yourself i did design it myself i did take inspiration from f whip f whip is a really good builder for people who don't know who that is oh i forgot the most important part bam much better okay so i'm very happy okay um this looks solid so the way that we're going to texture this is we're going to use gradients and we're going to kind of make it feel kind of more smooth sandstone at the bottom into sand at the top so not always like we could put a sandstone there we could do a sand three high we can still randomize it a bit but for the most part that's the that's the game plan we're going for here so there's gonna be a chimney here eventually i think this goes like four high though nice and then cobble obviously this cobble will eventually get textured i'm gonna do the texturing for this later because it'll just be way easier because for now it's going to be kind of weird so i guess next is just kind of roof huh i guess i i kind of gotta get started on the roof to get anything going here i could put in the floor too but like the floor is um it's a lot of spruce and dark oak i don't have a lot of streets in dark oak i mean i have it but i need i need spruce for the roof this is pretty straightforward at the start here i need this here and this is going to go like this um this roof gets a little bit wonky on this side so i got to be careful of that uh this side is pretty straightforward i know this side is actually pretty straightforward too it changes on the back it's actually a pretty complex [Music] roof this goes up obviously this is pretty standard and then we go back to very nice that looks good to me this right here is actually a stair not like that though no and then boom boom look at that all right this roof is done uh we could also do this roof so this one is upside down on this block which means it's normal here here and here and then let's place this upside down [Music] excuse me [Music] very nice this is all spruce there's no uh i could have taken better screenshots here why is there a wither um i don't care about the wither it's fine copium it's probably fine it's probably fine okay okay cool and then this gets built up this is like the weird interior part that i'm not sure how to work i need sandstone for this though and i don't have sandstone [Music] boom okay now hopefully it should be a bit easier nice and this is where the roof comes in [Music] it's gonna be something like this and this goes all the way down to here [Music] okay cool that's that i do have a cool window thing coming out here it's like this and then one more the three out it has to be three out three out and then boom boom boom boom and then i think i had this ow yeah that looks correct looks really good and then we had i think this gets destroyed no this gets destroyed i'm pretty sure and then we do window here and then i did i don't have any trap doors but what i did is i had a a grass block there so again if we get down to the front now that's kind of our front of the house we're getting somewhere this can do that i think it's gonna look so much better once it's terraformed too i also did like none of the real exterior work like this was the only like detail that i added to be honest pretty and then we do have another window as well which is here [Music] i just need the trapdoor thing again actually [Music] i need another flower though that is not that's the wrong block and then this gets deleted and then this gets a window bam pog oh i forgot this one cool and that one uh and then i do this again it's like that boom boom so it's gonna go i think it goes one more two i think it's like that you see it it's coming together it's coming together and then for example on this one it's like that so if i stand over here you will kind of start to get you'll kind of start to see it it's getting there it's getting there the the roof really ties it together and when i have um when i have a thing in the back the chimney too it helps a lot it's kind of hard to get it get a gauge of what this actually looks like because of it one floating and two having no decoration at all on the outside so this is actually correct i have to put this back now okay well i guess i'm doing that it's fine i'll pick it up in a second whatever copium scaffolding pepe panes okay what the hell man scissor came on just to make fun of me sad chad it's not floating look it's sturdy to the ground it's very sturdy to the ground look at it should we do a little bit should we do a little bit of a little a little bit of shaders real fast look at it it's a nice house and it'll look so much better when there's more detailing there's like no detailing besides like on this there's no detailing on the bottom yet and plus like when there's like trees and stuff oh my god dude did i did i make you guys proud did i did i do a good job i'm happy okay so game plan first is fill in the floor of this and by floor of this i mean one layer beneath it so i can put the actual floor in this feels very weird to do this feels very odd but it'll make sense eventually i swear this is actually technically going to be a grass block um cool [Music] i gotta pick this outline better i want it to like round out getting somewhere thank you earth i don't know exactly where the doors and stuff are gonna go but for now i feel like i can pretty safely do this [Music] okay um and then in here so if you were doing this technically it'd just be that um [Music] it's eventually gonna be a pillar up so for now i'll leave it like this and i need to get outside which is gonna be a little bit odd see this that works all right let's try this this is pretty good to get this to work yes okay okay what am i missing i'm almost i almost got it i need one in the front here and then i need who made this that you're making it from me i'm copying my own screenshot look at that yeah i think that fits the palette better in there and then i think most of the time here is a good first step this is gonna have to go up more i'm gonna have to do a roof in here at some point too [Music] nice how do you join the smp uh be a personal friend and also a top speed runner good luck and that's like the bare minimum i'm on it oh i'm very happy with this definitely overthinking this but that's not going to stop me from doing so i like that a lot pog i do that so they all face the same direction that'd be kind of hard right this is like almost done like i there's like obviously like i could add like some flower stuff i don't have grass on me or outside wood probably right now this is nice i really like this color palette actually this is a really nice color palette feels good um so one two three four and i was gonna put the bed here bam probably put another trapdoor here i don't think that i don't like the second one first one's good though because then it looks like it's open you know what i mean it actually looks like it's it looks like it's open i need to get you out of this corner look at me look at me i want you to stand like here you know what that's fine you can like question your existence over there that's fine all right you want to know the secret to making carpets boom you know what i can do for right now look at this amazing top tier s plus decoration incredible i'm literally the best ever what was i doing i was building a chimney i was building a chimney okay that and then this one can go there well it's kind of awkward actually because i gotta stand up here to three and then we do one of these ow i still burn on it ow ow ow i was hoping i wouldn't if i stood on the edge um okay bam cool easy peasy and i think with that i think with that we're gonna call it for now we made so much progress today but i'm really happy with how this came out so far so yeah very cool
