Prayers That Get God’s Attention (Mid-Week)

exactly right y'all still in love over there that's a blessing that is a blessing family we say good afternoon to all of you we thank god for your being in god's house and before we pray family uh we got i want to just kind of bring you up to date on uh homegoing services that we have pending and you know that's why we have to continue to stay on our knees all the way right you know it was just so sad that they found the young woman's body who had been missing almost a month over these three weeks ashley guillory and uh reverend clarence and his wife kathy are guard parents to her and um so there's no services pending the service is pending right now but they found her somewhere in the area of missouri city just not too far from here uh i want to remember the guillory family the williams family uh and also on friday we have just defeated ophelia ricardo who's 92 years old her services will be here at 10 o'clock on this coming friday morning so i want to remember the ricardo family as we prepare to minister to them sister virginia gibson who work along with a lot of our members here following most of the programs that you get on a sunday or wednesday she passed last week and her homegoing service is also on friday morning at 10 o'clock it will be at advantage funeral home uh and that's at 7010 chetwood drive houston 77081 and pastor james lee will uh be officiating her services and then on our family we have a nephew trinatus jones who passed a week or so ago after going through some diabetes issues and uh funeral is saturday it's on the north part of houston but we're going to do a re-pass so they they're going to take care of that but just remember the jones family uh uh on this coming saturday and then sister amy dennis husband uh trenton dennis up uh was made transition on his past wednesday i mean something monday and so we'll have his celebration service on this coming monday uh at 10 o'clock in the morning and that would be here uh and family you know and we still have a number of people that are still going through some storms of many kinds and so if you don't mind my brothers and sisters along with all the other stuff that's going on in our city uh we need to pray we need to pray heavenly father we just thank you god for this day we thank you for your hand of mercy and grace over all of our lives and father we know god we fall short of your glory god day after day god we fall short so we're coming today god confessing that god we need you father we love you and we ask oh god that you please oh lord forgive us of all of our sins iniquities and transgression anything and everything that contradict your holy and righteous word and then father would you purify us from all unrighteousness and continue god to increase a desire in us god to follow you even more father we know that you are the alpha in the omega of our lives we know that there's nothing too hard for you to do so we trust you god to continue god leading and and building and however you're drawing your people god we just want to be a vessel god in your hands so we ask god that you use us lord in a season like this one god touch the earth god every country god every people group god in the name of jesus because god there's pain everywhere there's death everywhere there's sickness everywhere in the name of jesus and since you are the creator of the entire earth god you touch it you're the only one god that can touch it master so god please master and then father however you want to use this church and all the things you do in to transform people's lives to help transform communities and for better days continue to lead and guide us god in our answer will be yes lord yes to your will yes to your way and your wishes now father would you teach us today please master teach us today and father we'll be ever so mindful and careful to return our praises all glory or honor unto you it's in jesus name we pray and we say amen and amen well again officially we say uh good afternoon to you and before we get into our bible study which is a timely bible study for a time like this one if you look on the very cover of the program you receive you will see information uh to invite you to join our prayer line uh we have it on zoom but you can also connect with us on your phone uh each and every night we're praying we've been praying over three years every night and i do know it's for such a time like this that god is drawing his children uh on their knees because it's just too many things that i cannot explain you cannot understand so we have to fall afresh upon our knees before the lord and our prayer would be that everybody everybody would spend time in prayer everybody amen and then today's message deals with prayers that get god's attention prayers that get god's attention and family uh first john uh can come and give us some things but also the book of james you know the half-brother of jesus he is known as a praying man a praying man and that's why he said at the end of chapter 5 in james he said the fervent prayer of a righteous man availed much much prayer much power but i know there are times when we pray and i'm sure i've been guilty of it many times that we do not pray for the right things or we do not pray with the right motives and many times our prayers uh go unhindered uh go unnoticed or unanswered and we find ourselves trying to dig ourselves out of this mess that we've caused and we want god to fix something that we can't fix ourselves but we're not willing to pray according to his will you see because we live in a land where man wants to run everything man wants to run everything if you really want to know why our world and why these united states a land flowing with milk and honey got all the technology in the world right here a power nation amongst nations question come in with all the resources we have why is it such a need that we even need a heavenly hands with all the resources in the world why do we have homeless shelters and why do we have guarded communities it's because in the heart of man it's a propensity to be in control of absolutely everything and if i have to step on you to get mine it is what it is but all through the biblical context of god's word god continued to share with man even to the point of 2021 you're not running nothin because a divided house cannot stand divided world cannot stand a divided nation a divided city a divided family cannot stand even when siblings in the same family don't get along you cannot stand a new phrase was coined just a few months ago through this pandemic it says we're better together but that's nothing new to god because he also shared with us in ephesians chapter number four he says let's keep the spirit of unity through the bond of peace he told us that we are better together if we unify on one accord and keep our eyes focused on him and at the end of the day we give him all the glory all the praise and all the honor i think it was 2008 when hurricane ike came and devastated this particular region and for those who were living in houston during that time you know houston was hit extremely hard people were without electricity for weeks in this community there are people in apartments that was actually taking bricks off of the building to make fire so they can cook food because these apartments was 100 percent electricity [Music] and then the reality comes in lee brown was the mayor during that time and lee brown said something and i think i i it it's befitting and it needs to be repeated many many times he says you know it's amazing it's amazing how much work we can get done when nobody cares who get the credit think about it for a moment if we just put our hands to the plow and if we labor for the lord not being concerned whether i get the glory or you get the glory how much we can work together to bring about the kind of fruits that god desires so if you don't mind family we're going to dabble in to some scriptures and god is going to open our eyes to a few things first and foremost the book of james chapter number four uh verse two three says this it says you desire and you do not have you murder and covet and cannot obtain you fight and wage war you do not have because you do not ask you ask and don't receive because you ask with the wrong motives [Music] so that what you may spend it on your own pleasures james come right in and say you know it's a privilege to pray but prayers are often just mere words that do not go as high as the ceiling of the room you're standing in because many times our prayer is more of a desire for god to do something but we do not want to be in the right mindset to receive it based on his will [Music] and then we look at the problems concerning prayers because we pray with a mask on we don't want god to know it's us that's praying because we know we not right that's why there's some folks that don't come into the house of god but they tell you tell them i need to prayer when over in hebrew it says the veil has been torn the curtain has been removed you do not have to go to another person to act as a matter of fact jesus said it like this in john 14 and 6 he says listen i am the way the truth and the life no man go into the father except through me and so when others are trying to access a prayer through you and that's why very seldom if ever you hear me say listen i need for you to lift me up in prayer why would i give my prayer request to somebody who might not even be connected [Music] your lights at your home is off but i'm gonna give you my light bill money to go pay my bill lord have mercy and so when james speaks he says listen when you ask you you ask the miss you ask with the wrong amen motives and you ask for things for yourself but it's not for the glory of god it's not for him and so the way god answers our prayers is in four basic ways you ready to write them down what we hope for all the time is for god to just answer us directly and says yes [Music] it's on the way that's the days we're excited all god is good y'all praise his name oh you're the only time god won't he do it yes he will nobody but not talk about my god they better not say nothing about jesus that's when god answers yes lord have mercy [Music] and then the second way god answers your prayers in a different way than what you were requesting lord have mercy you see because god know exactly what you need and this is important because many times what you're asking for god is already granted it you're just not in a position to receive it i said something right there i should have got some amens what you're asking for god has already granted it but you're not in position to receive it it's like amen you away from your home and the mailman delivered the mail and you complained why you receive nothing go home open your mailbox it's right there because according to matthew chapter number six it says listen you know why do you amen stress and worry about this that or the other what you gonna eat what you're gonna wear your clothing all of those things and it says your heavenly father knows that you need them but it says in verse 33 but seek ye first the kingdom of god in his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you everybody in here have a prayer request everybody in here got a little struggles we all at the altar of god seeking something even with all the money in the world you still got a prayer request [Music] because there are things that money can buy a matter of fact there's a lot of things in the best things in life amen there is no monetary value you can put on it talk about some peace you know it's better to be broke in living in peace than to have it all in case leaked lord have mercy so if god does not give us what we ask amen we may give he may give us something far better than what we're asking for so he answers differently so he sometimes he does it direct yes sometime he do it differently the third thing he may answer but the answer may be delayed god says wait and many times i have to learn to appreciate waiting because we are impatient people you let me go to heb and get four items and then looking for that line and say 10 items or less and you in that line with 10 12 items you think i ain't gonna jack your head you need to move you need to move this is for the express and i'm looking in their baskets counting their items making sure they only got 10 or less because i'm trying to get out of there i don't like waiting at no red lights why didn't i keep looking at the light and i'm not looking at my lighting look at that even when he gonna turn and y'all know we don't we don't stop at no stop stop we slowly turn that's why they invented fast foods we don't have time to be cooking no two hours we can run into mickey d's and then throw the burger together throw it out of the window till you get your drink in some old shake and you peel we are in that mindset that we want it and we want it now and god is saying you're immature you can't handle what you're asking for i want you to have it but you're not ready for it because sometimes even when relationships family and i can i i've been guilty of this program i jumped in that thing thunk and i was ready i wasn't ready for that thing woman want to eat every day [Applause] see all i was thinking about is just you know the nighttime is the right time to be with the one you love but then the dang sun came up [Music] missed the whole program but when you going to work what [Music] nasty four-letter word work so god delay it because family the greek verb used in the scripture amen it says we got to continue to keep knocking when god delay is not a denial he says you're not ready yet so i gotta position myself while i'm praying to make sure when the blessing drop i can handle it see a lot of people say boy i tell you what i'm gonna win that lot all this saturday and somebody said tonight you see that there they go they they know what it is they know i know the test they know what it is [Music] 99 of the people that win the lotto are not prepared to receive it because you haven't learned the definition of what money is for lord have mercy so if god is very direct and he says yes we're excited if he answers differently it works to our good because it's always better than what we expected if god say you need to wait i'm delaying the blessing until you get to where i need you to be that's a good place to be but then that fought one when god denies lord have mercy when god says no oh lord have mercy you ain't real he ain't real i went to that church and i had to pray for me to god to just bless me and blow me up and enlarge my territory and he did and that's where a lot of people are they don't believe that god exists i've learned to appreciate god knows you gotta read you gotta mature to get there lord have mercy you gotta mature to get there but i've learned to appreciate when god says no lord have mercy because when our prayers go unanswered family god is saying you see you're asking for something that you're not capable of handling how many times have people got in relationships when god says no but yeah i don't know the way i know him god said no or rev you don't know what you do to me rev god says no but we force what doesn't fit and then you live a lifetime of misery and regrets you have to learn to appreciate when god says no because god knows what's best for us i remember i got upset with american express you know i was a young man uh i was probably about 20 and they just sent me the green card i was happy because you know i was single man and you know when you had an american express credit card you established i had two jobs and you know and you know and i wouldn't charge anything just the status of having it you know when you went to a club and you threw that american express out there you definitely ain't going home alone hello sister august and i start preparing to get married and i went up above or way beyond our financial means and i had that american express card swiped so much in one month and it hadn't dawned on me i had to pay it in full at the end of the month they told me cut the card up before i was hurt i was hurt it took me about six years to clam out of that muck now i never filed bank bankruptcy i believe in paying my creditors i would do that if i got to pay you 25 cents a year i'm gonna pay you that's just who i am and then after i cleaned my list stuff up a little bit some kind of way they sent me an american express boy card was so excited i felt redeemed god you're awesome get a call today after receiving from the american express folks say sir we made a mistake don't you use that card and i've been boycotting american express ever since i don't want no call down they did me wrong but i've learned from that experience when they denied me i learned that i need to put more attention and learn about these credit cards because they are a major trap and sometimes god have to teach you a hard lesson are you going to be a slave to somebody else's business when you're paying twenty nine percent eighteen percent fifteen percent interest on a credit card and you got two dollars at the bank paying you a half a cent interest every month it's important when god say no grow to appreciate that no because over in the book of isaiah chapter 55 you look at verses 7 8 and 9 you see that you know your ways in your thoughts are not like gods his ways his thoughts his wisdom is higher above anything you can really comprehend so when god says no it's important over in first peter three and seven this is for husbands god tell husbands amen be considerate as you live with your wife because she is as a weaker vessel or your prayers will be hindered god says if you don't consider your gift as a wife because it says watch this the wife is a gift from god who he who finds a wife finds a good thing and find favor from the lord if you don't consider her is no need you're getting on your knees praying god's saying i am not listening so that's vitally important if you look there in john 14 verses 6 and then verse 13 through 14 it says jesus told them i am the way the truth and the life no one comes to the father except through me but look at verse 13 he says now whatever you ask in my name i will do it so the father may be glorified in the sun and if you ask me anything in my name i'll do it look at john 16 23 and 24 says basically the same thing in that day you will not ask me anything truly i tell you anything you ask in the uh as the father in my name he will give you until now you have not asked for nothing in my name asking you to receive so that your joy may be complete ephesians 6 18 say pray at all times in the spirit and with every prayer and request and stay alert with all the perseverance and intercession for all the saints first john 5 and 14 says this is the confidence we have before him if we ask anything according to his will he hears us psalms 6 6 and 18 says and if i have been aware of malice in your heart the lord would not have listened mark come in and jesus says mark 11 25 and whenever you stand praying if you have anything against anyone forgive him so that your father in heaven will also forgive you of your wrongdoing but if you don't forgive neither will your father in heaven forgive your wrongdoings and in matthew 21 22 it says and if you believe you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer lord have mercy you ready to start taking some notes number one always pray in the name of jesus always pray in the name of jesus when we go to god you have to go through the sun that's the only way you have access to god is through his son jesus christ not through a preacher not through a deacon not through the pope a prophet or prophetess it's only through his son jesus and so you must have a continual relationship communicating with god on a regular basis where he knows you and you know him why i'm pushing family i'm pushing for all of us amen to take every night from 10 to 11 o'clock go ahead and get on the zoom call with us get on the a prayer line with us for that one hour and let's give that to god only one hour you get 24 in a day can you give god one together with saints not only in houston but there's some call in from louisiana southern california some in atlanta calling in and they're hearing the prayers they're praying you're hearing the prayers and wouldn't you want to just pray with your pastor every night [Music] closing that day down in prayer asking god to cover us while we sleep in slumber we go through enough day by day so much that's out of our control at least when the night time comes we can come together in prayer and god has made it so easy you can be in your own home prayer when we pray we got to pray in the name of jesus there's no other name that has power because to pray in any other name then you are actually praying to false gods and you're praying in jesus name and you're praying for jesus to approve the prayer so he gets it and it goes to his father and anything jesus give his daddy he approve lord have mercy now you can hand me your prayer request if you want to i'm serious you can hand it to me but until you put it in jesus hands [Music] so you won't be looking at flesh to open up that door and provide a miracle that you need you pray in the name of jesus because it's only by his authority that prayers are answered second thing you got to pray in the spirit of god you can't just pray in the flesh the flesh is basically selfish lord have mercy the flesh is basically selfish now watch this family when the disciples ask jesus to teach them to pray now i want you to pay attention and he says when you pray pray our father which art in heaven hollywood be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give this day our daily bread and then he comes and said now i got to forgive our detox as god forgive us you hear the plural us all you cannot you cannot pray just in a singular tone [Music] because we're all connected one to the other and it's just like a parent a mom and dad you want all your children to be prayer warriors you want all your children to be saved and so when you pray you got to pray in the spirit and so you let the mind and for those who uh sometimes you're not comfortable praying because there's a lot of people even who have never prayed publicly in their life scared to death it reminds me sister tillman about a young boy family was getting ready to eat their dinner and a little boy raised his hand and said dad listen i like to go ahead and pray for over our meal and stuff [Music] say well son you know i'm proud of you yeah everybody bought their head little junior gonna pray for us they bow their head got quiet they couldn't hear junior you know how it is you start looking around and the father said uh junior you need to start praying he said i am praying he said no no we didn't hear you the junior said i wasn't praying to y'all see many times we want others when the bible is very clear when you pray in the spirit you ought to think that the holy ghost amen give you the unction and when you pray in the spirit there is no intimidation you're not concerned that the noun is not a man coming up on the verb and then the pronoun is not coming in and so it's not a structured path when the spirit take over in your prayer you pray the will of god because the spirit knows the will of god and it will lead you in your prayers head prayers won't move mountains spiritual prayers will that's why it's important that we pray in the spirit because this flesh is basically selfish it will lead to its own glory so the fourth thing family or the third thing i should say how many i gave you two right the third thing we ought to pray according to god's will we have to pray according to god's will the only way to know god's will if you spend time with god the only way you get to know a person is you spend time with them intimate time with them and so you have to spend time in the word you got to get to know who god is you got to really get to know who his son jesus the christ is and just for a lesson for you down the road when you go into the o the new testament you know you have mark luke you have mark luke you have i mean matthew mark luke and then you have john this is signoptic gospels they call them and you know matthew had a focus to the jews that's who he was called luke had a focus because he was a physician uh he normally ministered to the outcasts those who were kind of left out the book of mark was the first gospel that was written and matthew and luke had bird's eye view on what mark had wrote because it's the shortest of those three particular books but when john comes on the scene john what he does he actually plead the case that jesus is who he say he is so if you want to know who jesus is just embellish yourself in the book of john and when you get there don't read it as you're reading a magazine or an article get into your prayer closet take one bite at a time don't try to swallow four chapters take one scripture at a time and digest it and have three or four things going on at one time have your commentary over here have different translation of the bible right before you so god's spirit can take what's on that paper and install it inside here so you understand that jesus is a miracle worker so you won't be just shouting just for the sake of shouting you'll be shouting because you know you won't be saying amen because everybody else is saying amen you're saying amen because you know you know what he can do because you know him so you have to pray in the father's will for you praying in the spirit because prayer is not an exercise to bend the ear of god to do what you want to do now watch this family the prayers that gets to heaven is the prayers that starts in heaven praying the father's will you see prayer is not some method by which man on earth gets his will done in heaven prayer is a method where god in heaven get his will done on earth so praying the will of god is knowing god's call for your life you know when you know what you've been called to do is not work anymore i better say that again you know the lord i thank god for his favor i thank god for using me wherever god want to use me i say yes that's just who i am i just say i'm so i'm sold out i i don't know i don't i'm sold out and i thank god for that and a lot of people say well pastor you know you you run a lot you you run too much you got to slow it down you got too much on your plate you know you've been preaching for the last 18 months every sunday three services you're pushing it when most pastors preach one time and they all for the rest of the week you have to understand something when you're in your call and you're doing what you've been called to do it's not work it's not work so you must know what your call from the lord is because god has called all of us to do a great work and you can't copycat somebody else's work god has called your own race just for you because he created you he made you he know what he put in you and that's why a lot of people are so unhappy because they're trying to fit in somebody else's personality a person's gift but when you know what you've been called to do is not work look at miss laura miss laura she loved to cook lord have mercy in the girl can cook i gotta put the staff on a weight reduction program i mean could she use real butter i mean if if you know but she's in her gift if you ever went in the serving line when she's serving it's not like going to popeyes like you doing them a favor for showing up it's in her heart it's pleasantry when you're in you're operating out of your gifts it's not work it's not so knowing your call from the lord makes it easier for you to just go ahead and fall in line to do god's will the next thing family the fourth thing when you pray you got to pray in obedience lord have mercy you got to pray with a spirit of obedience to what god says because i you know and this is the hard truth and i told you over and over again but it is the honest truth a lot of people thought i was crazy because i wouldn't close the doors of this church and some even said other pastors i'm being irresponsible in 1992 when god called me into ministry and i accepted the call it was not predicated on circumstances it was predicated on his wheel [Music] and someone assumed [Music] that satan when the pandemic hit satan quarantined himself satan's honor covert out there and family i believe in my heart of hearts even though i respect that's why i tell people encourage people get vaccinated i respect that piece of it but in my heart of hearts the church have power there's power in the name of the lord if you're going to pray you've got to pray in obedience to the word of god not by the popularity or the circumstance the situation because i read the bible and i read in exodus where god sent plagues because of the disobedience of the people i read where god let the rain fall until the whole earth was consumed and only that which was in the ark survive i read where god can move mountains just with a little faith i've read that no weapon formed against me shall prosper i read i read if god before me is more than the world against me i read the lord is my shepherd i shall not want i read [Music] and when you walk in obedient to the word of god and you pray in obedience god will move those mountains in the midst in the old testament when the blood was placed on the post of the homes because they were in the protective arms of the lord it said the death angel hot scotch over those homes so when you think about obedience in your prayers you must obey that everybody don't have my call i didn't ex i didn't think expect people to be here but i know i had to be here everybody got to make their own decision but i knew i had to be here because i don't believe a person ought to get paid when they don't work so you pray in obedience it is foolish to pray if we have unconfessed sins in our hearts when god say you got to forgive others you got to forgive others [Music] you got to forgive others to harbor a hard heart to not forgive it will be to your detriment in the book my face let me just go there matthew chapter 18 while i got you here before you run on out of here and this is the parable of the unforgiving servant matthew chapter 18 beginning at verse 21 it says then peter approached him and asked the lord how many times shall i forgive my brother or sister who sins against me as many as seven times jesus responded in verse number twenty two he says i tell you not as many as seven jesus replied but seventy times seven and it says for this reason the kingdom of heaven can be compared to a king who wants to sell accounts with his servant when he began to settle the accounts one who owed ten thousand talents was brought before him since he did not have the money to pay it back his master commanded that he his wife and his children everything he had be sold to pay the debt verse 26 says at this the servant fell face down before him and said be patient with me and i will pay you everything then the master that servant had compassion and released him and forgave him of the loan now watch this this is the same servant in verse 28 that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred daenerys he grabbed him started choking him and said pay me what you owe and that this his fellow servant fell down and began begging him be patient with me and i will pay you back but he wasn't willing to listen instead he went and threw him into prison until he could pay what he was old when the other servants saw what had taken place they were deeply distressed and when he reported it to their master everything that had happened then after he had summons him his master said to him you wicked servant i forgave you all that debt because you begged me to shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant as i had on you and because he was angry his master handed him over to the jealous to be tortured until he could pay everything he owed so look at verse 35 so also my heavenly father will do to you unless every one of you forgives his brother and sister from your heart [Music] lord have mercy god is not playing with us to not forgive another person regardless of what it is is to your own detriment because god hath forgiven me a lot and i cannot forget his grace his mercy so why in the world i would place myself in a position to where i wouldn't forgive my brothers and sisters who have sinned against me you know the bible call us hypocrites when we don't forgive our brothers and sisters but yet we want our heavenly father to forgive us and some people say well i'm not there yet you better get there otherwise your prayers will not be answered the way you want them to paul says this in ephesians uh chapter number four he says this in the last two verses of that particular uh chapter he says let all bitterness anger and wrath shouting and slander be removed from you along with all malice verse 32 says and be kind and compassionate to one another forgiving one another just as god also forgave you in christ jesus [Music] so as a christian you keep holding on with that unforgiving heart you'll live a life of regret i close with this because my time just kind of flew by today one of my favorite movies and you know it the color purple near the end of the movie almost suge avery father's a pastor and she was living that worldly life singing dancing and hanging with mister in the presence of missely lord have mercy and mr's daddy said she got that woman disease she tried to go and see her father but he wouldn't see her wouldn't see her because he despised the life style that she chose but as the movie got further on and you know the juke joints they get the rocking about four in the morning on the sunday many of us know about these hole in the walls when the clubs never close when you're in small towns like my little city of abbeville there's a place called the front in the front had about 12 clubs in a one block area and the block is no longer in here to the back wall and people need would waddle from one club to the next all night long and the party would not stop i remember my stepfather would leave on a friday after getting paid after getting a little shower whatever he would do he would leave on a friday around five see him sunday evening at 4 30 yes sir he was there so shook had been in the world so she was parting some more on that sunday morning and then she heard a song she was familiar with if you have never seen the movie go home and see color purple now you need a big bag of popcorn because that's a three hour movie don't go in there with a jiffy bag you need but when she heard the song she was in the juke john she heard the song that god is trying to tell you something and she was singing the blues and singing you know the rhythm and blues and she was had the club hopping but she heard [Music] god trying to tell you something all of a sudden the holy spirit struck her and she left the club walking and because of who she was people from the club followed it where she was going by that time the church is rocking but now suge is singing the song god trying to tell you something and her voice on the outside was getting louder than the voice on the inside the church and even the one that was singing the choir member had to stop singing because she heard she came into the church her father was standing in the middle like where i am head on his black robe she came all the way up and she hugged her daddy he hesitated for a minute but the holy spirit brought that conviction [Music] he wrapped his arms around his daughter and then she told him if you remember daddy sinners have souls too [Applause] you remember sinners have souls too we must pray and in the last couple i got to give you pray in the fellowship of the body of christ pray in faith pray believing that god's going to do it for you father in heaven we thank you god for this day i thank you lord for the privilege of praying god according to your will and i just pray in all of our lives god you would increase our prayer life to you that father we can be on one accord praying your will not for some of us but for all of us and please lord keep guiding us please jesus and father would you receive your tithe your offerings your gifts to the body of christ here at bethel's family and even those online god will be committed to sowing into a ministry like this one use it for your glory in jesus name and we say amen and amen family while the deacons come quickly and take care of time of giving let me give you a couple of things i want to reiterate because some of you came in after i gave some announcements we do have sister ophelia ricardo's homegoing service on this coming friday at ten o'clock viewing from eight eight o'clock to ten o'clock then service start at ten is coming friday and then miss virginia gibson uh her funeral will be also on friday at 10 o'clock but it as at advantage funeral home on 7010 chatwood uh pastor lee will be officiating that service uh trinatus jones funeral is on the other side of town that's in our family so we got that one covered on saturday then brother trent dennis homegoing service is monday uh 8 30 to 10 o'clock viewing services start at 10 o'clock on this coming monday since the amy dennis uh spouse also shared with you uh miss ashley guillory the young lady that had been missing for almost three weeks well body was found yesterday uh reverend williams says cathy williams god's daughter and they haven't made any arrangement at this time but i did speak with reverend williams this morning and tell them we're just praying for their family because it's it's terrible it's terrible uh choir rehearsal tomorrow night uh for anybody want to join the choir is first sunday uh this coming sunday so we know we do lots up in all services uh and for all of us who have louisiana roots uh you know in the last nine months for sure i've been working also in louisiana to help the schools and help the communities so on sunday i'm going to be we'll be sharing outside a place where you can join us in our effort to build a facility in vermillion parish that will eventually house a charter school grade six to grade twelve also bring a health unit a health clinic in the facility provide job placement and job training and also do business development development that's some offerings in the back they still got them raised up everybody um provide job training and provide what we do here but do it there to make a difference in that hometown hopefully you'll get a chance to see uh that building it's the the architectural architectural drawings are 99 complete and it's been a heavy load uh because just the architectural stuff was over four hundred thousand dollars we put a strong board together down there and it's going to come to pass because god is in it and what they're doing in louisiana they're going to the churches and sharing about the vision and asking uh the members of the body of christ there would they join in membership of the organization and help support it on a monthly basis or quarterly basis and so you get a chance to do that on sunday but there will be a table in the corner and you'll see the picture of the building in the whole nine yards it's state of the art and part of this building uh it will be the best educational facility in the state of louisiana and and and here especially with middle school and high schoolers and it's on the corner of mlk in schlesinger so it's being built right there in the hood where crime happens all the time we need to give our children and their families something to hope for and my prayer would be that the schools in other cities and other communities will begin to look around and realize we have to do better for our children we have to do better for our communities if we want a better community we can't sit back and wish it amen because you got to remember god people built the schools god's people built hospitals god did that the hospitals were built by the church the educational facilities were built by the church and let's not ever get out of that business [Music] because the bible says my people are perishing for the lack of knowledge and we're going to be a people with a mind to work so you'll get a chance to join in our efforts on this coming our sunday there'll be a table you can kind of see it there'll be a video that you can kind of watch but for all of us from louisiana definitely is something we all can take some some pride in and say god use us to do that amen is there anything else i missed i don't want to miss anything past holmen we're good deacon hunt your wife had a boxing glove on back there did you see that she beating you we got to bring her to the altar oh your son gave her that well pastor carrie gave it to her and then she tried to whip me with that i had to correct her i like stuff like that y'all be gone [Music] wow what an awesome message the lord provided to us challenging yes but empowering always
