Post-move Updates! | High-Rise Studio Living in Downtown Chicago |

hi guys we are jumping straight into um apartment as it is today is sunday um so i moved in on thursday and i've made pretty good progress so i wanted to take you guys through um so this is the entryway um i have the rug i used to have in my kitchen at my old place there i'm not keeping that over the door kind of rack but it is just being um kind of useful at the moment but my plan is to get um a coat rack and put it in this corner since those monstera and palm um palm leaves that like little fake arrangement there is i'm not staying i think everything else i've gotten figured out and i really like i'm going to be putting i think probably not a mirror because i have a couple mirrors already in my place maybe either a piece of art or a photo or something on this blank wall here but i'm really happy with um kind of the way the little foyer area looks these are all my empty green boxes that are going to be picked up on wednesday i think um this is the state of my closet so this is the last kind of big thing to organize you can see i have a ton of crap on top of my dresser that big box has all the clothes that belong in the dresser um yeah i didn't think i had that many clothes and then i don't know i feel like i still do so i'm definitely going to go through and i want to do another declutter at some point of all my clothes and some more things in those various baskets up there because i do definitely think that there is more things that i can get rid of um and then this little linen closet this is pretty much done so i my laundry stuff up there linens pots linens more linens my toolbox and more potting stuff but i think this is pretty good um my bathroom i'm just trying to figure out what plants i want to put in here if i do want to keep plants in here i have this grow light kind of hanging off the light fixture it looks a little janky um but i would need to grow light if i keep some plants in here um i just have candle a little decor um i do really like the shower curtain i got at target but yeah bathroom is pretty much done hi tamara and then i have gone back and forth so many times with this bed and whether or not it's going to face this way or with the head facing um against that wall i literally have moved it probably three times just trying to decide even though honestly it doesn't really make that big of a difference um but yeah so there's that i have my mirror here that little vase of pompous grass that's going to stay there and then i have my orientation of my couch facing this way which is different than my move-in video so i think that this is the way i want to keep it my tv here i may or may not get some bar stools i haven't really decided um this little pile of stuff here i mean the books and that random stuff is the last pile of stuff other than the closet that i need to um put away but i am really happy with the way that living room looks so i have my shelves all kind of styled here um i have some shelves underneath that shelf i have to decide what's happening in my art um with these two walls so that's kind of something that will be decided later on and then here's the kitchen so as you can see i still have plants everywhere um i'm waiting for a little a little shelf little metal shelf um from target that's going to go where that ladder is um and then some of the plants are gonna go on that shelf because obviously it's looking a little bit crowded i can't really use all my counter space um i think this little grouping of plants is gonna stay obviously my floor plants are gonna stay there i think i'm gonna keep my three hoyas um over in the corner over here and then obviously a couple of them on the counter and then maybe one on top of the fridge but then the other ones are gonna go on that on that shelf when i get that um but yeah i have a blank spot here next to the bed which i may get an ikea cabinet to go there but i sort of like how i sort of like the negative space um just because i am going as i've said in multiple videos just kind of for more minimalistic look even though my kitchen definitely doesn't look like that right now um so that is definitely kind of still up in the air i am going to get um a new nightstand since the movers did break the glass top of um a table i was planning to use this nightstand which is fine because it's really old i've had it for a long time so that kind of makes me a little sad but honestly it's okay so and then that wooden stool that's um currently the nightstand there will probably come over to that side of the bed and maybe put a couple plants on that that's what i'm thinking [Music] but yeah so i feel pretty solid with how things are looking um yeah i'm really really happy with uh the way everything has turned out i kind of been able to style everything so far but i think that the um it's really really great how everything kind of fits in here it definitely doesn't feel too crammed um but yeah i really don't have a ton left to do other than you know organizing some more cabinets um that's gonna be in a later video which will kind of be a before of my old apartment situation and then this kitchen situation and then other than a declutter and the organization of my main closet over here i'm feeling really good yeah so other than the nightstand hug is and the coat rack for the entry i think i'm pretty much all set there isn't really anything else that i want to get uh in the short term you know in the long term i'm thinking maybe of doing a different console table but i kind of like how open that one is with the baskets underneath maybe eventually a different chair um maybe and then i do want to get a kind of grown-up bed frame so those are kind of like long-term plans um and then like i said eventually maybe some stools as well but other than that i'm feeling really happy with how everything has turned out so thanks for tuning in guys and i will see you next week
