EMPTY High-Rise Apartment Tour (LUXURY)!!! | Downtown Chicago, IL

hi guys welcome back um to my channel and today as you can probably tell by the echo in here we are doing an empty apartment tour so i'm super duper excited um to be moving in this apartment um in 10 days now so i know my last couple videos i've been like oh it's x-men days and you know then this amount of days so it's 10 days out from the move i barely have packed but to be fair the reason i haven't packed is because i'm waiting for my boxes to be delivered um i decided to do something a little bit different this year for moving um i actually got this idea from a video by a youtuber named janae daly and if you don't know her videos in your into lifestyle home decor she does amazing amazing videos i will be sure to link her channel down below but she recently moved into a new apartment um in i think she's in la and she talked about these green boxes and basically what they are instead of having to buy or get um cardboard boxes and use those for moving you can rent these green boxes and then you they deliver them obviously whatever time frame that you want before your move so i chose about a week out and then you pack them up your movers move them from your old place to your new place and then you unpack them and then they come and they pick them up so basically you don't have to worry about you know boxes and how you're gonna dispose moving boxes all that kind of thing which is super great so um i decided to go with that but let's go ahead and jump into this empty apartment tour guys all right so when you first walk into the apartments um the door is behind me but there's kind of this little foyer spot right here in the entryway so i'm gonna put my glass console table there but you walk in and then the most exciting thing about this apartment is here oh my god you can tell i'm an adult because this is what i get excited for but i finally have in unit laundry if you guys know um if you watched my video about why i decided to move this thing here was a big reason why so i'm really really excited um i cannot wait i literally can't wait to do laundry like who am i so that's that and then over to the left here i have a couple different closets let me just turn on the light so i have my big walk-in closet here um i don't know the dimensions but i would guess that closet to be i don't know five by five like it's a pretty hefty walk-in closet um i'm gonna be putting my dresser from my bedroom in here i am downsizing from three closets to this one but it is so large that i'm sure that this square footage for this closet is bigger than the three combined that i have so i'm super excited about that i have some storage solutions i think i'm um are going to work so i'm going to have lots of videos about that so that is that closet and then we have this guy which is the linen closet um which i may use this for linens but i don't really have that many linens um it's actually really tall so i'm going to figure out how i can utilize that vertical storage space um yeah but anyway so i probably won't obviously fill this with linens but i'm going to be using this maybe as extra pantry storage and then um a place for a lot of my stuff for my plants so the pots the soil all that kind of jazz but i'm super excited by that closet here so you come back out in the hallway this is the bathroom i mean nothing super crazy here but i am excited for the storage because if you saw my apartment tour of where i live right now i just have a pedestal sink um this is not a medicine cabinet which it's like good and bad because i don't love the way that medicine cabinets look um but i am glad that there is going to be some storage here i mean these drawers are deceiving because they look like they're going to be really big and then they're not that large but i think i don't have a ton of stuff in my medicine cabinet now so that will be more than adequate storage um but yeah nice big counter so i'm super excited by that toilet um and then you have our regular shower tub combo i am gonna miss my um walk-in shower because i really do like that about my current space but this bathroom is literally probably easy twice the size of what my bathroom is now so excited for that and then you come out into the main living area guys so i'm gonna try not to completely show you a view out my window unfortunately for safety reasons um but this is the main area here and it is a studio so i am losing a a one bedroom for the studio but it is really spacious i'm gonna actually i have all the dimensions of my furniture so i'm going to go around and kind of measure and tape off but i mean you can see i have these huge crazy huge windows that i'm super excited about and you can already tell it's a cloudy day but there's already so much more light in this apartment versus my old apartment so i just cannot wait you can see i have some plants that i've already started to bring over this is literally like not even a third of my collection one two three four five yeah no it's not even a third of my collection even though i am downsizing i did sell some plants so um but i have some here and then obviously this is the kitchen there's that little island there that i'm really excited to get some more counter counter space and then all these cabinets full size washer and full size dishwasher range and oven and fridge so i know it's kind of a dumb thing to be happy about full-size appliances but i haven't ever had full-size appliances in my kitchen so i'm excited about that and just all this storage is going to be really great because again if you've seen my current setup i think i have one two cabinets and then one under the sink cabinet and that's it so very minimal i don't have a ton of kitchen stuff but i'm gonna be glad to be able to spread it out so that's pretty much it guys really short and sweet obviously it's not a huge place but it is one of the nicer apartments i've lived in and then this building um it is downtown i'm not specifically going to say what neighborhood it is but it is downtown chicago so i'm leaving lincoln park um but i am going to be closer to work which i am excited about and the building has a lot of amenities that i haven't had um i realize i am super duper lucky to be able to be in this kind of place in this sort of apartment i've lived in some pretty crazy apartments like the one in new york city that i lived in wasn't super great so i've realized how lucky i am um and that i've worked really hard to be able to have you know this kind of nice place i definitely appreciate that but i can't wait to get in here and i'm really excited for you guys to come along and see my whole moving process kind of how my furniture from how my um furniture from my one bedroom kind of fits into this you know space that is technically more square footage um but you know less rooms but yeah i can't wait to show that show that um video to you guys i will definitely be having definitely another declutter with me of my clothes closet coming up and then some i think before and afters of kind of how i have my kitchen and storage and then in my old apartment versus my new apartment so lots of fun moving
