I had a Macan S as a daily for 2 years. It was a 80k sticker. It’s probably the perfect daily car. Its very very quiet. It’s super smooth. It tries to, but it never feels rwd. It had the extended leather and the carbon fiber. It is a very, good luxury car. Under hard acceleration you can feel the fwd roots of the chassis. It’s probably not an enthusiast’s car, but I would highly recommend it overall. I'm not surprised there's so many of them on the road. Plus it looks much better than even the current Cayenne imo.
The Macan EV will print money
From the bottom of my heart to everyone around the world: Thank you for buying the Macan and Cayenne.
And whoever thinks the Macan is in any way comparable to the Q5 when it comes to driving dynamics drive both and then tell me more storyteller.
This guy has helped me see porsche SUVs in a different light.
At first glance they seem like money-printers that enable making the low-volume sports cars. But Geese man does a great job showing that a lot of effort is put into them to be excellent in their own way.
And with performance vehicles in general getting too fast for our roads, this has a great value proposition.
I still prefer smaller vehicles tho.
The why not get two car argument is not bad, but it just doesn't apply to everyone honestly. Not everyone wants to pay and maintain an SUV for the wife, truck for home depot, sports car for the weekend, etc. Some people may be sharing a single car and want it to scratch all the itches.
I honestly could see myself getting this thing and just having it for the wife (so I can enjoy driving it as well when we are together) and then having a Home Depot beater truck and my bike for personal use.
Gorgeous blue. I love the interior layout of the Macan. Yes, it's a ton of buttons and it is actually a bit overwhelming at first - but after a day where you get acclimated to the layout, the buttons are irreplaceable. One thing that isn't covered is just how good Porsche button tactility is. These are some of the most satisfying buttons to press in a car.
If I had some real money and had only one car it would definitely be a Macan
I’d like to point out a feature that doesn’t get highlighted as much as it’s performance features—Macan’s off road capability. For a RWD-biased car, it has great traction on snowy roads. You feel the rear slip and the TC always puts the car back in place. If conditions gets real bad, the Macan’s Off Road mode makes the Macan unshakeable. I’ve driven Wranglers and 4Runners and those cars does not give me the confidence that the Macan does when speeding in a blizzard with 4 inches of snow on the ground.
Oh, and I love the fact, that just like true sports cars, the faster you push the Macan, the smaller and the more agile it feels.
Just amazingly engineered cars.
Would you all rather have a pre-facelift Turbo/GTS or a post-facelift Macan S? I'm seeing 2018 Turbos and 2020 S's for ~$60k.
I'm moving to a macan from my 2018 M2 for life reasons (this will be my DD) and while I know it's apples and oranges, I want to retain as much driving fun as possible. With that said, I'm wondering if I'd rather have the more modern interior than the extra power since it's not a dedicated sports car. In an ideal world a high-mileage CPO 2020 GTS will pop up for sale, and I might wait it out for that specific year/model combo in my price range.
