Pole Barn House & Shop Tour

[Music] [Music] welcome to our off-grid homestead we're going to kind of show you like a flow through the house so come down the driveway and then into the shop this is our wood burning boiler that heats our concrete floors that's the heat for the house and the shops uh there's a bunch of woodwork and stuff we got going on this is all for a big custom job that's coming up and this is some little stuff that i've already done just made to make and then we have so we've added this recently it's a 24 volt deep freeze this is our the other half of the boiler system this is the pump the only electricity in the system and then it just pumps the water through the floor we have our solar room closet we'll call it solar closet which we've done a video on that system and our shop has a half bath for the shop and then this is the door like if you park in that bed outside this is the door that comes in from there so then we're going into the house side and so then we have kind of like a universal everything room kitchen dining room combo all the ceiling stuff that's all stuff that we milled on our meal so most of that is poplar and then the big beans and post are hickory so as you circle around this is our kitchen and then these are hickory cabinets which we did not make we bought those and then this goes into our master bedroom which it's not big but it is big enough for us and then we have a master bath downstairs and so it's a got a sink toilet and a walk-in shower and then we have our pantry which is like everything else still not finished still needs a door we didn't want to wait to our finish to show everybody because people might get tired of waiting we made this little play area underneath the stairs for the girls and we've started decorating for our halloween and then we'll go upstairs so you get the top of the stairs we've got this little like landing loft area and then we have bedroom one i guess you would call it this will be our guest room eventually we're gonna make some sliding barn doors to go on that and then this will be the guest bedroom we have our laundry room we have and then the upstairs also has a full bath and then we have this is the girl's bedroom which i finally got flooring down so now i can build bunk beds so that's on the list of things to do and then we have our attic we made it inside access and it's all insulated and climate controlled so that just we can store in it but we don't have to go outside to get to it a lot of storage a lot of stuff so this is the downstairs part of the house the house is 1500 square feet three bedroom two bath with a half bathroom shop and that's about 900 and something downstairs 500 and some upstairs plus the storage area a little over 200 so we'll take you now we'll go out the back door which to most people looks more like the front door to our porches that we've done outside so this is rough cut stuff that we cut on our mill from logs here on the property and built this porch is about 52 feet wide once it's still got to finish this corner once i move the water tanks this corner gets filled in and then concrete gets poured down that side so at that point it'll be about a little over 60 feet this is our latest addition it was this porch we just cut this wood and built this part recently so i had to tie it into this roof so this is the wood workshop part so from the other side it'll make more sense now we'll take you over there and show you in there so this is the wood workshop slash with storage shop because right now we have a bunch of loot sword in for future projects i'm excited about doing this one this is a spalted poplar stump root ball that i dug up so that'll make an interesting piece but yeah so this is so i can keep the dust out of the rest of the shop because pretty much everything gets covered in dust if it's around where you're working so that's the woodworking shop right there this is our main shop and garage and then we've got a side shed over here which is supposed to be a porch we're going to pour concrete in there soon [Music] [Music] so [Music] you
