picking up YORKIE PUPPY | first day home | new puppy parent what to expect | The R&D Couple

so today is the day before we pick up charlie i don't know if i'm doing it right oh my [Music] god tonight we're gonna do some quick puppy preparation because tomorrow morning we need to get up super early to go pick him up and we need to be at the breeder by 9 a.m but at the same time i'm trying to fill up this calm and i have no idea how to fill this with peanut butter so i'm using a chopstick i don't know if i'm doing it right now let's take a look at the other preparation that we've been doing so let me show you where we're planning on setting up his crate this is the corner that we're gonna set up for charlie there's a bed this is his food bowl drinks this is gonna be his toys and then we also have this which is a play pen that we're gonna set up tomorrow when we get hair this is a unicorn bed that i got him which is super cute and now this is the carrier that we got for charlie so i'm gonna bring his toy he has a really cute red harness with a leather leash that's pretty much everything that i prepared so good night guys we'll see you tomorrow all right bye good night [Music] outside at the breeders plate and waiting for her to pick up the door we can go in and see charlie how are you feeling nervous nervous rachel really needs to pee because you drink so much coffee this morning screw it i'm holding it [Music] why don't you come sit next to me oh my god you're so small is he like cold that's why he's shaking yeah oh and then okay you should put one hand here like me use the meal for him and then when you go to the new hole it's gonna be like check for like an hour or two that's normal and then after [Music] we just picked up charlie and look at how teeny he is see this is a little good boy immediately after we put him in here he already peed and i gave him a little treat that he hasn't had it yet my god he's so cute [Music] so we set up his play pen after we got home and then now let's take a look at the setup so i decided to put it in the corner of my living room and first you have this pee pad here this is a giant toy that we got him and then there is charlie here that's on his bed right hi and then this is the bed that we got from his breeder we have his food set out and water we have a little blankie from his breeder and i also have a unicorn bed that i got him specifically what i put in there this is actually a shirt that i sleep with i was told that if you put like a stinky shirt in the area where he's supposed to sleep then he's gonna feel a lot more protected and warm when he sleeps and it's gonna help with the puppy's anxiety problem and earlier when we first got here he actually already jumped in there and now he's here are you here are you here there you go hi you pretty are you gorgeous aren't you huh he's saying hi to y'all right not you okay i'm gonna go back to bed goodbye [Music] do [Music] huh i also like to play with him at like almost eye level because he's so small you know so i want him to know that you can see things from this perspective he's trying to open it [Music] so we just got charlie home and now we're trying to play with him a little bit to see if he wants to eat the treats that we got here things to do for your puppy we got these treats for him but he's gonna be so small that we think that even these will be too big for him so i literally am going to cut everything into half you being a good hmm aren't you being good boy i want him to uh learn how to recognize his name so what i'm gonna do is we're gonna feed him and keep calling him charlie hopefully it works [Music] time [Music] you like making me [Music] good boy [Music] good morning [Music] i'm saying hi to you guys hi [Music] hi good morning [Music] right [Music] this charlie boy definitely came from yesterday when he could barely get out of his own playpen to now just like going in and out extremely comfortably and now he begs to come out all the time and now look at him he's just exploring the whole world just by everything [Music] you
