[Music] hi my name is ray welcome all face your peace YouTube channel this is my puppy pillow and today we're going to be showing how to give so let's talk a little bit about what we're going to need of course you'll need a towel I like to bathe my dog in the sink mom you'll need a comb brush I love this double-sided brush to use for my dog slicker brush a pair of scissors if you're planning on trimming their face afterwards your favorite dog shampoo and favorite dog conditioner make sure you're using clothing products that are specifically for dogs and then I have here a smell good spray by Burt's Bees and pads for my dog's feet so the next thing we're gonna do is we're gonna brush out the dog I use my double-sided brush one side has a pin brush and the other side is a softer brush this just frees the dog of any snarls or tangles makes it more comfortable for the dog and an easier process for you as well so that when you're shampooing you don't hit any snarls and tangles in their hair [Music] I dog enjoys this process so definitely something that she doesn't mind the bat however not so much next I go over her coat with the slicker brush this just kind of goes a little bit deeper into her coat leaving any debris or dust or dirt or extra hair that's stuck in her coat getting that out before we go ahead so now it's time to actually bathe your dog what I like to do is plug the sink and put a little bit of the shampoo that I use for my dog right in the bottom of the sink and then I fill the sink up with just a little bit of water and what this does is it just allows your dog's feet to soak in the soapy water you really get them clean and my dog especially suffers from skin allergies the shampoo that I use is actually medicated it really helps her paws not to be a cheap then you're just gonna want to wet your dog down being extra careful not to get in the face area so for this reason I like to actually use some of the water from the bottom of this pink kind of cup it in my hands and get the rest of her face that way so that I'm not spraying the water directly to her eyes nose or mouth if you're using a sink or a tub that doesn't have a sprayer on it that's totally okay just use a cup of water to pour on your dog now it's time for shampoo I use duoc so this is a medicated shampoo but specifically for dogs that have severe skin allergies or fungal infections like yeast infections it's about how much I used at Lisa first so now you're just gonna want to apply your shampoo all over your dog's body flatter it up real well on their feet their back belly paws all over again be especially careful around your dog's face that you're not getting any shampoo into their eyes where it could irritate them make sure you're keeping track of your dog at all times because sometimes they do like to escape as you see in this video so just make sure you're watching them so they don't have an accident and slip on to the floor my dog is not too fond of baths so we try to make it as quick and painless as possible for her make sure you're getting their potty areas keep them nice and sanitized and clean just try and massage your dog and really make it as enjoyable for them as possible because again most dogs aren't a huge fan of bath time now this particular shampoo actually has to sit on the skin for about 5 to 10 minutes not all shampoos are this way but because this one is medicated it is recommended to leave on for the full amount of time that has dates on the back so because of this I like to give my dog a little bit of peanut butter to make the waiting process a little bit more enjoyable for her isn't she cute so now it's time to rinse your dog I'm gonna make sure your water temperature is good again and then just rinse thoroughly to get all those soap sets off your dogs so it doesn't cause any build-up or itchy skin make sure you just rinse really thoroughly I could link the shampoo for you guys down at the bottom in the description if you're interested in trying this for your dog they have skin issues as well and the conditioner I like to use is from top paw it's called just detangling rinse in tropical grapefruit it smells really good and it works and makes her hair nice and soft and it's out all of the tangles so I like to use a fair amount of that and just apply it all over the dog's body just kind of like the shampoo except for you don't need to scrub it in like you did shampoo just kind of smooth it over the hair face the paws all those kind of areas and I let that sit for a couple minutes as well and then I go ahead and rinse that out [Music] once you've got that rinsed out really well you'll want to take a comb and just gently comb through the dog's hair to just make sure all the tangles are out and the hair is nice and smooth and brushed sometimes the face especially can become tangled again while you're shampooing so this is just the conditioner and combing through is just a nice way to make sure all those tangles I brush through now if you keep your Yorkie in a longer cut all over this is especially important because they could develop tangles really anywhere after I shave I also take my brush and just make sure I smooth out her face as well and get any eye goo peas out with the soft side of my brush that might be left over from after the bath and then it's time to get dry the last thing you want to do is take your dog out and wrap them all up in a towel give them a little hug aren't they cute then you just want to towel dry them a bit to get the majority of the wetness out then what I like to do is take the towel kind of just clean out the inside of the ear a little bit don't try to go deep into the canal or anything like that just right inside of their ear I'm gonna wipe it out make sure all the dirt is out of there I'd like to do a more thorough ear cleaning video in the future so stay tuned for that and then what you're gonna do is you're just gonna brush your dog out one more time to make sure there's no more snarls and get them prepared for blow-drying if you like to do that I actually just let my dog air dry because she hates the blow-dryer [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] all right now that I've got her calm down let's talk about after bath after her bath I like to use this time to do any trimming up or cleaning up she needs a overgrown hair in areas where it grows really quickly and tends to get Messier or dirtier so what I like to do is trim around her eyes this just helps keep this area clean because your keys definitely develop the eye goofiness in the corners of their eyes and if you keep this trimmed that helps keep that area clean and it helps it so they can see better and just looks nicer in general I personally like to use scissors to do this I don't know if it's just because I was a hairdresser in the past or what but I just comfortable with that but you can definitely use the first if you'd prefer they have lots of great mini Clippers on the market these small areas next I like to spend a little bit of time cleaning up the sanitary areas this is important because you know things can definitely get stuck in these areas when the dog is trying to use the bathroom so keeping these areas nice and clean helps them stay basically definitely be careful when grooming these areas you don't want to get too close to the skin because it's the first can cut if you are you know right on the skin and you pull something so just be very very gentle in the areas in these areas and just graze over the hair don't get right up close to the skin the last thing I like to trim up on my yard he is her ears I do really like the tip dear look honey your key even though my RDS floppy ears I still really like how it looks I do this every time I bathe my dog as well which is about every 3 to 4 weeks you can bathe your dog more often if you'd like but my dog has sensitive skin so I tried to do it less often so it doesn't get dried out the next thing I do is spray a little bit of this Burt's Bees deodorizing spray on her the smell is apple and eucalyptus and it just makes her smell so good because the shampoo I use doesn't really have a ton of smell to it so I like to add this on its but not least I've been using these two axle chlorhexidine pads it's the same kind of ingredients that her shampoo is but it had form and afterwards I like to just rub her feet with these just as an added barrier for her and her skin allergies so this is definitely something you would only do if your dog suffers from things like this but I can definitely put the link below if any of you would like to try this it's something new I've been doing so we'll see how it goes thank you guys so much for watching and don't forget to subscribe visit us at WWE you
