interrelated rural shows by paul henning including its spin-off green acres and the beverly hillbillies there were a lot of memorable crossovers that made viewing even more fun i'm your conductor her evolve from a girl preoccupied with sports to a beautiful young woman who eventually married the love of her life steve and a year after the tv wedding linda and her tv husband played by mike miner made things official linda stepped onto the scene with an episode of mr ed in 1962 but that same year she became known for her betty joe first appearing on the beverly hillbillies and linda would join those hillbillies 16 times over the years the rest of her career mainly consisted of minor appearances on some huge shows like mork and mindy and happy days today hinning is 76 years old but now lives a quiet life with her husband and former actor ashby adams the two have been married since 1994. edgar buchanan how do you put out a false alarm i don't explain technical details i just report the facts uncle joe carson was old lazy and just wanted to sit in his rocking chair he did however enjoy a good scheme always looking to get rich quick edgar buchanan was actually a successful dentist before he gave acting a shot at the age of 36 in 1939 buchanan went on to appear in more than a hundred films including texas in 1941 where he actually played a dentist but he may be better known for some quality tv shows like hop along cassidy in 1952 buchanan would continue his uncle joe carson on 16 episodes of green acres and then fans got to enjoy him once again as a lead with glenn ford in the 1971 series cades county buchanan's final acting role was in the great 1974 family adventure benji he sadly passed away a few years later in 79 at the age of 76 from a stroke b benederet it's absolutely fascinating inspirational you didn't understand the word i said not a word kate is the matriarch of the bunch and benaderet was phenomenal as the comforting lead but the actress's untimely health decline and subsequent death during shooting of season six was quite honestly heartbreaking for fans b began acting in 1940 and by 43 benederet became warner brothers primary voice of adult female supporting characters in their looney tune shorts in the late 40s benaderet befriended paul henning this friendship led to her big break when the george burns and gracie allen show began she joined the fun for nearly 300 episodes benaderet was actually lucille ball's first choice for ethel mirth unfortunately she was under contract with the burns allen project she did guest star on the first season episode lucy plays cupid and in the early 60s she became cartoon royalty voicing betty rubble on the flintstones as we know her petticoat role was her last as she passed away in 1968 at the age of 62 from lung cancer june lockhart would join the cast as dr janet craig a potential mother figure for the girls but no one could replace benaderet frank katie a rabbit's foot yeah that's my insurance does it work ain't been robbed yet frank katie began gaining popularity as doc williams on 78 episodes of the adventures of ozzy and harriet and his role of sam drucker made history as the only actor to play a recurring character on three sitcoms at the same time from 68 to 69 he appeared on all three rural hinning creations katie's final acting performance was in the tv movie returned to green acres in 1990 before he retired from acting he then enjoyed life and spent a lot of time playing golf with friends and traveling frank katie lived until the ripe age of 96 before passing away in 2012. bobby joe the character bobby joe was originally played as a shy bookworm who enjoyed singing pat wood l originated the role for seasons one and two but she left the junction with hopes of reaching stardom via singing in several episodes she performed musical numbers including one called the ladybugs a play-off of the beatles they even took the ladybugs and performed on the ed sullivan show woodle then toured as the singer with jack benny and recorded an album but never did achieve great popularity as a vocalist pat waddell passed away in 2015 after battling cancer for decades she was 71 years old laurie saunders is probably best known as bobby joe and the character changed a bit to more scatterbrained and boy crazy yet very humorous lori began acting in 1960 with five episodes of the adventures of ozzie and harriet her other most notable gig was one of her final roles as a series regular in the short-lived bob denver led dusty's trail in 1973 today lori is 79 years old and enjoys photography art sculpture and oil painting she lives in southern california with her longtime husband since 1961 bernard sandler and the couple have two children together billy joe what do you think billy joe bradley is the ambitious and star-struck sibling of the bradley sisters originated by g and riley for seasons one and two winning the role over 300 competitors funny enough riley's other most notable gig was alongside laurie saunders in dusty's trail her final acting role was in 1991 as the landlady in the film time bomb today riley is 80 years old and recently released a book called the boulder woman it's about time season 3's billy was played by ganila hutton ganila is best known as nurse good body part of the country variety program hee haw where she sang too she'd even release a number of singles herself [Music] hutton had a long time extramarital relationship with nat king cole until hutton telephoned his wife maria to tell him to divorce him today ganila is in her late 70s and has one daughter named amber the final and longest tenured billy joe was played by meredith mcrae her billy joe was less ditzy than the previous two mcrae's big acting break was in 1963 as sally ann morrison on my three sons she continued to act throughout the 70s and 80s but is more well known for appearing on several game shows like match game she also hosted the talk show mid-morning los angeles in the 80s for which she won an emmy for her interviewing skills sadly meredith mcrae passed away at her manhattan beach home in 2000 she was 56 years old
