[Music] interesting thing happened to me a couple weeks ago I'm watching this interview with David Blaine the magician the illusionist crazy guy have you guys heard of him and I'm just infatuated I've been obsessed these last couple years with watching people that I feel have mastered their craft just studying them watching interviews and seeing how they think and what they do and I'm catching myself thinking there's no way I could do anything he does he's a different breed he's born different there's no way that I could ever do the things that he does because they're so crazy and I'm not used to thinking that way and separating myself from other people so it was kind of weird and as I was thinking that the interviewer asked David what was one of your biggest fears and what was like this the scariest time in your life that you've had in the last 20 years and keep in mind he's had no food and no drink for 45 days he swallowed gasoline and he went seven minutes without holding his breath and they asked him what was one of your biggest fears and he said you know speaking in front of 500 people and I said wait that's easy I can do that you want to trade want to teach me how to hold my breath for seven minutes but the reality is in that moment I'm like wow what he fears I feel like I'm okay at and all these things that he does I don't think I could ever do and they asked them and he said yeah III I can't stand talking in front of people I get very nervous and I'd rather do anything else than speak in front of people and I remember being at my first event years ago and I'm frustrated I'm sitting in the back I'm discouraged I'm broke and the thought that overtook my mind when I was at the event just like this was there's no way I could do what they do so it brought me back when I was thinking that like well I was comparing myself to him and his fear was something that I was good at and my fear was what he does so it's important to never compare yourself and an event like this you have to understand every speaker up here you are no different than them they've just put in more time and comparison is the ultimate misery so I was just reminded and I was like it was a breakthrough oh man I'm like wow I need to stop doing that cuz that's what I did back in the day and that's what caused him to be so frustrated is because every speaker that came up I'm like I can't do that they're too charismatic they were born a certain way there's no way I could ever be on stage they have millions because their parents had it I had every excuse in the book and it just reminded me of those excuses I used to have so I challenge you don't compare yourself to anybody except who you were yesterday so I'm excited for this I I have some things on my mind and I'll tell you would you guys agree this is one of the greatest times in human history to be alive would you guys agree it's amazing and I want to help you capitalize on this moment in time and I'll tell you what worked five or ten years ago I'm starting to see isn't working as much I know 15 and 16 year olds on track to make a million dollars this year and broke 40 year olds it's crazy experience and age I think is irrelevant now because the person that's 40 says yeah but I have 20 years of experience no you don't you have one year repeated 20 times because if you don't get any better if you're not mastering your craft and growing and consistently investing in yourself it's just one year repeated 20 times so I really want to share not only my story but I want to share the biggest breakthroughs I've ever had in entrepreneurship the last 12 years some of you guys like 12 years how old are you the last 12 years so I'm excited I've been obsessed with - what's what's been working now not 10 years ago so for me I started when I was 15 in entrepreneurship and I had a eBay business and I used to do construction with my dad I could not stand hard labor he knew that so I started the eBay business just buying and selling shoes and and stuff like that and my breakthrough moment when I was 15 was I had told my dad I needed to go do some stuff I couldn't work anymore and my all my friends worked with him shoveling sand and doing construction painting houses and I just was so fed up I can't do hard labor so I wouldn't check my and I had made 90 $91 and my friend had worked eight hours that day I made 60 so I'm like how in the world that I just make $90 doing nothing really just putting it on eBay and he worked his butt off he was sweating and he made 60 I'm like I'm on to something here and I want people to realize I got paid for the courage to think differently and take a risk but that was my first taste of entrepreneurship when I was like wow this like I can do something with just my brain and not just my hands so that was exciting to me 16:17 came around I wanted to be a full-fledged entrepreneur but my environment didn't really allow that and my confidence wasn't high so I was persuaded pretty easily by everyone else so parents all my friends you can't be an entrepreneur you have to get the normal job that's what you have to do because that's what everyone else does so I said okay I'll try the normal job so I started valeting cars at a casino and they let you validate cars at a casino when you're 17 which is cool I don't know if it's cool but some people like you weren't 21 well they let you ballet cars so I remember thinking and I remember adding up my paycheck I was making 705 an hour I'm ever adding up the paychecks and thinking okay 7:05 times 40 hours a week times the two months I was going to work and I'm thinking no matter what I do or how valuable I get or how many customers I help I'm gonna make the exact same amount and something inside me just didn't sit well and there was someone there that worked there mmm six months to a year more than me he got paid a lot more and he did bare minimum and was very lazy and I just didn't feel like that was fair so I quit and I just I felt like there was more and I wanted to build a life on my terms I wanted to get paid what I felt like I was worth but what I was from a very small town of like 7,000 people that just it was unheard of so year went by I went to college and got a job in sales and that really changed my life because I saw potential based on how hard I worked that's what I was paid but I almost forgot reality check is you need discipline and you need to know how to schedule your time and you need to actually be self-motivated I was fired up and excited my problem was I was energized and ambitious but didn't have any guidance so I was inconsistent I struggled and eventually I'll fast forward and tell you the whole story but eventually I went broke and I had told all my friends all my family I said I'm gonna be an entrepreneur and does anyone have that feeling where you tell someone you're gonna do something and then you don't do it or you feel like you failed raise your hand it's the war it's this feeling inside that I'll never forget this feeling where I felt like I let myself down but I also felt embarrassed that I let everyone else down so I'm gonna fast forward a little bit and the first breakthrough I had was someone told me if you're broke you have to invest in yourself you have to study personal development so I started studying everything and that actually made it worse for me because I was so overwhelmed there were so many opinions I was reading books audios videos studying all these different courses and I was so overwhelmed so now I'm broke and overwhelmed and I'm listening to people say study personal development study all these things but I didn't really understand the power of mastery so my first big breakthrough was shifting and get ridding of all the noise out there and simplifying who I was so number one really is getting absolute clarity on who you are who you're not and exactly what you want and it can't be vague I didn't know exactly what I wanted but I knew I didn't want to be in that spot anymore I hated the feeling of having no choices and being frustrated discouraged and broke so I got crystal clear I got rid of all the noise in my head and I created my ideal outcome so I'm gonna share something with you that I created it's called the one-page mastery plan I put everything on one page and this took me from broke and stressed out to making six figures in five and a half months and then a couple years later getting to the seven-figure mark this exact thing and it's just been a game-changer for me so I want to share this with you and how the speech works guys is there's been a lot of studies and if I just speak and you kind of listen listen casually and kind of lay back you'll remember about 10% of the speech if you actually take notes you'll remember about 45% but if you get engaged shout back the answers get fired up get excited you'll remember 85% and I really want to make sure you have the guidance my whole purpose of this speech is to make you think different and give you a proven roadmap so you guys can maximize and capitalize in this new economy the next six months to a year so I had to get clear on exactly what I wanted if I asked a hundred entrepreneurs what do you want what is your ideal outcome in the next six months ninety-nine out of a hundred do not know they're too vague I want more money yeah everybody does but what what exactly do you want so the first step on this page is creating your ideal vision simple one paragraph how many employees do you want what business are you running how involved are you in the business how much money are you making monthly who's on your team and the key here is to base this off your potential not your past I see a lot of people basing everything off their insecurities in their past and that was me no you have to base it off what's possible and base it off your potential there's no limitations when you do this so what is your ideal outcome for the next six months so for me I wanted to get out of debt I wanted to make more money I wanted to feel fulfilled have peace of mind I wanted to build my sales team so the next thing you have to do on this page and this is simplifying everything in your head to just one page complexity is the enemy of execution if you are overwhelmed you will subconsciously distract yourself you will subconsciously seek distractions when you're overwhelmed and I was overwhelmed so I had to simplify so ideal vision statement next the top five things that you want to accomplish in the next six months the top five things your big five if me and you were hanging out in six months from now what would have had to happen for you to be completely satisfied and excited about your results in six months so your Big Five you don't need to do your big five now and write everything down just write Big Five your top five things you want to accomplish you can go back and fill it out later then here's the big one next is your top three two four values what is most important to you this is where fulfillment and peace of mind and legacy comes in play I had no clue what values were I was trying to work work work I had no guidance but I had ambition and energy but that left me broke and I felt like my ambition didn't match my bank account or my results so you need more than ambition and energy you need a proven roadmap and you need to understand your values and really understand who you are so values and they change over time but I had to put my values in place what was number one flexibility in freedom I knew the feeling I got when someone told me what to do I just knew the feeling of having disrespectful bosses and people that told me what I was worth I just I knew that feeling I had I never want to feel that again so what number one for me was flexibility and autonomy and freedom that's what I wanted no one had tell me what to do or what I'm worth and I wanted to travel when I wanted to travel next was impact and influence and I wanted to build a legacy and then third was financial freedom so some people everyone's gonna live based off their values subconsciously so if money is number one you know people in society that money is number one you can tell by their actions and then you know people that legacies number one and it's cool mapping out my values because now I know what my values are very intact I've turned down speeches for fifteen thousand dollars and I've given free speeches to inner city kids because my values are impacting people if my value number one was money I would not give free speeches and I would only go to the highest paid ones but that's not my values some people it is I'm not saying those are bad values just know your values what's more powerful than personal growth and any information is knowing yourself and knowing who you are and knowing how to spark your fire knowing what drives you in what frustrates you so I put my values in play and now you're gonna base everything that comes into your office or comes in your inbox on your values and your top five so anything that comes across my desk or in my inbox I match it to my values and what's most important to me and if it matches I say yes if it doesn't I say no so next now it's different when I was broke it was hard to have values we're gonna pay you five thousand okay okay when you're broke you're like okay right but the reality is it's important throughout stages to make sure you defined your values so after that this is the fuel now it's your top five most compelling reasons what are your top five reasons of why you want to accomplish the success the next six months what are your top five most compelling reasons usually you have to write down 20 or 30 because most are BS so top 20 and then cross out the ones that you know don't fire you up if you're not waking up at 4:00 or 5:00 in the morning fired up excited you don't have strong enough reasons because the reasons are gonna pull you through all the tough times and the second you set a goal that's worthwhile you're gonna have challenges pop up you're tested that's just what it is if not it'd be easy and everyone to be doing it so you have to have those reasons that really Drive you to pull you through the challenges to get you to the other side and they could be any reason that fires you up and gets you excited so cross out most of those that you know aren't deep enough they're not internal and find your biggest five reasons of why you want to quit your job or why you want to start a business or why you want to make your first million or why you want to be an influencer be a speaker and this was so refreshing because I was now gonna let my vision guide me not my current circumstances that was the game changer next what is the one skill that you want a master that is most relevant to your big five and your values now you measure everything against that one skill there's so much information out there there's an overwhelm of videos audios podcasts YouTube videos there's overall information and you to focus on mastery not overload there is a grass is greener mentality going around entrepreneurship and personal growth where you need more information no you don't you need the right information that's most relevant to your vision and your values now everything you study from now on make sure it's relevant to your six month vision and ignore everything else one of the best advice I got from my mentor when I was twenty three or four he said take very very few opinions and I was like what do you mean I take all opinions he said well depends where you want to be in life I only take opinions from people that not only have the results you want but have similar values so now you're basing everything that you study in and take-in on your values and your vision so now you don't have to listen to every podcast or read every book now you just study the stuff that's most relevant to the skill you want to master this was such a relief for me because I was studying everything and I was wondering why I was so overwhelmed and I had no results so a lot of young entrepreneurs like coach they tricked themselves into thinking they need more information when all they need is execution of the right information that's what they really need they need to execute what they've already learned so that's the reality and this has been such a difference maker for a lot of people that I've taught this to because they say oh my gosh I was so overloaded so you don't need to read 50 books or a book a day or a book a week master three books this year don't read fifty mastery versus overload is the key now you also know your values so now you don't need to follow 25 people because you're gonna have so many opinions follow people that are most relevant to what matters to you so for example there's so many people in the industry and it's not they don't respect them I respect everyone's hustle but there's people that are 40 50 60 years old that are working 60 hours a week and never spend time with their kids I'm not gonna follow him why I want to spend time with my kids and coach my kids when I'm 50 or 60 so why would I follow someone or take information with someone that is working 60 hours a week when they're 45 it makes no sense nothing there's nothing wrong with that but I'm gonna follow people that I feel have similar values that I do and have a similar business that I do it's all about being more congruent and more intentional in everything you do so that was the first breakthrough simplicity and really getting clear on who I was getting rid of all the noise out there most things don't matter so figuring out what matters to you now I had this plan I was still frustrated still discouraged but I had a plan now so I felt a little more excited but I still didn't have the confidence I needed so my next breakthrough was I had to increase my most important account which is my confidence account not your bank account your conference account and here's the scary thing about this it's either growing or shrinking at every decision there's no in-between so everyone inside them has what's called a conference accounts and based on that account is exactly why you are where you are now there's a lot of successful people in here so I'm not knocking that but a lot of people in here probably want to grow how many you guys feel like even if you're doing well there's another level of success for you in the next six months raise your hand so we have some very ambitious people and you guys have high standards and sometimes it's hard to live with high standards because most people don't have high standards it's tough most of society just being very blunt most of society does not have high standards they're very low so you guys have the high standards so it's hard to live that way sometimes so for me I had to increased my conference account and if you don't have confidence you will always find a way to lose that's the importance of confidence so the biggest things that I did first was here's a couple ways to increase your confidence right now and this is it's like watching grass grow it's like buying a bond you can't read a book or listen to my speech and you're confident it takes a while it's consistent tough decisions but for me the first thing was doing my due diligence and my research the more you research your industry the more you study the more certainty you have I think the number one reason people don't want to leave their nine-to-five is because they don't have certainty but you got to ask yourself how much did someone pay you to give up on your dreams you want to create your own certainty now by who you are and the action you take and your confidence so do your due diligence the next big confidence booster is choosing growth in the moment in the moment you always have two decisions the tough or the easy one should eat that cheeseburger or the salad should you wake up or hit the alarm should he work out or watch TV should you go out and party and drink or should you stay home and look at your goals most people don't think the little decisions matter that's all that matters is the small decisions and you keep making those easy decisions life gets a lot harder you make the tough ones in the moment life's a lot easier so me I was making all the easy decisions every decision in the moment was easy for me oh that's the easy decision I didn't think it mattered and that's why I ended up where I was so from this moment forward choose growth in the moment really think about in the moment what's the tougher decision and that leads me to the next thing is basing everything off your decisions and off your standards not emotions or fear mode I was making a lot of decisions off of emotion it's crazy I was talking to Arianna Huffington who started Huffington Post probably a year and a half ago and she was talking about how she built Huffington Post and she was saying at the beginning she was struggling it was discouraging she had kids she was taken care of she wasn't getting results and she realized every decision she was making was based off emotion frustration or fear and she said Peter the second I started making decisions off intelligence and off who I was and off what I wanted the game changed for me she didn't say the game changed for me I can't she wouldn't say that um she said Huffington Post grew right so she said never make it I'll never forget this she said never make a decision when you're frustrated tired lonely or discouraged and I'm like wow that's almost all my decisions I shouldn't say lonely my wife's in the crowd never lonely okay so from this moment forward only make decisions when you're in a peak state of mind that was my breakthrough it really builds your confidence only if you're in a bad mood or emotional don't make a decision almost every decision based off emotion is wrong make decisions based off intelligence and based off your standards and there's a thing called the decision train last for confidence is making decisions based off how you feel right and there's so many people right now struggling and I try to help as many people as I can so I never downplay the struggle because I've been there but most people are making so many decisions off how they feel versus making a decision so quick example is working out if you don't feel like working out most people don't right but if you make a decision I'm gonna work out regardless and then you take that action whether you feel like it or not the feeling afterwards is amazing you got to get addicted to the end result of doing things you don't feel like because those who only do what they feel like don't do much so under confidence start making decisions based off standards and intelligence really think things through and then elevating your circle of influence I don't want to talk too much about this because you guys are big on shifting your circle of influence you guys are here in an event I would strongly recommend networking with everybody a lot of ambitious people here but I heard a quote at an event that same event that I was struggling with this is the quote that really turned it around if you want to be a millionaire talk to billionaires you'll get there quicker talk to people that are playing the game at a higher level than you there's nothing that will make a bigger difference on your success then who you associate with on a daily basis your circle of influence is going to make or break you so the first thing I tell you a circle influence that's going to increase your confidence is get rid of toxic people who don't make you feel exceptional if we had four or five lives you can hang out with toxic people one of them right we have one life it life is way too short to tolerate people who don't make you feel a million like a million dollars okay so that was a big conference when I got rid of people that were dragging me down and that were frustrating me that I was 22 23 and they're like oh you're young it's okay to be broke it's not okay it's your obligation right to provide for your family and to build a legacy and it really creates something that you're proud of and meaningful so I got rid of toxic people and it was just a breath of fresh air when I did that so that's the last thing under confidence is elevates your circle of influence when you do that you will not believe good to see you you will not believe the amount of peace of mind you save and the amount of hunger that you develop because you have all a players around you or people that are fired up and excited right so I finally shift my circle of influence I start seeing some success and my third breakthrough happens the third thing I'll tell you that I want you to jot down if anything is put nothing above being a world-class human being that's number one put nothing above that and I've been around the last five or ten years been lucky to travel everywhere speak meet some amazing people being some amazing circles and there's nothing you should put above being a world-class human being first period I know best-selling authors multi-million dollar producers people with networks of over a hundred million dollars but their kids don't know who they are so the challenges don't be a million-dollar producer but destroy relationships and don't be a best-selling author but kill your peace of mind right don't be an exceptional and amazing entrepreneur but forget about your health and don't be an exceptional CEO but a horrible parent you got a state world class in every area cuz that's really the New Age entrepreneurship is being world in every area knowing yourself knowing your values figure out what's most important to you putting nothing above your values being intentional and one of the top questions I get is how do I motivate my mom or my friend or my brother or my teammate or my sister or my wife or husband I get this question every day here's the answer you don't you live your best life and the right people will catch on and ask you what you're doing if not shame on them period I used to get so frustrated cuz I was so excited about life and I tried to motivate and the people who this is funny it's not funny but it is the people who need it the most are the ones who don't take it it's like the strangest thing but it's just that's just how it is I'm glad you guys agree it's true so you don't need to motivate people just live your best life be an example lead by example if you walk the walk you don't need to talk to talk right so be the example that you want people to follow and I promise the right people will catch on then you'll get people out of the Woodworks you'll get people in your family saying hey what are you doing I see you traveling you're always so happy what are you doing and then you could say come here let me let me show you but trying to force it on people just doesn't work that's why I get so excited and humbled to be at an event like this with so many amazing speakers is you guys are hungry you are part of the elite 5% of the society that wants to impact and change the game and a lot of people are counting on you and your message to inspire them so the number one thing that I've seen hold people back in the last 10 or 12 years just from observing and from studying and from speaking a lot the number one thing that holds most people back is they never tell themselves right now matters ever they're always on some day I'll now matters more than ever most people spend the first half of their life saying they're too young and the second half saying they're too old don't do that okay my only hope and I'll leave you with this my only hope I want you guys I've been obsessed with lowering regret and having no regret I want you guys to be 70 80 years old and be able to look in the mirror and have zero regret like most people have and be proud of your life be excited about the legacy you're building and be excited about what you've created with your intention and with your action so I'm excited to see where you guys take it thank you guys
