Penn State at Michigan 1996 GAME STORY

on a sunny day in Ann Arbor where the temperature expected to be as high as 47 48 degrees so we have been blessed it's a long way from the top of this big old stadium down to the sidelines but both teams have eyes upstairs that are so important here's Bob Griese with his defense Wilkie this game people like defensive tackle Brendan and stayed in life dear senior Joe is six-five big rangy wide reciever 222 pounds and he has excellent hands now the man is gonna be response from throughout the day Charles Woodson may be one of the best athletes in all of college football with excellent speed now both coaches I've talked to say this is one big game of cat and mouse they're gonna attempt to move juror around to see just what which is going to do if they're going to keep them to the wide side that field go man-on-man moving his earthside and go zone just doesn't one of the great games of cat now flop that move that can have a great impact on this game the way we'll be kicking off for Penn State he is the senior who's had a terrific career with the Nittany Lions we're on real grass Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor and a crowd again will be over a hundred thousand it's become this to Penn State having come into the big 10 they have played three times previously that ball you can run the football because this Penn State crowd led by Jim Nelson played very very well against Darnell at linebacker Nelson down to Michigan and stops there and he is two and a half yards short of his first down the Wolverines will have to punt so this outing was truly outstanding well if you want to start the game off as a quarterback this is a great place to start the chilis starting lineup for Penn State Jonas Gussie is a very good receiver getting better every game you know they're gonna be all over Joe juris vicious which means that nastasi made fines you'll have to play something that yep vicious the white man at the bottom of the picture that's Curtis eNOS in motion and the Richardson will pass on the first place we'll have a first a no team is passing on the first play of the game the offensive front feet MARSOC that's a good solid group but the fella alongside barczyk John Blake is a baby he's big but he's a baby he makes a lot of mistakes and Marge's gonna have to help me true freshman baby yep 335 going to be a great one down the road problem is Jason slowed is the single he was out as a flanker came back in motion to get the reverse and if you're gonna move reverse what better guy than eNOS the running back he knows how to carry [Music] [Applause] the end zone
