Pawn Stars: Chumlee Gets Bob Dylan's Autograph (Season 3) | History

hey how's it going man good got a little Bob Dylan album here okay tell portrait covers in great shape it is four years old that's not that old I'm older than that decided to come to the pawn shop today to try and sell this old Bob Dylan album the reason I want to sell this album is I just don't really have any use for it I don't have a record player don't really have any way to enjoy it rather someone else did I'm hoping I can get 75 80 bucks out of it oh you know anything about it a little bit it's a dual album I understand he painted the cover artwork on there this was early 70s we got a lot of cool songs a lot of people would know like a rolling stone the mighty Quinn you know that one yeah yeah this was right around the time when Bob Dylan said it was a lot of pressure being the you know the voice of a generation Bob Dylan released self-portrait back in 1970 was a pretty weird album because most of it was just versions of other people's socks the critics hated it but Dylan being Dylan it went gold and hit the top ten of the charts and it looks like it's in pretty good shape both the both albums they're in there okay so no scratches on the vinyl not that I could see the album is a great shape even though it's not one of his most iconic works I can still sell it to a collector but the price has to be right this isn't a first pressing of his debut album what did you want to do with it looking to sell it okay and what we'd like to get out of it I was thinking maybe like 150 I mean there's a one teeny little tear and there's a little bit of staining on it it's more like 50 you know I looked online and I've seen these going for 100 150 and they looked in pretty similar condition you can get like 150 200 bucks that they're in beautiful shape pristine this is not pristine there's problems with it could you do like 85 I'll go 50 bucks I'm gonna sell it for $75 alright I'll do 50 ok let's go do some paperwork I was only able to get 50 bucks out of it but I think that's a fair price so I'm happy with that jump Bob Dylan's in town for a concert I want you to bring this album to him and have him sign it alright excuse me you guys seen Bob Dylan's he's no Bob Dylan might be around here you gotta get this signature there yes hey mr. Dylan how you doing okay I was wondering if I could trouble you for signature here this is your album right yeah I think I see that I brought one with me I knew you were doing the show and I just figured I'd walk around till I found you oh do you think I want me say she's just make it out to Chumlee whatever you want to do okay it's really mean a lot to my boss okay well thank you mr. Dooley good luck to you all right [Music] who's lost Rick's gonna be so happy I did it Rick you did it got Bob Dylan signature let me see it yeah check it out it's a little higher than what you wanted a sign what took me all night to friend them to Chumlee Bob Dylan this is a joke no that's a signature that's my name - Chumlee Bob I just wanted Bob Dylan to sign it just Bob Dylan no one's gonna want to buy an album avi signed to Chumlee maybe another Chumlee will there's not that many other Chumley's in the world I'm sorry yeah theny what just keep it just got caught up in judge just just keep them it's for yourself just hang it on your wall flea I swear to god it's freaking awesome day some people's children mr. Ben and I got along famously why heat it'll do a pass I copied on myself he's got a name engraved on how did you end up with this sounds so fun

One of my favorite clips of Bob. For someone so guarded, the image of him appearing on Pawn Stars is so strange and surreal I can’t help but love it. And OF COURSE he’s signing Self Portrait. You have to wonder if he specifically requested that be the album he sign

I’ve often found Dylan and gotten him to sign things for me by just wandering around and asking people if they’ve seen him. It works every time.
